[7.0] "For my money this was the best night of the tournament. Nothing was bad, even if nothing was re-watch fantastic. I'll take a show of 3/12 star matches than a show that has one match of the year contender and a bunch of duds. It seems some of the low ratings on here are just raging at results which is... well, you do you I guess. [Kojima vs G-O-K] 3 ¼ stars (Worst of the Night). [Ishii vs Yano] - 3 ½ stars. [Shingo vs Yujiro] - 3 ¾ stars (Match of the Night). [ZSJ vs Tanga] - 3 ½ stars. [Ibushi vs Tanga] - 3 ¾ stars. Average match rating: 3.55 of 5 stars (or 7.1 of 10). Rounded to 7 for Cagematch."

[1.0] "Kota Ibushi, in the final, 4 years in a roll, is there really no one available for New Japan? He is already 39! Where is the future of this company? Why can't they just give a chance to ZSJ or Ishii? Besides, the matches sucks, too. I never thought that there would be a representative decision match boring like this one between Ibushi and KENTA (is there anyone still believe in KENTA? ). It sucks, it just sucks. If NJPW no longer has exciting matches, than why would I still care about it? This company is already RUSTED, from inside to outside. I used to be a fan of New Japan, really, but now it just makes me feel disgusting. Besides, Ibushi was not really recovered at that time, but he still was required to compete in the final, which I believe caused that serious injury. This again proved that the decision, the whole booking of G1(at least for the A block) is just an outright mistake."

[6.0] "I'd give this a high '5' or a low '6' with the final two matches being the only ones really worth watching. Not up to standard for a block finale, in my opinion. Parts of this show really tested my patience but I did think ZSJ vs Loa was quite good and I think the main event was more good then bad, but there was definitely some bad mixed in there."

[7.0] "- Yano vs Ishii 5/10: kinda too long, they tried some fun stuff but it didn't do it for me. Weird to see Yano at 10 points while Taichi and SANADA won't get double digits, tho of course Naito's absence is to blame. - Shingo vs Yujiro 6/10: nothing bad and there's not even anything wrong with the finish but this was just ok, nothing to remember if not the weird finish. - Tanga Loa vs Zack 6.5/10: a bit too long for my taste in this type of match but they still delivered a solid match. - Ibushi vs KENTA 7/10: estabilishing the countout as big match ender is nice but aside from that this match was just good. Don't get me wrong there was a lot of good stuff and it's not easy to see matches of this caliber weekly in WWE (at least when I watched their weekly matches) and I really liked the finish, but it lacked the epic factor. Mostly I don't buy into KENTA as a G1 finalist but then again, Naito's injury kinda ruined the whole block so it's not really NJPW's fault as Naito was supposed to have a chance at winning but fall to O-Khan. -show 6.5/10: nothing to write home about."

[1.0] "Worst NJPW show in my memory. There are no really terrible matches here, but absolutely every booking decision was just disgusting. I have a awful aftertaste after this show, a similar emptiness I experienced only after last year's Dominion"

[7.0] "A bit lacking for a Block final, but a perfectly serviceable night of wrestling. The best match was definitely ZSJ v Tanga, but the main event wasn't a bad match either, but I felt Ibushi v KENTA was lacking for being the block final. All in all I recommend, with the caveat that you don't come in expecting the normal quality of a G1 Block final night."

[7.0] "Naito's absence was felt in A Block, with a somewhat underwhelming finish here (I fully believe the original plan was for Naito vs GOK to headline and be the final), but is credit to the others who stepped up in a big way during the tournament to make A Block more entertaining than expected after the damaging injury and forfeits after only Night 1. Tanga Loa had his best singles match yet vs ZSJ, who has been re-established back close to the heights he had winning the New Japan Cup a few years back. The block final between Ibushi vs Kenta will prove to be unmemorable compared to some of the classics seen over the last decade and failed to ever make me truly believe Kenta may pull off the upset, but sets up an intriguing final vs either the undefeated Jeff Cobb, or Kazuchika Okada getting back into Rainmaker Mode, in what would be a repeat of the 2020 Match of The Year."

[7.0] "A Block finals was a solid show to end off a super compelling A Block tournament. Gedo booked this as a nail biter to the end and despite a disappointing result, it was a good tournament for A Block. Tonight's show had solid to good matches and did some more set up for Power Struggle."

[6.0] "Everything was solid, although nothing was spectacular, so a bit disappointing when compared to past Night 17's. ZSJ vs. Loa was great whilst Ibushi vs. KENTA might be the most polarizing match of the year!"
