[9.0] "The matches for New Japan Cup matters more and for me all of them was worth watching especially ZSJ vs Oiwas which was the best match of the night. It was also very interesting like Okada vs Ospreay on 2019 if i can say this. The main event was also very interesting because of the civil war of Bullet Club with Finlay won a big battle. The tag matches i think was also good."
[5.0] "The undercard was pretty dull as always and it even seemed longer than usual. The first two of the singles matches trifecta were good but the main-event was a huge letdown all around. Overall an average NJC, luckly Uemura vs Hashi was good stuff. **1/2"
[6.0] "Daiki Nagai, Satoshi Kojima & Yuji Nagata vs Hirooki Goto, Hiroshi Tanahashi & Katsuya Murashima: A fine opening multi man match that got a bit of a preview for the upcoming Goto/Nagata match, Nagata getting the win did make sense submitting Murashima [**]. Callum Newman, Jeff Cobb & TJP vs Bad Luck Fale, Chase Owens & Drilla Moloney: A solid preview of Moloney/TJP, Cobb getting the win against Owens for his team was the right way to go, Fale still looks like he can only do limited moves [**1/4]. BUSHI, Shingo Takagi, Tetsuya Naito & Yota Tsuji: This was an okay match, Naito gaining some momentum heading into his second round NJC match was good to see and especially Naito getting the submission win, everyone else dd okay, did feel it was paced slower [**]. Gabe Kidd & SANADA vs Taichi & TAKA Michinoku: A short match that got nothing about it, we got a tiny preview of Taichi/Kidd [*1/4]. Shota Umino & Tomohiro Ishii vs Great O-Khan & Jakob Austin Young: An okay preview of GOK/Shota, Ishii and JAY were decent as well, okay action throughout [**1/2]. Yuya Uemura vs YOSHI-HASHI: Surprised that rising star Uemura defeated the veteran YH, the match was better than I expected, they had some brutal looking chops which made this an interesting watch [***1/2]. Zack Sabre Jr vs Ryohei Oiwa: A great technical and counter wrestling match between the "Teacher" ZSJ and the "Student" Oiwa, could have witnessed an upset there but ZSJ out wrestled Oiwa to get the win and advance, great match throughout and MOTN definitely [****1/4]. David Finlay vs EVIL: A underwhelming match mainly due to all the outside brawling to start and the outside interferences from Dick Togo and SANADA, the count out win for Finlay was the only good thing about this [*3/4]"
[6.0] "A very good night of the tournament and a solid second round. It was really enjoyable with a strong match recommendation. But SANADA, please, bro, put some effort into selling--at least make some facial expressions to show which side you're on at some point. He completely ruins the missed spot or the turn; we just don't know what's happening."
"I'd like to give a shout out to Drilla Moloney for his color commentary! Great balance between keeping in-character as War Dog while remaining respectful of the wrestlers from other factions and providing insightful comments. The explanation of the reasons behind chopping was fantastic. Also, props for leaving the commentary desk promptly to back up his dawgs in the main event instead of waiting until they're getting murdered like some other guest commentators do."
[7.0] "A solid show after a not-so-good Day 2. The preliminary tag matches were fine and I really enjoyed the three NJ Cup matches. Yuya Uemura vs YOSHI-HASHI was good and I loved the sign of respect between the two after the match. Yuya is a star and I'm really hoping NJPW goes all in on him. The guy is a perfect babyface and fits the role they wanted Shota Umino to have. Speaking of Umino, his return here was interesting. I figured he'd likely have the same ring gear since NJPW tends to do that before overhauling someone's character. The gear was awkward but the bald look surprisingly works for him and he wrestles with far more intensity and didn't play to the crowd (even ignoring them after the match). Really intrigued with where they go with this and I can see both Umino and Uemura potentially meeting in the finals. ZSJ vs Oiwa was very good and the two have great chemistry as both a tag team and as opponents. Won't be shocked if they run this back during the G1. The main event was fun and better than a lot of the typical HoT style matches. The War Dogs played the faces and the crowd loved seeing HoT get beat up. I really enjoyed the finish with Finlay picking up Dick Togo like a child, ramming him into EVIL, and making it back before the count of 20. SANADA's finally getting some much needed story development after his abysmal 2024, awkward addition into War Dogs, and off the main card of WK19. SANADA teaming with Ishimori regularly, making Chase Owens a War Dog, and the way he treated Finlay during this show leads me to believe he's forming a new heel faction with Ishimori, Robbie X, Chase Owens, and a returning Jake Lee. I won't even be shocked if Gedo turns on Finlay. I like SANADA and I know the injury rumors have been circulating and he seems more disinterested than usual but I can definitely see this being some big 4D chess move where they played into it and let SANADA work a softer style for a year to allow him more time to heal. Also, Drilla Moloney was very fun on commentary as the War Dogs typically are. A major step up from TJP's horrendous commentary the previous show."
[7.0] "Good show with solid preview matches and great cup matches. Also very happy that Goto, Tana, Nagata and Kojima kicked the show off, instead off taking the spots of the NJCup matches"
