[9.0] "This match was as good as I could have hoped it would be! A fantastic TV match all around. Felt like there was tremendous chemistry between all four, it was fast paced with some great big moves spread through and everyone got a chance to look super impressive. If this is a sign of how good the tournament will be, I'm looking forward to it even more than before."

[5.0] "Very solid match to kick us off. It stayed in a certain gear (which is fine for a TV match) and had a disjointed transition at one point but all in all, very decent bout."

[8.0] "This is great and a super showcase match for the division. Hayter and Storm feel super fresh and the Soho / Storm tag team gels real well and they put a lot of though on how to team together. Britt Baker has a botch that actually takes a bit of the momentum of the match but she is mostly fine, the thing is that you start feel some Britt Baker fatigue, especially with her not changing anything about her character after the title was lost. But anyway, they do a lot of great sequences with great timing and everybody shines. Ruby is rebuilding herself and has a great hot tag. Jamie Hayter feels like she is ready to surpass Britt (booking wise) and we really shouldn't wait too much on that. Overall banger, great use of their time, wrestling like they want to prove a point which is what you want from the division. 7.7/10"

[7.0] "This was a great opener for the show that gave a small preview of Storm vs. Hayter from the Owen Hart tourney. All four women had the fire to carry this match on the next level shifting gears at the right time with sharp offense and great synergy. The faces won which is a standard but acceptable move. 3.5 out of 5 stars!"

[7.0] "That was a hot bout. Chemistry between the two teams were so good. Storm and Soho's pairing felt so natural and obviously had a clear cheer by the crowd. Superb matchup as all four women shined here. Nice back-and-forth action even if the finish felt a bit clumsy, in my opinion."

[7.0] "Great showing from all four here with special mention to Storm and Hayter in particular for their sequences throughout the match. AEW's women's division is spotty, and showings like this (and the singles match later on the card) bring consistency to the division."

[5.0] "This started well with the action between Jamie Hayter and Toni Storm being great, but things went noticeably downhill once Baker got in there with her usual slow and sloppy work. By the end the match had pretty much descended into a complete mess. As a preview for an already highly anticipated match between Jamie and Toni it certainly did its job. I'm really looking forward to their match, although it still irks me that it's a first round match when I 100% believe it should have been the final with Jamie going over, she's the absolute best the division has and it's about time she was elevated to the top it."

[6.0] "While waiting for the tournament, the girls sort it out and decide who is better. I remember Toni Storm more than others, and she brought victory to her team. In general, it was fun, a few German suplexes and all sorts of hard ass and hands blows. That's how it is. All four girls, in principle, can work well and show themselves as professionals, they coped with this."

The best of the match were the spots between Hayter and Storm, but that doesn't take anything away from Baker and Soho's performance as well. Very surprised of the finish with Storm taking the surprise pin on Baker. Great match. 8/10"

[6.0] "A fun match which left me feeling a little more optimistic about the division as a whole as well as increasing my interest in Storm vs Hayter. Too short to be much else but probably one of the better AEW women's matches in a while."

ElvisMagellan wrote on 07.05.2022:
[6.0] "Mostly solid action and a good pace with four pretty good workers. Ruby hasn't been able to maintain the momentum she had coming into AEW, and may ultimately be better suited for tag-team work, because this was her best match since she faced Britt for the title. Baker didn't seem super invested in the match, and Hayter carried their team. Hayter's work continues to be strong, but she's in need of something in the way of a personality outside of being Baker's heavy. Would be nice to see Storm get a little more ring time going forward, but this was a nice sampler of a match."

[7.0] "A big standout match recently for Ruby and Britt who hadn't been on the best form lately but looked super on form, fast and hard hitting. Jamie and Toni looked as great as usual. All told this match came together very well."
GoldLiger wrote on 07.05.2022:
[7.0] "Very nice tag match here, legitimately the best Britt match in a while because of her good teamwork with Hayter, who was the star of the match. They really need to give Jamie more time to work, she's awesome. Her chemistry with both Ruby & Storm shined here as well, and that big boot to Toni kicked ass. Ruby also looked better than she has in a while. You can tell all four women were motivated and will put in 100% during the tournament. Happy the crowd got into this even though it was the same crowd that died watching Deonna/Martinez right before this got taped. ***1/4+"

Derek Joists wrote on 07.05.2022:
[7.0] "This was probably Ruby's best showing since she joined AEW, she seems to work much better in a tag team. Hayter and Storm were excellent as ever, and Britt was Britt. It's probably time to move the focus away from her for a bit, and her getting pinned is probably a move towards that. Hopefully this will lead into some good matches in the Owen."
