Chris Jericho vs. William Regal

[6.0] "Better match than the Backlash one but middle point between that and the WrestleMania one, this one was good and good chemistry of Regal and Jericho, but doesn't have an outstanding performance in ring to highly highlight it for me. 6/10 [***1/2]"

[6.0] "[2.75*] Sure. That was a solid enough match for the rivalry standards/story. Definitely better than their Back-lash 01 match. Maybe it's because they took their time to do some work, it was indeed solid and there was some good stuff here, it's satisfying and I liked Regal's Performance in this one. He works interestingly for the stories he's in. Jericho is up and down I feel in this year so far, he give us one of the best matches of the decade with Benoit in their ladder match, but after that he's gone, this is a silly feud anyways and I'm not enjoying it but there is some enjoyable stuff in it tho, it seems that they'll continue with this."

[9.0] "I love Regal and he had pretty good matches with Jericho, this is probably the very best of them. Jericho was on a pretty strong run in 01 and Regal knew exactly how to play the match in front of the UK crowd."

[6.0] "Honestly, a surprisingly good match. They didn't let the fact that it was a UK PPV drag their performance down like a lot of others. The timing of these two was pretty much perfect. They were both exactly on time for what the other was doing, so the counters and sequence changes along with the mat wrestling looked outstanding. The only blemish is, the matches seems to go on for longer than they had material for. They start going through a lot of rest holds at the end that fumble the match just a bit. If they were able to keep the pace they'd built up throughout, this would have gotten an even better score. Still a really good matchup, but couldn't close it out as good as it opened."

[7.0] "As much as I enjoyed the silliness with the match at Backlash, I'm happy these two got to have a proper wrestling match in the UK and it's probably the best match in the rivalry. Some of the crowd does cheer for Regal in his home country, but he does a great job working a natural style to give him some heat where he gets in some chin locks to work Jericho over, there's one spot where he gets in cheap shots with Jericho tied to the ropes and they do a classic golden era bit where he locks in a sleeper and Jericho fights out just as the ref is about to drop his arm for a third time. Jericho fights great from under and it felt like he had to did deep to win. Very solid match and Regal does a good beat down after the match where he breaks Jericho's new trophy over him."

[8.0] "This was easily the best match that regal and Jericho had, great work from both of them and worth checking out again"

[7.0] "Their Mania match was too short, they Backlash one had a fun stipulation, but this one was a great pure wrestling match. Regal was phenomenal once again with his fantastic character work, showing loads of personality and Jericho worked his usual, fast style that is always nice to watch. Even the fans mostly booed William which shows what a great heel he was and they were loud throughout the whole bout. Overall a very good way to end their feud."

[6.0] "Nice wrestling sequence. Regal takes down Jericho with a hammerlock but makes a mistake by waving to the fans while sitting on the second rope and gets drop kicked. Jericho with a rana and a pin for 2. Regal counters a dropkick with a slingshot onto the top rope and almost drops Jericho on his head with one of those dangerous Tazz back suplexes. Double jumping knees to the head and a wave for the hometown crowd. Headlock to kill time, and Jericho fights up. Outside and Jericho gets posted. Back inside Regal beats Jericho down and Chris fights back and eats boot on a blind charge. Enzuiguri puts Regal down. Jericho with the chops and a clothesline followed by a missile dropkick for 2. Regal cutter is block and bulldog by Jericho. Jericho goes for the lion sault but gets knees on the landing. Jericho counters a German suplex and goes into the walls and gets the submission. Regal beats up Jericho post match."

[5.0] "Pretty standard fare stuff here. Well executed but nothing about this really stood out--especially compared to the Angle/Benoit match right before it, which was the same length but much more exciting overall."
