[9.0] "Awesome What a match! Many, many, many people need to study at ECW with Douglas and Mickey. Although my opinion is that the first PPV fights are necessary for littleknown fighters. And Douglas was already an ECW Champion, as was Whipwreck. They could have made this the third or fourth match, but it's too good for the first one."
[6.0] "A surprisingly well thought out match for ECW standards. Shane Douglas is fresh off losing the TV title and this is just getting some of his heat back before winning the belt back pretty soon after. Mikey continues to be one of the biggest hit-or-miss guys in ECW, his babyface fire is pretty great like diving into the crowd and is genuinely likable but then puts on the worst figure four ever where half of the time sat in the hold it's not actually applied properly. Shane sells the leg real well afterwards though, refusing to hit the ropes on irish whip attempts and after a back and forth whip catches the belly to belly for the finish."
