51829.01.2017forkboy9.0It seems slightly shortsighted to rate a company based only on their current product. The WWE is stale, has been poorly booked for years, mismanaging talent and generally just cruising by on the absence of competition. But you're talking about 69 years of wrestling, as Capitol, as WWWF, WWF & now. For better and for worse, the WWE has defined the wrestling business in America for almost 40 years, has had great angles, great workers, great events and it's churlish to pretend otherwise. For most people in the world, WWE IS professional wrestling. So while it's certainly not at it's most interesting right now, viewed under a much broader lense, it might not be my favourite wrestling promotion, but it's certainly one of the best.
51901.03.2024forwardtodeath5.0The fixation on everything being squeaky clean, LED covered, easily marketable and micromanaged to death has made modern WWE feel like nothing unexpected or shocking ever really happens, which if you can recall is what made the company must watch television and a cultural cornerstone from 97 to 04. It's identity completely died and was reborn with the most corporatized stale image that you can imagine and that decision is reflected heavily in the mind-numbing angles, Marvel superhero characters, meaningless matches, no creative freedom, copy pasted sets and literally nauseating visual and audio production. These issues make sitting through a three hour RAW a complete drag for anyone but the indoctrinated. It's not about the product being kid friendly or it not having enough tits and blood, it's simply near impossible to take WWE seriously when they overstimulate the viewer with just about everything but good professional wrestling. There's a reason they haven't made any of their modern talents house hold names or brought wrestling back into the mainstream.

52106.01.2023FrankCostanza695.0Not sure how to rate WWE. On one hand, it's the promotion that got me excited about wrestling during the attitude era, so i have a nostalgic passion for the older stuff. On the other hand, I've not really enjoyed much they've done in the last 10 years outside of some Daniel Bryan stuff. Not to mention that with more access and information regarding their business practices that its pretty offputting and gross. Glad their monopoly has died [down] in the last half decade. Decided to give 'em a 5 and split the difference of youthful exuberance and mature(ish) understanding.

53614.03.2024FuzzGod5.0Roman wins LOL, the story of this company for the past 8 years. They have one of the best rosters in the world but are stationary in who gets the ball. A lot of the wrestlers on their roster have grinded years to get to that point just for them to be in a purgatory of multi-month feuds or being used in a squash match for the flavors of the month. It makes it feel like 80% of their roster can't win a match.

54216.09.2020Gathawk2.0WWE is what's wrong with today's wrestling. Apart from NXT (which wasn't that interesting for me lately), most of the matches, storylines and characters are boring, bland and subpar at best. Very poor booking decisions, holding back wrestlers that could become huge stars, god forbid if they get over on their own. Definitely the most important company in the history as it helped wrestling reach the mainstream, a lot of classic feuds, characters, matches, especially in Ruthless Aggression era, although getting worse and worse since around 2005. I'm thankful to DubDubE for introducing me to pro wrestling, unfortunately their product becomes more dull every year.

54707.02.2024GhassaneJabri2.0The one fed that people outside of Europe and the Americas keep hearing of. Now that I've spent 8 sporadic years keeping an eye on WWE, I'm very confident in saying that it has become one of my least favorite feds of all time despite it becoming much more competent during Triple H's era. Here are my issues with this fed: 1) Their roster is incredible, but they don't know how to use all of them to their fullest potential, and they also decide who we should care about (that 2019 "You are the authority" promo keeps getting funnier each year) based on morals and tales that are so out of touch. Also, it is outright embarrassing that they keep releasing talent while they keep breaking making a fuck ton of money. 2) Why do they hate tag team wrestling so much? The level of quality of WWE's tag team scene goes as following, one step forward, 5 steps back. Look no further than the booking at any given year for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. None of the tag teams who won these belts feel like they excel in ring psychology, same goes for the movesets, they don't feel inspiring. There's no need to give a spotlight to tag team wrestling if they're not going to treat it with the importance it deserves. 3) The Saudi Arabia partnership. Need I say more? 4) The biggest focus is the E in WWE, case in point, Akira Tozawa vs Ricochet sounds like a dream match for anyone who saw them in New Japan, but nobody would give a donkey's shit about them wrestling in WWE, because it is a perpetual glorified TV show that emphasizes on characters and storylines much more than workrate and performances. However, the one saving grace from that specific complaint has been Gunther, and I hope he keeps thriving as the upcoming unstoppable final boss. 5) PPV non-finishes, it is non only insulting to the viewer's intelligence but also to his/her money. Why would you do that? 6) Final point, it is absolutely unnecessary for WWE to ever book no-DQ matches. These matches are far too pedestrian, and their level of creativity along with the PG-type restrictions make it impossible for the matches to showcase any shock value nor entertainment. Thankfully, I've discovered other wrestling companies who seem to do fine with this type of match. That's it, I'm tired of writing about them. There's no reason for anyone who cares about professional wrestling to invest into this company in any way, because they themselves have made it obvious that they're too focused on an E more than a W.

55221.03.2017Glover4.0There's really too much to say about WWE in the characters allowed, so I'll say this: They're the largest by a mile, they can bring a great spectacle, they have an incredible roster, and when something falls together right it feels GREAT because of the platform. That said, they have squandered and fucked way too many talents, as well as done some pretty shady stuff, even by wrestling standards. The product has had a lot more bad than good in its decades of existence, and nothing but management can be ultimately blamed for a good portion of it. With WWE, you take what good you get and ignore the rest, and try not to give them your money.

57106.02.2022GriffinX4.0On the one hand WWE is the biggest company for so many fans the company they grew up with that made them fans. On the other hand no company has done more to hurt wrestling (even show shame at the term) then WWE. I really do feel in 2022 WWE's 3 TV show aren't just the worst wrestling shows on TV but the worst shows on all of TV for now its a 4 and that is me being nice

58125.06.2023Gus126.0What is there left to say about WWE. The most hot and col wrestling promotion of all time, insulting and pointless at its worst but sensational and timeless at its best. Its been with me for 14 years of my life and despite constant bad decisions and moments that make watching it feel utterly pointless, I can never leave it behind for long. Cause its WWE no matter what happens it'll bring you back in eventually.
B. 2 World Champs gibt.

59204.02.2017Harak6.0Man, between some of their fanboys who have eyes only on Reigns and who says to anyone that insults him that they're just jealous and some childish haters who insults anyone who likes the WWE and who says that they're killing wrestling without even truly understand what it means, the WWE is pretty unlucky from a point of view. This can maybe being the reason why their booking sucks (at Raw at least): they're, somehow, trying to make the indy fan being happy ( with KO being world champion) but they try to keep their old fans ( with KO's booking being the whiny heel's one) and the fact that they absolutly want a babyface powerhouse as the face of the company ( although the guy is pretty much made to be a heel). That's their biggest problem: they are trying WAY to much to be between the two sides! I understand that they are a big company and that there are a lot of unknown at choosing to be completly at one side but i don't think that continuing with this strategy will be prolific. Thankfully, there is Smackdown ( which is way less between the sides and has actually more new ideas than raw when it comes to booking) and NXT ( which, although it's not as good as it used to be, is still pretty damn good). So, even if they aren't as good as other promotions and that they have a lot of flaws, i still think it's okay and i don't think it's that bad ( for now at least ).

They are so imbreded in the history of wrestling it would be not right not to be given i high score just based on the New Generation, and the Attitude Era alone as well as being what North American wrestling was based on since 1999. I'm not a fan of todays product as a whole or some of their business practices but to say they are not among one of the best organizations of all time would be a lie.
