John Bradshaw Layfield: "At this time I would like to conduct a performance appraisal. It's something management does to assess the value of their employees and right now I would like to publicly assess the value of my employee: Shawn Michaels.

[Shawn Michaels' Musik ertönt und er betritt den Ring]

A couple of months ago, I offered to bail you out of a financial crisis that you got yourself and your family into from years and years of bad investments and years and years of frivolous generosity to your friends and family. I fulfilled my end of the proposal.

Shawn Michaels: "Yes you have."

JBL: "I know that I have. That is the difference between great businessmen and amateurs. Make no mistake: I had no altruistic motive for helping you out. I had no quaint quixotic view of life by doing the right thing. I'm way too machiavellan for that. I had one reason - and one reason only - and that was to hire you for me to get me to Wrestlemania 25, the anniversary, as World Heavyweight Champion. And that begs for you to be forced a little introspection - which I'm sure, Shawn, you absolutely hate. The question being: Did you fulfil your end?

Michaels: "You hired me to make sure that you were the World Heavyweight Champion going into WrestleMania. Since that time I've done so many things that I'm not proud of. I did the most humiliating, shameful thing a competitor can do. I laid down for you making you number one contender. I put you on top of a nearly unconscious Cena at the Royal Rumble and last week, I had John Cena beat - and you interfered. If I had beat John Cena that would have ensured you a spot in the Elimination Chamber. As far as I'm concerned, in this business relationship [Michaels würgt das Wort 'business' quasi heraus] the blame doesn't go on me, it goes on you.

JBL: "No. The answer was no. You failed. Just liked you failed at your finances, just like you failed at your family, you failed me! You can blame the sun beaming in your eyes, you can blame your shoes being untied, the fact of the matter is you failed and I have put up with more from you than I ever would have dreamed was humanly possible an I have in mind right now to release you from your contract. Is that what you want?"

Michaels: "To be honest what I want.... what I want is to kick your teeth down your throat."

JBL: "Sure you do. I'm positive you do, cause me standing here makes you realize what a failure you are. But you do that and you will lose your job. You do that you are bankrupt. You do that you are a pathetic deadbeat. You do that you throw away all these sacrifices and these so-called humiliations that the Heartbreak Kid suffered. But you do that, most importantly, you don't just cause yourself problems, Shawn. Think of someone other than yourself for a change in your life: You cause your family to suffer.

Michaels: "What do you want from me? What do you want from me?"

JBL: "I'll make you a proposal. You versus me at No Way Out. Winner take all. It's all or nothing. You're under a one year contract to me, I'm paying you a fortune if you beat me at No Way Out I will pay you everything that I owe you. It will be a healthy severance package for you and your family and you never have to worry again.

But if I win...I own you. Not you, your name. I own the Heartbreak Kid, I own Shawn Michaels. You work for me for the rest of your life. It's all or nothing, Shawn. And the ball is going to be in your court because when I own the name Shawn Michaels, if I want to make a movie about the Heartbreak Kid, I make it and you star in it, I own it. If I want you to endorse Layfield Energy and my new products, you do it. If I want to build a restaurant named 'Shawn Michaels' and I wanna put you up in a monkey outfit and dance in front of it, you're gonna be a dancing monkey working for JBL. THAT is what is at stake and not only that. Long after your career is over because I can make money off Shawn Michaels' name, something you have never been able to do.

Long after your career is gone, long after they're done chanting your name, long after you're dead, I'm gonna be making money off your name - not your wife, not your children, not your grandchildren. *I* own the name Shawn Michaels when I win at No Way Out and it will be property of JBL Enterprises. You always said: 'I got myself into this, I'm gonna get myself out.' Well, now is your chance, Shawn. Roll the dice, it's all or nothing. But understand: If it's nothing, it's nothing. You get nothing. Your family gets nothing. Your kids get nothing. One clothesline, you slip on a banana peel, Shawn, when I beat you at No Way Out, that's what I get.

I get it all. And you get absolutely - nothing. Wanna roll the dice? Or do you want to worry about the day when your children look up to you and wonder why you're working for me and with tears in their eyes they're gonna look at you and they're gonna say: 'Weren't we worth fighting for, Daddy?'"

Michaels: "I accept!"

JBL: "But let's be clear, because you still work for me. No matter what happens at No Way Out you work for me and Shawn, you put your hands on me, This deal is off the table. Forever.

So you understand what you're accepting? [JBL stößt Michaels von da ab unablässig mit dem Finger] You understand it's all or nothing? You understand that if you lose I OWN YOUR NAME. I own the Michaels name, I own the birthright, I own everything about it. You heard that? You understand that? You better understand that you're rolling the dice. DO YOU GOT THAT? DO YOU GOT THAT? Because that's what you're facing!

In your prime you might have gonna beat me but look at you. You're a broken-down old man. And there's no way right now that you're gonna beat the Wrestling God! Absolutely no way! You should have just got fired." [JBL ohrfeigt Shawn, der mit sich selbst ringt, aber dann schließlich den Ring verlässt, ohne weiter etwas tun zu können]
