[6.0] "A solid match between Kylie Rae and Wendy Choo that had some backstory to it. Kylie came up short after losing her focus allowing Wendy to pick up the win. 5.5-6"
[2.0] "It's bad in the ring, in the storyline setup, and in the story told. Not to mention Kylie's clear lack of emotional performance. You clearly don't believe her sadness. The ending is awful, like the rest of the match. I don't understand the goal of the story. Wendy Choo is still under contract with a terrible character and a really intriguing position on the card. I hope it's over and they stop booking them in Evolve. They are taking a spot that isn't theirs. Truly, I didn't like it; either I'm not the target audience, but if that's the case, no one is the target audience. I think it's the worst storyline of the year."
[7.0] "I understand criticism of the bear story line being stupid. That being said I think the story actually works for me. I thought it had good story telling and made Kylie come across as a sympathetic babyface and Wendy as a despicable heel. Overall I enjoyed the match"
[2.0] "This was very bad. The storyline with the teddy bear is stupid and doesn't add any emotion or sentiments, is just stupid. I mean, just the point that after 8 weeks Kylie notices is her sons bear doesn't make any sense. The acting when Wendy Choo ripped the bear's head was horrible, as well as Kylie's crying when she picked up the bear. All to be said, the camera shot of Wendy Choo appearing from behind was well done. The in-ring action was far from good, I think Kylie does always the same things and Choo doesn't make me interested."
[5.0] "The match was pretty average with Kylie Ray doing the heavy lifting. I like Wendy Choo and her character, but it is clear that she is not progressing as well as the other women in NXT. It feels like she was there for ages and now she's delegated to Evolve."
[7.0] "I went into this match with really low expectations but was pleasantly surprised. As daft as the teddy bear storyline was, it worked. It weaved a level of emotion into the match that kept me invested.... I actually felt sorry for Kylie Rae during the finish! I'd not been impressed by Kylie Rae up until now, I thought she was too green and lacked personality but this match showed a much better side of her. I think the jury is still out on the Wendy Choo sleepy girl gimmick- personally I like it but I fear it will not have enough longevity. All they being said, this was a great match."
"Decent match, Kylie showed some fire which was needed. I thought she'd get her first Evolve win here, but her losing focus and Wendy playing her mind games helps the story continue."
[8.0] "Oftentimes in wrestling in 2025, the reasons for feuds are very sparse, and the actions in the ring do not match the emotions that the characters should feel. I applaud Evolve for doing a story-driven match and to the wrestlers for making it work. I feel people might think that the teddy bear stuff is goofy, but we need a spectrum of emotions and story beats to make wrestling make sense and matches to feel different from one another. Also knowing how much Kylie doesn't like her promos or acting, and how vastly outside of her comfort zone this must've been, I think she did very well! And Wendy of course took a silly sleep gimmick and is taking it in interesting new directions."
