[8.0] "To say this is the best ppv in WWE history is just wrong in my opinion. It is a really good show and there is quite a few great matches and a few good, but there is just as many not great. Near the middle there are three 4-5/10 matches in a row."
So ein Three Way Hardcore Championshipmatch wie Hier würde Ich gerne heute nochmal sehen. Fantastische Action und eines meiner absoluten Lieblings Matches Of All Time.
[5.0] "The major wrestling show of the year opened with a match between Jericho and Regal for WWF Intercontinental Title. Decent enough for an opener that warms things up, but given their talent they could have easily showed a better match (6/10). Moving on to the string of three boring and weak matches, we have an ordinary Six Man Tag Team Match that was less than 5 minutes (5/10), WWF Hardcore Title Triple Threat Match that had interesting concept on paper, but was boring to watch (5/10), and WWF European Title Match between Eddie and Test that was nothing special (5/10). Then we would have Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit that had some good moments, but was ruined with lack of structure and an anticlimatic ending. Decent match, but when you see these two in the ring, you expect something better and more special than that (6/10). The next match was between Ivory and Chyna for WWF World Women's Title. It was probably the worst match of the show that fortunately did not last too long (4/10). After all of these okay to mediocre matches, we can finally draw a line here and move on to a significantly better half of the show. Street Fight Match between Shane and Vince was more of a spectacle than actual wrestling, but it was really entertaining (7/10). And then we finally have it. The legendary TLC Three Way Tag Team Match with The Dudley Boyz, The Hardy Boyz, and Christian and Edge for WWF World Tag Team Titles. This is not only one of the highlights of the show, but it is one of the best matches in this company and dare I say in wrestling history in general. So many memorable moments here, it was simply phenomenal. The best match on the card, that is for sure (9/10). Then we have a short filler Battle Royal Match (4/10), followed by Triple H vs. Taker that was definitely one of the better matches on the card (7/10). Mania closed with Steve Austin vs. The Rock for WWF World Heavyweight Title. First of all, what an amazing video package. Nu Metal goes so well with wrestling and creates such a big feel for this match. As for the match itself, it was a total bloody war. They left everything they had on that ring (8/10). This Wrestlemania is the highest rated on this website and is widely regarded as the best Wrestlemania ever. There are some good to great matches (TLC and Austin vs. The Rock in particular are one of the best matches in WWF/E history) that make this Mania memorable. However, the first half of the show is just too weak and boring to sit through and this reason alone makes this Wrestlemania hard to watch as a whole. I would rate this show 5.5/10. Best match: TLC. Recommended matches: Austin vs. The Rock, Shane vs. Vince, Triple H vs. Taker. Worst match: Ivory vs. Chyna."
[9.0] "An incredible night, easily one of the best WrestleManias in history. The main event lived up to the hype, with Vince's involvement and Austin's heel turn creating a memorable finish. The TLC match stole the show, with every participant delivering, and the standout spot being Jeff Hardy taking Edge's Spear in midair. Taker vs. Triple H was solid, Angle vs. Benoit showcased technical brilliance, and the Hardcore Title Triple Threat gave Kane a chance to shine. Some matches felt unnecessary for the biggest show of the year, and the gimmick Battle Royal was goofy, but the card had far more highs than lows. The McMahons match was highly entertaining, and Linda McMahon earned one of the loudest pops of the night."
[9.0] "An incredible night that is probably one of the best Wrestlemania's in history. The main event really lived up to the hype, even with Vince's involvement for the finish and the Austin heel turn to close the show. The TLC match really stole the show with everyone involved really putting on a classic and the spot of the night had to be Jeff Hardy taking The Spear from Edge in midair. Taker/Triple H was solid as was Angle/Benoit, and the Hardcore Title Triple Threat really delivered and was a great spot for Kane to shine if he wasn't going to be in a more meaningful storyline. There were definitely some matches that didn't seem to warrant being on the biggest show of the year, and the gimmick Battle Royal was just goofy but there were certainly many more ups than downs on this card. The McMahons match was super entertaining and I feel like Linda McMahon got one of the biggest pops of the night. Solid 4 stars."
[10.0] "The best Wrestlemania ever. This statement is as common as "water is wet" in the wresting world, but it is the undeniable truth. Wrestlemania X7 is just a ridiculously good show that showcases the pinnacle of wrestling. A lot of that is due to the variety on the show, and there's a lot of variety. The main event is an intense brawl full of big moves, finishers, twists & turns, and capped off with a finish so shocking it killed the wrestling boom. Austin/Rock have a very good claim to be the best Mania main event ever, and there still is so much more to this show than this match. The Hardcore triple threat has all the silly hardcore brawling you could want, Angle/Benoit is a pure wrestling clinic meant to satisfy the purist of Real Graps fans, the battle of the McMahons is soap opera bliss, filled with memorable moments and one of the best pops in Wrestling history, TLC II is a death-defying spectacle and my MOTN, and HHH/Taker is a very good semi-main event featuring two top stars and one hell of a spot. Even the lesser moments of the shows such as the RTC matches, the gimmick battle royal, and the European championship match are fun and serve their purpose and place on the card. It is the best Wreslemania ever, simple as that."
[6.0] "Most overrated show of all time. The opener is quite enjoyable, like most of jericho's matches. After that, most matches were fillers, no good wrestling until the TLC, filled with embarasing matches such as guerrero vs test, chyna vs ivory, the gimmick battle royal. And, oh my god benoit vs angle, which was the most boring matche this two ever had. I mean it's basicaly average chain wrestling with a botched roll up. Vince vs Shane is more of a drama match than an actual street fight. The Six Man Tag Team Match is absolutely forgetable. The tlc is awesome but the sms 2000's was better. HHH vs Taker is cool but for unreal referee bump And the main event...... Fantastic match but way too much finishers and kick outs. and the ending is probably one of the absolute worst nonsense ever."
"A 'high water mark' as far as WWF/E pay per views go. The relative low point of the 'gimmick battle royal' is completely forgivable given the majority of this card. This event takes place basically immediately on the back of the folding of ECW in 2001- resulting in several matches early in the card featuring talent from the late promotion. There is a small roster of really incredible matches on this card- namely TLC2 (a particularly strong gimmick match concept executed to perfection), Benoit/Angle (a masterclass in technical wrestling and severely underrated and under-watched match for obvious and justified reasons), and the main event (featuring an incredible heel turn at the end). Generally speaking, this is the Wrestlemania to show to an up-and-coming fan. It showcases the full range of truly solid booking and strong talent that was afforded to WWF at the turn of the millennium: a 5 star PPV for the WWF if there ever was such a thing."
"To this day one of my favorite PPV's of all time. Lots of fun stakes and story throughout. Nostalgic and an easy watch. I try to go back to it once a year at least."
[10.0] "This was a perfect WrestleMania where every match hit in the right way. The entire event encapsulated the entire Attitude Era in one night where there was just something for everyone. If you want a great wrestling match you have Angle v Benoit. If you like your soap opera style drama it doesn't get much better than Vince vs Shane. If you like a big spotfest TLC II is the daddy of those kind of matches. Even the Gimmick Battle Royal is a nice tribute to the characters of yesteryear. There's great matches people still talk about to this day like the outstanding Rock v Austin match, which ended in a really shocking Austin heel turn and there are great matches that are somewhat overshadowed like the Hardcore Title match and Undertaker v Triple H. It's a fantastic show from top to bottom and it is still to this day my favorite wrestling event of all time."
[10.0] "This is the best WrestleMania WWE ever produced. The Astrodome is such a beautiful venue and the stage is iconic. The show starts with Chris Jericho (c) vs. William Regal for the Intercontinental Title. The match was really good with the fairly short time they had. APA/Tazz (with Jacqueline) vs. Right To Censor (with Steven Richards) was a match I'd expect to see on RAW or SmackDown and wasn't fit to be a Mania match. Kane vs. Big Show vs. Raven (c) for the Hardcore Title was amazing. Raven got the shit beat outta him by Kane, getting thrown through a window and ran over with a golf cart. Big Show did well but the main highlights are Raven and Kane. Eddie Guerrero vs. Test (c) for the European title was a decent title match. The action was solid but I feel like the amount of interference by Dean Malenko & Perry Saturn made Eddie look weak to Test having needed both of the remaining Radicalz's help to win. Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit is another masterpiece that they had. They did actual wrestling, which you'd see in the Olympics or NCAA, before transitioning to the pro moves. Chyna vs. Ivory (c) for the Women's title was definitely a career highlight for Chyna as it is her last WWE championship win before moving to porn but it's a squash match. It does make Chyna look dominate and has a great story behind the match but it falls flat in terms of in-ring action. Shane McMahon vs. Vince McMahon in a street fight is a highlight of the whole show. Shane had just taken WCW out from under Vince and the plan was to have some WCW guys get involved in the match. Sadly, Shawn Stasiak had blabbed about it to some media outlet and they got thrown in a skybox. The match was insane with some great work from Linda McMahon and Shane. We see his first Coast to Coast ever here. TLC II happens next and oh man its the best match on the card. It has been talked to death on YouTube and other wrestling forums but its awesome. The Gimmick Battle Royal was one of those legend reunion moments that was a quick paycheck for the boys and didn't serve any other purpose. Doink (who was played by Ray Apollo and not Matt Borne) got the biggest reaction out of the crowd and got the loudest boo I've ever heard when he got eliminated. The eliminations were quick and Iron Sheik won. HHH vs. Undertaker was their first of three Mania matches and it is insanely good. It definitely gets outshadowed by their Hell in a Cell match but it is good. HHH got chokeslammed to shit by the hard cam. Austin vs. Rock II was an impeciable main event and arguably a top 5 WrestleMania main event of all time. Vince McMahon interferes and Austin becomes WWF champ once again. This event is the begginning of Steve's heel turn with the 2 Man Power Trip and Alliance coming soon after."
[10.0] "Live from an absolute beauty of a building in the sold out Houston Astrodome, Wrestlemania 17 has the reputation as the best pay per view of all time. I think it does indeed meet this unique qualification, as the card from top to bottom is entertaining. That even includes Chyna - Ivory, as at least Chyna is presented like a mega star and looks tremendous. Two ALL TIME great matches in TLC II and the main event. The former with the Dudleyz, Hardys, & Edge and Christian and the perfectly booked run ins of Little Spike Dudley (LSD), Lita, and Rhyno. The latter with the two biggest stars of the Attitude Era in Austin & Rock. I also love the Gimmick Battle Royal. Watch this show if you haven't."
[8.0] "For it not being the most perfect event in terms of all matches being top tier, yet still be dubbed the greatest Mania ever, speaks volume how good the highly rated matches were. Incredible event."
[9.0] "The first Mania that actually reached heights matching the events prestige. Enjoyable from start to finish. Jericho and Regal have a fun fast paced opener that worked well, it could've used a bit more time though (7/10) The APA and Tazz kill Right to censor in a solid and short bout (6/10) The Hardcore triple threat has enough dumb fun to make up for the walk and brawl sections (7/10) Eddie VS Test is solid, but probably one of the more forgettable parts of the show (6/10). Angle/Benoit was the best technical match of the night (8/10) Women's title match was a squash that did what it needed to do and nothing more, nice win for Chyna (5/10) Shane/Vince was as much fun as it could be and more considering who was in the ring (8/10) TLC still holds up as an incredibly fun car crash (10/10), The Gimmick battle royale is the weakest in ring for obvious reasons but its nice to hear Heenan and Okerlund (5/10) Triple H gives the Undertaker his first entertaining Mania match with a good brawl (8/10) and the show closes with an epic Austin/Rock main event that outshines their previous Mania closer by miles (10/10). Not a perfect show all the way but damn close to it"
[10.0] "One of the greatest, if not THE greatest, Wrestlemania's we have ever had, this was brilliant. None of the matches left me bored or uninterested, each one had something to capture my attention, and the ending to it was peak entertainment."
[10.0] "The great mania with important relevance. Wished had they removed the six man tag between RTC and APA and tazz and the gimmick battle royale and gave Chyna vs ivory much more. This would have been even more solid card. While I hate the Austin shaking with the devil shit. It's still a great show with memorable moments. This should be the blueprints. Atleast 60% of the card being show stealers and classic. That's why this was awesome"
[10.0] "What I like about Wrestlemania X-Seven is that there's something for everyone. Backstage brawl, technical wrestling, family drama, lot of bumps and, most importantly, a battle royale with old timers. And let's not forget a landmark finale that close an whole era. WM17 is more than just of the sum of its parts, it's a landmark in the wrestling universe that will never be forget,"
[10.0] "The greatest wrestling event of all time, and the stunning crescendo to the Attitude Era. WM17 is stacked with great matches, top-tier storytelling and a fantastic atmosphere. There are many little things I love in this show: Heyman on comms is fantastic; the My Way theme song; the pacing throughout; the graphics; Linda in the street fight; it being the first WM stadium show in a while; Mean Gene and Heenan on the Battle Royal; Motorhead."
[10.0] "Now this is a PPV. The big blow-off of the attitude era. Great variety of matches with a couple of epic ones thrown in. All capped off with two of the biggest stars in wrestling battling each other in the main event. No PPV has come close to this one!"
[10.0] "Whenever the topic of best Wrestlemania comes up, this is high on everyone's list and there's a reason for that. Not only is it the culmination of an era of wrestling that many loved, but it's also a very fun and varied show with a little bit of something for everyone. Still the best Wrestlemania of all time for my money."
[10.0] "The Greatest Wrestling Show of all time. WrestleMania 17 is peak attitude era u have all the top stars crazy storylines and the most entertaining wrestling has ever been. The Show starts off With a Good Chris Jericho & William Regal Match for the intercontinental championship. Then you have a quick Little six man tag team match. After that Kane, Big Show and Raven have an really fun hardcore match for the hardcore title. Next up Eddie Guerrero & Test have an ok match for the European Championship. And then Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit do what they do best and have an amazing technical wrestling match. After that Chyna defeats Ivory in a quick Squash match for the Woman's Championship. And then you have the attitude era summed up in one match Vince McMahon Vs His Son Shane O Mac in a Street Fight With Shane's Mom Linda in his Corner & Stephanie McMahon in Vince's match was a ton of fun. After McMahon Vs McMahon we have what's tied for best match of the night in TLC 2 Between The Hardy's Vs Edge & Christian Vs The Dudley's in a TLC Match for the Tag Team Championships. This was a blast there was so much chaos, body's were flying everywhere, some of the bumps were nuts and it also has the most famous spot in wrestling history with Edge Spearing Jeff Hardy Dangling 20 Feet in the Air. Then We have a legends battle royal with the Iron Sheik being the Winner. After that We have the first Undertaker & Triple H WrestleMania Match which was good not as good as the other 2 but still good none the less. And Finally the Main Event the best match of the night in Stone Cold Steve Austin Vs The Rock for the WWF Championship in which is the Greatest WrestleMania Main Event of All Time. You Have the two biggest Stars on the biggest stage with the biggest prize on the line it cant bigger than that. The Match was Amazing the crowd was hot, the action was entreating. And then WWE does one of the biggest swerves of all time and has stone Cold Steve Austin turn Heel and aligned himself with his most Hated rival Vince McMahon. And that is how the show closes with Stone Cold and Vince standing tall. WrestleMania X-Seven is Perfect from beginning to end"
[10.0] "Historical significance of this show is out of this world. Just few days after putting final nail in the coffin of WCW, WWF prodcues one of the most compelling extravaganza ever seen in the wrestling circuit. Emotional and extremely entertaining father vs son match, where the whole McMahon family is involved, revolutionary ladder match which defines new model of brutality and second chapter between most charismatic individuals in the industry. Maybe the show is not entirely equal in terms of quality of matches, but reasonsed mentioned here makes April 1, 2001 one of the most important and incredible days in pro-wrestling history."
[10.0] "Jericho vs regal. ***1/4. Kane vs raven vs show. ***3/4. Eddie vs test. **. Angle vs beniot. ****. Shane vs Vince, ***1/2. Tlc 2. *****. Taker vs HHH. ****1/4. Austin vs rock. ****1/2. Would have been 5 with a good ending"
[10.0] "Just the pinnacle of my childhood. This Wrestlemania is still my favourite overall. It has everything I wanted as a child, and a lot that I enjoy as an adult. The TLC match, the main event, the hardcore triple threat. Just what a Wrestlemania should be!"
[10.0] "WWF WrestleMania 17 (2001) is still to this very day the best show in all WWF/WWE and wrestling in general. The closing angle of Austin turning heel was very controversial and matches like Jericho Vs Regal, the six man tag match, Eddie Vs Test, Chyna Vs Ivory and the gimmick battle royal are all just fairly fine at best, but the WWF Hardcore Title triple threat and Shane Vs Vince are both really great, Angle Vs Benoit and Triple H Vs Undertaker are both fantastic, both Christian and Edge Vs Dudleys Vs Hardys TLC 2 and Rock Vs Austin are masterpieces, the red hot Houston crowd and commentary from Jim Ross and Paul Heyman are just the best and overall everything is just absolute vibes. Overall WWF WrestleMania 17 (2001) is the best wrestling show of all time and it's just the absolute peak in everyway."
[10.0] "WrestleMania 17 is without a doubt the best PPV WWE has ever put out. It was the pinnacle "sports entertainment" show, with every single top Attitude Era star you could think of being on this card with a little sprinkle of classic wrestlers from the previous era in the battle royal match. I'll even say, having Paul Heyman on commentary instead of Lawler made it even better, and I'm not hating on Lawler at all... but I felt as if Heyman offered more to the show than Lawler ever could. The Regal/Jericho match starts off the show pretty good and it just gets better and better from there, minus the Chyna/Ivory match, of course. But aside from that match and the battle royal, every other match delivered. So many "WrestleMania moments" from this show, from Edge spearing Jeff Hardy from the ladder, to Undertaker hitting the last ride on HHH from way up high, with the controversial ending of Rock/Austin. Such an incredible show. The only negative thing I'll say is that the ending, Vince & Austin teaming together, kind of puts a downer on things... I'm sure everybody has heard the story of Austin thinking he was getting stale and needed to change, and no doubt WM17 would've been the moment to do that, I just personally didn't like it. Aside from that, it's just about as flawless as WWE could ever get to putting on a perfect PPV. Completely encapsulates the Attitude Era and how popular/good WWF was at that time."
[10.0] "A fantastic Wrestlemania. As a kid, this was THE show, a show I'd never forget. And watching it again, over two decades later, it still lived up to the same hype. Just about everything that night was perfect, even small things like the lighting and the stage. It's all so memorable. They also fit ALL this into a 4 hour show, with everything important getting plenty of time and being well-paced. There was no fluff, which has been my biggest problem with WWE PPVs in recent years, where they drag out like 5 matches over 3+ hours."
[10.0] "The greatest WrestleMania of all time with two perfectly made matches, a lot of other fun matches, and like one miss. Overall a fantastic show of pro-wrestling that I enjoyed and is definitely worth to watch."
[10.0] "The best Wrestlemania of all time. Everything was good at the very least, and most was much better than that. TLC II is one of the greatest Tag Team matches of all time, if not THE greatest. Vince vs. Shane is a great example of a story-driven Street Fight. The main event is legend. Even lesser stuff like the Gimmick Battle Royal I thought were fun. Outstanding show. It'll be tough for WWE to ever top it."
[10.0] "When you think about the peak of professional wrestling, especially during the Attitude Era, WrestleMania 17 stands as the embodiment of that spirit. This event, held in 2001, was not just a wrestling show; it was a cultural phenomenon that captured the essence of an era defined by larger-than-life characters, intense rivalries, and unforgettable moments. WrestleMania 17 is often regarded as the greatest wrestling event of all time, and for good reasonits combination of star power, depth, and sheer entertainment value is unmatched. One of the standout matches of the night was the technical masterpiece between Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle. These two elite wrestlers put on a clinic in the ring, showcasing their incredible mat skills and leaving the audience in awe. It was a match that highlighted the importance of in-ring storytelling and pure wrestling ability, and it still holds up as one of the best technical bouts in WrestleMania history. On the other end of the spectrum, the Undertaker versus Triple H was a brutal slugfest that perfectly captured the intensity of their characters. This match wasnt about finesse; it was about two titans clashing in a war of attrition, and it delivered in spades. The TLC match featuring Edge and Christian, the Dudley Boyz, and the Hardy Boyz was another highlight of the night. This chaotic and innovative bout was full of jaw-dropping "OMG" moments that have been etched into the memories of wrestling fans. The high-risk maneuvers, insane stunts, and sheer danger involved made it a match that is still talked about today. It wasnt just a spot-fest; it was a revolutionary match that redefined what tag team wrestling could be. The main event, however, was the personification of what WWE was all about during the Attitude Era. The Rock versus Stone Cold Steve Austin was the ultimate showdown between two of the biggest stars of the time. Their chemistry in the ring was electric, and the match was a rollercoaster of emotions, culminating in one of the most shocking moments in wrestling historyAustin siding with Vince McMahon. While Austins heel run may not have been his finest, the image of him shaking hands with his longtime nemesis remains an iconic moment that fans still discuss to this day. In conclusion, WrestleMania 17 is a true all-time classic, a perfect storm of star power, match quality, and unforgettable moments. The depth of the card, from the undercard to the main event, is something that has rarely been matched in wrestling history. Whether its the technical brilliance of Benoit versus Angle, the sheer brutality of Undertaker versus Triple H, the innovation of the TLC match, or the epic showdown between Rock and Austin, this event has something for everyone. WrestleMania 17 isnt just the best WrestleManiaits one of the greatest wrestling events of all time."
[10.0] "The definitive greatest Wrestlemania, great matches, amazing storytelling and a hot crowd with an all time classic like TLC 2 and the main event which is my favorite match of all time."
[7.0] "(Sorry english is not my firtst language) Chris vs William Regal wasnt enough good opener, Eddie Guerrero vs (Johnny) Test was just a big lose of time for me but other matches was really enjoying, its kinda sad for me that the best one was hardcore im not into hardcore matches"
[8.0] "Match 1: 7/10 Match 2: /10 Match 3: 9/10 Match 4: 5/10 Match 5: 8/10 Match 6: /10 Match 7: 8/10 Match 8: 10/10 Match 9: /10 Match 10: 9/10 Match 11: 10/10 Total: 8.25/10"
"After watching WrestleMania 40, I think this WrestleMania has a bit of competition! However, this is not only one of the greatest WrestleManias of all time due to having two of the greatest matches in the history of the company, but also due to it being a swan song to the Attitude Era. The vibes from this PPV are unparalleled and will never be replicated!"
[10.0] "Simultaniously the high point and the end of the WWE Attitutde Era. What started with Austin's face turn at Mania 13 ends with his partnership with Vince McMahon and heel turn 4 years later at this event. A stacked card, perfectly laid out and not a bad match on the card. Possibly the best PPV of all time."
[10.0] "About as perfect as a show can get. First of all, the Astrodome is the PERFECT place to hold WrestleMania, and the crowd could not eat up the action more. Ross and Heyman deliver amazing commentary throughout in one of the greatest duos to do it for a night. Good opening stretch of matches, with things really heating up after Angle Benoit. Amazing, iconic moments throughout, 2 of the greatest WrestleMania matches of all time, and no dull spots leave this as a near perfect wrestling event."
[6.0] "This show was good but did not live up to the expectations I had on it considering the way people spoke to me about it. I would go as far as to say its overrated as outside 1 or 2 matches its nothing special. The main event and TLC match are the 2 I would say you should not miss"
[8.0] "Best wrestlemania by far, up to this point. The first mania that actually feels like a wrestlemania, from the size of the crowd to the size of the ramp and stage. From top to bottom the matches are at worst solid, and at best amazing, with the standout being clearly TLC II"
[10.0] "Ok, in term of the quality of wrestling match. There are some NJPW/puro/AEW event that better than this show, even if NJPW shows have a lot of 5 stars matches than WMX7 but the feeling, intensity of WMX7 can't be replicate. This is the highest peak of attitude era or maybe the pinnacle of pro wrestling, storyline is perfect, production is great, matches are amazing, star power is second to none and most of them are in their peak of their career (Austin, Rock, HHH, Taker, Kurt, Benoit, Y2J, Gurrero.... are in the same PPV). This is the best wrestling event of all time, I can't rate below 10 and there will never be a show like this again because at that time after Vince buy WCW, WWF/E want to show to the world that they are number 1 and the winner of Monday Night War."
[10.0] "My rating for WrestleMania X-7 is a 10/10. A perfect show that even though It had it's down points, you forget about those points because the show is so good on quality of matches and definitely and we'll deserved the Best WrestleMania of all times, a show that I enjoyed from begining to end"
[6.0] "I won't say this show is overrated, because I enjoyed it, just not as much as other people. First of all I loved the atmosphere here and the whole setup was fantastic with crowd looking incredible on the hard camera. Secondly Paul Heyman on commentary was phenomenal and I thanked God that Lawler was gone at least for this night. When it comes to matches though there were two great ones. Angle vs Benoit was something fresh with both guys presenting eye-catching amateur wrestling with the incredible level of smoothness in this and of course the main event was fantastic, where I mostly loved how Austin was getting more heelish with every passing minute. Other stuff was a mixbag though. I liked Jericho vs Regal, Guerrero vs Test wasn't bad, Hardcore Title match was stupid fun and McMahon drama bout had a great Linda moment. But then the Gimmick Battle Royal was fun until they actually started wrestling, I absolutely hated the TLC Match for the second time and Triple H vs Taker was horrendous with Chioda laying down for the entirety of the match. So overall there was some good stuff and the main event felt huge, but it wasn't without any flaws."
"The swan song of the Attitude Era and an incredible one at that. It captures the manic aspects of it with the early matches being so frantic and stand outs like the Hardcore triple threat and my favourite match ever in TLC II. Also shows off their incredible capacity for iconic moments in most of the later matches, with the closing moments being one of the biggest turns in wrestling history."
[10.0] "The best WrestleMania of all-time and it's not even close. You can argue with me on that but honestly this show is as good as it gets for me. Everything works on this show. TLC 2 rules and is one of the best spot fests in wrestling history. The main event is still possibly the best Mania main event of all time. The Undertaker and Triple H have a stupidly brilliant match. Angle and Benoit have an excellent technical wrestling match as well. There is so much variety on this show, savage brawls, technical gems, family drama between Vince and Shane. It is a perfect Mania and I don't think it will ever be topped."
[10.0] "Watched this show back ahead of WM 40 and I have to say it's even better than I remembered. Rock/Austin from video package to entrances to the drama of that match is a masterpiece and may be the pinnacle of WWE. Triple H/Undertaker was a pretty great semi-main event and arguably the first above average Undertaker WM match. TLC is up there on the short list of all-time classics. Raven and the big boys had one of the most enjoyable short matches in WM history. The other matches at best over-delivered and at worst was just okay. I view the Attitude Era as ending this night since it was the peak of that star power and the payoff to a spectacular 2000 year building new stars/characters/stories."
[6.0] "This ppv is overrated in my opinion. There isn't anything *bad* on the show, but that's about it. The main event is overrated and overbooked, and the show is full of no dq matches and brawls in the audience. It gets old fast. The Kurt Angle match is great of course, and the TLC match is a true classic. I guess there are some great moments in the McMahon match too, but the last two matches really are nothing that special despite the hype. The show is only worth the watch for its historical significance; this was truly the apex of the attitude era, right before the invasion angle where things started to go downhill. I did love the gimmick battle royal however."
[10.0] "There really isn't anything remotely negative I could say about this show that doesn't make it one of the best, if not the best, WrestleMania of all time. The Intercontinental Title match was a fun start, albeit a bit too short. The Tag Team match was fun, though nothing to write home about. The Hardcore Title match was great dumb fun with a lot of good spots. The European Title match was harmless, and was good solely because of Eddie Guerrero. Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit was a really great technical match that was fast paced. The Woman's Title match was a fun squash match. The Street Fight between Vince and Shane McMahon was one of the best examples of soap opera working in a wrestling show, with one of the biggest pops in the entire show. Just a shame I can't really look at the match the same way anymore due to more recent news. The TLC is my pick for the best match, and a great showcase of the tag scene at the time, seriously so fucking good. The Gimmick Battle Royal was really good dumb fun, and honestly rather endearing. Undertaker and Triple H, while admittedly the worst of the three, is still really good fun. And of course the Main Event is a classic, and dare I say it, electrifying. The only thing that deters it for me is the heel turn at the end. Overall, I fucking stellar show, and I'm severely underselling it here. Want a good first WrestleMania to watch? This is the one."
[9.0] "With 2 absolutely incredible matches, a lot of fun battles and some dumb moments, this show does not have any sleeper, is the first consistent wrestlemania."
[10.0] "I would definitely without a shadow of a doubt say that this show is quite possibly the best Pro Wrestling show of all time. Of course not every match was great but the show as a whole was perfect in my opinion. My favorite match was definitely Stone Cold Vs The Rock. Then of course TLC 2. My 3rd favorite was definitely Shane Vs Vince. The pop that Linda got when she stood up from her chair was insane. I beyond recommend this show!"
[10.0] "It's been said thousands of times, but wrestling never reached this level again after this show. And for good reason. This is one of the single strongest shows WWE has ever produced. The worst match on the card (APA and Taz vs RTC) is still serviceable. Jericho vs Regal, the Hardcore triple threat, Angle vs Benoit, Vince vs Shane, TLC II, and Rock vs Austin are all Stone Cold classics, pardon the pun."
[10.0] "This is not only the best Wrestlemania of the Attitude Era, this was also the best Wrestlemania of all time, as it was full of great matches, most notably TLC, the main event, Angle/Benoit, Vince/Shane, and Undertaker/HHH. The hardcore title match was also quite good for what it was. The only real low points were the women's title match and the opener."
"I remember this being my first show I got to see, and then driving back home afterwards being so amped after the show, knowing I was skipping school to get some sleep to also be at the Raw the following night. Having rewatched this show numerous times I can't help but swell with that nostalgia that can cloud your mind from the truth, but the truth honestly is this is one of the most solid and well put together ppvs of all time. Sure there's some gripes here and there, but as a whole the show is an immense testament to where the E was at the time and how they were seriously firing on all cylinders. The turn at the end feels worse I'm hindsight but I can say in the moment nobody cared at all, it was much more a drive home conversation about how the hell they were gonna use this for Raw, which only made me more excited. Hell of a show. 9.5"
"Absolutely amazing show, My Way basically being the soundtrack to this was so 2000s. The Stone Cold vs Rock match was awesome, I also loved the Angle and Benoit match quite a bit. The Tag Team ladder match is so iconic and i didnt even know it was from this event"
[10.0] "I'm sad that WWE is unlikely to be able to hold this kind of show now. Just look at the product quality of modern manias, it's ridiculous! I think this is really one of the two best WrestleManias, along with 19. I would call this mania a monument to times gone by. It should always remain in people's hearts as the greatest WrestleMania of all time. Gone with the deaths of Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit, gone with people like John Cena becoming maineventers (no offense, just kidding)."
[10.0] "Greatest PPV of all time with the only 2 that come close being Summerslam 2002 and Wrestlemania X9. Best main event of all time for me and at no point did the show have any dull moments. The 2 weakest matches were the shortest, being the 6 man tag and the womens match but there was 4 superb matches as well as the main event, with Angle vs Benoit being a technical masterclass, the McMahon street fight being incredible cinema, the TLC match being the best ladder match of all time and Undertaker vs Triple H being an awesome sub main event. I could rewatch this show time after time and not be bored, absolutely incredible."
[6.0] "Has the two highest points of maybe any WrestleMania ever (the main event and TLC 2) but also has quite a bit of filler and matches not worth watching. Definitely go out of your way to watch the two aforementioned matches and maybe also Undertaker vs. Triple H."
[10.0] "As many have pointed out, the variety on this show is wonderful, if very heavy on the brawling and weaponry for the whole back half of the show. Jericho/Regal, Eddie/Test, and Angle/Benoit are solid to great straight-up wrestling matches. The APA, Tazz, and Chyna kill RTC which always works, Chyna's moment in particular being nice. Show/Raven/Kane, Vince/Shane, and Taker/HHH are dumb fun. The Gimmick Battle Royal is just there but features the feel-good returns of Mean Gene and The Brain. TLC II is a wonderful car crash. Austin/Rock is simply a classic. Add in the atmosphere, the good commentary duo of JR and Heyman, an optimal sub-4 hour runtime, and MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAYYY and you get a banger."
[10.0] "The only time where "The Greatest Spectacle in Sports Entertainment" was actually true because this was the peak of WWF. Something for everyone here as you had the workrate bouts of Jericho/Regal and Angle/Benoit, the messy hardcore 3-way, all the McMahon drama with Shane/Vince, spot-fests with TLC 2, total silly but entertaining bullshit with HHH/Taker, throwbacks with the battle royal. Everything else served a nice purpose too like Chyna getting her moment, Eddie working as only he can and the APA doing their thing and such. The main event is all-timer stuff, the two biggest stars of all time having the biggest match possible and even if the finish isn't for everyone, it's hard to deny how awesome everything before it was. The best Wrestlemania of all time for a reason."
[7.0] "Widely recognised as the best Mania ever, and by some people as the best PPV ever, which mostly shows that my tastes don't match the mainstream I guess, at least when it comes to WWE specifically. Too many matches were no-DQ (or effectively so), which in WWE tends to just be a brawl rather than a proper hardcore match, limiting the amount of options outside of the TLC match. Add to that the lack of matches with good quality wrestling and a handful of short but absolutely awful filler matches and you have a card that, for me, simply can't be top rated. It was still an entertaining show, and I can see why many people liked it more than me, but when there have been shows with great matches from top to bottom this doesn't get close to top level for me."
[8.0] "Definitely an amazing wrestlemania that any wrestling fan should watch. I don't think I like it has much as others do, with the main event particularly disappointing me. Regardless it's worth watching because of the TLC match alone"
[10.0] "This is the absolute peak of the Attitude Era. After the Austin heel turn, the ratings started to slide by the following month and while there have been plenty of good shows since Mania 17, the biz hasn't seen these heights of popularity since. It really was the 2nd golden age. This show was pretty huge but did not have such a bloated card as many WrestleMania's since then and most of the matches were given plenty of time. You had 3, 6 star matches, a 7 star match and two 8 star matches. This PPV gets an easy 10 star rating!"
[10.0] "This PPV has the reputation of being the best WWE/F PPV ever and I definitely think it lives up to the hype. I also think it has a little bit of everything that's what makes it so good you want some technical wrestling or good work on the mat you got Benoit/Austin, you want a spot thrilling match you've got the TLC match, and if you want the perfect of an attitude era main event Austin Rock is there for you. There's 2 matches that I'm not really sure made the card but they're short so it doesn't matter, the Chyna/Ivory match was everything it should've been considering the build up so that was perfect from a storytelling perspective. Matches from best to worst: Austin/Rock *****, TLC match *****, Angle/Benoit ****1/4, Shane/Vince ****1/4, Taker/HHH ****, Kane/Raven/Show ***1/2, Jericho/Regal ***1/4, Guerrero/Test ***, Chyna/Ivory **1/2, Tazz & APA/RTC *1/2, Gimmick Battle Royal NR"
[10.0] "This was probably the best WrestleMania of the 2000's along with WrestleMania's XIX & XXIV. This was what WrestleMania is all about. From top to bottom, the card was AWESOME."
[10.0] "This is just a fantastic and near flawless ppv what to say you have a fun hardcore match, you have angle vs benoit, shane vs vince, tlc 2 undertaker vs triple h and austin vs rock a ppv that is near perfect from start to finish it is so fun to watch."
[10.0] "It is undoubtedly the best (or one of the best) WrestleMania in history, you only have to look at its ratings and it is recommended from beginning to end, brutal, it is very good and I'm too young, I was not born yet when it was made."
[10.0] "What can I say that hasn't been said already? The greatest WWE PPV of all time. The TLC match, Taker vs Trips, Shane vs Vince, and of course the greatest all round main event of all-time, Stone-Cold vs The Rock."
[10.0] "The greatest show of all time. This is not up for discussion. Though an interesting point not often discussed could be the role if the soundtrack to the event."
[10.0] "I'll start by saying that this is the GREATEST wrestling show of all time. It's the only wrestling show of all time that deserves an actual 10/10 and I don't think we'll see something coming close very soon. 10 doesn't even do it justice. The characters are over, the feuds are the best they can be and the execution is sublime. Oh and Limp Bizkit rocks. The opener is a masterclass in in-ring psychology and has a fantastic pace that keeps you engaged. Its only drawback is that it's too short. I could watch them for 15 minutes or more. The 6-Man Tag is the hard hitting train wreck you'd expect and doesn't dissapoint. It lasts exactly as much as it should and delivers its purpose. Then, we have the best hardcore match ever put on air. Fantastic and innovative spots and locations, great pace that doesn't get you tired. Shame that the golf car spot didn't go as planned. Test v Eddie is probably one of the weakest matches on the card, but that doesn't say much as it knocks it out of the park. Test has a great performance and is helped by Eddie to one of his greatest matches. Angle v Benoit should be in a 'matches you must see before you die' list. Apart from the classic action, there's the great story of Angle abandoning mat wrestling when he gets out-wrestled and reverting back to typical WWF style wrestling. The Womens' Title match pays off a months long angle. The result is exactly what you'd expect but the predictability is a strength and not a weakeness in this case. Ivory playes her role brilliantly and Chyna is an absolute star. The McMahon match is the greatest non-wrestler match / storyline match ever and one of the best and most satisfying pay offs you'll ever see. Vince and Shane give their everything and it shows. Linda standing up is one of the most historic moments. It gives you goosebumps and it's wrestling soap opera at its finest. The TLC goes a million miles an hour right from the start and never stops, giving you an unforgettable experience with classic, career defining spots. A match that is still talked 20 years later. Gimmick Battle Royal is a nice breather, because this show really needs one. Pop for the entrances and then relax for a couple of minutes, having a good time with Heenan and Mean Gene on commentary. Undertaker has his best Mania bout to that date (and the best until 25 in my view). I'd say itheir Mania 28 match is a bit better, but this one is a banger as well. Then the main event. (One can say) The two best overall performers of all time at their peak, in the most hyped rivalry of all time, wrestling in the biggest PPV of all time. And boy do they deliver. They grab you from the instant the bell rings. It follows Hogan v Andre and sets the pattern for what a main event should be. The ending doesn't detract in my opinion and serves as a great pay off to the angle leading up to the match. On the sidenotes, JR and Heyman bring you the greatest announce team of all time. Especially Heyman is a brilliant play by pl"
[9.0] "A very good show that has managed to become obscenely overrated. Too many matches on the show are just 'okay' for it to be the greatest of all time or even close to it."
[10.0] "WWE's Magnum Opus. After WWF WrestleMania X-Seven, WWE just didn't feel the same. WrestleMania X-Seven is not only GOAT WrestleMania that WWE has ever produced, it's the Greatest PPV WWE has ever done. But it just might be, actually you know what' It is the Greatest Wrestling PPV ever produced. You can come at me with your Dominion 2017, your Wrestle Kingdom 9 and hey also your All Out 2021 for you AEW fans, but this was when wrestling was at it's most popular and EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE CARED ABOUT IT! After WrestleMania 2000, the company went on what I like to call a PPV Hot Streak delivering banger after banger. Then going into 2001, WWE was at it's creative peak and was making so much money. We then got Royal Rumble 2001, which I feel is the best Rumble PPV they have ever done. No Way Out 2001 is certainly the best No Way Out PPV ever made. And finally in April, The Grand Daddy of Them All, WrestleMania X-Seven, a true spectacle. Everything during this moment was in the the right place at the right time for WWE to make something this good. Everyone and their grandmother has talked about this to the point that there isn't anything else to say, but I'm going to give you the quick recap. Regal vs. Jericho, hot opener with the fan favourite winning. The APA & Tazz demolish Right to Censor in the series wrap on RTC, great stuff. The Hardcore Triple Threat was complete madness and fun, but it makes for one of, if not the best Hardcore Match in the history of the WWF's Hardcore Championship. Kane throwing Raven through a window is the biggest highlight of WWF's Hardcore Division. Eddie vs. Test is what the worst match of the night, but also strangely really good. Angle vs. Benoit is two of the best technical wrestlers in the world crafting a technical masterclass in just under 15 minutes. Chyna pays off a months long story by beating Ivory in a feel good squash to finally win the WWF Women's Championship and is the last great memory we have of her. Shane vs. Vince is Soap Opera at it's finest, with Linda getting one of the biggest pops of the night. TLC 2 was... you know' The Gimmick Battle Royale was fun, and was the perfect crowd cooler whilst being nostalgically charming. Triple H vs. Undertaker is the Best Streak Match during Undertaker's American Bad Ass run. Then the main event, with the best video package WWE ever did, as well as with the two biggest draws in Wrestling History. Stone Cold vs. The Rock battle it out for 28 glorious minutes, and becomes the Greatest Main Event in Wrestling History with one of the BEST Endings to a WWF Championship Match. Sure I basically copied what Adam Blampied said about this WrestleMania, but like him I feel the same way about it so why not borrow from the best. On April 1st, 2001, Houston had a problem because they hosted an event that ended the Attitude Era in the best possible way."
[10.0] "Hell yes to this show. I know it's a cliche to give this show 10/10 but this show really is up there with the classics. Kurt vs Benoit is a technical masterclass, Austin vs Rock takes the Attitude Era WWF main event style to the max and the TLC crew put in the work for another insane ladder match which would become known as TLC 2. Undertaker vs HHH and Shane vs Vince fill out the card while holding their own among the bangers, and the rest of the matches hold the distinction of not sinking the ship. I wouldn't recommend this show to new fans purely because its long as hell, but for actual fans this show is essential viewing pal."
[9.0] "Excellent show. Good quality action and great storytelling. Solid to great matches and the Tag Team match was one of the best non traditional wrestling match I ever watched. Main event was great with a twist at the end and a new Champion crowned. Overall, it was consistently good and is One of the best shows in WWE history. MOTN : Tag Team TLC. 9/10"
[10.0] "Two decades had passed, and this is still the very best PPV to ever been put out. There's a total of four **** matches, and two of them were MOTYCs. And that's not even the most important part of it. This marked the end of the Attitude Era and the Austin/McMahon rivalry that was hugely significant to the business. Tons of influences that made it one of the most talked about spectacle in wrestling today. A true must-watch for anyone that dare to called themselves a wrestling fan."
[7.0] "I mean, it's good and very nostalgic. The TLC doesn't hold up at all and the main event gets obsessed with the false finishes, though it's still very good. The spectacle and 2001-ness is great, but the in-ring stuff, while good, doesn't come close to deserving its legendary status."
[10.0] "The culminating point of the Attitude Era. Sure, there were some filler matches but Angle vs Benoit was great, Shane vs Vince is entertaining, TLC 2 is one of the greatest matches of all time, Undertaker vs Triple H is solid and Austin vs Rock speaks for itself."
[10.0] "Einer der besten WrestleManias of all Time! Teilt sich mit WM XIX den 1. Platz. Ganz klare 10 Punkte!"
[3.0] "Insanely overrated show, Benoit Angle was pretty good and the TLC tag was fantastic, everything else was really bad, the main event was awful with one of the worst moments in wrestling history when Steve Austin unites with Vince, really bad show"
I think so!"
[10.0] "The apex of my childhood adoration of wrestling! My family wouldn't pay the money to let me see it on ppv live as a kid, but years later with YouTube and then the WWE Network, I can honestly say, beginning to end, this is the best Wrestlemania to date. The set, crowd, build, hype, match quality, AUSTIN VS ROCK! Simply amazing!"
[9.0] "Jericho/Regal was a very good opener with a nice story of Regal working over Jericho' shoulder (***1/4), then whe got some solid stuff in trio sprint (***) and harcore triple threat (***), Eddie/Test was pretty fine, would be even better if the latter sold the leg (**3/4), Angle/Benoit put on a fun back & forth action with a good story (***1/2), Chyna/Ivory was meh but short at least; Ivory strikes was some of the worst I've seen (*1/2), Vince-Shane was helluva clusterfuck but i liked it quite a bit (***), TLC II was a tremendous stunt show and a legit classic (****1/2), Gimmik Battle Royal happened (Gimmik Battle Royal), HHH beatdown by Taker didn't entertain me at all (*1/2), and the main event between Austin/The Rock ruled big time, from Limp Bizkit promo to the match itself; Austin's heel turn, despite being an awful decision, was executed very well (****). Summing up, it was one of the very best Manias of all time & i think It was probably the peak of the Attitude Era."
[8.0] "Good PPV and maybe the best Wrestlemania. A combination of the characteristics of the attitude era, the usual WM celebration(why WM in my eyes is generally not that great) and a little bit of the more pro-wrestling oriented content of the near future. The TLC match is one of my favourite matches. Great main-event, though the twist should've lead to a quicker match decision. From Y2J vs Regal to Taker vs Hunter a lot of fine matches didn't reach the full potential. Especially the McMahon stuff doesn't reach me, but it reached the target audience back then and that's what matters."
[10.0] "IC Title **1/4, Six Man Tag *1/4, Hardcore Title **1/2, European Title ***, Angle/Benoit ****1/2, Women's Title 3/4*, Shane/Vince ***1/2, TLC *****, Battle Royal *, Taker/HHH ****1/4, Main Event ****3/4. Die beste Wrestlemania aller Zeiten. Der Mix aus gutem Wrestling, super Stimmung und Hammer Videopaketen. Für jeden was dabei, egal ob Technikfan (Angle/Benoit), Spotmonkey (TLC) oder Storytelling (Main Event). Einfach eine must see Wrestling Show"
[9.0] "Incredible show, but not perfect by any means, especially in the first third. Jericho vs Regal had good moments, but never really clicked: ***+. Tazz & APA vs RTC was pretty enjoyable while it lasted and didn't overstay its welcome: **1/2. Raven vs Kane vs Big Show was a pretty fun hardcore match, though seemed to be more of a showcase of the gimmick than a cohesive match: ***. Test vs Guerrero was alright, and had some pretty solid in ring work that was dampened by some interferences: **3/4. Benoit vs Angle was a great pure wrestling match, and had some incredible in ring work that got minorly held back by cheating and ref bumps: ****-. Ivory vs Chyna wasn't long enough to justify a rating, but was pretty bad during the short time it lasted: NR. Vince vs Shane was pretty terrible, featuring atrocious in ring work that was ever so slightly padded by a minorly less terrible story based on outlandish shock value: *-. TLC II was a great spotfest, with some of the most memorable and jaw-dropping spots in TLC/ladder match history, but didn't reach the level of a classic for me due to the pointless run ins from Spike, Rhyno, and Lita and the relatively short time slot for such an overbooked match: ****. The gimmick battle royal was pretty boring and uninspired while it lasted, but didn't last too long: *1/4. Undertaker vs HHH was fun, but mostly built around one big bump and didn't really pick up besides that until the end: ***1/2+. Rock vs Austin was incredible and an instant classic that I could go on about for ages, near perfect in terms of in ring work and story telling, but the McMahon interference held it back towards the end and barely prevented it from reaching that five star level: ****3/4-. Overall this was an incredible show, but the beginning was honestly kinda boring and forgettable and really prevents this from being the greatest show of all time as some say. This show has classic matches and an incredible atmosphere, but some real duds alongside that."
[9.0] "Recently watched this with my wife who is a newer, casual fan. She was sucked in for most of it, and noted how into everything the crowd was. What got me smiling uncontrollably was the crowd absolutely losing it when Linda McMahon stood up from that chair. Looking back at the card, they weren't ALL classics, but everything served a purpose. The Gimmick Battle Royal was one of her favorite parts of the night, and I can't disagree, mainly due to Bobby Heenan's hilarious commentary. Jericho-Regal (**) - 6-man (*) - Hardcore title (**) - Eddie-Test (*3/4) - Angle-Benoit (****) - Chyna-Ivory (1/4*) - Shane-Vince (***3/4) - TLC (****1/2) - Battle Royal (*1/4) - Taker-HHH (***1/2) - Rock-Austin (****1/4) .... And as most probably agree, the main event may have been the greatest WWE match of all time if it had the right finish."
[10.0] "The perfect wrestling event. X-7 will never be beaten- the emotion, the level of talent on the roster and the fact that it celebrates WWF/WWE triumph over WCW and the Monday night wars. Has there been a better WM main event that Austin v Rock? Taker and HHH tore each other to bits. The TLC was scary insane. Angle and Benoit wrestled a technical showcase. The McMahon feud was fun and had some extreme high points. Plus every match had a contribution in some way. This is the event to show your friends if you want to convert them to wrestling."
"Just rewatched this, it certainly was a period in WWF/E history when almost everything they tried went well. However, what was immediately noticeable was just how jacked up the wrestlers were. The Big Show and Kane had the frames of bodybuilders. Kurt Angle's unnaturally deep voice giving hints as to the reasons. Saturn and Guerrero had muscle definition worthy of competition. The risks taken, bumps and pace of the matches were phenomenal as was the workload placed on the superstars. Vince needs to look back with shame at the lives he has ruined. Yes we were entertained, but at what cost?"
[7.0] "Pros: - TLC match for World Tag Team Championship (match of the night); - The Undertaker vs Triple H; - Kurt Angle vs Chris Benoit; - Shane McMahon vs Vince McMahon; - triple threat match for Hardcore Championship; - Eddie Guerrero vs Test; Cons: - match between Chris Jericho and William Regal should had lasted much longer; - Tazz and Acolytes Protection Agency vs Right To Censor; - Chyna vs Ivory; - gimmick battle royal; - Steve Austin's heel turn and shaking hands with Vince McMahon; In conclusion, WrestleMania X-Seven was a good show which had several amazing matches and could been much better if it wasn't for unnecessary anticlimatic Steve Austin's heel turn."
[10.0] "Regal vs Jericho ** 3/4, RTC vs Tazz and APA **, Kane vs Raven vs Show ** 1/2, Eddie vs Test ** 1/4, Angle vs Benoit *** 3/4, Chyna vs Ivory DUD, Shane vs Vince *** 1/2, E&C vs Dudleys vs Hardys **** 3/4, Gimmick Battle Royal DUD, Taker vs Triple H **** und der Main Event **** 1/2.
[9.0] "This is one of the first WrestleManias since WM 8 that actually looks like a WrestleMania. The glitz and glamour of it all. The crowd size as well as the noise they make. Everything. Now the quality of the show is fantastic. Great undercard. Some true classics on the card such as the TLC match and Austin/Rock. But you do have some bad matches like Taker/HHH and Ivory vs Chyna. And it didn't flow by for me. Some portions of the show dragged and you could feel the time. BEST TO WORST: Steve Austin vs. The Rock - [****3/4]. TLC II - [****1/2]. Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle - [***1/2]. Chris Jericho vs. William Regal - [***1/4]. Raven vs. Kane vs. The Big Show - [***1/4]. Test vs. Eddie Guerrero - [***]. Shane McMahon vs. Vince McMahon - [**1/2]. Tazz & The APA vs. The Right To Censor - [**]. The Undertaker vs. Triple H - [*1/2]. Gimmick Battle Royal - [*]. Ivory vs. Chyna - [DUD]."
[9.0] "Many Wrestling journalists (Dave Meltzer at first) consider this the Biggest Mania ever. I disagree with them personally. I am going to WrestleMania 35 next year so I am (with my friend) rewatching every Mania in the opposite chronology (we started from WrestleMania 34). I just saw it , great great event but not the best ever, I think that many internet genius starts to consider a ? web idea? as the gospel and they give it as a matter of fact. I personally am not a big fan of Attitude Era, ok it was one of the most productive and prolific periods in WWE history but it was also a period in which competition and WRESTLING have been put in background , sacrificed for entertainment storylines that sometimes degenerated in ? soap opera? kind of things. WrestleMania X-Seven is the Pinnacle of Attitude Era but in fact only two matches were really historic. The Rock vs Austin is one of the best main event of WM ever, no great match from a technical point of view but it was electric , the crowd was mad and the storytelling was unbelievable with the end of Austin shaking hands with Mcmhaon. TLC 2 was the greatest spot Fest ever , unimaginable, revolutionary. This two matches in my head are the explanation (togheter with Mankindvs Taker) of the Attitude Era. But besides this two matches (one of which had not a net finish) the other matches were storylines extentions. Shane vs Vince wasn? t a real match. Angle vs Benoit was really great but had a bad finish, it could have been the best match of the night but the finish sequences was very questionable. Taker vs Triple H good match with a personal and brutal feud between two icons on their prime, but it was nothing compared to their future encounters at the Grandaddy . I hated their ref bump and the chokeslam in the crowd (evidence that there were mats) nothing special. One of the problems of Attitude Era was wanting to do exaggerated things that most of times appeared as bullshit. in my opinion the most overrated period ever"
[10.0] "Opener *** - 3v3 NR too short to be bad - 3way ***1/4 - Eddie-Test *** - Angle-B ***3/4 - Women NR just like 3v3, but it was a good little WM moment - Shane-Vince ***1/2 Peak sport entertainment - Ladder ****1/2 I don't know how no one got injured, luck I think - BattleRoyal NR How can anyone rate this match? Not the greatest night of wrestling ever of course, but the greatest night of sport entertainment ever for sure."

[10.0] "1. Match Chris Jericho vs William Regal (***1/4) 2. Match Tazz & The APA vs The Right to Censor (**3/4) 3. Match Kane vs Raven vs The Big Show (***1/2) 4. Match Test vs Eddie Guerrero (***1/2) 5. Match Kurt Angle vs Chris Benoit (****1/2) 6. Match Ivory vs Chyna (n/a) 7. Match Shane McMahon vs Vince McMahon (***3/4) 8. Match Christian & Edge vs The Hardy Boyz vs The Dudley Boyz (****3/4) 9. Match Gimmick Battle Royal (n/a) 10. Match Triple H vs The Undertaker (***1/2) 11. Match The Rock vs Steve Austin (*****) Fazit: Wow.
[9.0] "Wrestlemania X-7 is not a perfect PPV by any means, but it is close to a point that no other WM will ever top the magic, the sheer buzz and the cultural impact that WM X-7 had. I can still hear Limp Bizkit 'My Way' after all these years, and how the song builds up perfectly with the promo package. It defined an Era where Sport Entertainment is a sight to behold; a spectacle for the masses."
[7.0] "This was a rather mixed show, but the high-points were definitely high enough to make the event good overall. Tazz & APA vs The Right to Censor, Ivory vs Chyna, and The Gimmick Battle Royale were all duds. All 3 matches were under 4 minutes and just felt like total card-fillers. It wouldn't feel right to rate them as actual matches. They should just be avoided. Jericho and Regal had a nice solid opener to warm things up. **3/4. Raven vs Big Show vs Kane was a ridiculous hardcore match that moved between being funny and plain stupid. **1/4. Test vs Eddie was very basic and had nothing of value. **. Benoit vs Angle told a good story following Angle's feelings of inadequacy and Benoit's aggression. ***1/4-***1/2. Shane vs Vince was ridiculous but also very entertaining. The Linda storyline was absurd, Vince and Shane's wresting-ability was silly, and Trish and Stephanie's involvement was quite funny. Some cool spots too. ***. The 3-way TLC match was genuinely a great match with lots of crazy high-risk spots. ****. Undertaker vs Triple H was a good brawl with some nice spots and impressive work from Triple H. Undertaker's "American Badass" character was odd, but he was solid overall. ***1/2. The Rock vs Austin was good, but not as great as I see it claimed to be. I liked the finisher spot-fest nature of it but felt that Vince's involvement was poorly executed and the match generally didn't sufficiently capture the hatred between the two as was seen in their promos. ***1/2"
[10.0] "This is how great a Wrestling even can be, two five star matches (Stone Cold vs The Rock, the triple threat TLC match), two four star matches (Triple H vs Undertaker, Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle) and many amazing things in an event to remember, at the peak of the Attitude era. Also, the hardcore match is funny, Guerrero vs Test is enjoyable and William Regal vs Chris Jericho is a seven minutes good match. A must watch for every fan."
[10.0] "Just one of the greatest PPVs of all time. TLC 2 and the Main Event are absolute classics. 5 star matches in my opinion. And good to great matches throughout the rest of the PPV. Angle/ Benoit is great, Taker/ HHH is really good and I can't watch the McMahon Street Fight and not be entertained, so thumbs up for that as well. Even with some duds like the Gimmick Battle Royal and others, this is a 10/10 event based on the 5 or 6 good to truly amazing matches."
[7.0] "A real two match card. Whilst those two matches are execellent, matches like the gimmick battle royal and the woman's championship match drag the show down."
[10.0] "The greatest Wrestlemania of all time, THE greatest WWF/E event of all time, and one of the greatest wrestling events of all time, full stop. Jericho/Regal was fine for the time they had (**3/4), Tazz and APA Vs RTC was filler but was over quickly, so whatever (*1/2), hardcore triple threat was fun enough (***), Eddie Vs Test was again fine for the time they had (**1/2), Angle and Benoit created a great match despite practically no build-up, a testament to how talented these two were (****), Chyna/Ivory was over quickly, as it should have been (*1/2), Shane Vs Vince was highly entertaining and told its story brilliantly (***1/2), TLC II was one of the greatest matches in WWE history (****3/4), Gimmick battle royal was..... there, I guess it was fun when it comes to nostalgia (*), Undertaker/HHH was entertaining by 2001 Taker standards (***1/2) and Austin/Rock was probably the greatest match both men ever had, so good even Austin's ridiculous heel turn couldn't ruin it, one of the greatest matches of all time (*****)."
[10.0] "Every match was great. I loved this show. Some very solid matches, some very good matches, and some very great matches. The through-back battle royal was great especially seeing so many great legends. Of course you cant forget the great Triple threat tag team TLC match. And of course one of the if not THE best match of all time greatest match, Steve Austin Vs The Rock. 10/10, 5 star show."
[10.0] "This is just not the best Wrestle Mania of all time and this is not just the best WWF/E event of all time, this is the best wrestling event of all time. Period."
[9.0] "A really excellent event, even most of the lesser matches have positive points about them. I'd give it a full 10 except for the Austin turn, the crowd clearly wanted Austin to stay face and even popped face for him when he won, despite aligning with McMahon. That booking blunder aside, it's a hell of a good show."
[10.0] "I've seen this PPV so many times and it still has to go down as one of the best if not the best WWE PPV of all time. Amazing commentary by two of my favourites, great crowd, the only 3 bad matches were very short less than 4mins and 3 mins, it then ranges from decent(regal/Jericho **1/2 and Test/Eddie **1/4) to amazing (Angle/Benoit, TLC II, Taker/HHH and Austin/Rock). A must watch show!"
(o. W. ) 10. Taker gegen HHH siehe Guide. 11. ME siehe Guide.
[7.0] "Quite over-rated, I'd say. Of course there were those classic matches we all know of, but there were also matches ranging from unremarkable (Hardcore match, European title match) to bad (Tag match, Chyna vs Ivory). Jericho vs Regal and Benoit vs Angle were also not as good as it could've been. Looking at the card it sounds a lot more promising than it actually is. Also, no event with a Limp Bizkit song as its theme can ever get a 10. Ever."
[7.0] "I feel that this is an event whose reputation thrives due to some really big matches and moments with people blocking out the rest of the event. Yes Rock/Stone Cold, Angle/Benoit, HHH/Taker and TLC2 were epic matches and the moments like Austin's heel turn and Linda McMahon rising from her chair were great but this was far from a perfect PPV. There were a few matches that were not really worthy of a big stage like Wrestlemania and detracted from what was potentially a stellar PPV."
[9.0] "Often considered the symbolic end of the Attitude Era. There's certainly a lot to like on this card: the main event between Austin and Rock is a class, no doubt (marred in my opinion only by Austin's heel turn at the end; something Austin himself regrets). On the undercard, Undertaker vs. HHH, the TLC match with Edge & Christian, the Dudleyz and the Hardyz, and Angle vs. He Who Shall Not Be Named were all great matches as well. I enjoyed the three-way Hardcore Title match with Raven, Kane and Big Show as well, and Vince vs. Shane was memorable. Guerrero vs. Test for the Euro Title was probably as good as it could have been. On the other hand, some things seemed rushed - Jericho and Regal could certainly have benefited with more time; and that match was still longer than the Tazz/APA vs. Right to Censor and Chyna vs. Ivory matches combined. The gimmick battle royal was harmless fun and a nice nostalgia trip, but way too short, and I can't imagine why Earthquake was eliminated that quickly. While I'm not sure I'd call it THE best 'Mania of all time, or my personal favorite, it is certainly up there as one of the best."
Der Street Fight ist mal wieder Attitude Era as it best. Overbooking bis der Arzt kommt. Wer's mag.
[10.0] "Greatest american wrestling PPV of all time. From top to bottom this card is unbelievably action packed even the stuff that is below average was fine for what it was (minus a terrible women's match). 3 absolutely great to awesome matches on this show and the infamous heel turn of Steve Austin. This PPV was fucking incredible I loved it. Two Thumbs Up"
[9.0] "Geile Show.
Alles zusammen eine 10 Punkte Show und die beste Wrestlemania OF ALL TIME."
[10.0] "Not a completely perfect show, as some would have you believe - it's slow to start, and doesn't really get rolling until a third of the way in - but still one of the greatest PPVs ever made, featuring in turn one of the best technical displays (Benoit/Angle), spotfests (TLC II) and perhaps the single greatest Mania main event (Austin/Rock) the WWF ever aired. Several consider this the end of an era of quality programming for WWE, but that doesn't add up when you consider Mania XIX, a nearly equally great show, happened two years later. Required viewing."
Fact it is."
[10.0] "The event that got me into wrestling and the end of the attitude era. Rightfully regarded as the greatest WrestleMania of all time. One hell of a card from the final WrestleMania before WWE became a monopoly."
Dann TABLES, LADDERS, CHAIRS: was soll man sagen, TLC halt! Alles in allem eine nahezu perfekte Show."
That was DAMN good.
McMahon vs McMahon mein persönliches Match of the Night.
[10.0] "Was soll man sagen, 3 ****+ Matches, viele weitere gute Matches.
Sonst einfach die beste WWE Show aller Zeiten!"
