114.03.2024sixxgod8.0Eddie's been a great champion but the ROH title just hasn't felt like it's had the same prestige for a good while now

629.01.2024Moose Nugget9.0The ROH World Championship has always been treated as an important title in Ring of Honor proper before Tony Khan bought the promotion. Even before then though there were a few missteps when it come to who was the champion, especially in the years before Tony bought it. Other promotions besides AEW have not treated the title as a major deal, New Japan for example. But the linage really is fantastic, with the title going to wrestlers that are upcoming starts in the world of pro wrestling.

816.01.2024Cakeboyo2.0The name of ROH has been muddied by the AEW brand and has been turned into a developmental brand. It stings, it hurts and I do not care for this design for the ROH title. Every single title had been changed to the silver design aside from the trios belt. But the ROH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP Feels akin to the WW-ECW world title. Having Claudio wrestle for the AEW world title opportunity as he's ALREADY world champion in ROH is a embarrassment to the name of ROH and its legacy. Treating it more like a toy/prop than ever before. Eddie is TRYING his damnedest to make this title worth something. And I respect that. But right now. Until ROH can spread it's wings. The world title is sadly getting a two.
904.01.2024smokestack What used to be the most important championship in pro wrestling in North America for most of the 2000s now felled by being a company's 4th most important singles championship, 3rd if you don't include the AEW World Championship. I laughed when Jonathan Gresham threw a fit over losing the title, but now I kind of see his point. He spent the pandemic traveling the world with the title while ROH was just three letters that Tony Khan owned. Made it feel important, brought the original belt back. And now, it's a part of the CONTINENTAL CROWN that no one asked for. Eddie Kingston isn't even presented as the man, and frankly doesn't wrestle as the man. And I say this as a die hard Eddie fan. It's a useless prop now. But hey, I guess all belts are props. At least this one had meaning.

2905.05.2023Hill9.0It has a few sore thumbs like Xavier and PCO, but the amount of stars it created from Bryan Danielson to Samoa Joe to Tyler Black/Seth Rollins to Kevin Steen/Owens. Winning the ROH world title back then was a gurantee that you were watching a future legend in action. Even now under the Tony Khan regime current legends like Claudio and Chris Jericho of all people are having exciting runs.

4023.12.2022texasyosh8.0The list of ROH Champions would become future main eventers throughout the entirety of the wrestling industry. From 2003-2009, it might've been the best booked world championship in North America. Since then, inconsistency has been known for ROH. For every Steen there's a Matt Taven. The title seems to be on the right direction under the new ROH.

4629.10.2022crs2858.0A lot of good matches over this title and some of the best workers in pro wrestling have held the title. Had a few moments where the title's prestige was brought down before being built back up again but overall has stayed strong

6514.04.2022Okaro1437.0Some of the greatest Championship matches in American soil were contested for this title. It was once, the most valuable Title during the mid 2000s and was held by the best and most outstanding professional wrestlers of the 2000s; Names like Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Nigel McGuinness, etc. Since the late 2010s though, it began to loose the prestige it once had; The matches have been uninspiring, the storylines are generic and the level of competition has decreased. It's still a credible World Title but much less valuable than before. Hopefully with the acquisition of RoH by Tony Khan, the prestige of this Title rises.

7201.11.2021Jaedynr510.0once upon a time, the ROH World Title was the most prestigious belt in America, Danielson, Punk, Joe, Aries, Morishima, McGuinness, Roddy Strong, Kevin Steen, Jay Briscoe, and the likes. nowadays it's still a prestigious championship but nowhere near the biggest belt in the world anymore

8019.05.2021medouse8.0Back in a day, besides IWGP titles, it was the most prestigious title in US. Ring of Honor was my favourite promotion and their most valuable title meant the guy who was a champion was a real deal wrestler who presented some serious quality wrestling. In fact, I think it was still the most important title until the pandemics hit. This title around Rush's waist lost a lot of it's meaning, because there is almost no competition anymore. My favourite champions: Jay Lethal, Jay Briscoe, Tyler Black, Austin Aries, Nigel McGuinness.

8305.03.2021CTFB10.0This is the American Indie equivalent of the IWGP Heavyweight title. I can just say that and leave, but the reigns and the title holders can't be ignored either. Joe, Lethal, Strong, Danielson (D-Bry), Punk, Black (Rollins), Steen (Owens), Daniels, Cody, and many more. Another title that goes in the ranks of some of the best titles of all time.

8919.09.2020Cort3z7.0over the last 5 years the only good champions have been Lethal, Cody & Adam Cole. Elgin, Daniels, & Rush definitely needed to have much longer runs with the title, especially Rush! Taven was very meh & its shameful that Marty still hasn't gotten a run, but PCO has which doesn't make sense to me at all. They need to bring in some fresh talent into the title picture like Shane Taylor or maybe Teddy Hart and other indy talent.
9014.09.2020Ma Stump Puller6.0If you were judging the title from the earlier days, it would be regarded as one of the greatest belts of all time, especially with the talent behind all of the reigns. There were barely a dud between each guy holding it, and some of the best matches of the last 15 years or so came from guys who held this belt at some point. Of course, ROH has fallen pretty badly these days, and that's reflected on the quality of the belt holders: I really don't think there's been a good one in a while.
9106.09.2020Haggar4.0While it has a good lineage, for the better part of the last decade the title seems to have lost it's prestige. At one point it may have been higher, but as the North American title picture has changed, this title has surely lost it's luster.

10018.09.2019TheV28.0The title history kinda resembles what ROH represented at that certain time. ROH was especially in its earlier years very focused on the wrestling. This lead to amazing organic wrestling storytelling. Low Ki is the perfect guy to indicate this route for ROH as their first champion since he's the guy to get reduced to wrestling. Ever since Joe's record run ROH was responsible for the creation of the biggest rising stars in the wrestling industry. Considering how much guys from Joe to Adam Cole benefited from becoming ROH Champion and considering the amazing title matches we've seen, this can only be a 10/10 title, right? Unfortunately at a certain time ROH's uniqueness was kinda overshadowed by indy-legends, indy-stars and to be honest, even Bullet Club. Once ROH was too influenced by the main-stream, even for the main-stream ROH lost its touch, though I hope some people can still enjoy it. I don't really blame the champions, a Dalton Castle could've had a way better title reign in ROH's prime days. But one thing you can tell is that if the wrestling industry gets more competitive again, the ROH championship and ROH itself had a big influence on this process.
