| 1 | 02.11.2023 | Dkex | 6.0 | Impact beginnt mit einer sehr ordentlichen In-Ring Promo von Josh Alexander. Vernünftig abgelieferter Standard, mit dem Erscheinen von Bully Ray wurde es interessanter. Dann wollen sich noch Maclin und Moose ins Titelgeschehen drängen und das ergibt insgesamt ein sehr langes, aber gutes Segment, bis Bobby Fish aufgetaucht ist, das war öde. Nach 2 netten Segmenten rund um die Tag Team Title Contendership gibt es Killer Kelly vs. Tasha Steelz. Das war okay, aber etwas enttäuschend und ein unspektakuläres Fehdenende. Das Segment mit Swinger und Dango brauch ich nun wirklich nicht, danach folgt noch ein interessantes Gesprach zwischen D'Amore und Alexander. Das Scramble Match war für die Kürze durchaus unterhaltsam, konnte sich bei 5 Minuten aber nicht entfalten. Irgendwie witzig ist die Tatsache, das Miguel wohl nach seinem Sieg sofort in die Parkgarage gelaufen ist um dort zu Kazarian und Bailey zu stoßen, das hätte man anders machen können. Shaw/VXT vs. Death Dolls war dann auch nur 5 Minuten lang und war passabel. Mit den Death Dollz kann ich immer noch wenig anfangen, das war aber schon mal viel schlimmer. Backstage gibt es ein nettes Segment zwischen Bully Ray und Dreamer. Das Segment mit den Resten von Honor No More war dann das Übliche. Cardona vs. Bhupinder war dann weiteres kurzes Match und relativ unspektakulär. Das Backstage Segment mit Mickie James und VXT war dann recht gut, James vs. Green zeichnet sich ab und macht auch Sinn. Der Main Event war dann gut, aber trotzdem einer der weniger erinnerungswürdigen Titelverteidigungen von Alexander. Nach dem Match kündig sich Kaz als der nächste Contender an und legt deshalb seinen X-Division Title nieder. Die Show insgesamt war absolut Ordentlich, hatte kein totales Lowlight aber auch kein absolutes Highlight. |

The champion is very relevant now and the prestige of the brand is rising from this, the ultimate goal is clear and you understand what everything is coming from now. The integrity of the brand is undeniable and of course I can see how everyone is happy with it. A show where everything correctly revolves around the World Trophy and where other conflicts somehow do not interfere at all. |

What this episode does have is a bit of character and story progression, with challengers to the world championship being a story which is touched upon throughout the episode. I'm always in favour of episodes having a single story threaded throughout. Bully Ray may be a controversial pick for the Call Your Shot winner but he can definitely speak with confidence and coherence and is actually a pretty good actor by pro wrestling standards at least. |
