[4.0] "The bad stuff super-passed the good stuff so that's why it's a 4 though it had some good matches like the opening and the tag match (which's the match of the show and the year at this point of the year, not really good but not the worst."

[5.0] "This show is pure final year WCW madness. Two matches deliver, the rest is Russo's fever dream with run ins, overbooking, and rules that feel like they're being made up on the fly. It's a mess but an oddly fun one. I never got bored, probably because something insane was always happening. It's like watching a car crash in slow motion. The opener being the best match tells you everything. It's bad wrestling but in that chaotic "what the hell am I watching" way that can be strangely entertaining."

[3.0] "Yeah, I mean, it's a late stage WCW PPV, of course it's not very good. There's some decent stuff here, admittedly - the two cruiserweight matches are pretty great, and a delightful continuation of the lucha-inspired early WCW days into the new more indie-fied and more heavily Japanese Junior influenced days of the TNA X Division and ROH, which is pretty fun to see as a stylistic development. Most of the rest was just mediocre to bad, though, with some clumsy hardcore brawls, lots of overbooked nonsense, and the infamous Sid leg break that just puts an ugly pall over everything that comes before it. I didn't realize how badly handled it was, too, having never actually watched the match, but seeing Sid just lie there in undeniable agony is kind of ghastly. They really needed to rework that finish a lot more than they did, "Shock return" of Road Warrior Animal or not (which was obviously super not worth it, anyway.)"

[3.0] "I remember liking this PPV and thought "why this low rating? Kinda harsh" but then I rewatched and understood. Only the first 3 matches are good. The rest is a downard spiral that ends with the horrible and sad main event. My rating is incredibly lowered because of how badly mistreated was that main event. The first matches don't matter that much to me and the main event is THE match you have to get right and if you screw that up, my rating will always reflect that"

[3.0] "As 2001 began, WCW was clearly on life support, but in the post-Russo period was at least trying some new things to try to get some momentum, although the end result of this was a decided mixed bag. At the only Sin event, we got a couple of really good Cruiserweight matches in the Chavo-Helms opener and the Jung Dragons-Karagias/Knoble tag match; a concerted effort to legitimize O'Haire and Palumbo with Nash and DDP putting them over for the Tag Title; a surprisingly decent brawl between Reno and Vito; and a Douglas-Morrus first-blood match that may not have really worked overall, but had some good heel work from Douglas, and a match between Totally Buff and an injured Goldberg/Sarge that served its purpose in writing off Goldberg (of course, the company wouldn't last long enough after this for him to be written back in). However, the show also had some major low points, including a Penalty Box match that could've been decent but was completely ruined by the terrible stipulation; a Hardcore Title match that had a few fun spots, but had Crowbar often feeling like the odd man out; and most of all a main event that featured not only Sid's gruesome broken leg, but the unforgivable decision to keep the match going afterward until the lame "mystery man" angle could be resolved. The two PPVs WCW had left in the tank to follow this would at least improve somewhat on Sin before the company ran out of time."

[3.0] "Gone are the days of elaborate PPV sets, now pretty much the only thing to tell the shows apart are the ring aprons & banners hanging from the ceiling. [1st match] Hot opener but a little below par to usual Cruiserweight matches. *** [2nd match] Mostly brawling but fun. Tony & Scott's repeated retellings of the storyline made it seem really important for such a low card match. **3/4 [3rd match] Loved this match. Shame that the awesome finishing sequence ended in a goddamn Inside Cradle though. ***1/4 [4th match] Nothing special but the fans were really into it. ** [5th match] This was basically a Handicap match with time limits. Utterly confusing, even for the commentary team (so it seemed). Just when action started getting good it got quickly broken up. A bad idea for a gimmick match...#1 -* [6th match] Typical WWE-style Hardcore match; except it had a crazy dive by Crowbar... which the camera missed. 1/2* [7th match] Drama & Storytelling good, match itself meh. DDP was a great babyface in peril, but the finish was a mess. **1/2 [8th match] Bad idea for a gimmick match #2, plus it was boring. * [9th match] Another Drama-better-than-match Tag, apart from the "Shoot" style incident with the "Fan". * [Main] Unpleasant viewing, Sid picked a bad time to break a leg (not that there's a good time mind you) this just made the mystery man's suprise & presence null, besides this was just another lame handicap match before and would have continued to be presumably' DUD. I don't suggest sitting through this long show, but watch the first 3 matches at least. Everything else is missable, especially the gimmick matches."

[4.0] "Chavo/Helms is a pretty great opener, a well-rounded and structured match that tells a good story. Vito/Reno is enjoyable for what it is, even if the storyline is basically nonsense. The cruiserweight tag match is the best of the night, nonstop fun from some really talented guys. Sanders/Cat is better than their past matches but not really any good. The six man tag could have been great but it? s severely handicapped by Jim Duggan as referee, screwing up anything good that happens with the poorly used penalty box gimmick. The hardcore match might have been good but they go in very heavy with the unprotected chair shots to the head, which is uncomfortable to watch now. Tag match is decent, but Bagwell interferes in a bizarrely unnecessary disguise to sour things a bit. Douglas/Rection is aggressively boring with an incredibly stupid ending. The Goldberg tag is honestly sort of good, everyone seems to be trying really hard (even Bagwell) and they tell an actual story. Goldberg losing is not ideal but he needed to leave to have shoulder surgery. Having him be attacked by a ? fan? was pretty weak though. The main event is awful and stupid even before it goes to hell, with Steiner and Jarrett working it as a straight up handicap. Steiner stands by as Jarrett goes for the win, so I guess he didn? t care about losing the title? The twist is of course the ? mystery man? , who ends up doing almost nothing and is Road Warrior Animal, who gets a very mild pop and lots of confused looks from the crowd. The worst thing about this, of course, is that Sid attempted a big boot off the ropes and infamously shattered his leg in a terrible and disgusting way. Horribly, the match does not actually end there and they continue to (very lightly) kick Sid and keep the match continuing until the incredibly lame reveal is finished. Everyone should be ashamed that the match was not stopped instantly, and I hope Sid sued WCW for a billion dollars for not getting him immediate medical attention."
