Also, some people in this rumble was a waste of time like Jillian Hall, Santana Garrett, and Billie Kay. Some good moments and some moments that were a massive waste of time."

[7.0] "Good game. The spots are not bad, the comedy works very well with Billie Kay. The intervention of R-Truth and the 24/7 title in the match breaks the rhythm, too bad. Bianca Belair enters in 3, stays over 2 min. then we don't see her again until the Final Four except during the elimination of Bayley which incidentally happened off-screen and was shown on replay. The finale between Ripley and Belair was really good. (3*3/4)"

[6.0] "One of the rare case (especially in Women's rumbles) of a rumble where the first half is way better than the second part. This rumble has the strongest start of any Women's Rumble, but it all goes to waste once the rotten storyline of Lacey Evans vs Charlotte enters theroom. After that, the rumble never really picks up with moments like the 24/7 invasion, the Carmella/Reggie stuff or the Alexa Bliss' nothingness ... The final three is quite cool though, but not as emotionnal as the 2019 one. 6/10."
Mike Ehrmantraut wrote on 24.07.2023:

[6.0] "The pandemic rumble for the women. This means a lot of theatrics. I loved Billie Kay's whole bit and wish it went on longer really. The 24/7 title stuff is very fun too. If you can't handle gaga this isn't for you. This is also a rumble full of Rhea Ripley. She gets in tons of offense, eliminations, and bumps. One thing against this rumble is the camera misses a lot of good stuff. How that's possible in the thunderdome era I have no idea. There's an ugly edit with the 24/7 title portion. Who knows what they were covering up cuz I watched this live and I don't remember anything weird. Bianca looks pretty good but still a lot of her work is bad. The final two is fun cuz they represent the future of this division- they gang up on and boot the old-timer Flair. This gets an extra point for the Billie Kay stuff, and the Rhea stuff, but loses it for the lack of star power. The women's rumble has been pretty thick with old-timers, most of who look great in there. However this was during the pandemic, so probably not too many wanting to risk anything for one rumble appearance."

I was especially impressed with Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley here, who really go out of their way to put on one of their best WWE performances to date. The surprise entrants were fun, too, with lots of good showing from the legends and the NXT rookies. The final three sequences in particular took this up to a new notch for me. [***1/2]"

[8.0] "We've had 5 women's Rumbles so far, including 2022, and this one still stands out as the best women's Rumble to be done. The starting two were great picks and Bianca's entry not only solidified her chance of being the iron woman but also making her win here as a historic one by the numbers. Apart from Bianca, Naomi & Rhea Ripley stole the show with Bayley garnering a close call. The legends had a fun outing here with Victoria & Torrie Wilson leaving a very good impression while NXT had their arsenal show out and stand out in Dakota Kai, Shotzi Blackheart etc. This match had the entries and exits almost right with a good mix of past stories and future setups. The final three was a great showdown which was surpassed by the even better final two face-off between Ripley & Belair. I wouldn't have been unhappy if Ripley won here as she is another star who needs a well deserved start but Belair winning felt the same with an added feel of organic elation. 4 out of 5 stars!"

Billie Kay had a fun little segment, Victoria's return was awesome to see, and I loved the smart handling of the Alexa Bliss character. However, where this match really shines is it's final 3. The ending sequence had me at the edge of my seat, and made for a pretty great rumble."

The return of Torrie Wilson and Victoria were a good surprise and the NXT Superstars were a really big part of this Rumble. The win of Bianca is the right move, she deserves the win and I think that she has give the performance of a lifetime entering with the number 3 and going the distance. Great performance by Bayley too, and it's a shame that the cameras didn't catch her elimination LIVE, but it's noone fault. Great match by Rhea Ripley too, she was a perfect last elimination and I hope to see her on the Main Roster very soon. A ReMatch against Charlotte is what she needs to be the winning machine she was last year."

I hoped to see some crazy stunts there before she gets eliminated. Rhea and Dana Brooke struggling with each other on the ring apron was a great spot. Even better was Ric Flair entering the rumble. I was like: What the hell going on here? It cracked me up. In fact, it was Lacey Evans who entered the action wearing Ric's robe, doing his movement and walk. Another fun segment was with R-Truth and Alicia Fox. That match was great."

Charlotte, Ripley and Belair tore the house down. Charlotte got eliminated by Belaor and Ripley and she just smiled at them; So badass. When WWE gave two new and fresh up and coming stars as the final two of a Rumble, I was extremely excited. Belair and Ripley gave an incredible finishing performance and I would have been okay with either women winning but Bianca was my pick and I was elated that she won. ****"

[8.0] "An incredible showing and probably the match of the night all things considered, and one of my favorite Rumbles here in the last few years, to boot. Everyone played their parts really well. The opening with Bayley and Naomi was super fun, and then Bianca appearing took everything to the next gear. Billie held a lot of the early stuff together with her comedy and her really entertaining dynamic, and the mini-story of her trying to find a partner, stay with the Riott Squad, and get back together with Peyton was all just really entertaining and a little heartfelt besides. Meanwhile, Rhea Ripley looked like an absolute monster as soon as she showed up - as it should be. There wasn't a single thing I really didn't like here, except maybe just how fast all the NXT girls like Ember and Dakota went out, but just seeing them on that stage was nice, and we had Rhea dominate, so it's hard to complain too loudly. Bianca, Charlotte, and Rhea were the perfect final three, too, and the spots with Bianca and Rhea working together - and then working together to get themselves back in the ring for a proper final sequence? Wonderful. Once it was down to those two I was happy to just enjoy the ride and see who walked out the winner, as both were clear standout stars, and I wasn't disappointed. Here's hoping Bianca really does put the EST in Wrestlemania."

[8.0] "An absolutely fantastic Rumble - probably the best and most consistent women's RR yet, and one that absolutely put the men's to shame. A good choice of early entrants, and Billie Kay having such a key story in the opening stages was unexpected but an absolute delight. She was genuinely hilarious on the commentary booth, the entrance ramp and once she got in the ring too, and there's an impressively detail-rich story being told with just her facial expressions and pauses. Fun moments from the likes of Lacey Evans, Naomi & Carmella, and some great showdown segments for the final three (and then the final two) competitors. It's not perfect - some impressive performers got disappointingly little to do, and Natalya was a total bore as the #30 entrant (as well as trying to callback to her short-lived alliance with Lana, which is not fondly remembered, if it's even remembered at all) - but this was thoroughly entertaining from start to finish. Absolutely star-making performance for the winner, and an honestly outstanding performance from Billie Kay as well. Easily the match of the night."

[3.0] "Wanna make it clear that this rating is not related to the result, that was the exact right decision and the post-match was an incredible and emotional moment. This fell into the trap of many Royal Rumbles, with a majority of the match being competitors crowded in every corner trying to lift each other up at a glacial pace with little story throughout. The Billie Kay stuff early on was funny, but it got way too much screen time, with it often taking up nearly half of the time between entrances. The early payoff was fun with her joining forces with Jillian Hall, but Jillian looked very bad in the ring and was obviously not fit to be in the match. Their eventual split was pretty dumb too, it just kinda happened to happen without any real reason behind it. Shayna Baszler was a highlight early on, but her aura is noticeably weaker than back in the 2020 rumble. Though I think Belair was probably the best choice to win, Rhea Ripley was the best part of this match, they really let her dominate as she should have, and her explosiveness alongside her imposing aura really let her shine in that role. The stuff with Charlotte Flair and Lacey Evans was very dumb, Charlotte is supremely unlikeable and seemed to be leaning into that most of the match but then we? re meant to feel sympathetic for Charlotte because her notoriously unlikeable dad is backing a different heel now? Very awkward and poorly executed, made me want to see the spotlight on someone else rather than whatever resolution they? re building towards here. The stuff with Lana and eventually Natalya kinda sucked, Lana? s character is essentially that she? s a bad, annoying wrestler and somehow we? re expected to sympathize with her and believe her to be a serious competitor against women presented as actual threats. I wanna say Natalya is a bad heel, but in all honesty she? s a bad face too, a good wrestler who is remarkably bad at evoking emotion from the audience outside of sympathy pops for being a Hart. Nia Jax was terrible here too, I don? t remember Nia being this out of shape and visibly clumsy, but I also haven? t seen any of her matches since nearly two years ago so it? s hard to say if that? s just me not remembering how bad she really is. The stuff with her, Tamina, and Shayna was nonsensical, why is it so hard for wrestlers and agents to understand that it doesn? t make logical sense for partners to betray each other before the very end of the rumble.. Then Nia and Shayna coming back into the ring after they were eliminated made sense I guess, but it really didn? t serve anyone who was still in the match or the match itself, though that doesn? t seem to be on the forefront of the minds of the people who put this match together. The ending was pretty good, it felt a little overly choreographed but it was still a nice moment to see Belair finally ascend to the mountaintop. Overall a pretty bad match with a good ending. Go out of your way to see the last few minutes and avoid the rest of the match."

A match that lasts for an hour and when it is over, you wonder where were those minutes that just passed. Such an easy watch, Bianca Belair bumped her ass off, giving us the most cool spots of the match. She battled it out with most relevant wrestlers. There were memorable cameos and the Billie Kay comedy spots were on point. This was the better rumble match of the two."
sanjuro wrote on 01.02.2021:
[9.0] "Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful Rumble, booked exactly the way that a Rumble should be. You had your nostalgia pops, your comedy workers, a steady flow and actual honest-to-god storyline continuity between numerous wrestlers. Most importantly you saw a number of women working hard to grab the proverbial brass ring. Baszler had technically won in the pre-show but worked like someone pissed off at getting shown up by the former tag champs. Rhea Ripley absolutely hulked up and made up a lot of lost ground to recent bad booking. Naomi was absolutely stellar and reminded everyone that the only reason she isn't considered one of the luminaries of the "Women's Revolution" is that she was just a few years ahead of her time, while Bayley may not have been as dynamic in the ring but continues to perfect her heel character. Belair, like a lot of marathon Rumble winners, admittedly spent a lot of time in the corners resting, but she looked phenomenal when it counted, getting beautiful exchanges with a lot of the established stars and had outstanding moments with both Naomi and Ripley in getting back up from pending elimination. Loved the symbolism of Belair and Ripley, easily the two standouts of their crop of incoming women's talent, joint-eliminating Charlotte, then they had a hellacious closing final two between them. The women's Rumbles have been works in progress, with the first having a lot of sweet but self-serving nostalgia pops that allowed the company to pretend it cared about women before 2015, the second being mostly garbage until Becky punched her way in, and a forgettable 2020 Rumble. But this was the complete package, and barring the occasional ugly spot (Shayna deserves a bonus for forcing herself to punch as bad as Nia to not completely outclass her) everything you could want from a Rumble."

[6.0] "(Don't usually go for this format but fits a Rumble) // Pros: The right final 3 was in there. They know they have 2 people in Bianca and Rhea they need to build up and strap a rocket to (or at least I hope so? ); Lana was used exactly as she should have been. Got a symbolic amount of revenge after the weird "taking you out of the blowoff match" deal; While there was a moment with too many people in the ring at once without a lot happening, I never felt at any point like the Rumble was dragging. Even when it was "just there", they just kept pushing it along; No eliminations purely for miss-guided and unnecessary heat; This new camera works wonders with Ripley's entrance. Just looked badass as hell; Glad to see Victoria showing up! // Cons: Jerry Lawler... Why is this guy being thirsty af on my ears in 2021? ; Bayley's elimination was wasted by bad execution, bad camera work and way too early. It should have been a big deal for Bianca to eliminate her and that's why it should have happened within the final 5; Because Rhea Ripley was derailed by a non-sensical loss last year at Wrestlemania, the fact that the Charlotte elimination was a joint venture, and not just her alone, takes away the small redemption that moment should have been. Plus, Bianca already eliminated Bayley (which, they failed to make a big deal) and was the iron woman of the match, she did not need to take part in that moment; // While I'm happy they are pushing Belair and I can't fault this too much in the score, I truly believe Rhea should have won. I think it was important to make Bianca a star but it was to build up another Rumble where she would eventually win (next year maybe? ). Rhea actually needed this and just by Survivor Series 2019 alone has more of a main-roster resume to take this next step. Match was fine enough but I can't say there was anything exciting in it for the most part either. Bianca is a can't miss star... Please don't defy those odds WWE."

The obvious MVPs of this match were Naomi (who I'm happy to see back) and Bianca Belair, and the obligatory Kofi Kingston Wild Royal Rumble Spot Naomi does every year was pretty unique and imaginative. Really cool seeing Belair and Ripley as the final two, and it's nice to see WWE give the win to a young up-and-coming star who could actually use the win and deserves a title shot at Wrestlemania, unlike certain other Royal Rumble matches I could mention.... Also if she decides to stay on Smackdown, having two Black women compete one-on-one in a title match for the first time ever at Wrestlemania (actually I think the first time ever regardless of event or TV show? ) would be really cool."
