[3.0] "Right before the main event they showed a hype video of every NGI before and it really drove home how dull and uninspired all the death match wrestling I had been watching for the past two hours had been. Tube spots with little to no thought put into them, a total lack of insane high spots, and wrestlers who felt like they could coast on the blood they had spilled in matches past. In previous years the NGI was a nice palette cleanser between the monotony of GCW's close to weekly slate of shows but this felt like more of the same from a company currently without any spark."
[7.0] "The event met the expectations of fans of the hardcore style, providing a series of intense and dramatic fights. Wreck's victory and his subsequent attack by Cogar ensure that this tournament will not only be remembered for the violence in the ring."
[7.0] "One of the best NGI's yet, although not quite sure why it was called that this year. First round matches were great, really liked the Japanese wrestlers and their match. The 3 way spot fest went well, breaking up the death matches. Ending of Kirk/Rina was awesome. I don't like Jimmy, if he got in shape and learned to sell he would be good - but, their match gave the crowd a piss break before the main. I'm not a massive fan of Sawyer, but she got to go out as the champion. I wish her well in her retirement. The chair spot they did would of been better if it hadn't of been done in the previous match and then no sold.it."
[8.0] "big fan of the tourney, the non tourney matches, the mance promo and Sawyers speech + the after match attack on Sawyer from Cogar. just everything about this worked for me as a deathmatch fan and GCW fan. favorites of the tourney are Brandon Kirk, Sawyer Wreck, Rina Yamashita and Drew Parker. everyone did good though and this has to be up there as one of my favorite NG invitationals. even with the Ultraviolet title vacated with Sawyer retiring they set up the match for it perfectly at Hammerstein. so excited for it and the build up as im so ready for a pissed off Brandon Kirk."
[7.0] "Extremely consistent tournament with no bad tourney matches. Loved the ending with Sawyer and Atticus. Kirk vs Atticus is already planted and Atticus picks up right where he left off in GCW being treated as a big deal."
[8.0] "A rather enjoyable tournament that was raised by it also doubling as Sawyer Wrecks retirement show closing the book on a 2 1/2 year run in GCW and about a 5 year career for Sawyer. The Orlando crowd showed up being into a lot of the action and talent (notably Sawyer Wreck, Rina Yamashita, and Dr. Redacted.) The opening round match between Rina and Ueki ended up my favorite individual match of the show but all the tournament matches were enjoyable. Both non-tournament matches were solid as was Mance Warners promo promoting his upcoming GCW title defense against Effy. Brandon Kirks post main event promo and Sawyer Wrecks after were both very nice although the latter was ultimately soiled by the surprise return of Atticus Cogar to GCW after more than 2 1/2 years away. I would say it may have been my favorite NGI since NGI2."
[8.0] "Every single tournament match was great. The storyline going into this was Sawyers retirement and I think it was done perfectly. Usually i have a issue with wrestlers going out on top but shes so young i think it was great to see for what is presumed her last time. Speaking about great performances Brandon Kirk played a great asshole all night, Drew Parker tore the house down aswell with some amazing wrestling, and the non tournament match between Miyu/Jimmy was so good. Only in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd see Miyu Inna fuckin deathmatch (I didn't see the triple threat due to my own internet issues but surely it was a good highflying typa match). Then to top off all this is the return of Atticus fucking Cogar. There's really not much to hate on this show unless you don't like deathmatches. Overall a stellar NGI"
