215.04.2024rgpick10.0There's a lot of great wrestling in the world right now, but Stardom has been consistently my favorite promotion for a while now. They have a combo of incredible in-ring action, entertaining comedy, and fantastic characters. All-Star Grand Queendom might end up being my favorite show of the year; it's easily been the best show so far.

1610.03.2024Zak228.0My favourite promotion globally right now. I'm a big fan of Natsupoi, Starlight Kid, Tam Nakano and others. There is always something to enjoy on a stardom show, and stardom can be a very fun viewing experience, and I don't typically have "fun" with wrestling, I enjoy it but "fun" is something which if you can invoke in me, you've done good. Their big shows always are worth watching and will feature some exceptional wrestling, the smaller shows are a inconsistent minefield of great and poor matches. My only big issue with stardom is the over reliance on tag matches which imo gets quite same old, same old. On the booking side, Stardom is fine, nothing special, they have booked some good rivalries here and there but nothing out of this world. End of the day, Stardom has some brilliant talents, some fun gimmicks and is a good promotion to follow, but like all wrestling companies, it's not perfect and has big room to improve, hence the 8/10, if allowed it would be 8.5.
1708.03.2024FSEngine6.0When I was looking for something current to watch outside the American mainstream, I specifically wanted to find more women's wrestling, as while the major American promotions have gotten better about it over time, there's still lots of work to be done. After doing some light research into various women's wrestling promotions, I settled on simply giving Stardom a go, as they're the largest women's wrestling promotion, they're the old stomping grounds of names I'm familiar with (Io Shirai, KAIRI), and they employ(ed) some current talent that get a lot of buzz on social media (Giulia, Utami, Mayu, etc). The presentation is a BIG departure from what I'm used to on American TV. The fact that most of their events look like little more than house shows that happen to get an official broadcast wasn't jarring, as American indies have looked like that forever. But everything else feels very different too, from the stables and the gimmicks, right down to how their matches are laid out. It can often feel less like a simulated combat sport and more like an idol performance, where the idols perform wrestling moves instead of sing and dance. That's definitely a big hurdle for me, as idols/idol culture are not generally my thing. It's especially noticeable on the big 6/8/10 woman tag matches they run on their tour/house shows, and there are a LOT of those matches. But when they decide to put on an "actual" wrestling match, whether it be a veteran squashing a younggirl in 6 minutes, or a normal tag match, or a quick comedy match with a 4'11" crotchety clown, or just your good old "you have that belt and I want it" title fight, it really is leagues better and more watchable than most of the women's material that gets shown on American TV. So while it's an acquired taste, ultimately I am glad I stuck it out and am keeping up with it reguarly in 2024. Shoutout to Mina Shirakawa, who is currently my favorite wrestler (of any gender) that was not wrestling in Ring of Honor in 2005.

2315.02.2024ChocoboSage10.0This promotion has consistently been my favourite since 2017, amazing roster of talent that never seems to weaken even when their top stars leave or retire.New talent are signed or brought in as rookies that hit the ground running. The best womens promotion in the business without question, but now with Rossy gone and several of the talent likely to follow him. It's a really uncertain time for Stardom. I just hope the roster is ok and will thrive

4123.12.2023Chris7777.0Stardom is not neccesarily in a major downfall, but the sheer amount of injuries and belt vacants this year thanks to overworking their talents like no others is a truly a tragedy that need to be reflected on. On one hand All star queendom is one of the best shows this year and there are some excellent story beats including the losing leave unit steel cage match. On the other hand, there are many baffling decisions including underulitizing talents and underwhelming title reigns, and that's speaking from someone that wasnt even bothered by Maika not winning 5star. Of course compared to western women wrestling it's still leagues ahead but, if with a bar such low almost any Joshi promotion can contest that. Overall, it's far from the best that Stardom should be able to offer this year.

4803.12.2023Itsover9000man10.0My absolute favourite promotion at the moment. a tremendous mix of phenomenal workrate and storytelling, with little details that people like me really appreciate. The main event level talent are fantastic with a truly great undercard. I started watching stardom at the beginning of the year when i was in japan and was able to see the first 2 shows of the year live and i really enjoyed it, Ive been watching ever since. Stardom (and joshi in general) is several light years above American women's wrestling, in America women's wrestling has a tendency to be sloppy, have bad to horrendous booking and most companies dont seem to care all to much. now there are of course some great women wrestlers in America but i can count the truly great ones on one hand and dont even get me started on booking, i cant understand why American companies have such difficulty with booking women's wrestling it shouldnt be any more than booking mens wrestling. Stardom has some of my favourite wrestlers tam nakano, suzu suzuki, giulia, and of course mayu iwatani. Stardom does a great job at making wrestlers feel like stars (another problem American women's wrestling has) they also have the best roster of young wrestlers Ive ever seen. A truly great promotion.

5906.10.2023Rami10.0Stradom produces some of the best wrestling on the planet and demonstrates everything that is wrong with western women's wrestling, when you watch a women's match on WWE, AEW, impact or any American Indy for that matter, the wrestling most of the time isn't good, it's botchy, sloppy, clumsy, awkward, the timing isn't right, the strikes look weak, the selling is poor, the matches feel like they're taking place under water, it's slow, it feels mechanic and not fluid, there's no psychology, no in ring subtle storytelling, the wrestlers are out of place most of the time, they don't feel distinct, they all have the same in ring style, the same energy, the same lack of physical charisma and they don't emotionally engage in the match so you feel like you're watching two brainless machines going through a bunch of spots that they mess up half the time like it's their first ever match, there are exceptions of course, Becky, Charlotte, Rhea, Mercedes, Athena, Natalya, Deeb, Grace.....etc, and NXT has a lot of prospects that look promising like Tiffany and Sol Ruca.....etc, but the rest have some of those problems and even the ones that I listed to an extent, and that's why in America women's wrestling is far below men's wrestling in term of quality and people pretend to enjoy just to be polite, that's why when AEW do a women's match, the crowd goes silent, even if the match ends up being good, they still didn't care. On the other side, stardom has none of these problems and it's sublime, the wrestlers know what they're doing and they know how to make you feel you're watching a believable contest, the botches and messed up spots are very rare, the matches are well timed, perfectly paced, it's fluid, it's smooth, it's crisp, it's polished, it's energetic, the strikes are stiff, the selling is on point, the psychology is great, every wrestler feels different whether from an in ring or character side. To be fair, stardom isn't perfect, they sometimes do goofy shit, the championships have the same god awful star design and the matches would be better without the dives to the outside where all the wrestlers have to gather for no reason to catch the diving wrestler But it's still very good and a great example of what women's wrestling could and should be

6620.09.2023Neko Junia10.0Stardom became my favorite promotion in 2021, after I read about and watched the Utami v Syuri classic match. More than any other promotion today, it consistently provides great wrestling, a little humor and a ton of heart and feel good moments. The overall presentation, music, costumes, etc. is top notch as well. I'm blown away by the roster depth, the main eveners are among the best in the world of any gender. And somehow the under card wrestlers are so endearing, I can't help but root for them. I really like the unit based approach as it fuels the friendships that lead to a lot of the storytelling and drama. The QQ v Oedo Tai cage match from Stardom Sunshine is my 2023 match of the year.

7308.08.2023Mathias I started to watch Stardom not even a month ago and it's been nothing but amazing. I'm the kind of fan who's really been driven by the story telling elements and this promotion is absolutely second to none in this domain (I thought I hated escape rules in a cage match until a few weeks ago! ). The crazy amount of content outside of the matches also helps with getting attached to the wrestlers and getting into the whole product much faster. I still can't really dig into a few things, like the lack of selling sometimes and the fact that opponents shake hands or hug each other after their matches, which bothers me especially when some Oedo Tai members, but then it's really nitpicking and it's probably because of cultural differences or because I'm new. Anyway, I can't wait to see more of Stardom!

7503.08.2023Ketereles Best women's promotion I've ever seen. The roster is great. Mayu, Tam, Natsupoi, Saya, Saki - fire. They're awesome. Storytelling is presented with interesting internet content. I really hope a lot of people get to know about Stardom. I'll be buying Cosmic Angels Goods soon.
7631.07.2023Aguskan10.0Just started watching this promotion less than 6 months ago. Now I wake up at 5 AM to watch the events, so I guess that's sums it up. Amazing matches back to back every event, good storytelling. It has it flaws, not every decision is perfect and I hate I can't watch all live. But at least every event it's worth to watch if you like wrestling.

8020.07.2023Mugendai6.0Stardom is fine, it's just not for me. In terms of athletic ability, Stardom has some of the best actual athletes in women's wrestling, but I don't ever feel as though I enjoy anything done on a Stardom show. Whether it's long matches to try and create an epic atmosphere or sensational moves that half the time don't go well (please don't die, Mayu), Stardom feels like it misses more often than it hits for me personally. That said, their bigger shows are always worth catching, it's just hard to justify giving a score higher than a 6 to a promotion that I think you can skip at least half the content of and still be able to keep track, as the random house shows uploaded to Stardom World loaded with filler 6-woman or 8-woman tags don't need to be watched in order to keep up.

8409.07.2023Matt5129510.0Stardom is currently (and has been for the past 4 or so years) the most consistently phenomenal wrestling promotion on the planet. Only rivaled by New Japan when it comes to in-ring quality, these wrestlers perform at the highest caliber possible. Not only do you see high-speed Joshi at it's finest, but hard-hitting bouts, technical wizardry, and intricate story lines that makes you do your homework and dive deeper into the lore. For my friends in the west who are sleeping on Stardom, do yourself a favor and fork out a couple bucks for Stardom World and be amazed.
8529.06.2023NEVERoverweightChampion9.0I gave them an 8 the last time I rated the promotion, mainly saying that it's the best joshi promotion but with sometimes stupid booking decisions. Since then Stardom has been bought by Bushiroad, a lot of new talents signed with the promotion, a lot of things happened. I'd say the booking has been more consistent the last few years, especially this year it becomes more interesting because Rossy kind of changed his formula with some surprising but logical booking decisions. He had an habit of booking very long reigns for the World and Wonder of Stardom titles but he changed that lately, which makes the promotion less predictable and more enjoying to watch. Match quality has improved, a lot of wrestlers are more experienced right now and there's also promising rookies so it's an exciting time for Stardom. The thing I'd like to see improve is the booking of the tournaments. Some wrestlers will have a 5 Star GP match on some night and then not wrestle for a few shows, it makes it confusing to follow sometimes. The Cinderella tournament was maybe more enjoyable when it was just a one night tournament. Besides that I don't have much complaints.
8627.06.2023xToniSk1989x10.0Wenn man nach hochklassigen Womens Wrestling sucht, kommt man definitiv nicht um Stardom herum. Für mich die weltweit beste Promotion in Sachen Womens Wrestling.
8721.06.2023Gus1210.0The best promotion in the world. While not without flaws it excels in pretty much every department. Personally it is one of the biggest reasons I fell in love with wrestling again and for that it will always be special to me.

9413.05.2023u1007.0In 2022 I called Stardom (rated then at 9.0) an undeniable success that legitimized a generation of hot talent. In 2023, my opinions of the now-top joshi promotion are a lot more complicated. The highs of 2022 and 2023 are far greater than the unforgettable Nippon Budokan with a brilliant show in Yokohama Arena commanding over 5000, but the lows of the promotions have becoming glaringly apparent. A much more crowded roster with an over-abundance of outsiders (that ironically enough end up creating better stories and matches), and many more instances of questionable booking that only serves to undermine the roster that was affirmed in 2019-2020 with the Golden Generation. Stardom, New Blood, Showcase, more PPVs, more tournaments. There are almost *too many* moving parts in today's Stardom, and in my opinion things may only end up better when structure returns to the market leader, and that's why my rating dropped to a 7.0.
