However, that said, kudos have to be given as many if not all workers who have left Gorilla and stepped foot in a JCW ring have been well taken care of. Stories abound about how the Clowns (Insane Clown Posse) take care of the talent, stemming back to when they were the 3rd largest promotion in the US in the mid-2000s. What does that say about the product? Well, it is fine-tuned to a particular audience with themes from the music of ICP peppered throughout, yet they still bring in legends and attempt to coexist side by side with pro-wrestling's Golden and Silver eras. Its not for everyone but there is something for the diehard wrestling fan and the juggalo alike. Whoop! Whoop! |

Their shows often feature decent in-ring action, and bring enough of a sense of fun to make even the lesser-quality matches entertaining. Shaggy and J's genuine love of wrestling shows through, and they have deep enough pockets to bring in notable names in addition to their regular crew, and seem to have good reputations as employers to keep them coming back. With JCW nearing its 20th anniversary, clearly they're doing something right. |

The style of JCW is largely based upon hardcore wrestling. Bruce and Utsler refer to Extreme Championship Wrestling as the major influence on the company's style as well as their unique camera angles, which they compare to that of the movie Natural Born Killers; "fading in and out, and turning all over. "[1] In early years of the company, talent mostly consisted of rappers and well-known names performing under parody alternate-names. The company instituted a change in the roster after changing their name, focusing more on independent and hardcore wrestlers, as well as several established names. JCW records the majority of its shows and releases them in episodes of SlamTV! and on DVDs, which are sold on its online store. It launched the JCW Wrestling School with Kevin Canady as head trainer in 2010. That December, the promotion began running bi-weekly events at The Modern Exchange in Southgate, Michigan and established a video distributing partnership with HighSpots. com. In March 2011, it launched a broadcasting website and began showing its bi-weekly events live on internet pay-per-view (iPPV). |

Ich liebe die Shows als Ganzes; leider sind diese fast nicht oder nur sehr schwer zu bekommen. Natürlich ist das Wrestling zumeist recht schwach. Trotzdem sind auch hier immer wieder Highlights zu finden, man denke nur an Officer Colt Cabana. Neben der Juggalos Corporal Robinson, 2 Tuff Tony oder den Ring Rydas gibt es zumeist immer richtig gute Matches mit dem Necro Butcher oder Mad Man Pondo und eine Bühne für Leute wir Kongo Kong ist auch mehr als in Ordnung. Immer wieder treten Gaststars aus der Geschichte des Mainstreams auf; zurecht bilden diese jedoch nie den Mittelpunkt der Show. In diesem Sinne: Whoop Whoop! |

Sogar ich besitze eine DVD von Bloodymania (und ich glaube der gesamten Tour) in meiner Sammlung. Die Promotion zieht in ihren Kreisen Fans, die Stimmung ist völlig abgespaced auf Juggalos ausgerichtet und sie holen wirklich einige der größten Namen die man holen kann zu JCW. Gimmicks wie der Weedman, die Ring Rydas oder Officer Colt Cabana machen immensen Spaß, dennoch "nur" 5 Pkt. weil ich manche Shows einfach zu belanglos finde. |

Mein Problem mit dieser Promotion ist genau das, was ihren Charme ausmacht. Das derbe Underground Flair. Und zwar wie sich dieses in der Präsentation durch die Posse niederschlägt. Dass diese Jungs verbal einigermaßen begabt sind, steht außer Frage und liegt eingedenk ihrer musikalischen Profession auch nahe. Doch was man von den beiden dargeboten bekommt (in Bild und Ton) ist so wenig jugendfrei wie das Lebenswerk von Gina Wild. Dagegen wirkt sogar die Attitude Era wie tiefste bunte 80er. Und genau da liegt mein Problem: Insbesondere bei den sexistischen und drogenverherrlichenden Kommentaren der Clowns bin ich stetig hin- und hergerissen zwischen Tränen lachen und unangenehm berührt sein. Teilweise bekommt man bei JCW echte Brüller serviert - oft ist's aber auch platt und dumm und überdies sehr unpassend. Denn wenn ich mir das Wrestlingbiz mit all seinen Problemen anschaue, finde ich es sehr makaber, wenn bei JCW der Drogenkosnum backstage gezeigt wird oder die Kommentatoren entsprechende Witze über das Thema reißen .... mit sehr klarem, fragwürdigem Standpunkt. Nun ist mir klar, dass das zum Underground Image der Liga gehört - das ändert aber einen Scheißdreck daran, dass ich sowas sehr unpassend und makaber finde. Fazit: Mit Vorsicht zu genießen das Ganze. Überdies der Beweis, dass gezielt adultes Entertainment im Wrestling sogar noch hinverbrannter sein kann als der ganze "WWE-Kiddie-Kram". |

Die Fans sind wirklich wild und die meisten Wrestler bekommen begeisterte Pops oder wütende Heat. Auch das Roster setzt sich vor allem aus Leuten zusammen, die es verstehen, mit dem Publikum zu arbeiten. Zwar sieht man seltener technisch ausgefallene Matches, aber darum geht es den Veranstaltern auch gar nicht: Statt dessen wird eine Rockkonzert-ähnliche Atmosphäre geschaffen! |
