[10.0] "Arguable the greatest wrestling match of all time, and Swerve being crowned world champion. The fantastic ladder and opener kinda get forgotten amongst that brilliance, but this was a 2nd successive PPV that AEW absolutely knocked out of the park."
[6.0] "A two match card, but how great those two matches were. PAC/Okada and obviously Ospreay/Danielson were wonderful, but the rest of the card was either disappointing, ruined by shenanigans and interference, or the Jericho/Hook match which was about as bad as Danielson/Ospreay was good."
"This is maybe the best event in AEW history, the big matches felt big and every single wrestler was giving it all. Ospreay vs Danielson might be one of the best matches in modern wrestling and the ending of the PPV with Swerve winning the AEW title was really sweet and felt like a victory for all people watching."
[9.0] "Overall one of AEW's best shows ever. from start to finish every match besides Jericho vs Hook gave me a reason to watch the show. From Dream matches to Ladder matches to Title matches to History being made I can say without a doubt that this was one of my favorite shows Iv'e ever gotten to watch and I'm so glad I got to see it in person."
[10.0] "Julia Vs Willow was bad and Jericho Vs Hook was horrible, but both the trios match and Toni Vs Rosa are really good, both Strong Vs O'Reilly and Swerve Vs Joe are fantastic, both Pac Vs Okada and FTR Vs Bucks ladder match are incredible and Danielson Vs Ospreay is the best thing in all of professional wrestling. Overall AEW Dynasty (2024) is a really phenomenal show."
[9.0] "A really really solid PPV from AEW here. The only complaint I have is that the Willow vs Julia match got only 6 minutes, like they deserved a lot better than that. Other than that, the matches were really good, and I haven't even gotten to the fact that this PPV houses honestly one of the best matches I've ever watched in my life in Ospreay vs Danielson. Like that was amazing. Additionally, the great opener & ladder match, plus you have Swerve's crowning moment here, which leads to this being an amazing show. Okada/PAC - ****1/2, 6 man - ***1/2, Julia/Willow - **1/4, Roddy/KOR - ****, Hook/Jericho (didn't watch), Toni/Rosa - ***1/2, Ospreay/Danielson - *****, Bucks/FTR - ****1/2, Joe/Swerve - ****."
[6.0] "An overall solid PPV from AEW here that had some nice progress on it in the form of a number of results heading toward Double or Nothing. The opening match and Bryan/Ospreay were my two favorites of the night. The latter is getting a lot of hype right now but I felt I have seen both wrestlers have stronger matches this year than that one as well as better matches within AEW, similar to how I felt toward Ospreay/Bailey in TNA last year. It was still a very good match but I fail to see a lot of the MOTY hype people have toward it. Bucks/FTR was good even with the expected ending. Most on the show was solid even if some matches I expected more from while Jericho/Hook was a bit of a miss. A couple of AEWs recent PPVs have felt longer than they should and this was one of those toward the middle of the show to me but there was enough good to make this a solid watch overall.""
[9.0] "This was an awesome PPV, only just slightly beaten out by Revolution the previous month in terms of how much I enjoyed it; AEW having two PPV's this good in a row was great for them. This show had two subjective five star matches for me but my favourite match was still the dream match come to life in Will Ospreay vs Bryan Danielson. In an unsurprising turn of events my least favourite match of the show was the FTW title match. St. Louis was treated to a damn good show here."
[9.0] "overall an excellent show with one stand out. okada pac was an excellent opener but after that it was a struggle to get through a lot of the next 2 hours. the 6 man tag was good fun as well as the international title match however the tbs title match was a waste of time and you couldn't pay me to watch more jericho, the women's title match was decent but not worth revisiting. but then came what i think may be the greatest match of all time, so much aura from just a stare down, nearly to the level of mania 18. so many incredible counters with hard hitting fast paced wrestling as well as unbelievable technical mat work from danielson. the ladder match did its best to follow and was excellent with a jack perry return. the world title match wasn't anything incredible but was a great well deserved moment for swerve."
"attended this event in person, as my 4th ever wrestling event attended. was absolutely wowed from start to finish with multiple memorable matches (including of course Ospreay v Danielson) and the atmosphere at the arena was totally electric and contagious, resulting in it getting more and more hype throughout the night. absolutely recommend watching this event."
[9.0] "The second half of this show was really something special. Everything from Storm vs Rosa onwards was really great. Definitely a recommendation from me."
[10.0] "Ospreay-Bryan, Okada-Pac, Bucks-FTR, Roddy-Kyle, a return to form for Toni Storm and the catharsis of Swerve winning the title. What's left to say?"
[8.0] "I was not expecting this card to deliver nearly as much as it did. This was built and presented like a B-show, and it definitely had some stinkers on it, but I thought the last four matches were all tremendous including one of the best matches of all time. Very fun opener as well, harkening back to earlier times where AEW bouts had very fun openers."
Was soll man über Danielson-Ospreay sagen?
[6.0] "6 I wasn't looking forward to this show, which is half of the battle. You can have the greatest matches of all time on the card... It doesn't matter if what came before was the shits. None of these matches had a good build. The only match that had a build that was worthy of a ppv was Joe vs Swerve. But with Swerve trying to do the psycho thing while bleeding and basically saying "is that all you got" and than just getting beaten down again... he cooled down significantly as well. The first four matches were mediocre at best. Not because they were bad on a technical level but because of the lack of build and/or people to care about. PAC hasn't been consistently presented as anything so why is he having a 50/50 match for 20 minutes with Okada. Okada hasn't been presented well and doesn't look strong at all. Even less so now. I don't care about anyone in the six man tag, which is a pity because the House Of Black could be cool, Edge was once cool but already lost all his momentum, Mark Briscoe is a complete joke in AEW and Kingston is great on the mic and as a character but he's terrible in the ring. I do not care about Willow, nor Julia Hart and I care even less about whatever title they were fighting for. Hook's title doesn't matter either but at least Jericho and Hook created some interest. Yes Jericho has go away heat, but that's still better than no heat and no one else in the company has any heat. Jericho should be better at hiding his weaknesses (mainly his cardio) but other than that it was a good match imo that elevated Hook. Toni Storm is an over the top parody that I dislike an Thunder Rose is a good wrestler that I haven't seen in a while and had forgotten about. I don't remember why I should care. Despite that they had a good match. Danielson and Ospreay had a match of the year candidate... if only there was some type of build or reason for these two to fight beyond their supposed status as the best in the world. I've hated the Bucks for a while now for different reason. Mainly their lack of psychology, their lack of mic skills and charisma and their backstage politics. That being said, I enjoyed their match. Why? Well I don't like seeing these types of matches too often but I've only seen the Bucks twice this year (the other match being Revolution). Only seeing the bucks sporadically evidently helps. It also helped that I saw the travesty that was the 6-team ladder match at wrestlemania. It somewhat made me respect the bucks more. Despite what I think of them, their stuff looks good and seems as safe as these things can be. It's also 2 vs 2, which always makes more sense than having more bodies and more chaos out their. Despite not being the biggest fan of these matches anymore I must admit that The Bucks made it look better than anyone else in recent memory. The main event was good but too awkward at times with a couple of mistakes by Swerve. But it delivered adequately. To sum it all up. It's a good ppv with good matches... That didn't care about because of lack of build and people to care about. And it ran at least half an hour too long. 4 hours is too long for any event. Around 3h being the magic number and 3, 5h being the cut of point imo. Especially with it being all action. With WWE there are commercials to skip through (if you don't watch it live, which I never do because it would be in the middle of the night til early morning). AEW/Tony Khan needs to learn that having good matches and good ppv's isn't enough. Wrestling fans are wrestling fans because they want stories and characters to be invested in. If not, they'd watch mma or boxing instead. Every successful company ever succeeded because of the creative side of things. Signing big names and having great matches and nothing else has never worked and will never work."
[7.0] "Pretty alright show - the high rating is mostly because people loved Ospreay vs Danielson so much. And it was great! But I also remember when every AEW PPV felt monumentally important, even for pre-show and non-title matches. This, like Worlds End, had a lot of disappointing or unnecessary. High highs and low mids."
[9.0] "Beside the short Willow vs. Julia Hart and the Chris Jericho match a really great and fun show. Might already be in the Top Contender Spot for Show of the Year!"
[7.0] "A very fun show with great matches to look forward to. Crowd is very lively as usual. We also witnessed the match of the ages in the name of Ospreay vs Danielson. A well-rounded match that only 2 matches are bad. The presentation of every AEW PPV's are very good and despite the questionable booking they have nowadays, they can still put on a great show. What can you expect on the show that has Okada, Danielson, Ospreay, The Bucks, FTR, etc. TK already has a cheat code on making AEW awesome, all he needs to do is to put them in a fantasy matchup that us fans want. Here are my ratings for this show: Okada vs PAC, my review on the matchguide, (****1/4), House of Black vs Copeland/Kingston/Briscoe, my review on the matchguide, (***3/4), Nightingale vs Hart, a lowkey decent match just enough to showcase the ladies on a midcard title, (**3/4), Strong vs KOR, my review on the matchguide, (****), Jericho vs Hook, this match has NO RIGHT to be on the main show and it's downright terrible, only good part of it is when Jericho hit Hook with a baseball bat on the head, (**1/4), Storm vs Thunder Rosa, a mildly good women's match, (***1/2), The Bucks vs FTR, my review on the matchguide, (****1/2) and Joe vs Strickland, my review on the matchguide, (***3/4). But one match that truly stood out is the Ospreay vs Danielson match, possibly my Top 5 greatest wrestling matches in the 21st century. This is the third 5-star match that I've rated for the year and deservingly so. More review on the matchguide on why I gave this match a 5-star. Jack Perry surprisingly showed up disguised as a fan is pretty neat, can't wait to see this new version of him. The main event has somewhat drained out probably due to Ospreay vs Danielson and the Ladder match, but the celebratory win for Strickland is one of the AEW memories to cherish for many years. Overall, it's a great show but there are some matches that doesn't belong in the main card. Once again, AEW wins for providing a quality show to make your money's worth."
[10.0] "The wildest PPV I have watched from beggining to end. I thought I was gonne be tired by the end of it looking at the card but it kept me up all night and I was amazed one match after the next. Amazing wrestling, amazing crowd. This did not feel real"
[9.0] "When it comes to put a card together for a PPV and actually deliver, nobody is on AEW's level. This first ever Dynasty was a sensational show, only stained by the presence of Hook vs. Jericho which doesn't allow the PPV to reach the "10". Pac vs. Okada was the perfect opener for the show, great match with two awesome perfomers who had something to prove tonight and both knocked it out of the park. Cope, Briscoe and Eddie vs. HoB was a really good trios match. Perfect set-up for Copeland vs. Malakai. Julia vs. Willow wasn't very good. It was short and just comes off as flat. Good moment for Willow though. Roddy vs. O'Reilly looked like it came straight out a prime ROH/PWG show so it was great. These two really brought the fight to each other and delivered. Hook vs. Jericho was bad, I didn't like it at all. Just sloppy and boring all around. And Jericho going over was the icing on a cake of shit. Toni vs. Rosa was a really good match, easily Toni's best title defense. Surprisingly physical and intense. Ospreay vs. Danielson was the greatest match to ever take place on the American wrestling scene and one of the best matches of all time. I didn't think these two could overdeliver but, somehow, they did. FTR vs. Young Bucks had the difficult task of coming after Will and Bryan but there were able to put on a really fun ladder match. They worked their asses off and they made it work. Loved the ending with Jack Perry coming back, one of loudest pops of the night. Joe vs. Swerve was a good main event and Swerve getting his crowning moment was an absolutely amazing moment. Overall: outside of the (terrible) Jericho and Hook match, everything here was great. Swerve's crowning moment was hearfelt and Bryan and Will put on one of the greatest matches ever. Even Julia vs. Willow (the second worst match of the show) had the good moment of Willow winning the title. Both Swerve and Ospreay start the dynasties tonight as they are the men who are gonna lead AEW towards the future, really poetic."
[9.0] "An excellent overall PPV and one of AEW's better ones in a while. A lot of great professional wrestling on the night and some huge moments as well. Great stuff."
"[8.0] A beautiful event carried by a masterpiece but the other matches were great too. My only deceptions are the TBS Championship, the FTW match and AEW World Title Match, for the later the result is the better one and I am truly happy for Swerve, nontheless the match is forgetable. Bryan & Ospreay is truly one the best matches I have ever seen, but I can say that of any Ospreay match and I have the sensation that if there is a part II it will be better. This match deserve a trilogy !"
[7.0] "A solid show, but not worthy of social acclaim, and certainly far from perfect. A gem in the form of Bryan vs. Ospreay, though I don't favor considering this bout one of the best ever (for goodness sake). A good opener and main event, but in the middle...two flops: Nightingale vs Hart (the women's division in AEW is a constant low point of the show) and Jericho vs Hook - such a debacle does not befit such an established brand as Chris."
[9.0] "The Event was arguably a perfect show. The main event was a great moment for Swerve. The Will/Bryan match is likely the best match on North American soil. The Young Bucks/FTR match was enough and a great match in a already legendary rivalry. Toni/Rosa was eh. Fucking Jericho man smfh that match will prolly lead to Hook heading over to WWE which as a fan of both companies will be fun to see. Roddy vs Kyle was cool and a very nice match. I didn't care about the 6-Man tag match. And Okada had a great match with Pac. Overall a great show and I am super excited to see how Swerve and Will follow up their major wins."
[9.0] "Certainly lots to like here. The biggest takeaway, of course, is the Ospreay vs Danielson match. I do think there's been a lot of hyperbole in the hype it's received - I wouldn't rank it in the top of the list of best matches I've seen - but I also can't argue that it was undoubtedly an incredible match that stole the show. There was also a great opener from Okada and PAC, a very good Tag Title ladder match between the Bucks and FTR, a great moment in Swerve winning his first World Title in the main, and a very fun six-man between the House of Black and the Copeland/Kingston/Briscoe trio. Toni Storm turned in probably the best match yet in her Timeless run; in the past, while the character has been very fun, she hadn't quite hit the right combination of wrestling and schtick during the actual matches, but her defense against Rosa here hit much closer to the right balance and shows that Toni is likely at, or at least very close to, the point of putting it all together. Strong vs O'Reilly was solid; Willow vs Hart was fine especially considering Hart was working injured, and also had a nice moment for Willow winning, and I think that the discussion of Jericho vs Hook has also received a lot of hyperbole - while undoubtedly the weakest match on the show, I also didn't think it was *that* bad. Right now AEW could use any bit of positivity it can get, and hopefully two very strong PPVs in a row will help."
[8.0] "Match quality was quite good, my only complaint is that it felt a little long with so many matches over 15 mins. Seven matches feels about right, but it was worth it sitting all the way through this one. The Jericho match isn't as bad as people make it out to be."
[7.0] "A good PPV that I thought put a lot of work into the coming weeks rather than just focusing on the here and now. Sometimes AEW gets too busy trying to please the here and now so its refreshing and promising to see. Solid 7/10 show. Danielson v Ospreay stole the show. A positive nod to the womens world title match also, which I felt was the strongest Womens world title match since Jamie Hayters reign."
[9.0] "Amazing show from top to bottom including what will likely go down as the match of the year as well as a turning point for the company with the crowining of Swerve as champ"
[8.0] "Another successful PPV from AEW despite being a mixed bag in the build-up. Except for the hugely buzzed matchups (Ospreay/Bryan, Joe/Swerve & Bucks/FTR), other rivalries and the hype around them before the start was in the fence. However, the match quality is where AEW excelled in most matches, except for the TBS & FTW title showdowns. The latter was a mega-disaster not only because of the result but also because of the lackluster quality. The return of Jack Perry and the crownings of Willow and Swerve were greatly done, leaving an interesting path to embark on their way to the first Big 4 of this year."
[10.0] "This was a phenomenal pay-per-view. We opened with Kazuchika Okada defending his Continental Title against PAC in a fantastic match. this was followed by a very good Trios match between House of Black and Adam Copeland, Mark Briscoe, and Eddie Kingston. The TBS Title Match between Willow Nightingale and Julia Hart was underwhelming, but good enough given that Hart was hurt. Roderick Strong defended his International Title against Kyle O'Reilly in a fantastic match. Chris Jericho won the FTW Title off of Hook in a very disappointing match. Toni Storm defended her Woman's Title against Thunder Rosa in the best match either of them have had in months. We then got the easy match of the night, as Will Osprey took on Bryan Danielson in one of the best matches I have ever seen. The Young Buck defeated FTR in a phenomenal Ladder Match for the Tag Team Titles. Finally, Swerve Strickland defeated Samoa Joe in a very good match, that still fell flat following the previous two matches, for the World Heavyweight Title."
[6.0] "After an opener like Okada vs Pac, you can't help but feel a bit disappointed in the overall excitement levels of the card from then on, excluding Danielson vs Ospreay. Those two matches are certainly worth a watch, but I'm not sure there's anything else I'd recommend going out of your way for. Storm vs Rosa actually wasn't that bad and was one of the better performance from Rosa (maybe Storm, too) that we've seen in a while. The ladder match was your pretty standard unmemorable but not boring tag ladder match. Lower moments on the card were Hart vs Willow, which was already doomed by Julia's injury, Hook vs Jericho, and a main event which just didn't do a whole lot for me. On the plus side, this show didn't feel its length to me even if there are a few matches on here that I wouldn't have missed."
[8.0] "Two great matches in Danielson Vs. Ospreay and Storm Vs. Thunder Rosa, with Okada and Pac being good, too. But AEW is a bit overhyped by Meltzer, to be honest."
[10.0] "Hell of a show. Pac vs Okada was great and the first time I think we really saw Okada be Okada in AEW 4.75*. 6 man tag was fun and had some cool moments 4*. Willow vs Julia was too short to be anything special but a good moment for Willow 2.75*. Roddy vs Kyle was probably my personal 2nd favorite match of the night 4.5*. Jerico vs Hook was a fun hardcore match just shitty that Jerico won 3.5*. Storm vs Rosa was really good 3.75*. Danielson vs Ospreay does not need words 5+*. Bucks FTR Ladder match was great just struggled to follow 4.5*. And Swerve Joe was a good match better moment for Swerve winning 4.25*. Maybe not as good a show as Revolution but right up there"
[9.0] "This was actually the first time in a good while that I watched AEW's product, and I was quite pleased with what I saw. Danielson and Ospreay were undoubtedly the highlight of the night, one of the best matches in the history of the sport without any exaggeration. The kickoff between Okada and PAC also deserves all the praise; it was a solid demonstration of ring skill that perfectly set the tone for what was to come. Bucks and FTR, it's a classic that never gets old; this was one of the best matches between the two teams and I think it will be remembered for a long time in the fans' minds. These were the big points of the night. The only match I really couldn't get into was Julia Hart and Willow; I think it was a deserved title change for Willow, but it didn't have as much effort and could have been a better-worked match. Overall, an exceptional PPV that will definitely keep me more attentive to the company's future shows."
[7.0] "solid show Danielson vs osprey will probably get match of the years jericho needs to go. this is reason i didnt rate its higher i am happy for swerve. i hope he is given a proper push with the belt enjoyed the ladder match until jack perry appeared the toni storm gimmick makes me smile i am proud of her for reinventing herself"
[8.0] "Kazuchika Okada vs PAC: While it may not have not needed to go as long as it did, they matched each other in the ring, the opener being solid, the match was structured in a way that made it a compelling one where telling the story is concerned, at times it seemed like PAC was gonna win [****]. Adam Copeland, Eddie Kingston & Mark Briscoe vs Brody King, Buddy Matthews & Malakai Black: While it was a physical match, I dont think it was a ppv worthy match, i did enjoy it, but it should have been on Dynamite or Collision [***1/4]. Willow Nightingale vs Julia Hart: A short match mainly due to Hart having an injury, while the title change was not surprising it was good to see [*3/4]. Roderick Strong vs Kyle OReilly: A well executed match, physical as expected, both worked well and had great chemistry which made for an ideal PPV match [****]. Chris Jericho vs Hook: A fun match that did not need to go the time they did, could have had 5 minutes knocked off which would have made it more enjoyable, Jericho winning was surprising [***1/4]. Toni Storm vs Thunder Rosa: A match that was better than I expected it to be, Deonna Purrazzo coming out to help Rosa, should have been Rosa that was winner and winning the title but Storm winning was okay [***1/4]. Will Ospreay vs Bryan Danielson: Another barn burner from Ospreay in AEW, this time with Danielson, they tore the house down, Danielson getting hurt with the Tiger Driver 91 at the end was surprising to see, Ospreay getting the win was the right call [******1/2]. The Young Bucks vs FTR: Another great match featuring these two teams, this time in a ladder match, not as good as previous matches but still quite enjoyable [****]. Swerve Strickland vs Samoa Joe: While I did enjoy it more than I thought I would, it lacked some intensity that it could have done with, it could have had more time and it would have got there [****1/4]"
[8.0] "Definitely a very good PPV, but as usual there are always exaggerations here..the build of all the matches was terrible..maybe except Toni Storm vs Thunder Rosa even if the match was only ok. Okada vs Pac was a great match. The rest of the card up until Ospreay vs Bryan was very poor with a lot of head scratches.. Ospreay vs Bryan could have truly been a legendary match but instead it is yet another wasted opportunity. Ospreay winning on the first try against the greatest active wrestler is a very questionable choice. Not having a belt on the line for one of the biggest match up possible is a very questionable choice. The match was excellent as always with these two. We'll forget about it in a month...Maybe I'm just fussy, but I'm sure there were better set ups... AEW, for me, continues to be an "instant high/istant gratification" promotion..which is fine but I prefer something else...Willow's victory and especially Swerve's victory didnt even seemed that special when instead they should have been historical... [8/10 is a great ratings for this ppv]"
[8.0] "Just Continental? Anyhow, this is a dream match, I'm excited. The bit of mat grappling quickly gives way to high impact, with a Superplex after 4min, which is ridiculous. All the other moves now seem lesser for the rest of the match, even when they make everything look really good. The Pac counters are great moments and the crowd heat brings it up *** Very nice impact here! They make everything look great and brutal. The commentators are also really on here. And you get to see something never-done-before too! Love the pacing and structure here too, superfun, and the ending is the cherry on top ***3/4 Pretty much perfect with their spot on the card and the time given, tho cameraguys mess up the Best Friends hugspot. This was very nice **1/2 Well-built, great action with good progression, nothing wrong at all here. I mean any other night this would easily main event and everyone would leave happy, but this is Dynasty ***1/2 I'm very surprised they're doing hardcore-style here, but it is a nice diversion from all the Singles matches. Other than that, there's not much here. An actual bat shot to the head would kill, so that's a stupid throwaway too *1/2 Some great heat here, and the action is not bad, the side stuff also adding to the match imo, Mariah May is fine as hell **1/4 Crowd absolutely swallows whole every single thing they do, but I also love Ospreay and American Dragon so I'm with them! Rare to have this kind of heat nevertheless. The action is marvelous and they do some shit nobody else does. I also think the crowd reception was overhype considering this didn't feel like an all-time classic on par with legends. Not to say I was disappointed, but this was only a few steps above what they both usually bring to the ring. Still, any fan of wrestling should love this ****1/4 Starts awkward, continues as a slowburner first, then has some amazing spots to go over the edge. This felt pretty hit-or-miss, sometimes too smart for its own good, sometimes fresh and entertaining with the counters and subverting expectations, and the crowd is mostly confused on how to react, and as such you hear audible call-outs...This bombed a bit but not a bad match by any means *** I think these two match up well. They're both extremely safe, animated and impactful. This was a more than satisfying way to end a big event, the match is more than good enough and the moment is deserved! ***1/4 The low points didn't take away from this event IMO and this is an absolute gem for any indy fan, and more than worth the money casuals paid for it."
[8.0] "Bryan Danielson Vs Will Ospreay, that is the biggest takeaway from this show, it is perhaps the best professional wrestling match in North American soil. Not only that, Dynasty had one of the best endings in AEW history, it was a pivotal and significant moment for AEW's young history. The show is not without flaws but the important, money matches all delivered in some way. The biggest problem for AEW is that its PLE are great but the build up is lacking, most of the matches here had insignificant builds, other than the main event. Moving forward, hopefully, AEW learns how to build towards its PLE better and invest more in storytelling and building credibility for all their Championships. It was a very good show, the middle of the card dragged but the good ouweigh the bad, the opener was one of AEW's best openers, Bryan Vs Ospreay was an all time classic ( the best match outside Japan for me) and the ending is an all time unforgettable moment for AEW. 8/10"
[10.0] "I would honestly give this show 9 and a half stars but I can't on here ao I'm going the full Monty and giving it a 10. The only matches to me that weren't that good we're both women's matches but I still thought that they we're good. I definitely highly recommend it."
[8.0] "This show had its struggles on the undercard but they stuck the landing and that is the most important thing. If the company can keep up that same kind of big emotional story in its main events there's hope to turn this ship around."
[9.0] "An extraordinary pay-per-view from AEW with welcome title changes, such as the Tag Team, TBS and World Championships [not so much FTW]. In-ring action was consistently good to phenomenal, peaking with an all-timer in Danielson vs. Ospreay, but also an example made from the International Championship match. Some dips were the Nightingale/Hart match, and the Hook/Jericho brawl. The middle of the show dragged just a tad as a result, but didn't harm the final product too much. Jack Perry had a notable return that was executed really nicely. Swerve gains the AEW Title from Joe, realising his goal of becoming the first African-American world champion in All Elite Wrestling's history. A well-thought out show, one that exceeded expectations and mediocre builds. [9.0]"
[9.0] "AEW knows how to do PPV's that is not on doubt. Swerve v Joe, the ladder match, and Okada v Pac would be a match of the night in any other PPV. However, without a doubt, Bryan v Will was the match of the night, will be the match of the year, and will go down as one of the best ever. Now, nothing is perfect and it does not take a full on 10 for me. The Hook v Jericho was definitely a low for me and it made me believe that Hook is now done with AEW."
[8.0] "I liked this show a lot more than any other AEW PPV in the last year, but we're not exactly hitting the levels of what we had a couple of years ago when the company was at its peak. Ospreay v Danielson was a great match, but it wasn't the 'best match ever held on US soil', it's not even MOTY (Danielson v ZSJ from NJPW happened). It was great becasue of the crowd and the two getting to do their thing, but it didn't have a great deal of substance to it. I'd go ****1/4 on that one. The second best match was O'Reilly v Strong, ***3/4 really good hard hitting match. Toni Storm at least tried to have a good match with Rosa, it was her best since she started this bad gimmick. The other featured matches weren't particularly good aside from the main event. Jericho v hook was atrocious. Willow v Julia was a means to an end, Julia was hurt, I'll give em a pass for a bad match. that 6 man was lousy. Pac v Okada was only watchable because of Pac. Bucks v FTR reminded me of ECW, they just rolled out spot after spot with nothing in between.I didn't like that one at all. Swerve v Joe was a really good match, third best on the show. ***1/4."
[9.0] "This feel like a new start for the AEW. After the dramas and the criticism about the product in general, they needed Dynasty to be a sucess. It was more than a sucess ! Not even mentionned how stacked the card was while having so much people missing (Omega, Page, MJF, Cole, Moxley). The road to All In will be insane to watch, Double or Nothing will surely be one of the best ppv of the year too !"
[10.0] "This was a fantastic card of action, and a strong show of the year contender. I expected something great going in, but almost everything overdelivered in one way or another, and featured a super hot crowd. And obviously it featured one of the greatest matches ever. The Okada vs. PAC opener was excellent stuff, one of the best openers to a PPV you'll ever see: ****1/2. HoB vs. Copeland, Briscoe and Eddie was a great multi-man outing. If there's one gripe, it's that it was probably a little long, but on the whole I really enjoyed it: ****. The TBS Title Match was the weakest match on the card, mainly due to Hart being injured. Willow winning was good to see: **. Strong vs. O'Reilly was another excellent, hard-hitting wrestling match. This would have been better without the inexplicable stuff with Wardlow, which hurt it somewhat, but on the whole it was great: ****. The FTW Title Match was a decent brawl, but on the whole I can't say I'm remotely interested in this storyline/feud: ***. Toni vs. Rosa was much better than anticipated. I'm really not a fan of this Timeless Toni stuff, but it was kept to a minimum here and they worked this completely straight faced. I was hoping for a title change, but it wasn't to be. Very good stuff: ***1/2. Ospreay vs. Danielson was absolutely phenomenal. Two of the best to ever lace up boots had one of the best matches I've ever seen, and a pretty much flawless display of the craft. Outstanding, must-see stuff which is the best match of 2024 so far: *****+. The Tag Title Ladder Match had an impossible task in following the previous match, but after a ropey start they turned it up to 11 with some insane spots. As much as ladder matches are done to death nowadays, these guys pulled out the stops to have an excellent TLC match: ****1/2. And the Joe vs. Swerve main event was another really good match, but it was obvious the crowd (and I) were super tired by this point in the show. Swerve winning was 100% the right call, and as much as I love Joe, and am always happy to see him get a title run, realistically, I'd have had Swerve beat MJF last year, as he was a made guy after that Texas Death Match at Full Gear: ***3/4. All in all, a fantastic wrestling PPV and pretty much the show of the year so far."
[9.0] "I enjoyed much of this show. While it didn't have all the crazy high impact matches, the highs were some of the best in the company's history and perhaps peak professional wrestling. Ospreay vs. Danielson will go down as one of the absolute best matches of all time. It's not hyperbolic to say it stands right up there with any of the Omega vs. Okada matches. Ospreay has hit his apex in this match showing the best version of himself to date. This match alone carries much of the show rating. It was impossible to follow that match with the same level of anything, but they tried and had some great matches to follow. Okada vs. PAC also stands out as one of the best PPV openers in recent memory. Okada in AEW makes the promotion feel as though it truly is "where the best wrestle". The crowd throughout the show brought the event to another level with creative chants and heat for most everything on the show. Even Hook vs. Jericho was an interesting spectacle from the crowd's reaction."
[9.0] "This was an excellent show that would've been a 10 if not for that Jericho match which was awful to watch. Every other match hit and then some, especially Danielson v. Ospreay. And the matches after were able to still deliver, which is a hell of a feat. The crowd was hot for the whole show too, which just helped the overall experience of the show. IMO it was better than Revolution."
[9.0] "The only thing that prevented this show from being a 10/10 was that dogshit jericho/hook match that was thrown together in a week literal last minute, should have beem on the 0 hour, aside from that this show has earned its place in the top strata of AEW PPVs"
"Just now getting really into AEW (well, the PPVs mostly) and I honestly liked this more than Revolution (the card was more interesting going into it). Danielson/Ospreay doesn't need my praise but holy shit. Swerve winning the title was a moment for the ages and I hope his reign is great. Can't put it into words how awful the FTW match and result felt though. Good show overall."
[9.0] "Doesn't matter what is your favorite company, nobody does PPV's better than All Elite Wrestling, this was another spectacular event, wow! Would probably be a 10.0 if I considered Ospreay vs Danielson as good as most people are, but even with this underrating of mine, the show was fantastic, four really good matches, and some remarkable moments too, like Swerve becoming a champion. AEW has many flaws, but PPV's aren't one of them, this is their specialty."
"Incredible show back to front. Starts strong and maintains throughout the entire show. Okada vs PAC was amazing and a great first PPV for Okada and return for PAC. House of Black v the boys was also lots of fun with great spots. The dark horse match of the night was strong v O'reilly for me. I didnt expect it to be so amazing. hart v willow was aight and Jericho v HOOK was unnecessary although it had some decent spots. Storm v Rosa was really good as well. Danielson v Ospreay was a masterpiece as everyone knows. The ladder match was insanity. Joe v swerve had a quick start which was necessary in since it was following two great matches. A beautiful ending to it as well."
[9.0] "A really great show. Loads of excellent matches, high level wrestling, strong storylines on just about every match. The only change I would make would be to put the acclaimed vs BCG on to the main card and put Jericho vs HOOK onto the zero hour. Or nowhere. Also Julia vs Willow could've been better, but was still a solid showing considering Julia was fighting through an injury. PPV of the year so far for me, and there's a lot of competition out there right now. 10/10 without Jericho, he's really that bad. What a show, definitely one that'll be worth watching in the future."
[9.0] "amazing show! AEW always nails it on PPVS and I cannot wait for their next one. almost all matches were pretty cool and they were very well produced! for me, All Out 2023 is still on top of the mountain, and Dynasty, was really close to it! last 3 matches, were the best part of the show and it was Pro Wrestling at its peak. really amazing! we're living in a very great moment of Pro Wrestling and I hope people stop that stupid tribalism, and don't take these gifts for granted."
[9.0] "Amazing, amazing show. Almost considered giving a 10 rating, but it wasn't perfect. The Jericho match and him winning was especially bad, and Willow vs Julia was super underwhelming. But for positives, of course Swerve's crowning moment is big one. The Danielson-Ospreay dream match being possibly the best match to occur on U.S. is of course the best thing match wise (argubaly as a whole, better than Swerve's win? ). The ladder match was chaotic fun, PAC-Okada was awesome, and Strong-OReilly was great. These shows is what AEW does best and are now on a hot streak of pay-per-views after Revolution. This was the show AEW needed to rid of any thought of the stupid Punk footage and all the negativity around it. But of course, it'll always linger. Also, the women's title match was really solid as well. Great wrestling and great matches all around, (for the most part) and honestly one of AEW's best pay-per-views ever. Definetly top ten. Dynasty was awesome."
"starker PPV.
[8.0] "Really good event: Okada got his first PPV match, Will Ospreay wrestled what 'll be the MOTY for a lot of people (despite it will be "only" in the top 10 for probably) and Swerve has been crowned as the new face of the company in the main-event. Unfortunetely there some bad matches there and there. ****1/4"
[6.0] "Two pretty good matches. An absolute failure with Jericho. Bucks/FTR was mid and a few other struggles on the card. With the preshow it's 6 hours of wrestling and a few matches here went too long. Would be nice to see them make them more compact and not have every match try and do everything. Less is more sometimes."
[10.0] "If the trios match was held instead of Chris Jericho and Hook, and if the TBS title match was booked a little better, the PPV would have gotten a much higher score, but overall it was good and the atmosphere of the stadium was extremely great"
[8.0] "This was another really good PPV from AEW. Ospreay and Danielson's match was the obvious highlight and nothing else on the card could hope to reach that level, but it was still mostly solid throughout and Swerve's crowning as AEW champion was really cool to see. Only two matches really fell below average for me and I wish they'd been saved for TV instead. [MOTN: Bryan Danielson vs. Will Ospreay]"
[9.0] "In ring work overall was very good through out the show, AEW always delivers with their matches where you like it or not they offer something for all fans, there TBS title and Jericho/hook match were the lows for me. A very good night and, it cant not be stated how great of a pro is that Roderick Strong, can always count on that Man to deliver"
[10.0] "If you watch pro wrestling this is a top tier PPV. Danielson v Ospreay is MOTY and added to the "ever" list of matches on this card took it to next level viewing. Every match on here was PPV level (aside from Jericho/Hook) & per usual the company gives you every pennies worth."
[8.0] "Danielson/Ospreay albeit I dont think its the greatest wrestling match ever, it was pretty damn amazing. The other great stuff was Okada/Pac, ORiley/Strong and Swerve vs Joe. I thought Swerve/Joe was a really strong world title match for Swerves coronation. The other stuff ranges from being good to forgettable, outside of Jericho/Hook that was a really unfortunate match result aside. Overall a really good show overall although this shows quality in matches can be inconsistent."
[7.0] "[3.50/5.00]: From the electrifying opening bell of Okada vs. Pac to the climactic main event, this event had a diverse range of styles, ensuring each match felt distinct. Danielson and Ospreay delivered a standout performance, the chaotic ladder match added excitement, and the emotion-packed main event met lofty expectations. While it may not have surpassed Revolution, it remained a highly entertaining four-hour spectacle. With most matches exceeding 15 minutes, each bout was given ample time to unfold, though some may have felt overly prolonged. While there were highlights, Jericho's antics left something to be desired, and those 17 minutes could have been better spent. At this point I don't think Tony understands how to make it a tighter PPV, I'll much rather have a show where four out of the six matches are great rather than a four out of nine, and that's the department AEW struggles a lot for me."
[7.0] "Would be alot higher if this was tighter ppv, instantly I'd take out the six man tag match here, while decent it was completely unnecessary and the type stuff we see on Dynamite. Hook vs Jericho was already a match I didn't need to see again never mind a 16 minute version so that added again to a bloated ppv. I Was underwhelmed by both womens matches and really Willow might as well have just won in a squash match if it's only getting 6 minutes. Now to the positives: Okada vs Pac was pretty good I just wish it was slightly faster paced but overall very solid. The final 3 matches were all pretty good with Ospreay vs Danielson being the highlight. I think ill enjoy some of these matches more on a rewatch away from the ppv as is usually the case with most aew ppvs."
[8.0] "In my opinion, this PPV went better than I expected. I think Danielson v Ospreay was one of the best wrestling matches that AEW has ever had, and match-wise one of the best matches I've seen in a LONG time. It was one of those matches you will remember for a long time. Swerve winning the World Championship was a great moment, but the match was slightly lackluster, even though I wasn't expecting much. Still a great ending to the show. Most other matches were around what I expected. Solid PPV minus Jericho v HOOK, which I believe was exactly the opposite of what AEW needs right now. Putting over, and therefore reigning Jericho as FTW champion is extremely backwards booking when you see that the vast majority of fans are against Jericho right now. Hopefully they figure this out but I am also not sure it is the best idea for the FTW championship to be in his hands. I also worry for the future of HOOK. Jericho v Hook was a massive letdown, but Swerve winning the championship, and Ospreay v Danielson being the classic that it was really kept it alive for me."
[7.0] "The console warring on this website is killing me. How can this PPV be rated 9.18 when it only contained three and a half good matches? Sure, Danielson vs Ospreay is an instant classic, but does its greatness diminish the snoozefest that followed Pac vs Okada? Literally, you could put these five matches on a random Rampage or Collision episode and no one would bat an eye."
[10.0] "Absolutely sensational PPV. Last 3 matches plus the opener were out of this world good. Danelson v Ospreay had a lot of expectation going in and blew it out of the park."
[7.0] "Some solid matches mixed with some bad matches. The positives obviously being Pac vs Okada, Danielson vs Ospreay, and Young Bucks vs FTR, though Jack Perry ending was pretty lukewarm. The negative: Jericho vs Hook, Willow vs Julia, and not bad just underwhelming giving the talent Toni vs Thunder Rosa. The rest of the card was good though: Swerve winning the talent after he should have last PPV, Strong Vs O'Reilly. House of Black vs team Cope was pretty underwhelming, but was fine for what it was Hopefully now with Julia/Willow storyline over Monee can final start to shine, because she hasn't had much to do since her debut."
"First half of the show had some matches that may have been a better fit on dynamite. The 6 man, and TBS championship specifically, last 3 matches make this show a classic. Danielson and Ospreay may go down as my favourite match of all time"
[9.0] "Another great AEW event that continues to not disappoint on PPVs in 2024, Revolution was better, but Dynasty comes very close, 3 great matches on the card including a match of the year contender, a very interesting return and Swerve wins the gold. Okada vs. Pac: second best match on the card and a wonderful opener to raise the crowd for what was yet to come, I'm really enjoying this new Rainmaker heel (****1/4), Copeland/Kingston/Briscoe vs. HoB: teaser for Copeland vs. Black no DoN (**3/4), Julia vs. Willow: worst match of the night, but it wasn't bad, there just wasn't enough time (**), Strong vs. O'Reilly (***1/4), Hook vs. Jericho: fun match, very unfair by the way, even though I didn't like the result (***), Toni vs. Thunder: finally a good PPV match to solidify Toni's reign, which was very weak in the ring until recently (***1/2), Ospreay vs. Danielson: I believe there was a general consensus that this would be the best match of the night and MOTYC, but calmly it's not the best match in history, but it's an instant classic without a shadow of a doubt (*****), FTR vs. Bucks: the crowd started this match dead thanks to the delirium that was the previous match, a good match, but I think it's the weakest among the 4 that these teams played, detail that the best thing was Perry's return (****1/4), Joe vs. Swerve: it wasn't the best match in the world, but it did its job well, the storyline of Swerve moving up the card in search of the world title was wonderful and Joe had a great reign during that period (***1/2). Final grade: (8.5/10)"
"It was a terrific show from top to bottom. Danielson/Ospreay was one of the best matches I've ever seen, PAC/Okada was terrific, Rosa/Toni was a strong women's match, KOR/Strong had a great match, and FTR/Bucks was a lot of fun. Loved that Cole can walk again and it was great to see Jack Perry back in AEW. The moment of the night was Swerve winning the world title. Well deserved! Whose house?"
[2.0] "The ultimate indie wet dream. There are two good matches on this show and still they're not the most exciting things you'll see. The opener is meh with none of the guys selling effects of anything, 6-Man Tag was one of the worst things on the show with Kingston outdoing himself when it comes to making people ashamed of watching wrestling and Willow vs Julia had Hart dominate a woman twice her size. Strong vs O'Reilly was one of the better things on this PPV, Jericho vs Hook was a comical disaster and Storm vs Rosa positively surprised with the contender especially impressing. Ospreay vs Danielson will be the talk of the year for every mark who doesn't care about psychology and making things special because movesets are more important to them, Bucks vs FTR was a horrible spotfest with Bald and Glock losing the remains of respect I had for them and the main event was underwhelming, although still it was nice to see Swerve finally get the big one. Another awfully booked, badly structured card with random, cold matches and I can't say I was expecting something else."
[9.0] "I disagree with some who would cut the fluff matches on this card (excluding Zero Hour) because I think they can serve a purpose of giving the audience a chance to breath. I wouldve shuffled the card around a bit, maybe put the trios match on before the main event so Joe/Swerve dont have to follow Ospreay/Danielson immediately. I think there wasnt a bad match on the card; sure Jericho/Hook wasnt great and Willow/Hart went short (maybe because of a previous injury) but it didnt kill the momentum of the other matches. The crowd was awesome too. Too pops for people standing; when Adam stood from his wheelchair and when Taz stood at the end of the Hook match, its a testament to the responsiveness of the crowd. They helped make the night special."
[10.0] "Very good show. There were a few minor nitpicks here and there but overall this is probably in the top 5 of AEW's best shows ever, which is crazy that I've said that about both PPV's they've had so far this year. This show had one of the best wrestling matches I've ever seen (Ospreay/Danielson), along with several other good-very good matches that would've stood out as match of the night on any other card (PAC/Okada, KOR/Roddy, Bucks/FTR 4, Toni/Rosa). Not to mention the crowd, who were super hot from start to finish, and never seemed burnt out once throughout the entire card. In terms of sheer match and roster quality, AEW is on the run of a lifetime right now."
[10.0] "This was Perfect, from Start to Finish... i repeat.. this was Perfection from AEW, The PPV Card himself was like Heaven, sometimes its an Overkill but this was overall the Best Fn PPV.... I Was like Standing in my Home and could not believe my Eyes... The Crowed was Awesome... Such a Perfect Location .. Ospreay vs Danielson the best Match ive ever Witness.... there is no Word for this Match Unbelievable..."
[9.0] "Overall an amazing PPV. This would be an easy 10 if LionHook didnt have that match. Oh boy was that a painful one. Hook losing to jericho was such a short sighted decision that does nothing but keep Hook in the vortex. However, there is easily 5 matches on this card that were worth the price of admission. A great PPV that was so close to being perfect."
[9.0] "Tremendous show. The only sore spot was Hook/Jericho and that had more to do with fatigue with Jericho rather than the match itself, and even then the crowd made up for it with their antics. PAC/Okada perfect opener, fantastic ladder match in a tough spot, Swerve finally getting his moment, and what quite possibly might be one of the best matches Ive ever seen in Danielson/Ospreay. You know its a good show when you cant get to sleep afterwards and are planning out when to watch some of the matches again the next day."
[8.0] "I definetly believe people are gonna focus hard on the good stuff on this show, which to be fair, there was plenty of it. A strong opener between Pac & Okada, because of course it was and the 6 man was also very fun, although, there were obvious moments where Adam and Malakai don't touch, and I'm not saying obvious in the case of "good story telling, " I'm saying obvious in the sense that Adam could've gone and attacked Malakai and didn't. I did really love the finish though. Then, as if anyone would be surprised, Tony S T I L L doesn't know how to book the women's divsion, as Willow and Julia wrestled for less than 10 minutes, making Willow's big win feel a little underwhelming. The Continental title match, while not for everyone, was one that I absolutely loved. The chemistry between Strong and O'Reilly is evident, and they just kicked the crap out of each other. I also wasn't expecting a Strong retention here, which, with the match quality, and Adam Cole's return, made the title and Strong's reign feel more important instantly. Then came the low point of the night. Hook vs Jericho. I thought it was a great match, make Hook look strong in retention, have Jericho leave for a while. Not what happened. Jericho won. He's really starting to get the type of heat of "GO AWAY" rather than actual good heat. Also, can Jericho ever just lose the last match of the fued? ! Thankfully, the final 4 matches saved the show from being a forgettable one. Toni vs Thunder was stellar, and reminded us of just how valuable Thunder Rosa is. Toni was great in the match as well, but Thunder was sorely missed, and it's fantastic to see her back in a big match like this. Do I need to tell that Bryan Danielson vs Will Ospreay is one of the best matches I've ever seen? Cause it was. The finish was interesting, and I think their's a good chance we see this match down the road again. The Tag Team Title ladder match was also great, but probably won't be remembered as well as the other Bucks vs FTR matches for 3 reasons. What happened in the main event, Ospreay vs Danielson, and of course, Jack Perry returning to AEW. The main event World Title match was good, not spectacular, but I'd still say worth a watch, and Tony can do at least 1 thing right; he knows when pull the trigger on someone and give them the big win. He did it with Jamie, and he did it here with Swerve. Well deserved. All and all, despite the first 5 matches being a mixed bag, the final 4 matches made up for it in spades. Hell of a show, but not quite on the level of Revolution earlier this year."
[9.0] "Both AEW PPVs in 2024 have over-delivered with Revolution and now Dynasty providing the types of matches and moments that are rare in pro wrestling these days. Even though this card is a little top-heavy in terms of in-ring excellence, the top three matches (Okada/PAC, Bucks/FTR, Ospreay/Danielson) are all about as good as it gets. Ospreay/Danielson is absolutely a must-see match for any fan, and the type of match that will likely be the Match of the Year for 2024. Even the mid-tier matches on this card (HoB vs Cope/Kingston/Briscoe, Swerve vs Joe, Toni Storm vs Thunder Rosa, KOR vs Strong) are well-executed, enjoyable matches. The Jack Perry appearance and Swerve's coronation also served as cool moments. My only knock on the show is that it still feels like there's still not enough variance in match duration on these cards. Not every match needs 15+ minutes, and it'd be nice if the overall run-time could trend closer to 3.5 hours (as opposed to 4). I think this would help in-arena audiences as well as at-home audiences stay fully invested in each outcome/match for the full event."
[7.0] "I'll start with the obvious of Ospreay/Danielson and Swerve beating Joe being awesome matches/moments on this card. PAC/Okada and the 6-man tag were also very solid, but I cannot overlook a lot of the negatives not only on this card alone but in the build leading up to the show. Willow/Julia was marred by injury but was to be expected if you were in-the-know, and Jericho is painfully washed up with nothing HOOK could do about it. Roddy/O'Reilly and Storm/Rosa were fine matches but both had a feeling of ending a bit abruptly. Bucks/FTR was a great match with one of the most mind-numbing builds in company history and a disappointing finish to "capitalize" on it. I have not personally liked Tony Khan's leadership and creative directions recently, and feel there has been a fair amount of negative momentum for their weekly shows that in a lot of ways is self-inflicted, but as per usual with AEW the highs are still very high and for the most part the PPVs at worst will still be okay."
[9.0] "Really good show with good matches, despite the poor build for a majority of these matches. I see this PPV as sort of a starting of a new era of AEW led by Ospreary, Swerve, Okada, and I pray Jay White."
[10.0] "It started out with an amazing match between Okada and PAC. Just a classic that left me asking, how can anyone follow that? And then they did! Of course Ospreay v Danielson was the best match of the night, but just about everyone over-delivered on my expectations. Even the weakest on paper, KOR v Roddy, would have stood out on a lesser PPV. Even the pacing was fantastic. I was completely spent after the Ospreay v Danielson match, and a little checked out at the start of the ladder match. But it kept building and ended strong to lead into the main event."
[10.0] "It's hard to say where I rank this event among the top 5 best AEW PPVs all-time. Subjectively, it was one of my favorite events based on the storylines, matches, and outcomes. Objectively, it was top-to-bottom possibly the most high-quality event AEW has ever produced. And the event marked some significant milestones for the company (Jack Perry's return since CM Punk was fired, Swerve becoming AEW's first African American world champion). All Out 2021 has often been considered to hold the top spot as best AEW PPV. I believe in a lot of ways that event has been held to such a high degree not specifically for its match quality, or the surprise debuts, but the milestones the company hit with that event. For starters, it was probably AEW's first event that delivered a card that from beginning to end featured bonafide stars in the business. It was also a huge milestone for the wrestling industry as a whole due to CM Punk's return to action. And lastly, the debuts of Bryan Danielson & Adam Cole signified continued growth and prosperity for the company in a period that even pre-dated Cody's departure. But was Dynasty better? After everything the company has been through since 2021 (or put themselves through, depending on your perspective), they were able to create a new PPV show that featured a *better* card, delivered (at least subjectively IMO) a *better* experience, and seemingly marked even more growth and upward mobility for the company (Perry's return and Swerve's win). Kind of feels like AEW has moved onto their Dynasty era."
[10.0] "All timer PPV for All Elite, once again. Even the Jericho match was actually alright and the crowd made it funny with the "go home Jericho" or "please retire". I like the fact Jericho won because the whole show was so good that you had to put some funny hate on it, and it's just the FTW title so who really cares in the end. The other weak point was also a good match in the TBS championship, I think Julia Hart is not at 100% so they kept it simple but effective, nice clean win for Willow Nightingale! The rest of the show did exactly what it needed to do. Okada vs PAC is a great opener, both guys have a chemistry, Okada did a perfect job at turning the audience against him with that Rainmaker pose tease into the flip off, and then doing basic heel work, which makes the point of the after match successful with PAC disappointed by his loss but the crowd chanting for him, showing the respect! Then the trio match was very fun and well paced, everyone shined except maybe Buddy Matthews who was a little laid back, but the main goal of this match was to hype Malakai Black vs Adam Copeland, it delivered. Then we got to see REAL GRAPS with that Roddy Strong vs KOR! Damn that's some excellence ROH shit, a pure joy to watch this, and Adam Cole getting out of the wheelchair after this, with the mean eyes to Wardlow and all... Really good stuff! The women's championship delivered too, I guess Toni Storm listened to some fan complaining that her new "timeless" character kinda ruins the in ring aspect. She did a great match against AZM in Collision last week, and now a very good match with Thunder Rosa, this is the Toni Storm that I want to see! Will Ospreay vs Bryan Danielson : MAGIC, it's the word that I can only think of. It's not even the craziest match, most violent or most athletic that I saw from these 2 GOATs. It's just magic, great great sequences, hot crowd from even before the bell rang, astonishing counters. The spot that got carved in my mind was the Os'cutter countered by a running knee mid air, picture perfect! It ended with Danielson selling the tiger driver 91 to death so Ospreay can retire the move and I think it's a great idea. Maybe one of the best match I ever saw. 5 stars + without any hesitation. It's almost impossible to follow this masterpiece but Young Bucks vs FTR did it! Good thing it was a ladder match because the crazy spots and bumps is the reason the crowd got back on track, even chanting "please be careful" LOL. That was indeed very impressive to watch and Jack Perry is back with a great reaction, love to see it! Then the main event closed the show on a high note and feel good vibes with that Swerve Strickland victory. It was a very good main event, Joe was a good champion but they needed this title change. Can't wait to see the next Dynamite!"
[9.0] "My two negative points about the show: the TBS Championship match (Julia was hurt, so I'll excuse this one, specially because Willow is champion now), and the FTW Championship match (no excuses here, this shouldn't exist at all). The positives: everything else! Okada vs PAC delivered maybe the best opener in an AEW PPV ever, The 6-Man Tag was fun, Strong vs KOR was a technical delight, Rosa vs Storm was the best defense in her title reign, Ospreay vs Danielson was a 5-Star classic, Bucks vs FTR was a underrated violent match, and the main event crowned one of the most deserving guys on the history of the company. A Top 5 AEW PPV so far."
[10.0] "Arguably AEW's greatest PPV ever. An all-timer classic match, a strong main event with a rising star getting his first title win, quality matches throughout the undercard, and a hot crowd is hard to top. Willow/Julia Hart wasn't much of a match but it was short at least while Jericho/Hook didn't do much for me. Those are the only flaws on what was otherwise a phenomenal show."
[10.0] "This won't be an original take but even with that plodding turd of a Jericho match, this show is worth a 10. KOR/Roddy, Storm/Rosa, Swerve/Joe, and the ladder match were all fantastic. And then you have Ospreay/Danielson which felt generational. Exceptional."
[8.0] "Time flew by while watching. Very good matches with one MOTY contender in Danielson vs Ospreay. Julia vs Willow was a little clunky but Willow won which is all that matters."
"One of the best ppvs in recent history. Even the less "spectacular" matches hold up well. Matches that would be the best of most shows are going to be obviously overshadowed by the high notes of this night."
[10.0] "Really awesome show, when a shitty Jericho match can't derail it, you know everything else was special. Okada vs PAC + Ospreay vs Danielson are the highlights, but damn near every match on this show delivered. And ending with the huge feel good moment of Swerve winning the belt was damn perfect!"
[8.0] "I have gone back and forth. First, I think this is the best PPV that AEW has put on in some time. Kudos to them. However, some unnecessary bad things cloud this score. Hook v Jericho was the worst match of the night. Please have Jericho go away for a while. Leave our television screens. Dont be a manager. Dont be a commentator. Leave. Also, Jericho has 50, 000 nicknames. None of them cool. As for the matches themselves, many of them were good-great with Ospreay/Bryan being fantastic as was PAC/Okada. Unfortunately, I think what couldve pushed my score higher was the build/storyline drama. A great card is a great card. But proper storyline builds/proper drama add to the rabid mess of a fan base. Im looking for the next MJF v Punk or Page v Omega and we havent gotten it yet. TK has the players, his storytelling and booking need to match his talented roster."
[10.0] "Best AEW PPV to date. So many great and fun matches on one card. This ppv solidified to everyone watching All Elite Wrestling is the home of PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING"
[7.0] "The first half was pretty painful but the three last matches carried, still i expected a bit more of such a stacked card, but i guess it works to please some people, jericho was awful tho, one of the worst decisions i have seen them do ever, but whatever"
[10.0] "This is one of the best PPV's I have ever seen. From the start of the first match (Okada Vs PAC), This PPV was hitting every stride perfectly. Okada Vs PAC was amazing, a match of the year contender if it wasn't for two matches that came later in the night. Willow got the win in a fairly good match if you remember that Julia was injured so this was going to be short. Roddy Vs KoR was a great match and I cannot wait to see that feud continue. Even Jericho Vs Hook was okay. Not great or good but at least Hook and Taz were entertaining. Toni Storm is finally back to being the Toni of old, with this being her best match by MILES in the Timeless gimmick and this is Thunder Rosa's best match since the Britt Baker Steel Cage match. But the last three matches were what everyone was here for. Starting off with Will Ospreay Vs Bryan Danielson- This is one of, if not THE greatest Professional Wrestling match I have ever seen. The in ring psychology, the technical portions, the CROWD (Which was AMAZING all night long. Never were they tired). Everything about this match was perfect and it will never be forgotten. The Young Bucks and FTR had to follow, but them being two of the greatest tag teams of all time, they kept the tiring crowd extremely invested and had what I thought was their best match out of their 4 matches together, but the big talking point was the return of Jack Perry back to AEW. he got an insane reaction when it was revealed and the whole return was done perfectly. I cannot wait to see where they go from here. The main event was exactly what it needed to be- Swerve's Coronation. This match was good but only good compared to the other two matches which had happened before. This match got you invested in Swerve and the crowd had already been behind him the whole night. It was his time and they pulled the trigger perfectly. 10/10 show."
[9.0] "Near perfection. Would probably be a 10 if not for Jericho being the absolute worst. Okada vs PAC was an awesome opener and its good to know that Okada has adapted to the American television style really well. House of Black vs Adam, Eddie and Mark was fun, but I wouldve preferred a singles match between Malakai and Cope. Julia Hart and Willow Nightingale went very short but was the right result. Strong vs OReilly was a clinic and made me realise how badly I need to see OReilly vs Danielson. Chris Jericho stinks. Thunder Rosa gave Toni Storm easily her best defence of this reign so far, very competitive and was given plenty of time. Ospreay vs Danielson is one of the best wrestling matches that has ever taken place and will almost certainly top my match of the year list. Bucks vs FTR was a fun plunder match and the return of Jack Perry was very well done, although I felt there was a tonne of underselling (Cash took an EVP trigger and was up within 2 minutes and Matthew Jackson looked like he died off of that bump through the table and got up really quickly). Joe vs Swerve was a solid main event but didnt need to go above and beyond to be special because the result was the right one. AEW put on another fantastic PPV, what a surprise!"
[10.0] "This is one of the greatest ppvs i've ever seen we saw history be made last night with Swerve Strickland becoming champion also we saw the greatest pro wrestling match ever in Bryan Danielson vs Will Ospreay. Top to bottom( besides one match) this was just insane match up after insane match up and it makes me very excited for the future of aew."
[8.0] "Had Event of the Year potential but the gas just ran out. I skipped the Jericho/Toni Storm block as both of them are trying my patience. Ospreay/Danielson is my new MOTY frontrunner. Strong/O'Reilly was almost another 10 for me. The two ELITE matches were good but not all-timers, and Joe's offence in the early goings of the main event was excellent, but they just had to do too much assembly to put together that finish. Performers of the night were Ospreay and O'Reilly."
[10.0] "Better than Revolution. It was that good. There were ZERO bad matches. You heard me. Jericho v Hook was serviceable. It wasn't dogshit, it wasn't bad, it was a little slow and clunky but Im so sick and tired of people who cant even pick up 100bls or run for longer than 5 minutes try to say that makes it "unwatchable" or whatever. Also People putting down Willow v Julia are idiots too. Every match was at least good to absolutely fucking amazing. For me this might be the best AEW ppv ever. We can only continue to go up from here. The momentum AEW has for PPVs is nonstop and the roster depth allows for insane flexibility! Adam Cole for fuck sake is still recovering, No Kenny, Hangman or Moxely or Claudio and the show was still THIS GOOD! ? Absolutely amazing."
[9.0] "AEW is off to a great start in 2024. I'm trying to think of a two PPV run that I like more than Revolution + Dynasty and I just can't. This show was incredible, and in my opinion only had one match not worth watching (Jericho v Hook.) Besides the obvious match of the night and instant classic (Ospreay v Danielson), this card had two good women's singles matches, two very strong midcard championship matches, two solid tag matches (both maybe went a bit longer than needed, but other than that minor gripe, they were great), and a main event with a new babyface champion being crowned. Just proves in my opinion that when it comes to in-ring work, AEW are the ones to beat."
[10.0] "AEW knocked it out of the park! Danielson and Ospreay are on another level. That could be the best match ever. The rest of the card was outstanding. Okada v PAC, Bucks v FTR, Swerve v Joe, HOB match were all great. There is nothing like an AEW PPV."
[10.0] "This was simply one of my favorite wrestling Ppv's of all time. Definitely one of AEW's best in their young history. You have an electric crowd; your banger opening match of Okada vs Pac, your all time great dream match in Danielson vs Ospreay, your hidden gem that nobody will talk about in Roddy vs O'Reilly and a feel good title change to close out the show. Classic night."
[10.0] "AEW deliver another awesome PPV. AEW never fail to deliver when it matters. Kazuchika Okada vs PAC was awesome, Okada's heel work since joining AEW has been fantastic and PAC looked a million dollars like he always does. Hope he stays around longer, as he's one of the most interesting guys in AEW. House Of Black vs Briscoe, Kingston and Copeland was an awesome car crash where Mark Briscoe was the highlight of the match, Malakai beating Copeland interests me and I'm looking forward to seeing that feud. Willow vs Hart was decent, good to see Willow as champion, Mercedes vs Willow should be a banger. I didn't dislike HOOK vs Jericho as much as everyone else did. Thought HOOK looked good and I think I'm the only person on planet earth that's interested in what Jericho does next. Storm vs Rosa was good, my favourite Storm match in ages. Everyone went into Danielson vs Ospreay thinking it'd be a five star classic and it delivered. Two of the greatest of all time showing why they're two of the greatest. Young Bucks and FTR had to follow one of the greatest matches of all time and they delivered. Jack Perry returning and helping The Bucks win was pretty obvious but the reveal of Perry being under the Sting mask was awesome and Swerve winning the title from Samoa Joe was a great ending to a great show."
[8.0] "Really the only match worth seeing was Will Ospreay vs Bryan Danielson. The rest of the show was just overbooked. Most of the matches were just "good" (not in the 8 point range, just above average). I didn't stick behind to see the main event since I don't really care about the AEW title, but based on the ratings, I didn't miss mutch."
[7.0] "All but two matches weren't very good or interesting and considering the size of the card and the running time, that's impressive. I'm really soured on the "seizure" sell by Danielson. Making fans spend more time questioning whether or not something is real instead of talking about the match is a bad thing. I docked one point for that. Still a very good show that I would recommend."
[7.0] "Look, there was a LOT of great stuff on this show, A LOT. But I think it could've been better paced, like I felt so worn out by the time the main event came around because we had just come off of the perfection of Ospreay/Danielson and a crazy ladder match. Also the Willow/Julia match went longer than would've been comfortable considering the circumstances, and as per usual Jericho's part of the show sucked hard"
[5.0] "It was good for a live wrestling show but nothing was outstanding, I don't think it was anything outstanding and it definitely doesn't deserve the rating it has atm (9.11) despite 2 very good matches. but i understand american wrestling fans are easily pleased. PAC vs Okada - ****1/4. 6-Man Tag - **3/4. Willow vs Hart - **1/2. Strong vs O'Reilly - ***1/4. Jericho vs Hook - **. Storm vs Rosa - **1/2. Ospreay vs Danielson - ****1/4. Bucks vs FTR - ***3/4. Swerve vs Joe - **3/4. MOTN - Okada vs PAC. WOTM - Jericho vs Hook. Best Worker - PAC. Worst Worker - Chris Jericho/Swerve Strickland/Thunder Rosa/Willow Nightingale."
[10.0] "Another all-timer of a PPV. Every match was at least good (yes, including Jericho/HOOK) except for the TBS title match which was just a little short, but the women did the best in that time. The trios match felt a little out of place, like it could just main event Collision one time but it was still good and sets up Black going for the TNT title. Strong/O'Reilly was great fun although the finish was a bit weird, hope everyone is okay there. Ospreay/Danielson was obviously phenomenal and the ladder match had the inenviable task of following it but was also incredible, saw some real nasty bumps. And finally Swerve is crowned. Amazing, amazing show and pound for pound could be a top 3 for AEW."
[8.0] "A really good PPV that could have been an all-timer if the match order had been slightly different. The stretch from Willow v Julia to Rosa vs Toni featured the four coldest matches on paper, and none of them delivered anything particularly memorable. I understand positioning the Bucks in the semi-main, because you want someone who can wake the crowd up after they get exhausted by Danielson and Osprey, but perhaps switching the International and Continental matches could have broken up the lull in the middle of the card. As far as match quality...it's an AEW pay per view. The high-end matches delivered, and somehow Osprey and Danielson exceeded expectations, which is hard to believe. The low-end matches were all fine. Toni Storm even decided to have a competent match, which was refreshing."
[7.0] "Had some fun, had some bits where I wanted to rip my eyes out, ended up glad I spent the money. Willow/Julia, Ospreay/Dragon and HOOK/Jericho either didn't get time, didn't click with me, or were just straight up embarrassing. Swerve/Joe, Rosa/Storm, HOB/ChickenCopeKingston, Bucks/FTR with the very fun return of Jack Perry and especially PAC/Okada were magnificent. My only real gripe with the high points being that Swerve/Joe more felt like a moment than a match, and as lovely as Swerve's crowning was, I wish he got a little more oomph to it. Fun show. Doesn't top Revolution '24, though really, I don't know what can."
[10.0] "This may be Bias because I was in the building but, that was the best show Ive ever seen, and shit in the last two years alone Ive been to both forbidden doors, All out, Windy City Riot, multiple dynamites and collisions, and that right there was just a different level, from the opening match with Okada and Pac absolutely tearing the house down, that match would have been the MOTN on any other card, to a really fun trios match which you gotta think for the other 5 members of the match how fucking cool it is they get to work with Adam Copeland, a really fun Willow match I just wish it had gone longer, but if Julia does have a bad shoulder I can understand it going short, KOR and Roddy delivered an old school ROH match which was delightful. Then the one stinker of the night honestly if hook goes over it would be a way better match Jericho took some bumps just didnt have the right ending. Toni and Thunder had a fun match I wish they would come up with the technology so it would turn into black and white in the arena but alas. Then the show absolutely went into over drive. There was a were not worthy chant in the crowd and my god we definitely werent worthy because that was the best match Ive ever seen, throw away the star rating Meltzer youll never have a match come close to that one again. Then FTR and the Bucks did something I never expected they delivered a banger of a match that made it so the dreaded crowd lull that should have come after the Ospreay V Danielson match ended never came and kept the crowd engaged, then the scapegoat showed up, for everyone asking who was helped by showing tbe footage.. Jack Perry is your answer that dude got the loudest pop of his career, and that includes Windy City riot I was in the building for both dont Try and argue with me about that. Then we got our New AEW World Champion Sweve Strickland and he definitely deserved it. Joe was great as the champion and deserves all the praise for his reign. All in all a great show I was very lucky to be at"
[9.0] "What can even be said negatively about this show? Every single match hit from top to bottom. The crowd was electric all throughout. The moments were all very special and remind us of why AEW is necessary. Okada vs Pac was an incredible opener. The Trios tag was an unexpected blast. Willow's win was a perfect moment and covered for the injured champion well. Roddy vs Kyle started slow but got awesome throughout. Cole's return and walk was an awesome moment. Unpopular opinion but Jericho vs Hook had the crowd eating out of the palm of its hand and that is what wrestling is all about. Toni had her best match under the Timeless character. Ospreay vs. Bryanay have been the greatest wrestling exhibition of all time. The Ladder Match was also one of the greatest ever and Jack's return was awesome. And the main event crowned a new champion in an era that it's very hard to do so. Just an amazing watch. No complaints."
[10.0] "From top to bottom one of the best wrestling pay per views I can remember. We saw the match of the century, Ospreay vs Danielson, and a bunch of really strong, future-defining matches and title changes. Specifically Ospreay and Danielson need to be mentioned, again and again, as that match not only held up to expectations, but eclipsed prior greatest AEW matches. I hope Danielson is not hurt, as the ending was a bit scary. Second best match belongs to Okada/Pac in my opinion, although the ladder match, the main event and even Strong/O'Reilly can make good arguments for themselves."
[9.0] "As far as wrestling shows go this was a hell of a show. It didn't drag, as some longer shows tend to, and even watching at 1:30 to 7:30 AM in Russia I didn't feel the need to sleep, cause most matches were so damn exciting and great. Obviously it featured one of the best matches of all time, had surprisingly great crowd heat (after recent weekly shows), and didn't disappoint on the billing (apart for JuJu and Willow). I had high expectations and they were met. Not the perfect show at all (with LionHook booking being horrible and TBS belt getting more time for entrances than the match), but absolutely a great one. No.4 in my top shows for 2024, 79.5% of enjoyment with the pre-show and 83.3% without it. 4* and 4.25* respectively."
[9.0] "Great show, another amazing AEW PPV. Not as good as Revolution, but pretty damn close. Back half of the card from Storm/Rosa onward was insanely strong, though the middle did suffer quite a bit from the length of Jericho/Hook and Strong/O'Reilly. While it's a given that AEW will put on an excellent PPV, I think the TV builds could still be slightly stronger in creating hype for these matches. While it's there for the big matches (Bucks/FTR, Joe/Swerve, even Danielson/Ospreay) the undercard still needs work. That's a nitpick, because most of the matches delivered regardless, but it's the only fault I can find with the show aside from not every match being a classic like the last three are. Excellent, but long, show."
[8.0] "Okada vs. Pac: 9/10 Adam Copeland, Eddie Kingston, and Mark Briscoe vs. Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews, and Brody King: 8/10 Willow Nightingale vs. Julia Hart: 5/10 Roderick Strong vs. Kyle O'Reilly: 8/10 Chris Jericho vs. Hook: 3/10 Toni Storm vs. Thunder Rosa: 7/10 Will Ospreay vs. Bryan Danielson: 10/10 Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson vs. Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood: 9/10 Swerve Strickland vs. Samoa Joe: 9/10 AEW Dynasty: 7.5 (8) Final Thoughts: Impressive PPV, Many incredible moments, and what I believe is match of the year. However, some parts lacking, and some questionable booking decisions, all factor in to keeping this from being a 9/10"
"One of the greatest PPVs Ive ever watched, Ospreay/Danielson blew my mind! That match could very well be a contender for greatest match ever on American soil. The rest of the card was extremely strong, had a history making moment with Swerve becoming the first African American AEW champ. However, it did feature also the worst match I have ever seen in my life in HOOK vs Jericho. The positives outweighs the negatives however, and I am extremely pleased with the quality of that PPV. Definitely in my top 3 in AEW history."
[10.0] "The PPV was absolutely incredible. It was the PPV of the year! As a European, I often feel tired when watching live shows, but there was never a moment when I felt tired because it was so good. What a start with a superb match between Pac and Kazuchika Okada then the 3v3 that followed was cool and then the victory for Willow who deserves so much recognition ! Strong and O'Reilly's match was also great, the match between Toni and Thunder Rosa was also very well constructed. Then what can I say about Will Ospreay's match against Bryan Danielson, apart from thanking God I'm alive to appreciate this kind of performance. And worst of all, we followed it up with a banger between YB and FTR for their 4th magnificent confrontation, not forgetting the return of Jack Perry during the match. Finally, the Main Event was absolutely magical with Swerve's victory, which will go down forever in the history of wrestling but also in the history of sport in general for the Afro-American community. Here are my ratings for all the matches: Kazuchika Okada Vs. PAC = 4.5* House Of Black Vs. Adam Copeland, Eddie Kingston & Mark Briscoe = 3, 75* Julia Hart Vs. Willow Nightingale = 2, 5* Kyle O'Reilly Vs. Roderick Strong = 4, 25* Hook Vs. Chris Jericho = 2.5* Toni Storm Vs. Thunder Rosa = 3.5* Will Ospreay Vs. Bryan Danielson = 6** The Young Bucks Vs. FTR IV = 5* Swerve Strickland Vs. Samoa Joe = 5*"
[9.0] "AEW knocks it out of the park (mostly) with another class PPV. Pretty much every match hit, some all-timers in Ospreay/Danielson and Pac/Okada, with strong showings of Toni/Rosa, O'Reilly/Strong, and FTR/Bucks. The only real low point for me was Hook vs. Jericho, and even then it wasn't as sour as the Cole/Jericho match last year. This show feels like a reset button for some of the subpar Dynamites recently, with more forward momentum going into a packed summer with Double or Nothing, Forbidden Door, and All In/All Out. May AEW continue a catalogue of banger shows."
[10.0] "Top to bottom, one of the greatest professional wrestling cards I've ever seen. If you don't like a show like that, then AEW isn't for you. Incredible opener from Pac and Okada which led into an awesome trios match and then a wonderful crowning of the new tbs champion willow. Roddy and Kyle had an absolute banger for the international title and the women's title match was both ladies best outing in a long time. And man what else can you say about that final 3 matches. Just perfection when it comes to professional wreslting What a night"
[9.0] "Incredible show. The only bad match was (arguably) Jericho vs Hook. It was much more fun than I anticipated. Yet, Jericho was sloppy throughout the match. His recent matches follow the same scheme: Jericho is an old wolf who knows his way around the matches. And well, that is simply true. This time under the 'Learning Tree' gimmick, Jericho pulled every old school heelish tricks in order to overcome Hook and well he did. But the FTW stipulation and Hook were the ones actually carrying the match. So sad that Jericho became a charisma vacuum but the crowd clearly dissed him and wanted him to go. I am unsure if this FTW storyline will prepare Jericho to yet another heel run but I hope he puts over Hook big time and disappear for a good while. And then, every match clicked (but there are levels to it). Nightingale vs Hart was decent but I wouldn't think it was a PPV caliber match either. Hart's injury could have something to do with it so they cut it rather short and Nightingale went soft. Either way, it was a feel good moment and set up Nightingale-Mone II. Rosa vs Storm was... Awkward. It was a 50/50 match as in it was a good match after some certain point where it become overly gimmicky and sloppy. Rosa had a much better performance tonight but I still found her to a bit unready. Toni, on the other hand, relies heavily on her modern gimmick and it takes away from the match. Okada vs Pac incredible, the second 9.0 match of the night (after the main event) and a fantastic opener to a very strong show. Okada's really gonna big in AEW, he has a solid control of his matches. Strong vs KoR was also very welcome where KoR would target limbs and Roddy would target the back of Reilly's. It could have shined more if this was not a stacked card which overdelivered. Cole's return was also welcome and that nasty look to Wardlow was cool. Trios match was mad at times but it didn't involve Malakai as much as you'd want to. It's once again a recurring problem that is an injured wrestler working the match without being 100%. The finish was a bit cliche but it works for Copeland to take a fall (which was obviously intended) which would set Malakai vs Copeland and which would probably mean Malakai's first singles title. All the other 3 matches were dope. I didn't like the finish to Ladder Match but I guess it had to happen. Started fast and they went all in. The main event was terrific that set the Swerve's historic win and Joe still looked dominant and powerful in his defeat. Different styles clashed and they matched up pretty well. Ospreay vs Danielson was an all timer from start to finish, never tired of it even for a brief second."
[10.0] "For a second, I was teetering on whether or not I should give this a 9 or a 10, simply because of Hook vs. Chris Jericho. That match was very close to actually ruining this show for me, because of how genuinely fucking awful of a booking decision that was. Despite that match, it's obvious to say the positives certainly outweigh the good, and while this isn't my favorite show of the year it's certainly damn close. Okada vs. PAC was a great opener, the 6 man tag team match was a lot of fun with a ton of great dynamics going on, Willow winning the TBS title was a good result, Roderick Strong vs. Kyle O'Reilly was a nigh technical masterpiece, and Toni Storm had an actually decent PPV match instead of the usual shenanigans. But what makes this show one of the best of the year is the last three matches of the show. We all expected Will Ospreay vs. Bryan Danielson to be a match of the year contender before it even happened, and they fucking delivered. I seriously don't know how either Ospreay or Danielson keeps doing this, but they just simply can't stop. The AEW World Tag Team Title Ladder Match was really, really fucking good, with some insane stunts between both teams, and Jack Perry interfering was just simply ingenious. And the last match ended the show with a very happy ending, with Swerve Strickland winning the gold after a very simple, but captivating match. Seriously, the only truly bad thing on this card is Hook vs. Chris Jericho. If Hook won that match, it would have been a totally fine, entertaining midcard match, but Jericho winning the belt was a horrendous booking choice that soured my mood for a bit, and made it hard to enjoy the show until Danielson vs. Ospreay. Overall, a contender for one of the best shows of the year, even if it's not my personal choice."
[10.0] "Great PPV, quite entertaining from start to finish. The fight between Okada vs PAC was fantastic, for me one of the best openings that an AEW PPV has ever had and if not, it easily enters the top 5. Good chemistry and synchrony between the two, good results without harming PAC. Correct trio fight between the Copeland vs HOB team, I was quite surprised that Malakai will take the pin and against Copeland, but if all this is to have a long-term story for DON between the two, he accepted it. The fight between Hart and Willow was poor, but I can understand that the injuries the champion had before led to it being a fairly short fight. Great fight between Roderick and Kyle, one of the best defenses that Strong has had in his reign and I hope that all this leads to something interesting in the championship around him. I'm going to go against the grain, but I loved Jericho and HOOK's fight, it was entertaining and dynamic, something that hadn't happened to me months ago with a Jericho fight. Now, I'm liking Jericho's character too much, I would like to see him developed on TV soon. The women's fight between Toni and Rosa was quite regular, it surprised my expectations and I would say that it is the best defense to date that Toni's reign has had. Congratulations to both girls. I don't think there are many words that describe what we felt at Ospreay vs Danielson, I will only say that it was MASTERFUL. Finally, I found the last two fights quite entertaining with their story behind them. Dynamic and with good sequences, so perfect. 10/10."
[7.0] "what a rollacoster of a show. started off pretty strong with the pac and okada, then it kinda fell off until the international title match, jericho match almost killed the show for me with that nasty match lol and he should have not beaten hook lol, both womens match were good, [toni's best match]. Ospreay vs Danielson was generational, this was one of the best matches of the year. Great showcase for Ospreay. last 2 matches fell kinda flat for me, Jack Perry making his return was kinda eh but it is what it is. Main Event was pretty garbage but a very good feel moment for Swerve Strickland being the first black World Champion in company history. Solid stuff."
[9.0] "This was easily one of the very best AEW PPVs ever. I think if you watch this PPV and you dont find a match or two that you really enjoy, AEW is not for you. An unbelievable effort by AEW. PAC vs Okada was excellent. Okadas best match in AEW. Thunder Rosa and Toni Storm had a good match and over performed expectations. Might have been Thunders best regular wrestling match in AEW. The Danielson vs Ospreay match was one of my most favourite matches of all time. I think it tops Zayn vs Gunther for me. And congrats to Swerve. Beat Joe in another good match. I would go 10 if it wasnt for that crappy Hook vs Jericho match. That was way too long and Hook shouldnt be having those kind of matches at his current experience level. Buy this PPV and time your bathroom break and snack run for the Jericho match."
[9.0] "Very, very, very good show. Everything hit for me. Ospreay/Danielson obviously, but Okada/Pac and the tag ladder match were all match of the year contenders on the same show. Swerve being crowned was an awesome moment. Down points were just solid, and carried to being even better by a white hot crowd. Genuinely may be one of the best crowds in the last few years across any company. The lowest point was Hook/Jericho, main reason for me not giving the show ten, even then I thought it was a fun hardcore match that just dragged at the end of it. Even if the rest of the show sucked though, the first three matches I mentioned would carry it to at least a 7/10. For a company that is supposedly dying every week, it looked pretty healthy here."
[10.0] "If you were to believe the doomsayers on social media, you'd believe that AEW was dying. Tony can't book, Warner are gonna cancel Dynamite, Shahid is gonna step in and cut off the money tap. And it's against this backlash of negativity (which they really need to start to counter; for god's sake, Tony, hire PR guys, you have the money! ) when their backs are against the wall that AEW truly starts to shine. We had a match of the year contender, two matches that would've been solid Matches of the Night if it wasn't for the aforementioned MOTY candidate, and a slew of incredibly strong and solid wrestling up and down the card. Even Willow/Julia served its purpose as a story beat. The only true misfire tonight was Jericho/Hook, but I get that's it's another story-beat match despite my distaste for it. And hey, even the best cards in history - Revolution 2024, All Out 2021, Wrestle Kingdom 11 - have had at least one stinker on the card. I said before tonight this was going to be a sleeper hit like last year's WrestleDream, and it looks like I was right. What a show. The feeling is truly back again."
[9.0] "Just a great pro wrestling PPV, what else can be said? Continental, International, Danielson, & Main Event were all excellent matches, Women's & Tag were great, Trios match was good fun, and WILLOW WON A BELT. The only black mark on this entire show (and that includes the pre-show which had two good matches and an okay one) was Jericho proving he's washed while going over a guy decades younger than him in a way I'm sure he thought elevated HOOK when he didn't. With how well this show went, I don't get why they felt they needed to air the All In footage on Dynamite and not just Twitter."
[9.0] "[8.9] Extremely good show. Okada vs PAC was an amazing opener, the six man tag was fun, Willow vs Julia was okay, Roddy vs Kyle was a really good showing for both men, Roddy showing he's more than a comedy act and Kyle showing he can still go, Rosa vs Storm was the best match of Toni's reign so far, Danielson vs Ospreay is the easy Match of the Year and likely will stay that way unless we get Omega/Okada 5 at Wembley, Bucks vs FTR was really good and was capped off by the return of Jack Perry, and Swerve vs Joe was a pretty good match and a better coming out party for Swerve as a main eventer than the triple threat. All in all, great show, kept from a 10 by one baffling match, that being Jericho vs HOOK."
[10.0] "Perhaps the best AEW PPV of all time, i'll have to let it sink in a little bit first but it still is easily a 10/10 show, nothing truly bad on this card, even the Jericho/Hook match has me inspired and hoping for some great heel work from Jericho, Thunder Rosa and Toni Storm finally clicked tonight and they both finally delievered in the ring, Pac was awesome to have back, Malakai Black pinning Copeland is nuts, Strong vs O'Reilly was just damn good pro wrasslin', and then we get onto the last 3 matches, unbelievable feeling for Ospreay vs Danielson perhaps one of the greatest matches of all time, an excellent well done ladder match that overdelievered, and then a fantastic strong main event that gave everyone what they wanted in Swerve's victory, a smash success for AEW tonight."
