[7.0] "Hiroshi Tanahashi & Yuto Nakashima VS EVIL & SHO: Good match to start the day. It was a nice showing from Yuto and Sho, while Tanahashi and EVIL exchanges were not pretty interesting. Anyway, satisfactory match. [***]; El Phantasmo & KENTA VS Royce Isaacs & Tom Lawlor: Another good one. Pretty much speedy than the previous match, but this with some nice interactions and a good preview for their respective match. Satisfactory match [***1/4]; Great-O-Khan & Jeff Cobb VS Bad Dude Tito & JONAH: Wow another really interesting match. This fight between the Juggernauts of the block was a pretty nice preview of their near match. Tito and O-Khan also made some nice moves in the background. Another satsifactory match for the show. [***1/2]; Kazuchika Okada, YOSHI-HASHI, David Finlay & Ryohei Oiwa VS Chase Owens, Gedo, Jay White & Juice Robinson: Another good showing, These matches are pretty much fun when there is a lot of wrestling in it. CHAOS members did a really good job during the match., specially YOSHI-HASHI and Oiwa, Chase Owens was really solid too. Satisfactory match. [***1/2]; Lance Archer, Taichi, TAKA Michinoku & Zack Sabre Jr. VS BUSHI, SANADA, Shingo Takagi & Tetsuya Naito: Satisfactory match to close the filler block of preview battles. It's always nice to see LIJ battling in these previews, they always show higher skills and interesting things that other factions. Satisfactory match. [***1/4]; G1 Climax 2022 Block D Match: Pretty intense match. Just a man like Will Ospreay could get a decent match from Yujiro, he almost looked like a real threat to the US Champ. Good moves and interactions, the crowd helped a lot too. Satisfactory match. [***1/2]; Toru Yano VS Bad Luck Fale: The expected for a Yano/Fale match, funny moves, David VS Goliat, the clown VS the juggernaut. Even if they have wrestled in the past many times, during this match bring some new things. Satisfactory match here. [***1/2]; Hirooki Goto VS Aaron Henare: Wow, what a brutal fight. This was truly the surprising match of the night. Both wrestlers are having a great run during this G1, both looking pretty strong. Maybe it wasn't the most accurate end, due to the past results of the block, but anyway, I really enjoyed this. Good match. [****1/2]; Tomohiro Ishii VS Tama Tonga: Ishii looked pretty much dominant during this match. Although Tama tried to do some important offense, Ishii looked again as that Bulldog player that destroys everything in his path. This match lacked of some more emotion behind it, but still was pretty nice. Satisfactory one. [***3/4]; Another satisfactory show, really the highlight of this was Henare VS Gooto, and some other interesting matches for the upper card and the filler matches. Recommended to see for the lovers of juggernauts battles. [***3/4]"

[6.0] "Three of the four matches were successful. I am not a fan of garbage matches at the tournament and it would be better if they did not exist at all. Three matches a day is always enough. Tomohiro Ishii is still undervalued in his native walls, as for me, he can still be deservedly rewarded with a big victory in the tournament. Hirooki Goto is looking younger in the ring, it is clear that he is back on the horse and ready to surprise. In general, quite a normal show from Japan."

[5.0] "Another of the more mediocre nights of the 2022 G1. There weren't any especially great matches, but the majority of them were 'good' at the very least (excluding the obvious dud match). Yujiro vs Ospreay was alright. Yujirio's offence was mostly slow and underwhelming, while Ospreay's was typically flashy, smooth, and impactful. Yujiro offered nothing interesting, but Ospreay was great enough to carry this with his tremendous athleticism and his convincing 2.99 kick-outs. ***. Yano vs Fale was pretty awful. It was the typical worn-out Yano shenanigans plus the typical 0-effort and 0-energy from Fale, resulting in a wholly worthless performance -- the worst of the tournament so far. *. Goto vs Henare was a pretty good 'strong-style' match. They had good chemistry through all their grappling and striking exchanges. Henare once again looked good with his various unique punches and kicks, some of which looked genuinely great. He also showed good fighting spirit when it came to their pure 50/50 trades. Goto's own strikes were good too, making him a good opponent to comfortably match Henare's style. I'm glad to see Henare finally getting the chance to impress in NJPW after all the years he's been with the company. ***1/4. Ishii vs Tama was looking to be a pretty generic Ishii strikefest but actually ended up being more of a 'bombfest' focussed more on 'big move' in general and not specifically just big strikes, with Tama impressing as he held his own against Ishii. He showed good energy, agility, and intensity all match long, making for a nice counter to Ishii's slower speed, and he also sold and bumped extremely well for all of Ishii's attacks (with some of his bumps for Ishii's signature strikes looking really awesome). Tama would also hit some pretty slick counters to turn the tables when he was on the defensive, which was always quite exciting. Seeing the crowd rally behind him was quite endearing as well. Their more explosive and creative exchanges and spots in the 2nd half were quite exciting, all of which were executed with very strong chemistry. Ishii's selling there was really good, as were Tama's fiery displays of passion. Definitely one of Tama's best ever singles performances. It's just a shame he didn't get a vocal crowd to make more noise and more than likely raise the drama of the atmosphere even further. If *this* is how Tama is going to wrestle now that he's a babyface, then count me as a fan. ***1/4 - ***1/2"

[7.0] "A 7 feels wrong when one of the matches is an entirely skipable Fale match (like there's any other kind), and another has Yujiro, but the last two matches are more than worth it."

[8.0] "Another great night of G1 action. Yujiro actually keeping up with Ospreay was huge surprise, Fale and Yano did nothing of value, Goto and Henare was also a huge surprise and Ishii and Tonga really showed why Ishii should win the tournament."

[6.0] "Another solid G1 night. Aaron Henare has turned in two strong, unexpectedly so, performances this tourney. The Pieter, ELP, Yujior saga is over before it started but that was silliness anyway. Main event was about as good a hard man fight as you're going to see."
