[7.0] "One of the only times I'll ever want a Tanga Loa match to be longer. Given how important this was for ZSJ I think this needed another few minutes to build the drama. It was a good match for sure and ZSJ in particular was really up for it, but the flash pin was a shame. Excellent run for ZSJ. ***1/2"
[8.0] "This could be the most important match in Zack's career. If he won, he would get a shot in the G1 final. Sadly, it didn't happen. Nevertheless, it was a damn good match, easily the best one from Tanga Loa. He meshed well with Zack, who was hurried to score the win and tried as many ways as possible to end the match. However, his opponent knew to shut down his momentum by using power moves. Tanga Loa then finally stole the win and cost the final match of Zack. If I was Gedo, I would give Zack a chance in the final instead of same old Kota Ibushi for the 4th year in a row. Questionable decision."
[7.0] "Killer match. Loa unleashing his power against a dirty techincal ZSJ. He put over Loa as hell and brought the best of him. Very interesting match even if I feel the ending coming. Nevertheless, ZSJ's run in this G1 was one of the best I've ever seen."
[7.0] "This one was the best match of the show to me. Tanga Loa did a cool performance and Zack Sabre Jr showed very well his awesome technical abilities once again. We have nothing incredible here, and ZSJ's loss was a bit disappointing but it stills a very interesting bout. ***1/4"
[7.0] "The most important match in the already incredible career of Zack Sabre Jr. A win would give him a shot at making the G1 Climax 31, thus putting a bow on what has been a run for the ages. Anything less would mean a heartbreaking end to a career-defining run that is only rivalled by his dominance of New Japan Cup 2018. And after watching what Bullet Club was willing to do to help KENTA in the Shingo Takagi vs. Yujiro Takahashi match, Sabre faced even more of an uphill battle. Tanga Loa has steadily improved as a singles competitor throughout this tournament. He has also pushed quite a few wrestlers to their limit. A big reason why is his combination of power and athleticism, which were advantages he held over ZSJ in this one. That was on full display early and often. As was the communication between Bullet Club members, as Tanga Loa went after the jaw that KENTA injured in the great bout with ZSJ. All in all, that made for a damn good match. ZSJ and the Tilt-a-Whirl sequence were surreal. Most of what he does and did was surreal. I really cannot say enough good things about this one, especially when you throw in the fact that GOD vs. Dangerous Tekkers is a factor here, as well. A damn good match. 3.5 stars, 7 out of 10."
[8.0] "Face paced, and Tanga's athleticism and power meshed well with Zack's speed and submission abilities, definitely Tanga's best match this G1. A roll up reversal got the win for Tanga, and ZSJ gets knocked out of the G1. Pretty good, definitely recommend."
[8.0] "That was awesome! Better than their first match this year. They showed very good pace, chemistry between each other, and of course, this is sequences that repeated, but didn't spoil my impressions of the match. I've enjoyed it bell to bell, so I can say it was Match Of The Night! My rating is 4"
[5.0] "The best efforts come from ZSJ of course, but the match is still not my cup of tea. Tanga Loa came out of the Climax with a great result for him."
[6.0] "Some good exchanges, nothing fancy, but it was okay. The end came a bit by chance and it's a shame for Zack who did a great G1 this year. Seeing him leave the ring looking sad really hurt me."
[7.0] "Not the best match of ZSJ, Loa on the line of his climax adventure but generally the end is like a "boom", not expected so it a good point but the middle of the bout tendend to be a little chaotic but somehow not terrible."
[8.0] "ZSJ yet again gives his opponent their best match of their tournament, he has been this year's clear G1 MVP to me. He comes straight out of the gate with fire and a frantic pace to attempt to pick up the crucial victory in quick order. This hurried approach rather than the usual calculated Submission Master may have been his major downfall, with going for a flash pin being his undoing as Tanga Loa reverses it to pick up the upset win and eliminate Zack from contention. Taking a shortcut and moving away from his submission expertise which gained his previous 6 victories was costly in the end, and could be an interesting factor in his possible upcoming title match with Shingo Takagi. ***3/4"
