[7.0] "Holy shit, an actual wrestling match on the ECW show. Douglas wanted to have a story-driven bout and he accomplished it, delivering a very good underdog contest. In any other environment it probably would have worked even better, because ECW crowd of course was bored at times, since nobody was getting put through a table, but even they were going ballistic for some of Shane's hope spots. It felt big, had a great spot with the Gorilla Press Slam to the outside and the pop for the finish was huge."
[3.0] "The previous match may have been very messy, but at least it was interesting... this was the opposite in both respects. First off, the "Heyman is a Genius" narrative should probably receive a black mark against it for booking this to go NEARLY 30 MINUTES, what was anybody involved thinking? Bigelow was never a long distance runner and is not the kind of guy equipped to elevate a naturally boring guy like Douglas. The build of this feud was also nonsense, Bigelow turns on Triple Threat just as soon as he joined and will be back with them almost immediately after, all without much rhyme or reason. This had its moments but overall felt like a very weak PPV main event, position basically just so Pittsburgh could see Douglas win the belt (which admittedly they were happy to see but I don't think most ECW fans were)."
[5.0] "This was basically a 20-minute headlock. It was also an epic beating for Shane Douglas and then he sneaks the win at the end. It just didn't tell a very good story and didn't really tell it very well either. Had hoped for me seeing it on the card when I pressed play on this event."
[5.0] "This was such a let down maaan. I am for some reason a secret Shane Douglas enjoyer. His is a total cunt and blames everyone else for his failure in the business. But I like his simple wrestling style and endless shoot promos. In This match Bam bam punches shane for 20 minutes and then Douglas gets the win in the end. Boring and basic house show style match but it is what it is. Too long. If it was 10-15 minute it could have worked."
[6.0] "This has the occasional excellently-timed table spot, and some pretty creative weapon moments. But in-between those moments it's very dull & plodding, and went on far longer than it probably should have. Not sure if show saver, but definitely a highlight on what's been a very mediocre show."
[4.0] "This match went on for far longer than Bam Bam was really capable of at this stage, and with him being in control almost the whole match it was extremely slow paced. Had it been half the length it might have been better, but at 25 minutes it was dull, and also it was barely believable that Douglas could take that amount of punishment and still win."
