[9.0] "4.5* I don't feel this is underrated, but it was a very different match from what we were expecting. They just beat the shit out of each other for the whole match and Danielson was always on top. I really loved the detail of the finish where Moxley steals the victory and he looks like total crap while Danielson is complaining and he doesn't have any trace from the battle. Fantastic stuff. Another day from Danielson and one of Moxley's best matches."
[8.0] "Bryan and Moxley did not have good chemistry and while I'm gonna watch their matches, more it will become clear to me. This match is good? Hell yeah, it is. Disappointing? Yes, because we have here probably the best prime in the decade (Moxley 2022) facing probably the best wrestler of all time, and they just delivered a eight? Yeah, it was disappointing. But don't get me wrong, everything they did here, specially the last nearfalls and submission attempts, was so fucking good. The post angle is excellent and create one of the best stables of the decade, but it not count on my review because it is not about the match itself."
[8.0] "This was very hard hitting match. Bryan and Mox just destroyed each other here. This match was very bloody, which mostly came from Moxley of course. Bryan played his heel part way better than I remember."
[7.0] "this was a decent match i think its overrated but still good, Mox looks good here and so does danielson they lay on some brutal hits to one another and even after the bout they contuine going at it until regal comes out to form the black pool combat club which is a team that will go into history for good and bad reasons but it was a pretty good matchup"
[8.0] "Really great match, between two hard hitting legends, i love how vicious the strikes were and them trying to one up each other, after the match with regal was fantastic with them coming together."
[10.0] "A really incredible match between both men with absolutely brilliant and technical in ring action and psychology between each other and post match with the debut of William Regal was just as brilliant."
[8.0] "[4.0*] I think the AEW Matches from 19-22 were rated a lot higher than todays, I wonder if that it a hate-wave caused by the propagation of the platform. This match is awesome, do not get me wrong, but for example, FTR vs BCC from Revolution 2024 is better, and is rated way lower. What brings this match up is the hype from the crowd, that wanted to see a stiff action; they got it. A lot of great strikes and power moves, but when it was starting to get into the 9/10 level a very bad roll-up finish that made me take 0.25* off. Of course the post-match angle with Regal is legendary, but it could have ended in a time-limit draw, with more time inside the climax and a better finish."
[8.0] "This got sorta buried on the card which is a shame because its a really smartly worked match. More technical than Id expect from a Mox match, with lots of great sequences, counters and reversal work. Finish came out of nowhere a bit but made sense given the style of the match. Thought the pace was a little slow at times and it went a little long but that didnt impact my enjoyment of it too much. Incredible ending too, with a great post match angle."
[8.0] "This is one of those matches that the idea was better than the execution... the crowd was dead, which automatically makes any match worse, and probably it wasn't a great idea to work this match after the Dog Collar match, they've already seen a bloody brawl, they were tired to watch another one, wrong timing. But the match is pretty good, I loved the way they worked on the reversals, this was a badass match, high psychology, they were testing each other the whole time, loved the way how they bled together and at the same time. A smart wrestled match that should've happen in other place, and the ending was awkward too, shouldn't be this way, but the post-match angle with William Regal is legendary, this is where the Blackpool Combat Club was born - {****}"
[8.0] "I really enjoyed how this match worked as a "proving grounds" style match, starting as a test of each other's grappling skills and escalating in violence. A little bit of a weird finish, but doesn't ruin the totality of the work. This match sets the tone for what Blackpool Combat Club will become with these two men as William Regal's lieutenants."
[8.0] "The match starts kind of slow but when it devolves into the bloody blow for blow strike fest is when it gets great. Danielson consistently aims for the body and the head and Moxley tries to outsmart him, and eventually does with his jackknife pin. Both men are in prime form, the only problem is I know it could've been better with Moxley's experience in Bloodsports. Still a great watch and led to one of the best factions in modern wrestling history in the Blackpool Combat Club."
[7.0] "This match was a disappointment to me but it was still very good for the most part. Bryan's heel arrogance and work over Moxley's mid-section was great. He definitely brought the stiffness with his kicks and knees. Moxley's wrestling style has soured on me recently but this is the best he's looked in awhile. Not everything he did looked perfect (some poor striking here and there) but he worked hard. There were some dead moments and the crowd was losing interest at this point in the show and it hurt the match. They didn't hold back on the blood even if MJF/Punk did it earlier in the night. There weren't any incredible or truly great moments but I'll give them credit for the amount of effort they put in here. ***1/2"
[8.0] "Better on a second watch. Both men delivered great perfomances and the action was hard-hitting and intense with lots of great strikes and some very cool sequences, especially in the second part of the match. Danielson's work on Moxley's ribs was really good. Both men got busted open so they respected the build-up, liked that. The ending was awesome, Moxley rolling into a pin a triangle choke for the win was a great finish that left the possibily of a rematch in the future. Post-match with William Regal's deubt was amazing. 8/10 - 4.25*/5*"
[5.0] "I usually eat up anything with Danielson, I was looking forward to this match. It was another really physical and violent match (which is a good thing! ) but I felt like I couldn't really get invested in it, the story between these two was made a lot more interesting after the match. It wasn't anything special to me though."
[9.0] "This was an amazing match, but the crowd being pretty burnt out by this point in the show hurt it a little bit. This was a bloody brawl with two excellent performances from Mox and Danielson. The post match with William Regal making his debut was great. ****1/2"
[7.0] "I gave this match a 9 last year and it sadly hasn't lived up to that rating on the rewatch. I know it hasn't really been that long but a few months ago I was a big Moxley fan and used to ignore his weak spots which have now become much more apparent. They still retained some of the matches best qualities though. The grappling by both was excellent and I feel like Moxley is underrated in that regard. There was real struggle between exchanges which I adored, and you usually don't get to see it anymore. Especially in lauded 'technical' matches. Moxley's strikes, which was usually awful were on point here as well. Still not the biggest fan of his knee strikes though. I thought the spot on the outside where they started throwing abysmal hockey punches was awful. Going from a great striking exchange to a sequence where your attacks don't even look like they connect is rather off-putting. They kept their intensity up throughout the match but it's a shame the crowd wasn't into it that much. Part of it has to do with Britt Baker but these two still have a better match in them. Danielson was pretty great here. With all the talk about how people in wrestling don't know how to throw a proper punch, fans and veterans alike really need to give Danielson some credit. I don't think anyone in the modern wrestling scene can throw a believable punch like Danielson can. He was vicious throughout the match, and I loved his work on Moxley's ribs. It's unfortunate that Moxley at times forgot that he was supposed to sell his ribs. For instance, have no problem running for a suicide dive like Danielson wasn't keen on breaking his ribs. We have yet to see a Danielson/Mox match where Moxley wrestlers in a way that he actually excels at. Brawler Mox has always been the best version of Mox and I'm not generally the biggest fan of his Stan Hansen impersonation. All in all, pretty good but both these wrestlers have it in them to have a great match. Post-match segment was pretty neat although it's kinda sad how it turned out. Had BCC stayed away from the JAS, we might've seen some compelling tv from AEW last summer."
[8.0] "This is one of the toughest battles you'll ever find, and honestly the theme of "technician vs brawler" is brilliant. Of course Moxley started bleeding like a pig as usual. The post match with William Regal was fantastic"
[9.0] "Loved this. It was just a brutal, bloody war between Mox and Danielson, as one would probably expect. Lots of great technical wrestling mixed in with some downright brutal brawling. Crowd was super into it, as were the competitors. I especially liked the finish, with Moxley reversing the submission into the pin for the win. All in all both guys looked amazing here and it more than lived up to the high expectations people had for this match. ****1/2"
[9.0] "Super high quality match led fully by Danielson, this was Moxleys best match in a while and the stiffness of the shots from both guys aswell as the great exchanges of technical wrestling made this match amazing"
[8.0] "A solid enough brawl with Danielson playing Danielson and Moxley playing Moxley. The blood played perfectly into the story they had built heading into the match, and the post match segment capped off the match spectacularly and set up a new chapter in AEW history."
[7.0] "This was a good match, but honestly, I was expecting more. The blade job felt unnecessary, first we already seen it with MJF/Punk so it kind of take the shock value from it. I'm also not a fan of blade job in wrestling. At times this was hard hitting and at times it was slow. The avalanche back suplex from Bryan's always impressive. The crowd was kind of into this match, but no so much. Huge pop for William Regal showing up. Overall, good match, but I had higher expectations. ***1/2"
[8.0] "They opened this with a mat-wrestling sequence to start, looking to outplay each other using basic wear-down holds and wrestling IQ. Soon, things quickly escalated when they began stiffing each other with forearms, kicks, elbows, headbutts, you name it. Mox started bleeding, and Danielson shortly followed the trend, much like what they suggested in the build-up. Bryan was a master in control here, adding extra shots to the body parts while he had Mox in a submission. Moxley, meanwhile, can take a beating quite like no one else and come back for more. This became a total bloodied-up slugfest in the final minutes, where they bashed the living hell out of each other with all they got. The finish was pretty weird, as Mox reversed Bryan's triangle to a roll-up, even though one of his shoulders was actually up. That hardly matters, though, as William Regal made his AEW debut and forced them to make amends right there in the ring! I can see this being a MOTYC had the crowd shown some more energy. [****]"
[8.0] "Call me crazy but I expected a better match between these two, but I think it speaks well of Bryan and Mox to say that a disappointing match (imo) its still one of the best matches in the year in AEW. Maybe too high expectations, but still a great match. ****"
[7.0] "This was a fun match with a clunky finish. A fight that was mostly in Bryan's favor which showed how dominant Bryan tends to be against most of his opponents in AEW. The blading in this match was needed but it showed an obvious flaw in the booking of this show due to it being the second match with a lot of needed bleeding on the show. There was unfortunately one spot in this match where Moxley and Bryan traded very fake blows on the outside. Thankfully the part of the match that was on the outside was limited thanks to Bryan's influence on the match. William Regal debuting was however better than the match."
[9.0] "A nasty brawl, Danielson and Moxley are amazing and were always going to deliver, and boy did they. My second favorite match of the show, would love to see a rematch down the road."
[9.0] "I needed a rewatch as Baker vs. Rosa put me to sleep. At the end of the second watch, that was an insane thing. I love this kind of wrestling : pure wrestling against brutality. Mox and Danielson went to war and blood and put on a masterpiece. Their chemistry was beyond excellent. Big strikes, big submissions : that was something. They didn't hold their moves at all. Tough dudes contest. Superb finish, that was innovative. Regal's arrival at the end waked me up first, I didn't saw him coming at all."
[5.0] "This made me appreciate MJF vs Punk a little more. I considered that a disappointment. But this was truly a disappointment. This had potential with the blood and stylistic choices but this was so tame and dull to watch. Moxley tries hard and can actually hit hard on occasion but for whatever reason, his chemistry with Bryan was lacking. The grappling aspects weren? t particularly good (nor were they bad) and the stiff action didn? t translate to interesting wrestling. The crowd died after Punk/MJF and until William/Steven Regal came out, the crowd was dead for this too. Shockingly average. The finish was beyond awful, too. Bryan just lets Moxley pin him after spending far too much in the hold and does very little to try and get the shoulder up, only to feign surprise at the three. For all the talk that Bryan is flawless and perfect, this was a pretty bad effort from him. **1/2"
[8.0] "A good freaking match between this two. Both Mox and Bryan being extremely stiff, as violent as you expected from those two. I would've been mad at this ending, if it wasn't to build up William Regal debuting and teaming up these two."
[8.0] "The guys decided to figure out who is better and in the end they seem to have decided that they are both cool. The slow acceleration of the battle and the gradual transition to a more accelerated pace did not go so smoothly, But rather dragged on. I am not sure that blood was necessary in the match, even though the fighters promised to shed it. As a result, a harsh and brutal fight came out, not a fight, but a fight from a professional point of view. The athletes fought in a similar style and really wanted to prove their legitimacy to each other. Some of Bryan's punches were really impressive, it seemed that Mox would soon pass out, but he fought like a lion. And after the fight, there was a shock moment and William Regal appeared! And then I was really shocked. I remember the fights and the mutual respect between Moxley and Regal, as well as the respect between Bryan and William. In general, the further story intrigues me. Emotions are all positive from me."
[8.0] "Very violent, vicious and brutal match. They tease a slow, clean start but it soon got nasty real quick. Back and forth striking exchange, not a lot of wrestling holds in this one; Bryan did not use his technical skills much here, he did go for a few holds but he opted for a striking exchange instead. The ending was great because it wasn't a very convincing win and protects the wrestler without resorting to cheap shenanigans. If it weren't for a dull crowd, I would have rated it higher; The crowd was tired by this point of the show, having cheered their asses off for more than 2 hrs already. Post match, WiLLIAM REGAL MAKES HIS AEW DEBUT, brings back the crowd and plays negotiator. ****1/4"
[7.0] "Violent, physical match. But AEW has done better physical matches and maybe I actually expected it to be a bit more violent? Nice to see Regal at AEW."
[8.0] "this was pretty similar to Jericho VS Kingston, but these two add the factor of youthness and high wuality wrestling. I felt it a but shorter, and in my opinion I was expecting more of them, but still very thrilling bout. I hope this ends as a new tag team for AEW. [****1/4]"
[9.0] "8.5/10 The best straight up wrestling on the show was in this match. Loved these two sprawling around and trying out different stuff. There should be a rematch down the line."
[6.0] "This was decent, but they didn't follow up on moves as fast as I would have liked to have seen. Danielson proved that he is indeed one of the best in AEW, but Mox was kinda disappointing. The surprise after the match was really cool."
[7.0] "This wasn't the realistically violent meeting I hoped it would be, but both guys at least tried. Sadly, the crowd was completely dead after having been elevated during Punk vs MJF and then heavily underwhelmed for the majority of Britt vs Rosa. Moxley's aggressive brawling meshed very well with Danielson's stiff striking and dominant grappling displays. Those more 'personal' moments where both guys would get in each other's faces and egg each other on were always very engaging. The crowd's lack of real interest sadly still held their interactions back quite a lot, even when both men were doing well to produce some pretty creative exchanges and spots that neatly played off of both their styles and characters. Moxley's no-nonsense 'hard man' character was cool as always, even though a few of his more goofy attacks and selling moments looked pretty stupid, while Danielson's heel arrogance and bloodlust were great. Even taking into account the dead crowd, I can't say these two ever produced any outright great moments together here, instead usually coming right up to the line before backing off. Their effort was still there, but I imagine they would have put together some more intense interactions if they had a fiery crowd to feed off of. I was pretty shocked with the finish as Moxley reversed Danielson's triangle into a pin, but that was at least a pretty creative way for Danielson to remain strong while Moxley was shown to have relied on his in-ring awareness in order to get the win, even if he would have technically lost by going unconscious from the mounted triangle choke if this was a 'real' fight without pinfalls. They definitely need to run this back later down the line with an even bigger build (although the build for this match was still good) and a more considerate card placement so that the crowd doesn't get bored. For now, I'm very excited to see what these two can do as a tag team if that is indeed the route they're taking. ***1/4"
[8.0] "Good lord man these guys were laying it in this match, nothing was held back. While no doubt bloody, I am glad that Moxley and Danielson did not go out of their way to match or overshadow the Dog Collar match earlier on the card and instead worked a more technical, almost strong-style-esque bout that ended in a beautiful counter finish and featured the debuting William Regal. To paraphrase Brian Zane, iff you're looking for a match to show to a newcomer to pro-wrestling, this is it."
[7.0] "Unfortunately brought down by a seemingly tired crowd. I can only imagine loving this if it had the same crowd energy as Kingston vs Jericho. Felt a little underwhelmed by the finish, though it felt justified by the post-match."
[10.0] "This is an elaborate image of Punk vs. Kingston back at Full Gear. That match had me invested to the optimum but the time length of it left me a lot to desire from those two again. This match & the feud had the same intensity in such a short time - package of rage with a huge reason for Moxley to team up with someone who hasn't shed blood with him that clearly explains his character at the best and Danielson as the wily technical mastermind who expected the same and travelled with him to the range Moxley asked. The ending might've left some baffled but it was a genius move that left Bryan in awe that he had to expect the unexpected. William Regal showing up is a berserk move by AEW & it's a huge acquisition indeed! Can't wait to see this story play out with Regal in the mix as we have a new force in the works. 5 out of 5 stars!"
[9.0] "This was excellent and has to be the best match I've seen Moxley have. They beat the shit out of each other for 20 minutes and it was great. Regal appeared post match and got one of the biggest pops of the night... even I got goosebumps. ****1/2"
[8.0] "Frankly, what I liked most about the match was when Willian Regal showed up and forced Bryan and Mox to shake hands. Don't get me wrong, the match was top notch, and it was hard hitting, very violent and bloody, just as Danielson and Moxley had promised. They fought with intensity and overall it was a memorable bout, however the ending was anticlimactic and didn't make sense to me. Danielson is one of the smartest wrestlers on the planet, so it doesn't make sense that he made a mistake that cost him the match, nor is it typical for Moxley to win a match that way. It's understandable that Danielson had to look good, but that finish just made him look stupid."
