[7.0] "Easily the best and most interesting match on-this-card. Though Ashino recently failed in his attempt to unseat champ Jake Lee, this was fought at enough of-a 50-50 split that it was uncertain who would prevail. The last five minute exchange of suplexes, etc was the highest-quality and most intense action of the first round. I liked that Ashino won-a-match in-which the ankle-hold wasn't both the reason-for & wasn't as much of a factor as it usually is. 3 3/10 - 1/3 rounded-up"
[7.0] "This was the best match of the show and the only really good one if I'm honest. Aoyagi targeted Ashino's leg, who didn't sell it flawless but it was decent. However, the ending stretch was on fire, they traded great lariats and german suplexes."

[8.0] "Ashino didn't waste much time going after the ankle of Yuma, he was doing good work at it so Yuma started targeting Ashino's arm and that gave him more control in the earlier part ofthe match. Ashino sold the damaged arm well throughout the match. Both guys suplexes looked great in this match. I loved the counter of Ashino's ankle lock into his submission by Yuma. Finish was just Ashino destroying Yuma with his suplexes. Really fun main event. 7. 50/10"
[8.0] "This one was the best match of the show and the best match of the first round of this Royal Road Tournament. Shotaro Ashino attacked very well Aoyagi's leg, and Aoyagi was great in his role too. His German Suplex, used a little bit like Miyahara, was awesome. Then he did even more German Suplexes to Ashino during an exchange and it was so cool to watch. Ashino brings his Ankle Lock so well, it's a pleasure to watch. ****"
