[7.0] "A solid episode. The main event was the best match as it should be, but the rest were decent as well"

[7.0] "Lucha Underground deliver another pretty solid event here. Angelico, Ivelisse, and Son of Havoc are back on the same page, getting the win over Chavo Guerrero, Jr. and The Crew here in a decent match. Cage then beat Joey Ryan in a short match that did nothing to make me want to see more of Joey. Finally, Prince Puma got the win over Pentagon, Jr. in the match of the night."

[7.0] "This show starts with Ivelisse wanting a rematch for the Trios titles. Instead they get to fight the trio of Chavo and The Crew in the opener as a tune up match. A by the numbers six man, with Chavo cutting off the faces so they can hot tag in. Pretty fun and quick though (6/10) Post match Texano returns so Chavo flees. Mundo gets a cool videopackage to show off his parkour, some charisma and continue the feud with Cage. A Backstage segment for the cop plot later and we go to Joey Ryan's debut match. Its a bit awkward to watch his character in hindsight, but well he gets destroyed by Cage in this one (4/10) Mundo comes out to do a cheap ambush but Cage turns it around and stands tall again. Later its announced they are main eventing next week, that should be good. A training session vignette between Mysterio and Dragon Azteca that explains a lot of the backstory both of Cueto and the more mythological side of the story. A highlight of this episode. Main event time with Puma and Pentagon. Fun tv main event with the usual high flying you'd expect. Match ends with Puma barely getting the shoulders up on a double pin which makes sense. Pentagon doesn't have to lose decisively and it also avoids being a non finish. Vampiro on commentary helps out too pointing out Pentagon was distracted by showboating and listening to chants. Episode ends with Sexy Star running scared and a cliffhanger on who her attacker is. No outstanding matches here yet but in terms of storytelling this was a stronger show than the previous ones of the season"

[6.0] "Decent episode, but the lack of Dario Cueto has proved to be a misstep to start off the season. Sexy Star shows up at the end and it leaves on a cliffhanger, as Star points out someone to The Mack. Puma/Penta was fun, as was the trios match. Joey Ryan was kind of, eh, whatever."

[5.0] "Mediocre show. As always the production was fantastic, specially on the video packages involving Johny Mundo or Rey Mysterio and Drago Azteca Jr. That last one was cool, I'm intrigued with that storyline. But from a match standpoint it was a weak show. The opener was my favorite match, but it was a match to build the Unlikely Alliance for their future match with the Disciples of Death. The three babyfaces look good. Cage vs Joey Ryan was bad, Joey Ryan should have been beaten faster, he doesn't have a chance against one of the contenders for the title. I liked the post match brawl between Cage and Mundo. The main event was a decent encounter, but that finish with a screwy double pin hurts the outcome of the match. Yeah, some cool moves and that, but neither of the wrestlers looks stronger with it. I liked the post match segment with Puma refusing to break Pentagon's arm. Vampiro's facials were great."

[7.0] "Another solid episode featuring three good matches . For a studio show and a made for TV show the focus seems to be on the wrestling . Like it should be . It's also not terrible to have to look at the hot Latinas and Hispanas . Worth watching : everything . My top match was Pentagon Jr. vs . Puma ."

[9.0] "Another great episode, the opening match and especially the main event were great. I loved the segment with Mysterio and Dragon Azteca, explaining some of the backstory of Dario Cueto in a cool way. Cage vs. Ryan was solid too, and the idea of Joey Ryan as an undercover cop (and possibly a corrupt one? ) is a great twist to the underlying plot arcs. I do so love Lucha Underground!"

[7.0] "I'm still enjoying the stories, this week has short matches, with only the main event being more than acceptable. It's another build-up episode to increase the heat at the various feuds. Pentagon Jr and Prince Puma had many great separate matches but this one on one was not epic. Interesting to see Joey Ryan in action, I hope he'll get a longer match soon."

[7.0] "Angelico, Ivelisse and Havoc vs Chavo and Crew ***3/4, Ryan vs Cage **1/, Puma vs Pentagon ***3/4, the show Improved as far as the matches quality, but the Promos overshadowed the show, too many Promos, too short matches, C'mon LU, you can do better than these last 3 Episodes!"

[5.0] "Lucha Underground falters more each week. They’re trying to make LU into more of a straight up drama tv show with wrestling needlessly tacked on rather than a wrestling promotion with tv-show elements as it originally started out. The more crazy things we get (dragons, undercover cops, mass-murderers, Aztec descendants, psychopaths, dark cult followers, etc. ) the harder it becomes to suspend disbelief that all these unusual things could rationally occur within a single wrestling promotion. I still enjoy the story involving Muertes, but pretty much every other story in LU atm is either barely keeping my interest or already boring me. The wrestling was slightly better this week at least. Joey Ryan showed a bit of charisma in his match against Cage, Angelico did alright in the 6 man tag team match, and Puma and Pentagon put on a mildly interesting display, although their finish was completely bullshit (if there’s a double pin happening then any trained ref would NOT count it in the first place). One positive is that the production for the series remains fantastic. It really would be much better if Lucha Underground was a fully scripted fantasy tv-show about a wrestling promotion rather than a wrestling promotion that over-indulges in fantasy tv-show elements like it's currently doing."
