[3.0] "Absolutely boring - neither good or bad, but the ultimate sin of wrestling, bland beyond belief. All the qualifying matches are set up for an obvious winner which removes any sense of excitement. Obviously Josh Alexander, Cage and Reed were never going into that match. AEW have had these below-par shows right before a ppv a couple of times now which takes away a lot of my desire to see the main matches."

[6.0] "A decent episode with good wrestling, but the WrestleDream build still felt rushed and lacked real urgency. The Death Riders story around Moxley struggling after PAC's loss added some welcome emotional depth, while Copeland's promo was genuinely affecting and made his final stretch feel more important. The women six-person tag was probably the highlight, with Thekla, Mercedes Moné and and Divine Dominion bringing the strongest energy of the night. Solid overall, but not a particularly memorable go-home show."

[5.0] "To be honest, this was a boring episode of AEW Dynamite. Why I say this is because the matches were pretty easy to decipher who was going to win each match. The matches were decent, nothing spectacular, and I really felt like this was one of the more boring episodes of Dynamite, which is surprising because weekly there's always some great stuff, but for this episode it was very boring, and to note, it was a Dynamite and Collision 3-Hour Special. I just don't like when they do that; just keep it at 2 Hours or 2 and a Half Hours because, including Collision, it just makes it drag, but very excited for AEW WrestleDream this Saturday; it looks to be a very enjoyable event. Hopefully, next week, the Episode after AEW WrestleDream, we get back on track with good content."

[7.0] "I gave this episode a solid 7 because though it did feel like we, once again, rushed the builds into the upcoming PPV days before, but the action was good. I like the shift in the Death Riders and Moxley having emotional issues with the loss of PAC and how that is affecting their momentum. The Copelnad promo was a real bummer but not in a bad way - just sad. This makes me want to watch as many matches that Cope has left before he hangs up his boots. The real bange match in my opinion was the women's six man tag match. When you have the intensity of Thekla, the experience as Mone and the strength of Divine Dominion, this match really made the Sisters of Sin look great."

This whole episode felt like house keeping (for obvious and understandable reasons) with a string of perfectly acceptable tv matches. Not a lot really stands out apart from the FTR/ MCMG promo, Copeland's speech. Beyond that, this was a little tedious"

[4.0] "This was a tough one, because none of the matches were bad by any means. In fact, some of them were actually rather good. But the show itself felt like a slog due to its predictability. I know the idea was to qualify for Clockwork Carnage, but given the top stars faced folks that have never been in the World Title scene, it honestly would have been just fine to give the shots to those wrestlers. Or, if you're going to do the qualifying thing, have matchups between two wrestlers who could conceivably be in the match, Add to the fact that Allin's and Okada's titles were on the line further cemented that they weren't going to lose. WrestleDream should be good, but this didn't feel like a go-home as much as it felt like a contractual obligation."

[7.0] "A very wrestling centric go-home show for Wrestledream Saturday. Barely any segments, a lot of matches and in-ring storylines done. The Dynamite segment of this 3.5 hour broadcast was decent. The rapper segment was good, but since he wasn't destroyed by Brody King, this isn't getting an 8/10, because what's the point of bringing a celebrity to a wrestling show if he's not getting the shit beaten out of him in the end? Unwatchable. Can't complain about the matches otherwise."
KingOfTheLariat wrote on 16.10.2026:

[4.0] "Weakest Dynamite I've seen in a while to be honest. Kinda reminded me of the horrible 2023 era of AEW. Outside of the main event which was a pretty fun star-studded tag, every match was either straight up bad or super unremarkable. Especially disappointing were the Clockwork Carnage qualifiers. I'm sure the match itself at WrestleDream will be fun, but the winners were all so insanely obvious that getting through the actual match felt like a slog. We already pretty much knew the results before the bell even rang. I didn't really see the point of this show."

[5.0] "I didn't care for this episode. 3 hours, mostly of boring filler matches with obvious outcomes. AEW has this problem a lot. There is little room for surprise from this company. Almost every match was heatless or just about average. It's a shame because sometimes AEW puts on bangers."

Predictable that Takeshita would win, but Cage got in a ton of offense, and the match was fun. Okada advanced, which adds quality star power to the PPV. I thought the women's trio match was great, but why are these six fighting? I feel like all six are heels. I am absolutely loving the alliance between Andrade and Ospreay! The top two baby faces in the company united."

"This was a decent Dynamite. The Cope/Alexander and the Cage/Takeshita matches for me were the highlights. Both of these were solid bouts. Cage/Takeshita in particular there was a lot of strength demonstrated by both wrestlers. The women's trios match was also nice. The Copeland retirement portion was interesting"

[3.0] "Two interesting angles focusing on Edge and FTR/MCMG, but the rest is really lazy or boring, like this segment of the New Level. Matches without suspense and multi-player filler battles give the impression of watching a bad episode of Collision. Match quality: 2/6.5. Angles and non-match segments: 1.25/3.5. Bonus/penalties: none. Total: 3.25/10. Show watched on MyAEW."

[2.0] "This wrestledream build was one of the most boring and uninspired things I've seen this company for a while. Just complete filler stuff. And I thought All Out build was trash but somehow they one upped themselves. This episode was mostly these useless and predictable qualifiying matches and no suprise it turned out to be such a boring episode. Clusterfuck multimen title match is one of the laziest things this company has ever attempted to do and it shows. Main event was just okay but the rest of the show was mid to bad. Cope announces an upcoming retirement which I didn't care much for. Women's division is so astonishingly stale. Wrestledream card doesn't even look impressive on paper, usually aew ppvs at least look interesting despite their poor build. And why the hell is jericho and wayne third match of all things is getting a ppv spot when the lack of compelling match ups, rivarlies and storylines has been an ongoing issues for a while?"

The matches on the show were all really fine, but the main problem is that they were all really predictable, especially the Clockwork Carnage qualifying matches. I also kinda wish they had these matches last week or something so they could of built the match up a bit more"

"I might go back and rewatch but i just stopped watching during the Okada match. This was the first time I disliked a dynamite so much that I just decided to quit mid episode. The results were beyond obvious and the matches were pretty boring. The only thing that I liked up to that point was the Cope post match segment."

The one major segment came off as awkward. Not all bad, I mean the Death Riders tag, the Mercedes/Thekla tag, and especially Darby/Heichicero do help this. Definitely wasn't satisfied though."

[7.0] "For a go home episode of Dynamite ahead of WrestleDream it was actually solid with some solid matches and segments. Jake Doyle, Mark Davis & Wardlow vs Daniel Garcia, Gabe Kidd & Jon Moxley: Moxley and Davis had their preview moments ahead of their title match at WrestleDream and Davis got the pin on Moxley prior to their clash this weekend which was interesting to see, the match was solid for the opening match on the show [***3/4]. Adam Copeland vs Josh Alexander: Copeland winning was good to see, Alexander had a strategy of trying to take out the leg of Copeland which did work temporarily but Copeland got back into the match in what was a fairly fine match between these two [***1/2]. Konosuke Takeshita vs Brian Cage: Takeshita winning was good to see and these two did try and have a good match which was actually fairly okay, there were a few okay sequences and moments [***1/4]. Kazuchika Okada vs Myron Reed: Despite the obvious outcome of Okada winning but Reed did put in some decent enough offense but ultimately Okada would out wrestle Reed to get the win [**3/4]. Julia Hart, Skye Blue & Thekla vs Lena Kross, Megan Bayne & Mercedes Mone: Weakest match on this episode of Dynamite, Triangle Of Madness winning was not the way to go, Divine Dominion and Mone should have won but the match was borderline average [**1/4]. Samoa Joe & Tommaso Ciampa vs Andrade El Idolo & Will Ospreay: A preview of Joe and Ospreay before they compete in the Clockwork Carnage match at WrestleDream and served as kind of a preview for Idolo and Ciampa (a match that was announced after this tag team match), the ending did spoil things though, what should have been a great tag match given the names involved was still fairly decent but could have been delivered to a higher level [***1/2]"
