I'm extremely surprised he's retiring, but glad it wasn't to that piece of shit Gunther. Apparently, sending off legends this way is just how WWE does things."

Let's face it, the finisher fest formula is already pretty overused these days, imagine these short ones in the Brock Lesnar style that are just finishers and suplexes. [**]"
[5.0] "Will never care for these super short Lesnar matches where he does nothing of interest even if its in service of pushing a future star like Oba. Not a fan of Oba no selling an F5 either. The booking of the result is fine but the match itself is whatever."
[4.0] "Five minutes of incomprehensible spectacle. The usual spam of finishers with no psychology, technique, or moves, just a fun exchange of finishers, that's all. These two had incredible potential, but they didn't realize it."
[5.0] "Didn't enjoy the finisher fest - not my type of match. The moves did look hard enough but the match itself just went from finisher to finisher. I would've enjoyed more suplex city or more moves than just finishers themselves."
[5.0] "A weak sub-5-minute match in terms of in-ring action. The only good thing was the right winner. The match should have lasted about twice as long. Nothing remarkable was shown, and in such a short time, these performers would not have been able to show anything anyway. It was almost a squash match. However, I feel like the period of control by Femi at the start of the match was too short, and it could have been used better to put over the idea of him being even more dominant. Also, as it is a personal complaint of mine, I hate that they had a period outside the ring without the ref ever starting the count."
[7.0] "A 5 minute wrestling banger and a star-making performance from Femi. Lesnar got dominated. rag-dolled and taken to the cleaners. Oba had the upper-hand going into Sunday and he proved that he can talk the talk and walk the walk as well. Emotional moment as Lesnar retires directly after ofc since im from the future, I already know that the WWE completely ruined the uniquiness and essence of the moment a few months later. ***1/2"
[8.0] "I didn't know how I wanted to grade this one, so I came up with this, it was a great match based on its length, the story leading up to this and the way it turned out was unexpected in a good way considering it took a fall from grace to Brock Lesnar to take him down on a episode of raw. This basically set up Oba's future and I think WWE is using him the best way possible right now. Brock's "retirement" made sense then, but watching it now is kind of underwhelming. So to summarize this match, Oba was to strong and durable for Brock. But this match was still really good.****"
[7.0] "A good match that I would summarize as just right, perhaps it should have lasted a little longer but considering that they want to build Oba as a great dominant force, and the fact that it is Brock's last match (whether at Wrestlemania or of his career) makes it seem like the right time"
[10.0] "One of the most absolutely insane wrestlemania moments ever in the era of professional wrestling for the WWE, I'm so happy that it is a career highlight and it was given the opportunity to be even under the proper 5 minute margin, absolutely unbelievable man, wow, just amazing."
[9.0] "I do agree here that this was the actual right call. You want to put Oba over as the next big thing and the scariest person in the locker room, have him squash the Beast, Brock Lesnar. Yes, the action wasn't much, but for the action we got it was decent and didn't have any botches. Although I am typing this after the fake retirement, the retirement was very convincing and still means that Oba retired him the first time. (I guess) I really do think that the hype going into this match, and the atmosphere surrounding this match and the arena made this match even better. [****1/4]"
[6.0] "In a lense of aura and atmosphere, this is the second best match of Wrestlemania weekend, unfortunately the action in the match itself is really lackluster and clunky. The red herring retirement does make me tempted to shift this to being a 2-3/10 since that whole aura of the night has been entirely destroyed so Brock Lesnar can ensure none of the camera time is on Oba in his win, but looking beyond that the powerbomb and the crowds reaction to it are what give this it's 6/10. It's 10 minutes of television that pragmatically only exists for one move, but damn was that move badass, unfortunately the rest of the match/segment is the textbook definition of a nothingburger meant to farm engagement."
[8.0] "A really, really good match. It was short, sweet, and impactful as it needed to be. Brock put Oba over here, and now that he is back, this sets up their rematch."
[6.0] "I seriously think this could've been great. Brock Lesnar is at his best when he wrestles like he's trying to kill and not just playing with his food and they booked Oba Femi to not be toyed with. Oba also works really well when he doesn't have to be concerned with hurting his opponent because he throws himself at Brock and it's thrilling. The issue is much like the rest of the card, it's too short but this was never going to go long. Not saying this needed to go the distance but Oba winning after one Fall From Grace felt unearned and a bit flat on rewatch. Don't care for the fake retirement afterwards either but I was never really convinced by it to be honest"
[5.0] "When i first saw this match, i thought it was solid, Oba beating Brock in under 5 minutes in domaining fashion was great and was seemingly the retirement of Brock Lesner... until he came back a month later and attacking Oba, making this match all for nothing. What was the point of having Brock take off his gloves and boots and have him leave them in the ring if you're just gonna bring him back a month later."
[3.0] "If it was actually the retirement match, then maybe this would be a few points higher, but WWE doesn't seem to want to give Oba the big rub without complicating it in some way. As it was on the night, it was a fine, if maybe a bit too long, squash match; I would've had Lesnar give no defence at all like the Goldberg match ten years ago. But he gave just enough to bring it to that awkward "is he trying or not? " medium of later stage Brock matches that started to get old very quickly. But alas, we have to suffer the Piss Man for another few months yet. Let's hope the likely swan-song in Minneapolis is another fake-out."
[2.0] "Was perfect but now it's completely pointless because brock had to come back. It was nice to see Oba win but it would have been so much better if brock Lesnar had actually retired instead of coming back for a stupid and pointless rematch at clash in Italy which will probably end with brock Lesnar squashing Oba and burying him and then he'll actually retire at Summerslam to Gunther. Completely stupid"
[1.0] "Now that we know that Brock's retirement was fake I can confidently say that this match was complete garbage. A completely pointless squash match that was basically just a worse version of the Goldberg match at Survivor Series. It wasn't intense, wasn't fun, didn't have anything impressive and somehow felt like it overstayed it's welcome despite it's sub-5 minute length, not to mention Brock fake crying in the ring in the aftermatch for what felt like a decade. If this would have been Brock's actual retirement match you couldve argued that it was him putting the new "next big thing" over on his way out but the following weekly shows have demonstrated that this clearly wasn't what this was, as instead of immediately being thrown in the world title picture - which you would expect considering he just massacred the guy who was built as the final boss of the company for years - Oba spent weeks squashing jobbers in meaningless open challenges while waiting for brock to come back from vacation so they can resume their feud."
[8.0] "This was the best possible approach for this match. Oba Femi had to completely dominate Brock Lesnar and establish himself as a conqueror coming in, and that's exactly what WWE decided to do. It was absolutely the right way to handle this match. The rivalry itself was just as well done, and this match perfectly brought it to a close. It was also an excellent idea to have Oba no-sell the F5, as it really emphasized toughness and resilience."

Both guys are monsters and this is a clash of titans as expected, the crowd was super hot. Brock hit an F5 on Oba, but he stood up and hit his finisher on Lesnar right afterwards, winning the match and establishing himself as the next big thing, just like Brock was when he started - {***1/2}"

His retirement has been needed to save the product from his appearances for a very, very long time. Oba Femi is honestly the best opponent to do so as he is the next generation's big beast wrestler and will hopefully have many more and improved WM moments. The match itself was bad but the moment was great for Oba."

[6.0] "Right i thought this was a cool match for what it was and what it needed to be (in the same way as Divine Dominion vs Babes of Wrath) where we needed a quick but decisive result to put over a new imposing star. But then as it was 5 minutes it was just a lot of aura farming and some no selling before Oba won with the chock slam and the fall from grace. Like i always say WWE deserve no praise for their booking of Oba because it is literally impossible to fuck up this was the most slam dunk thing they could of done. Yeah couldn't give less of a fuck Lesnar retired hopefully we never have to see the scumbag again. Well booked but again it was more of an angle then an actual match. (***)"
[10.0] "My favorite match of this Mania personally thought it was the perfect building of a new star. Oba looked super dominant and Brock did business in what appears to be his final match. Just exactly what I wanted."
[6.0] "A bit too short for my liking. This, of course, was exactly what it should have been, no complaints about that. But at the end of the day, Brock Lesnar is an incredible professional wrestler. If you really wanted to extract a classic, and especially so considering this was his last WM ever, I can show you many examples like the all-time classic Punk vs Brock match from 2013 SummerSlam or the WrestleMania 31 main event. Brock and Oba could've put up a great 15-20 minute match with high-stakes offense and exchanges with of course, violence. This would've not only retired Brock with a great last WM match and would've made Oba's journey forward much easier since its now impossible to take Oba seriously as a character anymore if he spends any more than 2-3 minutes with anybody in kayfabe since he retired Brock Lesnar in less than 5 minutes. Its logic, I guess. I also didn't want Brock's final WM match to be this short."
"[4.25*] So my mission to catch up on the Past year of Pro Wrestling after having not watched anything since Post Mania 41 starts here. And my first ever comment on this website.And what a way to start. This was amazing. It just goes under 5 minutes and serves its purpose perfectly, which is to put Oba over big time and pass the torch to him. And boy did they get it right. While yes, this could've been a Finisher-Fest and fast paced match with loads of high spots, they didn't need to do it, because this was a better way to put Oba over. Oba takes some perfect Germa Suplexes, No Sells an F-5 and won with a single Fall From Grace. This was lovely to watch honestly. The 2nd best match of this whole show."

Brock got just enough in to have Oba "break a little sweat", but Oba answered back emphatically for a decisive win."

[8.0] "Any other way this would've gone with any other two wrestlers, this wouldn't have hit as well. But this was done as well as it could've been done. An absolutely brilliant way to introduce Oba Femi to the big stage, as he should've been, and a swansong (which could've been celebrated more had it not been for him being a weirdo) of the most decorated combat sports athlete in the company's history. Brilliant stuff from Oba, and Brock also did his best to make Oba look like a superstar."

However, this bout is ridicolous: started fine but cut short thanks to Brock lazyness. The result is right but for a Wrestlemania retirement match that's not enough."
[6.0] "Hoss fight, the problem is that it wasn't the war expecpteted. Femi kills Lesnar in the ''late'' stage of the match but the prodigigial flame wasn't passed when it was all gone. Just a match, again... eh."
"I don't think it's right to analyze this 4-minute-46-second match in terms of in-ring performance. The ending of the match was shocking. I think Lesnar being retired by a young star like Oba Femi is actually a passing of the torch. I don't think retiring at WrestleMania is a bad decision."
[5.0] "I think for Brock's last match, you could have at least made it go ten minutes. I also don't buy The Fall from Grace as a finisher that can put Brock Down, I think back to the 02 Hell in Cell where Lesnar kicked out of the Last Ride, and the Fall from Grace is just a sit-out version. I also wasn't a fan of Brock slipping out the ring, again, if it's his last match he should go all in and be the most destructive he's been since his return."
