The match itself wasn't much to write home about. That being said, the SmackDown women's title match originally got left off the WrestleMania 33 main show and was relegated to the pre-show, despite SmackDown having had the much better women's division post brand-split. It was changed by popular demand, but I assume that the reason it was left off in the first place had to do with a lack of a compelling story going into the match. Naomi winning here really felt like blowing their load too early, you could've saved the Naomi title chase for WrestleMania and had a cool story out of it. This just felt rushed and kinda out of nowhere. |
