[5.0] "Dragon Gate when it first started out was easily one of best promotions of the northeast, but as time went by, it just became another northeastern promotion. It never truly had the chance to match Dragon Gate Japan, especially in the quality of it matches, but it still could have been something great. Just very disappointing if you're asking me."
[9.0] "Ich vermisse die Liga total. Was würde man heute auch für Bomben Events haben. Was man alleine heute für Wrestler in den Indies hat. DGUSA war fantastisch. Auch die UK Version war großartig wobei ich davon nicht viel sah."
[4.0] "DGUSA was ultimately disappointing. It had so much potential to take wrestling from a different approach but ended up just being another north east indie. I do think there is some value in watching it if you are interested in the 2000s/early 2010s American indie scene, or if you like fast paced action but aren't ready for a show with non-English commentary. The matches featuring dragon gate talent tend to be very good, but most of the singles matches are just condensed versions of what you would have seen in Dragon Gate Japan. In particular I remember Doi vs Shingo from the first PPV, be spot for spot a match they had in Japan with 5 minutes in the middle of it taken out. The American talent on the show was a mixture of CZW, Evolve and Chikara talent, and may serve as a less intimidating introduction than watching in their home promotion."
[6.0] "Started out with an excellent run of shows, but quickly became unsustainable due to circumstances outside of Gabe Sapolsky's control. Because he had to work with the Dragon Gate home promotion, it felt like Sapolsky never had total control over the booking and there were times when his booking style was at odds with what DG Japan was doing. I think the biggest example of this was Akira Tozawa's excellent 2011 run where he was immensely popular in the U. S. and arguably the biggest babyface in the promotion, but DGUSA had to keep him as a secondary heel because that was his role in Japan. It never made sense that guys like BB Hulk and Yamato were Champions when the likes of Tozawa, Shingo, and CIMA were more well-known to U. S. fans. Another negative was the dwindling production values that seemed to get worse as they went along, including one show where the lighting was so bad that it looked like they were wrestling in the dark. Ultimately, I think DGUSA will be remembered for the rise of Johnny Gargano, who seemed to be one of the only guys Sapolsky had full creative control in booking and did an excellent job turning into a star."
[8.0] "Great promotion while it lasted. Perhaps unsustainable, they put on something engaging and ambitious and the legacy lives on with its titles remaining active and internationally defended until mid 2015. EVOLVE is the new ace of World Wrestling Network and I don't think that's a bad thing. The EVOLVE tag team division is currently at least as strong as DGUSA's and I think the legacy of the promotions lives on through its ever growing sister company."
[2.0] "A good idea to begin with. Introduce Dragon Gates brand of wrestling to the US and throw in a bunch of the american indy scene, what could possibly go wrong? Well, the Dragon Gate guys leaving and the american indy scene making DGUSA one of the most boring promotion to have lasted as long as it did. Did they have star power? yeah i would say so, but losing the DG star power they were found on pulled the plug on the promotion and a few years later it flatlined. I'm glad DGUSA has discontinued and if it comes back, i'll be personally sending letters to that idiot Gabe letter bombs with a frowny face on it."
[6.0] "Nachdem der Hype um die Liga am Anfang riesig war und sie auch großartige Events ablieferten nahm die Qualität und Zuschauerzahl immer mehr ab. Die aktuelle Pause tut sicherlich gut, um das Konzept neu zu überdenken."
[5.0] "Once Gabe booked great international matches between Dragon Gate superstars and the best athletes from the American indy scene. Now it's just a bunch of mediocre shows featuing just American workers and no more Japanese wrestlers. I hope they close because they've just become a bad American copy of the original DG. 5 on 10, just because prior to 2014 they were still good."
[6.0] "Wenn man die ursprünglichen Shows DGUSAs mit denen von heute vergleicht, dann wird es einem schon etwas schwer um's Herz. War das Roster anfangs noch gespickt mit den japanischen Dragon Gate-Stars, kann man heute schon froh darüber sein, wenn es mal vier Japaner in eine Show schaffen. Dazu kommt, dass das Roster zu unstet ist und Wrestler nicht selten aufgebaut werden, dann aber plötzlich verschwinden - sei es, weil sie Verträge mit anderen Promotions abschließen oder aber Verpflichtungen in Japan haben. Die Qualität der Shows ist oft wechselhaft. Etwas mehr Konstanz auf allen Ebenen würde der Liga wirklich gut tun."
[6.0] "Update: Willkommen in der Realität. Mehr fällt mir bei DGUSA nicht mehr ein. Am Anfang zwei Abende voller Main Events, später gute Veranstaltungen mit einigen Highlights und was nun? Solide Kost, mehr nicht. Es ist weniger das Problem, dass es nicht immer wieder mal wirklich sehenswerte Matches gibt, sondern dass vieles einfach nur austauschbar und bestenfalls ganz nett ist. Schade, denn der Auftakt liess damals Großes vermuten."
[8.0] "Mann muss zugeben, dass die ersten beiden Shows deutlich besser waren. Allerdings weiß die Liga auch heute noch mit sehr guten Matches zu beeindrucken."
[8.0] "2009 hat DGUSA einige der besten Shows im Indybereich rausgehauen und uns Perlen wie Danielson vs Doi und Shingo vs Richards geschenkt. Auch heute sind die Shows noch regelmäßig große Klasse und die Dastellung der Champions gefällt mir sehr gut. Mein Problem ist das selbe wie mit Dragon Gate in Japan auch, es wird teilweise einfach zuviel, wenn man teilweise 4 oder sogar noch mehr Overkill-Spotfeste auf der Card hat, schießen die Shows einfach übers Ziel hinaus und die wahrgenommene Qualität sinkt. Dennoch ist DGUSA immer wieder für eine sehr starke Show gut."
"Die ersten Shows waren natürlich der reine Wahnsinn. Aber was will man auch anderes erwarten, wenn man die Dragon Gate Elite nimmt und Danielson und Richards dazu gibt? Die Frage ist, ob man den hohen Standard, den man mit diesen Shows gesetzt hat, auch dauerhaft halten kann, vor allem da Danielson und Richards nun durch weniger talentierte Wrestler ersetzt werden müssen."
[8.0] "Sie haben schon oft richtig gute Shows, doch man muss sehen ob sie auch weiterhin gute Shows abliefern. Die Cards sind auf jeden Fall fast immer ordentlich. Sie bekommt erstmal eine starke 8, wenn sie so weitermachen vielleicht bald eine 9."
[9.0] "Die erste Show war großartig. Um die Liga selbst zu bewerten ist es ja eigentlich noch zu früh, aber falls es besser oder schlechter wird ändere ich die Wertung eben. Auf jeden Fall will ich mehr davon sehen."
"Der erste Event war mit unglaublichen Matches gerade zu überfrachtet. Mal schaun, wie sich die junge Liga in der kommenden zeit entwickelt und ob sie das hohe Niveau in der Indyszene halten kann. Potenzial ist da!"
