[7.0] "A really fun tv match that has a flat finish. Andrade and Pac have really good chemistry and work well together. Andrade had a really good double foot stomp to the outside that Pac learns from later on it the match and was able to avoid it the second time. The finish was lame but an overall fun match. ***1/2"
[7.0] "This was a pretty good match, but I didn't like it as much as Meltzer. It was a cold matchup with no prior heat to build from, so it didn't strike me as important."
[6.0] "Rewatching this years later and it felt like these two wanted two prove something after being left off one of the greatest PPVs ever. While this was non-stop action from start to finish, there was very little connective tissue to hold it together. While both are physically impressive, these two can also work on the mat and fly in a fashion that has some psychology embedded in it. The finish was cheap and seeing how it folded out for Andrade, it would've been better if they kept Chavo with him."
[8.0] "Very good match: both men delivered amazing perfomances and the action was great with lots of cool spots and moments. The ending was bad and kinda ruined everything these two athletes did. Still a great bout, tho. It's a shame that it wasn't at All Out because it would've deserve it. 8/10 - 4*/5*"
[8.0] "Great match with some really cool spots from these guys, unfortunately with a pretty flat finish. Still, that didn't take anything away from my enjoyment of this bout, PAC is an athletic cyborg and Andrade is no slouch either. *4*"
[9.0] "This was really really good, might be Andrades best AEW match, and a big highlight of early Rampage, this should have been the main event, we need more stuff like this on Rampage."
[8.0] "Really good match between Andrade and PAC right here which was super enjoyable to watch from start to finish with two great performers who connect super well with each other, I wouldn't know what else to say to describe this match as it's simply two veterans of this business doing some great wrestling as they know how. It was a dream match for me because these are two of my favorites and while they're capable of even better, I don't think it could have been any better than this for a first encounter in this setting. They both had some brilliant sequences together and have an extremely easy ability to innovate given their extensive movesets so I really felt they had a good chemistry, which they will exploit even more later on but it was clearly good enough for this time even though that ending sucked and I would have liked something clean to give Andrade some well-needed credibility in his first major match in AEW."
[7.0] "Awesome chemistry between two great performers, but I was left with the sense that these guys left stuff on the table for a future rematch on a bigger stage. And just an incredibly lame finish, like come on man."
[8.0] "Fascinating chemistry right off the bat as they clicked instantly. Consequently, they yielded a fantastic showdown of two of the best wrestlers in the world. This was highly influenced from the Lucha libre style with the flashy and catchy high-flying maneuvers. Also, I loved how they started off hot throwing haymakers within the initial moments. They meant business and not only this but it also reflects the brewing hatred among the individuals. This is further enforced by the fearless wrestling , high-risk maneuvers and big moves thrown at each other. There is too many to count but if I were to point out the best out of the best, it would be Andrade's DDT where he leaps to the outside and connecting with the tornado DDT of sorts as it appeared to look like and the torpedo outside of the ring to follow. PAC's immediate belly-to-belly , snap German and the moon sault press to the outside as well as the tribute to his idol 'Hayabusa' with the fire-bird. After a arduous and tiring span of a hard-fought battle, he locks Andrade in the brutalizer and it seems Andrade has no way out until Chavo orders and successfully implements the interruption plan causing Andrade to achieve the easy victory. Other moves that I really liked were the .crucifix bomb by PAC, double stomps with PAC trapped in the tree of woe and the sunset flip powerbomb reversed by Andrade as he moon-saults out of it only to be kicked on the mush right after by PAC. It was a test or battle of toughness and endurance. The crowd was heavily invested, on its feet and complimenting the efforts of the competitors. The pacing was rapid and I loved every bit of it. The lack of depth hinders it from garnering a higher rating but regardless it was still a banger and it slapped hard. The Andrade we were waiting for finally arrived and PAC gave him the much needed kick-start. Win-win situation for both. ****1/4"
[8.0] "I really enjoyed this match and showed that Andrade is still a top level worker that can still go and just needed a bit of time to get the WWE style rust of him. Took a while to get the crowd going but it did by the end and PAC is always amazing and remains the most underrated wrestler around. ***3/4"
[7.0] "I was really happy about this match. After a real boring match with Matt Sydal, I was worried that Andrade was just not gonna have any great matches in AEW like he did in NXT. Granted, I wouldn't call this a classic or anything, but I liked it! I still think PAC should be the Eternal champion of the galaxy, he rules."
[8.0] "Great match it was ! Andrade could display it all in the very first part of the match while PAC took it over almost getting the win if it wasn't for Chavo! I wasn't fan of this ending by the way wanted to have not totally a clean finish but a non physique interference I'll say. Anyway this was a banger I thought!"
[5.0] "This was an alright match but felt aimless without any psychology whatsoever. Just 2 athletic guys hitting a bunch of moves until a very 'sports entertainment' finish. I know that sounds like i just buried the entire match but it was solid from an in-ring standpoint. Both men are slick with their offense and kept a good pace throughout. A few awkward moments but nothing bad. Easily the best Andrade has looked in a long time. The finish was pretty awful as PAC survived so many moves just to lose to a weak iPad shot to the back. That's some WWE shit right there. **3/4"
[5.0] "I felt this was a solid enough first match. The one to follow was much better. I think it was a good show of promise for Andrade and PAC was the right opponent."
[7.0] "A little disappointing, but still a good match overall. Feels like they were on autopilot for the most part, and neither men seemingly motivated until the last 5 mins or so. Kind of a lame finish too. [***1/2]"
[8.0] "Good match, with two great wrestlers who prove again who they are. Andrade is still a real technician with very precise movements, as it was at NXT. The match deserve a better ending, but it was still very satisfying."
[8.0] "Good fun and well-paced action. PAC and Andrade had a quite good chemistry. Pity that the crowd was a bit dreadful during some sequences but they managed to wake them upon the end. The ending makes sense according to me. Great showace for Idolo, the first with Matt Sydal was below in what he's capable of."
[8.0] "This was really good! The hard strikes and big spots made it feel really intense, but it wasn't just a spotfest by any means. For example, I usually dislike the tree of woe double stomp, but I loved how logically Andrade set it up here, and then how PAC was able to lure him in for a reversal the second time. Clever stuff. I didn't hate the finish, but I did feel it was a little underwhelming given the intensity of the match that preceded it. I find it hard to buy that a gentle shot from an iPad would put PAC down for three. It created some intrigue though. I always like when wrestlers object to their heel managers getting involved: it's a nice twist on an old formula."
[7.0] "Good match, but as a casual AEW watcher the ending made no sense to me. They have to do better with explaining these things, whether its on commentary or in a video package. Other than that they worked well, I think theres still time until we (hopefully) get Andrade doing the fantastic work we saw from years back, but for now he's still a good worker and show good chemistry with PAC."
[8.0] "This was a great match, but the finish really took it down for me. They were doing great, even with a slower pace than expected mixed with impressive moves, but the ending was crap. ****"
[8.0] "The finish wasn't good, but PAC did need to be protected so I get it. Andrade looked the best he has here since leaving WWE and PAC reminded everyone he is one of the best in AEW."
[9.0] "Pretty great match, and certainly the best that Andrade has looked since leaving AEW. I was impressed by both guys, they seemed highly motivated."
[7.0] "An enjoyable fireworks show between two dynamic wrestlers who laid in their strikes. The big spots were all set up naturally and never veered into ridiculous or unbelievable territory. The finish was somewhat cheap, but it served as a precursor to Andrade ditching Chavo, so it worked out in the end. Very good match. ***1/2"
[6.0] "A few really nice spots here but there's something missing from the match itself. It isn't captivating outside of the dives, but I did think it was entertaining enough for a '7' right up until that ending. Not only was the finish a boring way to end it but the cameras were torn between the Lucha Bros kicking the assistant guy and Chavo and it made the whole thing feel so weak and anti-climactic. And then Andrade, who has been sending mixed signals since the beginning, ditches his second manager since his debut (third if you want to count Ric Flair in Mexico). Even though I think that overall this match was okay, I still think that All Out was better served by not having it. Andrade did look the best he's looked since his debut, though."
"Explosive, action-packed match to start off the show. I was a little worried that Andrade might get lost in the mix with all the recent debuts, but this incredible performance by him completely eliminated those fears and showed that he is still someone to keep an eye on. This was an Andrade we haven't seen since NXT, and it seems like this match has made him even more motivated and fired up to deliver. The finish was necessary but did kill the momentum of the match at the end."
[8.0] "Great match but the finish was horrid. AEW must not fall in this overbooking stuff less if they are supposed to be an alternative to the same thing."
[8.0] "This felt like a WCW Cruiserweight Title match. This is definitely the match that we were going to get at All Out on PPV. Not even the shenanigans at the end of the match could ruin how awesome this match was. After the match, Andrade turns on Chavo Jr., which looked strange, but may open the door for Ric Flair to come in and become Andrade's new manager. Rating for this match: ****1/4"
[8.0] "A slow pace to start this match as both men inevitably showed hesitation in pursuing their game plan. That ultimately led to an explosive encounter flush with massive moves by both men. These elite wrestlers wanted to prove they could outdo the other in a battle that really boiled down to which wrestler would hit their signature maneuvers first. I know that sounds cliche, but it was actually an interesting story as both wrestlers pretty much unloaded their arsenal in a battle of psychological warfare through showmanship. Two of the very best in the world looking to prove that their collection of moves is superior. There were some genuine ? holy sh? moments throughout, as well as the tremendous moment of PAC proving that you can? t fool him twice. The ending was a bit of a letdown, but the match was excellent. 4 stars, 8 out of 10."
[6.0] "The match sees two talents without their best shape as of now with a storytelling giving Andrade in a better condition than his debut with Sydal. More or less mission accomplished."
[7.0] "7.7/10: Starts off with a weird pace. A weird structureless-ness about the whole match. Redeemed by some great spots and undeniable talent. I? ll say the same thing I said on my last AEW match: AEW needs to start putting on the (singles) wrestling classics its roster is capable of or it? s not the alternative/competitor/purist? s favorite it wants to be. That? s what it? s missing and it? s a jarring miss."
[8.0] "Very good match but I feel like they would've had a better match had this been at All Out, but they did a great job here. The finish lacked a little bit though, I guess they want Andrade to be managed by Ric Flair?"
[7.0] "Ending stages were worth-watching, otherwise it was just usual good match. I hated finish, hope we'll get rematch. Good match, Still think it was going to be better if it was happening at All Out. (***3/4)"
[8.0] "This was pretty good, both men can definitely go inside the ring, but it wasn't quite the spectacle that was expected, and this match perhaps suffered from not being at All Out like it was scheduled to be. The ending was a bit messy too, but overall, the action was good, smooth, silky movements from both competitors. Could've used a few more minutes in the ending stretch."
[7.0] "Great match at points, which showcased Andrade's and PAC's unique offense. I do not mind the interference finish as much, as it led directly to some necessary story development with Andrade. It was foreshadowed a week ago that Chavo is working behind Andrade's back without his consent and it is great to see this story finally move forward."
[9.0] "Great match, Andrade has not yet hit it, but it was very very good nonetheless. PAC is, on the other hand, one of the best in the world. Fast-paced, nice mimics and gestures and good payoff afterwards."
[7.0] "Good athletic contest between two extremely talented wrestlers. Both tried to prove that they are the better athlete. Didn't liked the finish but PAC didn't take a clean loss so hopefully a rematch soon."
[8.0] "In my opinion, this match would've been an instant classic if it had at least 5 more minutes and a clean finish. Before that finish, I probably would have given it a 9/10 but that finish was terrible, hopefully, there will be a rematch."
[7.0] "I don't remember the last time I take real pleasure watching a AEW match. Yes I can have been a lot better and the finish sucks but those two are without a doubt two of the best athlete (and in my opinion the two best with Danielson and Fenix) in AEW right now. Really god match. [70] *** 1/2"
"I did not like the end of the match but the action overall was good and close to perfection. PAC being PAC, which is great, and Andrade showed some smart new offensive that elevated the match"
