[7.0] "This is not what I was expecting from these two. Both guys completed toned it down and grounded themselves for this one, focusing on their more technical sides with Price in particular focusing on limb work. This led to a really exciting last minute or two with the crowd biting hard on Price nearly getting the submission victory before the timer expired. Of course, neither of these guys are elite technical workers at this point in their careers but I thought this was very competent and their chemistry was on full display. A really pleasant surprise. ***3/4."

[4.0] "If the "these guys know each other so well, they're neck and neck here and keep reversing each other's submissions and getting rollup nearfalls! " shtick only lasted 5-7 minutes of the runtime I'd probably be fine with it, but they really just did that over and over for 20 minutes with no real progression whatsoever except for Oliver's pretty good grasping at the ropes in that final submission in the last minute. An extremely telegraphed time-limit draw that reminded me of the MJF vs Adam Cole time limit draw (which was even more boring than this, but mostly due to it being 10 minutes longer). Weakest match on the show. **1/4"

[8.0] "(Grade:B/**** 1/4) Bustah and The Brain put on a hell of a match! Glad AEW hoped on signing them cause this right here showcased they're able to work more of a "Television" style or better yet show their groundwork in terms of fundamentals & technical. Definitely couldn't decided who would could win as I lean towards Alec Price advancing yet seeing them fight in the ring you can tell they've trained together and know how one another ticks. The last minute of the match had the crowd and myself hook and would be win! not necessary bummed by the time-limit draw but it showed they'll willingly to not hold back against one another!"

[5.0] "[2.5*] This is a match that I RESPECT. I 100% respect the effort here. They could've easily just done a spotfest full of crazy shit, the crowd would've liked it way more. But they went out here and tried to do the good stuff, which I appreciate a lot. They tried a more methodical, slow-paced, emotionally charged storytelling match. In my opinion they weren't particularly great in their attempt because they're so used of doing the usual modern indy PWG style, it's kinda hard to transition like that. But that's surely a start. I'm pretty sure MJF got on their ears. They tried some limb-work and showed passion, which is super important. They didn't do a perfect job in not making the time limit draw feel less obvious tho, it was ridicularly clear since the first minute. However, the final minute was really good with the rope break stuff. I gotta say, I started this match with zero interest and now I'm looking forward to what they can do in the future."

[4.0] "Not particularly a match for me, but I appreciate the attempt to work a different match than what people were expecting, with a slower pace and a more personal story, it's just that pretty much nothing was really compelling to me here, I couldn't buy it. After the 15-minute mark it was pretty obvious that they would draw, and nothing in that ending stretch fooled me, not even the submission at the last minute, which was supposed to be a great near finish, but I wasn't involved with the match enough. Unfortunately to me this looked like a match between two kids trying to be storytellers, looked very corny, somewhat of a parody of great wrestling - {**}"

[8.0] "MOTN for me on a show with a lot of great matches. I was expecting to see a wild flippy spot fest match. What I got instead was a well structured and paced match between two rising stars. That final sequence once they both realized the time that was left in the match had me at the edge of my seat."
