1004.07.2024smashbrotha932610.0Ahh, zero1, my favorite wrestling company next to noah. Where do I start? Well, where else will you see 1/3 of the faces of njpw, a Japanese judoka with legend status, a beefy, Russian soldier, the kayfabe son of bruiser brody (not really the kayfabe son just the character, but i like to think of it that way), a big fat Greco-Roman wrestler, a super charismatic turtle and his tag partner named after Japanese beef, two angry shoot wrestlers, "too old, too cold" yoshiaki Fujiwara, and the badassery of masato tanaka and shinjiro Otani? And on top of that, a show that starts off with TWO CAGE MATCHES IN ONE NIGHT? Only in zero-one, people. And thats just early zero1.. zero1 max had some good matches and talent like ryoji sai being pushed to be a main eventer, and Munenori Sawa's shenanigans as "lingerie mutoh" and Yoshihito Sasaki having fire matches, with basically anyone and all.. but for me, it doesn't feel the same as early zero1. Now, I can't speak on current zero1 as I haven't watched it, but maybe I'll give it a shot someday..

1312.04.2023Ma Stump Puller7.0It really makes me feel sad thinking about ZERO1. A bastion for hard-hitting action in a booming wrestling market, started off great with a couple shaky years mostly held together by Hashimoto, who was a insane draw even by his declining years compared to the 90's, his vision being a company where anyone could pop in and do dates, with no restrictions on what could be thrown together; they end up cooperating with basically every company at the time and while they make good business, they struggle to really have a defining image in the long run. He dies, and the company was never really the same afterwards, having to cling on to anyone and everyone to survive. As such, it's a lot harder to really get someone into the company because they tend to change massively every few years, usually for the worst because they historically don't have good undercard matches and rely on nostalgia acts to boost up cards. Their financial status has been historically always poor, but in recent years they've been particularly under fire. As the last few big acts are starting to bow out (Otani is sadly paralysed as his years of injury caught up to him, Tanaka is 50 and winding down) ZERO1 has never felt so down since Hashimoto's death. Sadly I don't think they are going to bounce back as people are starting to flock to other companies: they might survive as a far smaller promotion, maybe even part-time, but for me the company is starting to really die off. Not to say they've had great events and the idea of a company that anyone can freelance while apart of is a cool idea, but it hasn't ever really worked on paper.

1504.11.2022LIGERISM7.0ZERO1 is a solid company that has had it's fair share of ups and downs. Currently it's on a downward trend but hopefully that picks up soon for them. ZERO1 relies a lot on freelancers and guys from NOAH and BJW to sell tickets and move the needle. You can count on the main events always being good but they need more to keep people coming back. All of the young wrestlers under the ZERO1 umbrella are between solid and very good in the ring but ZERO1 needs to worry about making them marketable. At it's present standing, ZERO1 is a promotion worth dipping into a couple times a year, especially for their big shows. I'm hopeful the tragic injury to Shinjiro Otani won't end up being the deathnail for this company and is something that they can rally around.

1822.07.2022CFOS10.0In my opinion, ZERO1 is the greatest wrestling company ever, they doesn't have the same amount of classic that NJPW, AJPW or NOAH has but they have some many great matches. ZERO1 also started to interest me to discover more Puro indy wrestlers, they brought so many good talents during the years, it's even crazy to think that some wrestlers like Nakamura, Kanemoto, Makabe, Nagata, Kawada ect were there. The NJPW vs ZERO1 feud might be my favourite feud ever, there was so many great matches where NJPW wrestlers went in Z1 and Z1 wrestlers went in NJPW to have amazing matches. There's also a ton of amazing hidden gems who happened in any years that nobody will never know. I can speak all day about ZERO1 but it's just so good, watch ZERO1 if you can, you will not be disappointed.

2601.02.2021KyleWellwood5.0They have lost any talent that made Zero1 worth watching besides Otani and Tanaka in the last 12 months. Still enjoyable when shows do get put out but they are a fraction of the Zero1 from the past.

5104.08.2009Rancor7.0Unterhaltsame Shows und Kämpfe. Sieben Punkte.
