40329.01.2023yourhero6.06.5/10 AEW has many interesting wrestlers and a few great talents such as MJF. It seems that they give their workers a lot of freedom, which has positives and negatives. Promos are often quite enjoyable, but match quality varies greatly. There is frequently an excess of phony-looking spot wrestling, and compared to the WWE it looks minor league. There is also a stop and start nature to many storylines, as if reading single chapters from a random pile of books. I like that they work with other promotions frequently.

40524.01.2023luislima10.0The reason I'm a wrestling fan today. Without AEW, there wouldn't really be a promotion on a national level on US TV that caters to wrestling fans. A product made for us by people like us. It's great. From amazing matches weekly, to great promos and consistent storytelling, AEW has a little for everyone. From lucha, to hard hitting Kings Road matches, to a throwback to good ol' southern rasslin, big men slapping man meat, technical wrestling, hardcore wrestling, tag team wrestling, women's wrestling, just the best wrestling. It's refreshing to have a brand that will get over on its own for having a good product and the target audience is the people that will tune in every single week and buy merch, tickets and PPVs. Only a company that is built on good will goes through everything AEW has went through for these past 4 years and still feel like this is their time.
40616.01.2023Daigotsu10.0AEW brought me back into pro wrestling after a long layoff. In the last year there have been more downs than normal, but even AEW's worst year is top notch wrestling.

41005.01.2023CMFunk0079.0I'm still trying to catch up to modern times. I've watched the Dynamite episodes and all of the PPVs through March 2021, so I'm almost 2 years behind. I'll catch up someday. I will say that this promotion came along at precisely the right time for me, as WWE had grown stale and had no compelling stories being told for the last few years. This promotion gave new life to Chris Jericho when Vince McMahon had decided that Jericho was too old to contribute anymore. Cody Rhodes got a place to shed Stardust from his resume. Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, while not my favorites, got a chance to perform on a bigger stage. Plus, you have newer stars like Britt Baker, Jungle Boy, Darby Allin (I don't get his appeal, honestly), and MJF. You also have veterans like Sting, Dustin Rhodes, Tazz, and more giving some cred to the younger generation. They managed to be entertaining during a pandemic. How could I not love this spiritual resurrection of WCW?
41102.01.2023Jaycob AEW will forever likely be my top promotion, It provides generally exactly what I am looking for in a professional wrestling show. Their PPVs are world-class, plus seeing many top talents from other promotions throughout the world makes each week exciting.
41231.12.2022Le Main Event Been watching professional wrestling since the 80s, but religiously since the Attitude era. After over a decade of mostly subpar WWE PG/family/casual programming and no major alternative since WCW, AEW stormed into the wrestling world with a more mature, gritty product for the hardcore/smarks fans but with the budget and presentation of a mainstream product. With excellent live events and by far the best crowd in any wrestling organization today, I'm happy to report that I wouldn't wanna watch wrestling in any other way. Simply put, AEW reinvigorated my passion for professional wrestling.

42017.12.2022The Undertalker8.0Wenn ich mir die wöchentliche Dynamite-Ausgabe anschaue, hab ich danach fast immer ein gutes Gefühl. Ich mag AEW lieber, als ich z. B. TNA jemals gemocht habe.

42430.11.2022TooDarkMark10.0The most consistently entertaining professional wrestling company since the 1990's. I am enthralled by the matches, storytelling, pushes, builds, and the presentation. I am a fan for life, and I look forward to watching Dynamite and Elevation weekly. I also try to keep up with Dark and Dark Elevation, which can be difficult. But Dark especially you can almost just listen to as a podcast. I have ordered every PPV and enjoyed every one of them immensely. I have also been to four live shows and each one has been amazing. Out of 100's of live professional wrestling shows I have attended since the 1980's, AEW's live shows have been in top 5%. 10/10.
42530.11.2022CommisarRobe7.0Overall the AEW product is good, however recently the company seems a lot more interested in "exciting free agent reveals" than purely focusing on pure wrestling elements, overall a decent promotion and opponent to the WWE. Dynamite is often a better weekly show than RAW and there seems to be more consistently interesting matches at AEW than compared to the other major promotions. That being said, in 2022 WWE has vastly improved whereas it would appear AEW is somewhat on a decline, hit with tonnes of backstage drama [The CM PUNK affair] and dodgy booking. Not too mention that the AEW women's division is criminally under-utilised

42727.11.2022BigVan JimmyWangYang7.0A company with a surplus of high level talent and consistent high level in ring work but over the last year its been consistently held back by underwhelming and uninspired booking. 43025.11.2022VitorRomeu1009.0Best wrestling show of all time without a doubt. He always manages to put on an excellent show every Wednesday and always does surprising ppv's with the highest quality. It currently leaves a lot to be desired with the Dark episodes on Mondays and Tuesdays and their women's wrestling isn't much respected thanks to themselves. But apart from those last two points. AEW is amazing and deserves a high rating.
43122.11.2022myburnersburner10.0
43221.11.2022dirkd047.0I have been wary of AEW since 2019 when the promotion kicked off. At first I was happy that ex WWE talent would have a chance to shine and would be able to prove Vinnie Mac and co wrong...that they deserve more than they were handed in the company. But that was all I appreciated from AEW to be honest. The arenas are too dark, Tony Khan hires too many talent, and the wrestlers going extreme in their matches is really poor booking. We all know how blood attracts sharks. So T. K. decided to use wrestlers showing color to attract fans of ECW and the Attitude Era. And fans loved it, despite the medical problems attached to shots on the head (Chris Benoit; CTE, Katsuyori Shibata; brain hemorrhage, Eddie Guerrero; unprecedented blood loss, Perro Aguayo; death...from a 619 paired with the ropes justling, Plum Mariko; death from pre existing head injuries due to wrestling). So to all those AEW sharks out there, I hope you all are really happy with yourself. If a wrestler ever passes in the AEW ring, know that you all are to blame. That is just one of my major isssues with AEW. Another problem would be Tony Khan. Khan being a wrestling fan is a huge problem. When I first heard that Khan was a wrestling fan like so many others, I dismissed it as another promotional strategy to put T. K. in a good light. But what proved to me that T. K. really is a fan, was the signing of CM Punk. Sure the pipebomb promo might have been a work, but Punk's actions after he was fired where not a work, but very realistic. I understand Punk's resentment towards the E, but his major problem was that he was made to compete while suffering multiple injuries coupled with the growth on his back. And the same Punk admitted that he was urged by his wife after his release to check out the growth on his back. It's like saying you hate someone because the person doesn't help you out in a situation that is in the person's control at the moment. But when the situation is in your own control, you forget to help yourself, but are urged to do so? Khan showed all that he is a wrestling fan when he forgot about Punk's relationship with his employers and Punk's realtionship with other wrestlers. Khan signing Punk actually made me laugh a good deal, because I knew that Punk would be trouble, Punk being a Babyface during his feud with MJF was so unnatural, it was like Cena playing a heel in the ring. And Punk has had a bad experience with EVP types in Triple H and Stephanie McMahon so it was obvious he wouldn't get along with the Bucks and Kenny. So all in all, AEW is a company clustered with too much cash, too much talent, no real goal in the wrestling world(apart from beating the E's ratings) and too few storylines. I would give the company a rating of 7.0 points for at least getting a good number of 5 Star matches.

44022.10.2022Paul047.0This is easily their worst year, Rampage just doesn't matter like the 90% of the time, after Revolution the booking has been really weird, a lot of backstage chaos, and injuries everywhere, Dynamite hasn't had so much great shows this year, I would say that AEW is suffering from its own succes, because this year has been just good for them, but not GREAT like the use to be

44316.10.2022TheDeviantPro5.0AEW started out good only to decline in it's three years since the promotion's creation. Even since Cody has left the company the product has gotten worst. Poor booking, poor build to matches, hiring and putting over ex-WWE talent then there own homegrown stars and a terrible women's division is just a few problems the company currently has. It doesn't help that AEW is run by Tony Khan who is son of a billionaire and a mark who is more concerned in taking shots at the completion on a weekly basics and winning a "Booker of the Year" award from Meltzer rather then improving and growing the company. With the continuing reports of backstage/locker room fighting between talent just shows how poor the company is currently run by it's current CEO/owner and with WWE steadily improving it's product with a new head of creative with Triple H, Tony and AEW needs to get it's act together or the company will become WCW in the early 2000s.
44413.10.2022DylanC2519.0
44512.10.2022Jingu-Reo5.0As many have written, AEW could not have had a better launch and subsequent 2 and 1/2 year run. The product was fresh. The roster was a mixed bag but in a underdog charming way that allowed the audience to get behind acts like Darby Allen, Best Friends, Lucha Bros, Brodie Lee & The Dark Order with legitmate stars headlining of Kenny Omega, Mox & Chris Jericho. THEN CM Punk & the ROH acquisition happened. As I quote several commenters below "Tony Khan is such a terrible promoter and booker, he's just a mark". When Tony Khan cares more about winning "Booker of the Year" than growing his company and establishing long-term stars stars, that is a red flag. When the ECW Paul Heyman /Brian Pillman shoot segments begin trumping actual angles, rivalries and coherent weekly TV, that is a bigger red flag. When on TV, your homegrown act MJF, calls you a mark and says what a lousy place AEW is to work because Tony is acting like a kid with shiny new toy syndrome on top of every ex-WWE/NXT act that Vince McMahon did not want appearing on TV thus stagnating angles that run way too long with no satisfying ending (Julia Hart, Britt/Jamie, Andrade-HFO-House of Black, Hangman since he lost the World Title, the Dark Order, etc) that's another red flag coupled with flat out stupid booking decisions of your top acts with documented medical concerns in hardcore GCW style matches (let's keep putting Bryan Danielson in ECW/ROH hardcore, anarchy in the arena garbage matches even though he has a history of concussions, speaking of concussions lets let Jeff Hardy attempt to kill himself in throwaway nothing matches on free TV with his brother Matt who is lucky to be walking after his two accidents with Sammy Guevara) Then TK takes all that good will he has built up over 2 years and pisses it away with a purchase of ROH - that NO AEW FAN was clamoring for - with no plan for TV. AEW had 4 titles that actually mattered - AEW World, Womens, Tag, TNT - they all got watered down whe you add in a Trios ttle, All Atlantic, TBS, and SIX ROH titles scattered across 3 hours of TV a week. Rampage morphed into ROH - WCW 1999 Thunder, - ROH is on TV now more than AEW! And the biggest red flag - all of Tony's new hires in 2021 - 2022 have been terrible except (Swerve, & Bryan Danielson) - Keith Lee wrestles like he is a heart attack waiting to happen on top of chucking dudes with no regards for their safety , same with Samoa Joe, Andrade, Malakai, Adam Cole, KOR, Tony Storm, Ruby, Athena (serious WTH happened to her), all of the ex-NXT geeks, Satnam Singh, Sonjay Dutt, Saraya, - just giant misses all around with CM Pepsi Phil being the cherry on top. Your $5 Million Dollar Man -sitting right next to you, shits all over you, your company, your talent, provokes a fight, throws the first punch, throws a massive temper tantrum, and now has taken my main reason for supporting AEW (KENNY OMEGA) OFF TV ! with what reads like months to maybe a yea
44612.10.2022coppercowries7.0Started so amazing...I missed the first couple years during the show's initial run, and am currently working my way through it now via Fite. Wow, it was so different and so much better in the first couple years then it is now. Segments all had time to breathe, rivalries were built logically and thoroughly. The entire roster had time and you knew who all the characters were. The top guys regularly lost and faced hardships to conquer. Champions are now given squash matches and no proper feuds, and just exist at the top with zero meaningful struggle. The women's roster is treated like an afterthought. Snapping up every wrestler possible has caused a ridiculous glut in the roster, where segments are rushed and people go months without appearing. Yet numerous wrestlers from other promotions eat up TV time. Combined with the ROH acquisition, there are too many belts and shotgun matches around them. Now the guys who established the damn company are either gone or suspended into the shadow realm and disrespected. Maybe Tony can right the ship, but I'm not hopeful given the man is STILL signing new wrestlers.
44710.10.2022FitzHughUK10.0
44808.10.2022Ultimo Rudo7.0AEW is a mixed bag for me at times. There are months at a time, where I watch regularly, and at other times, I can't be arsed. There is other wrestling that I watch too, so this isn't my 'home promotion.' That said, when I'm glued to the TV, it's when the shows are fun, and well paced. I find the twenty minute openers can suck the life out of the rest of the show, because it's like 'that was amazing, now what? ' There's nothing wrong with with short matches, especially tag, trios, and multi man. Now with the recent backstage drama that's been miring the company of late, the absence of Punk, Kenny and The Bucks has been a blessing. Now we have time for the homegrown talent to get more TV time and exposure, which should've been the one thing TK really stuck with. The recent success of The Acclaimed (Scissor Me, Daddy Ass! ) is something that has been exceptionally well received. I know the former Fed guys bring more eyes to AEW, but they shouldn't be the stars of the show, the homegrown guys should.

45105.10.2022AlabamaSlamma10.0AEW has been so great in its first few years of existence. I think its best year was 2021, however, 2022 hasn't been far behind. If it wasn't for a string of big injuries, and then that unfortunate backstage incident that led to suspensions, I think 2022 would've been its best year yet. It's still been pretty great though. They listen and adjust to things well. AEW makes me feel like I'm a kid again. It feels like all the best parts of previous golden eras like WCW Nitro, Attitude Era WWF (minus all the outdated cringy parts we all wish we could forget), Ruthless Aggression Era WWE(also minus the outdated cringy parts), 1980s NWA/WCW, plus a new spin all their own. Not that they don't have several things they could change, do better, etc. I've got a list of those things too. However, this is still very much the good shit.
45205.10.2022ABQMIKE10.0A nice kick in the pants for what was a solo major landscape for way too long. They rejuvenated alot fans love for wrestling. It's a fresh view and that is good for everyone: wrestlers, fans, other promotions. Provides choices & that can't hurt .

45403.10.2022Wright15 AEW was the best promotion in the world for a good portion of 2022, but it has severely regressed over the last couple months. Washed-up workers continue to debut, struggle for three weeks, and disappear (Saraya). Storylines increasingly become repetitive and overly dragged out, with nothing changing at the end (Hayter, possibly Garcia tomorrow). The women's division is as cold as ever. Great wrestlers are not given a chance (Sakura, JD Drake, etc), sometimes due to pushing undeserving wrestlers, sometimes due to an overly bloated roster with only three hours of TV. Top stars vanish off the face of the earth without any announced explanation, especially concerning given that the Young Bucks and Omega form two of the cornerstones of the promotion and probably don't deserve a long-term suspension. Whenever a big story culminates and a wrestler seems to have become a star, they either go back to where they were or become sparsely used (Wardlow, Page). And finally, the world title keeps getting flopped around like it's the DDT Ironman title. The in-ring quality has remained at a high level, which keeps me from saying that AEW is just a bad promotion right now. But a drastic change is needed for the promotion to get back on track.
45502.10.2022forever17.0
45601.10.2022No One8.0Outstanding matches on a regular basis. Wins & losses matter as it pertains to the ranking system. The ranking system is taken seriously. The championship belts are protected & rarely change hands. The feuds can be intense. Not afraid to be "edgy" with promos & bloody matches. Nothing feels watered down. The right wrestlers are protected. The future stars of the company are mapped out. Tag Team wrestling is extremely important & taken seriously. The Tag Team division in many ways may be the best division of the company. Great at signing useful additions to the promotion. Great at having wrestlers feud with each other, then separated, & brought full circle back to each other. Great at throwing tournaments into the fold (I love tournaments). Every show (Dynamite, Dark, Dark: Elevation, & Rampage) is important just for the sake of mapping out the division rankings. There is no authority figure coming out every week on TV, running their mouth and wasting the audiences' time. Wrestlers are NOT booked to lose Homecoming matches which is an actual smart move. There is always a clear cut winner & a loser to every match (We don't see Countouts & DQ finishes). The Women's division needs work, but is slowly growing. Putting Paul Wight (Big Show) in a match on PPV is not a good move, and they lose a point for booking something like that, as it is obviously just a cheap excuse to rake in casual WWE fans. UPDATED: I have to take a point away from AEW, as of 2022, they have been making some decisions that I have not liked. The handling of the company's original titles have not looked good (the hot potato treatment of the TNT Title & the World Title, and the constant 3 Way Tag Team Title matches), then they introduce new titles which won't help the situation at all and create an even bigger mess. The bending over backwards for ex-WWE wrestlers (CM Punk, and now Saraya as a Women's Division "Autority Figure"). Doing away with the ranking system because of the mess that has been made of all the titles which kinda tells me that the company has lost a sense of order. They have also ripped off the WWE's Money In The Bank concept now by having MJF run around claiming that he can "cash in" his poker chip at any time for a World Title match. Then there is the constant annoying subtle shots at WWE even though they are starting to steal their ideas. It feels like after 3 years of greatness, Tony Kahn's genius is starting to slip a little. I hope that he can rebound in 2023.

46017.09.2022HairyPotatoman9.0Aew brought me back to wrestling. A mix of serious and silly entertainment offers something for everyone, while constantly delivering high quality wrestling matches. I can't give a 10 as there are some things that need attention (women's division, Rampage sometimes treated as a B show) but it's must see TV and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next, especially with the purchase of Ring of Honor.

46211.09.2022WatschnSebbe5.0Es ist einfach so schade, dass man sich mit der Verpflichtung von CM Punk augenscheinlich selbst ins Knie geschossen hat. 46606.09.2022crs2859.0AEW helped foster a more competitive pro wrestling scene in the United States. Immediately had a talented roster that has only improved with time. One flaw is the lack of leadership and backstage drama that comes with that.

47628.08.2022humanesque9.0AEW booking isn't always perfect, in fact, sometimes certain choices come across as baffling, but there's no promotion in the world I'd rather follow. 49231.07.2022Benwerder8.0Großer AEW Fan! Starke Promotion die besonders durch starkes Wrestling sich auszeichnet. Es wäre mit diesem Weltklasse roster mehr möglich, wenn TK evtl. Noch zusätzliche Writer für mehr Struktur hätte. Trodzdem sehr unterhaltsame Promotion!

49722.07.2022iggymcfly10.0You don't really realize just how great AEW is until you go back and try to watch some of the stuff you used to love from the past. When I was a kid, Attitude Era WWF was the greatest thing ever, but going back now, it seems utterly unwatchable compared to AEW. A few cool moments mixed in with a bunch of shit. This promotion is absolutely the pinnacle of the entertainment form.
49819.07.2022Same Old Same Old9.0Is AEW perfect? No. Does it have its share of issues? Plenty. Would you even consider them stable? Concerningly not. HOWEVER what it is for me in a second chance for North American pro wrestling. You can deny it all you want like one of those no-life cretins who spends all day tweeting negativity at AEW, but the last couple of decades have been stifled by WWE, from hoovering up all the talent, only providing a minor audience with NXT, only to be ruined or never used on the main roster. Now with AEW there is an alternative and it's a damn great one, one that guarantees at least some excited per week and commonly delivers even more than that. It's both fresh and yet old school, sleek yet gritty. They've still got a long way to go but to have this much talent, a dedicated fan base, number 1 cable ratings and encourage the indies further... I'm sorry @WWEnolifeStan247 but that success is undeniable.
