We would come to find out that they were saving the best bells for the following night, and night one of Mania XL did a perfect, and I mean PERFECT, job of setting up XL night-two, and felt almost like a prologue of WWE being the top dog in the Pro-Wrestling industry of 2024! |

Michael Cole's call of "Do you believe in miracles" even on the umpteenth time of hearing it still gets a pop out of me! The Tag Main event was an exciting if predictable contest, & The Women's opener started the show off excellently, especially with what those two women were dealing with prior to and during the bout. The Usos match was the one bad apple and man it was badddddd, I think it was terribly disappointing, and a stipulation definitely would've helped hide some of the issues, but in general, that couldn't take away from an excellent show. |

We had so many great moments like The Six-Pack Ladder Match with Awesome Truth getting their moment in the sun, Gunther vs. Sami Zayn with Zayn finally ending GUNTHER's historic reign and the Main Event between Rock & Roman vs. Seth & Cody with Bloodline Rules being instated. We had some weak points like Rey and Dom in the tag match, Jimmy vs. Jey in one of the WORST Mania matches of ALL-TIME. I mean seriously, It was just superkick after superkick. Overall, a good show that needed some more oomph. [***1/2] |

Jey Vs Jimmy was disappointing trash and both Rey and Andrade Vs Dom and Santos and Bianca, Jade and Naomi Vs Damage CRTL were just there to showcase some of the WWE's newest and returning recruits around that time, but Rhea Vs Becky, the six pack Tag Team Title ladder match and Roman and Rock Vs Cody and Seth were all really amazing and Sami Vs Gunther is incredible. Overall WWE WrestleMania 40 (2024) Day 1 is a good show and it set the stakes for WWE WrestleMania 40 (2024) Day 2. |

All in all, a good night, however it doesn't compare to Night 2. Then you have one of the worst matches of all time and some shitty filler tags to make this not feel like the grandest stage of them all. |

Same for the entrances, we could have shortened a lot of them so that in the end we would have saved time on a show that lasts a little over 4 hours. A good opener with a forgettable entrance for Becky Lynch and an entrance by Rhea Ripley botched by a singer who doesn't know how to sing properly into a microphone and who only knows the chorus of his own song... The ladder match is cool to watch too with a bit of comedy that doesn't hurt from R-Truth. Then a soft underbelly with a men's tag match that we could have done during a weeklie and the long-awaited confrontation between the Usos which turns out to be disappointing but which is not that long and disturbing, it has its place on the card given the storyline. Lil Wayne's presence is nothing more but Jey's entrance warms up the crowd. Then another tag match but feminine on the verge of bad when we see Naomi or Jade Cargill wrestling in the ring. For Cargill it doesn't bother me because we were expecting it but it's a shame for Naomi. Sami Zayn Vs Gunther is the match of the evening and quite far compared to the others. It's the good moment of this evening. The Main Event benefits from a long duration for the entrances and also a beautiful staging. The match is long but well booked from start to finish I think so it goes. The crowd was still pretty good considering that it was very cold in the arena, bravo to them because given my reactions on this show it didn't seem so simple to me at certain moments. It kicked off strong with Becky vs. Rhea delivering a very good opener, and the tag team match that followed gave us R-Truth's long-awaited WrestleMania moment, which was such a feel-good highlight. But yeah, the momentum dipped after that. Jey vs. Jimmy Uso was a real letdown, it just didn't hit the emotional or storytelling notes it needed to. Then came the real showstopper: Sami Zayn dethroning Gunther in what can only be described as a masterpiece. The storytelling, the psychology, the sheer emotion, it was legendary and easily the standout of the night. The main event tag match didn't quite meet my expectations, but it wasn't bad either. It felt more like a setup for the events of Night 2, which definitely stole the spotlight. Overall, this night was solid, some highs, some lows, but it was completely overshadowed by what came the next night. Still, there were moments here that'll stick with me for a long time. |

Following that was the chaotic and fun Ladder Match filled with many insane spots which varied from funny to extreme. The penultimate match between Sami and Gunther was a great way to end Gunther's historic title reign. And then the main event, I mean it was The Rock's first match in WWE after years. That match was built slowly but in the end it was very exciting. |

MOTY contender and arguably the best match that entire week .. 5 stars, nothing more to be said now the main event started slow and a bit boring but it picked up halfway through and it was AWESOME, the rock is the rock, he knows what to do and when to do it, roman yet again proved why he's the top guy, great showcase for Cody and a great tease for night 2, ans Seth Rollins was all of that and more one of the greatest wrestlmania's of all time and that's without night 2 |
