11126.12.2023XENOM9.0personally i think wwe is the best its been in a long while, many people dropped off and moved over to aew around 2020 when it was on a slow decline but now with triple h in control it has risen backup in the last year, shame so many people still have a negative opinion despite not having watched it in 6 years
11225.12.2023Allie8.0Growing up on WWE has made a lot of fond memories for me... my first ever wrestling show, getting to go to shows with my grandfather and the core memory of going to WrestleMania! I stopped watching late 2019 and through 2019-2022 I really didn't watch much wrestling, mostly because every time I would see what WWE was doing I just didn't care for. I picked it back up after Mania 38 and I've on the train since. I felt like this year for WWE, and just wrestling in general, has been fantastic. While the months from July to October felt like the quality dropped, it definitely ended strong. It's made me super excited for what they have planned for next year, and I can't wait.

11423.12.2023Chris7777.0A tough one to rate as always and especially this year, because It's three shows all together. First the main roster, for better or the worst, the product has definitely changed in the last two years, being more match oriented. The weekly shows are still very much troppy but in a slightly different way. RAW is still unwatchable being three hours so i can really only speak on Smackdown. The flow of the show itself has actually gotten worse? like there is less engagement for the audience to keep watching till the end. On the other hand, overall storylines became a lot more engaging, so it makes a pretty good experience just wanting PPVs. 6 out of 10 would be fair. Now NXT. This should go down the record of possibly the best NXT years ever. Even the best Black and Gold, the weekly shows are rather bland. after a few years of finding its position, NXT has become such a densely packed show full of interesting angles crisscrossing with excellent tv matches. Not a single PPV has been a flop, battleground being one of the best this year. Especially considering the quality of talent they are working with, it's honestly a miracle. We look at the rise of Dragunov, Trick Williams, The Creeds, Valkaria, Stratton, Dragon Lee, Thea Hail, etc, they rarely stay on something, rather headstrong at moving on to create the next big thing. A lot of them are getting put into the main roster, and judging from people thinking these homemade talents are being underutilized as if they are Sami Zayn and Cesaro, that's truly a success. I would go out a limp to say that people sent from the main roster has hurt the product more than helping. Stay in their line, and NXT might get a 10/10, now it's still a 9/10.

13320.11.2023Tasmo128.0This year so far, WWE has been at it's highest in terms of storytelling or matches since 2016. More stars are being made and now there are more likeable babyfaces with better stories and factions have been given care and more love like Judgment Day. RAW has been good, NXT has been amazing and SmackDown has been good as well. They never really get horrible at all. A fire year from WWE and I'm excited to see what happens next!

14007.11.2023skyesversion7.0WWE is a hard one to rank. As someone who has only watched from the PG Era onward, I'm a huge fan. But if we're talking like Attitude or Ruthless Aggression Era, I only know a handful of it. I mean, overall I love WWE and always will. But they haven't been that good recently. It's just something about it that's throwing me off a bit. I don't know. But it'll always have a special place in my heart so idk.

14602.11.2023Okaro1438.0Since 2020, WWE has started pushing new faces, new stars and are trying to tell better storytelling and the improvements has been very noticeable. The 2010s were Messy and incoherent, they were boring and it was a bunch of old recycled stuffs and that includes many of the wrestlers but 2020s are more well structured, Stars are finally getting the push that they deserve. In 2023, RAW has been great: Rollins has been a fighting Champion, the crowd loves him, he has challengers on all sides; The midcard scene has also improved a lot with Gunther booked like the monster Champ he is, there are also familiar faces like Gable, Otis, Miz etc.; Also, Judgement Day has truly broke out as the dominant faction. RAW has seen a huge rise in acclaim, the booking has been better and the rise of new stars is welcomed. In contrary, SmackDown has fallen, LA Knight and Iyo Sky are the only breakout stars and even Iyo isn't booked that hot but her ring work has added much credibility, everything else is barely average; Roman is scarcely around, he has defended his Title only 4 times in 2023 at the time of writing this comment, he will defend it a 5th time at Crown Jewel which is probably gonna be his last defense for 2023, Of his 5 defenses, 3 were during WrestleMania so, he has defended his Title only twice after WM season, but he has competed in two huge tag team bouts so it kinda evens out a tiny bit but we should expect more of the Universal Champion; US Championship hasn't been good despite Rey Mysterio being the Champion. On the other hand, NXT like RAW has seen a huge improvement, new faces are being pushed, the matches are better, main roster stars comes to promote the development show once every while but the roster always shines. Bumping up a point for overall improvement, wish SmackDown was as good as 2022 like the Bloodline Sami story, hopefully things do get better.

15518.10.2023Jambo8.0Two-three years ago, I would've given WWE probably 5 points, because the product was in a really bad shape for at least 10 years at that point. They had good wrestling mostly on PLE's, but most of their Stories and their weekly shows were often times pretty dreadful. Ever since HHH was in charge, the product has drastically improved, the storytelling has been really good and the weekly shows have become entertaining. It's really refreshing to see them not rushing things and slowly build up stories and feuds. They try to make every PLE feel special, doesn't matter if it's just a small PLE. I can't remember when they last had so many over Babyfaces, like this time around, and didn't need to rely on Legends, who were past their prime. What should be improved is the booking of the womens division. I think there's still so much potential to unfold. Raw being 3 hours will probably never change, but watching a 3 hour show on linear Television, doesn't matter if it's a great show, is still pretty hard to watch.

15715.10.2023theeternalsovereign8.0What is there to be said that hasnt already been said about the pioneer of professional wrestling. In recent years the company has fallen far from its former glory but with the ousting of Vince Mcmahon and more creative control for Hunter Helmsley booking is improving and the superstars that genuingly have crowd pull and talent are finally getting spotlight. In time this promotion could gain more rating points but with the best matches and talent being on NXT and not the main roster it seems a better rating for WWE may be a few years out. In recent years WWE has become drab with an oversaturation of bland meaningless PPVs. Implementing more gimmick based match types will greatly improve viewer count as will televising events that are out of the country. The higher than average turnover rate has been a significant detriment to the company and hopefully with Hunter manning the helm (pun intended) this will be corrected.

16403.10.2023benny5bellys6.0Almost impossible to rate in the big scheme of things but that won't stop me trying. New Generation era is when I first started watching wrestling and gave me the bug, Attitude Era was perfect as I hit my teenage years but outside of the iconic moments I do not think it holds up to my current tastes even ignoring the stuff that has aged badly. Modern WWE is everything I do not want in pro wrestling, over produced, catch phrase central, simplified wrestling with the most easily impressed audience in wrestling history although it appears competently booked for the first time in 20 years. They still have incredibly talented performers but I just wish it was in a setting that made me want to watch them more. That is before we get to the elephants in the room in terms of multiple credible accusations against Vince and their sportwashing of one of the most morally bankrupt regimes on earth. Think about who are giving your money too and pirate their show instead if you do insist on watching.

17025.09.2023charliefiction6.0Whether it's a function of their booking/promotional style or their audience's insatiable appetite for nostalgia, you can't deny that the WWE is the best wrestling company in the world when it comes to "star-making." It's a personal preference, but I find most of the match layouts to be over-produced and the promos to be noticeably inauthentic so the quality of their weekly television continues to lag behind other promotions. With that said, their PPVs usually deliver due to atmosphere and production acumen. Their commitment to the Bloodline and Judgment Day stories makes the week-to-week commitment to their programming a bit of a predictable slog, but the booking is coherent enough that you can overlook some quibbles. Even if the emphasis on in-ring work as increased since Triple H took over booking, it still falls short of providing wrestlers with the type of ecosystem needed to see them thrive.

17215.09.2023UNINTELLIGIBLE To write about The Fed is to write about pro wrestling as a whole, because, good or bad, like it or not, without it there would be no pro wrestling to speak of today. It is the inevitable baseline, the default, the universal public consciousness of Wrestling; it is not the mainstream, it is the man-made ocean that all rivers, streams and tributaries stem from and return to. It's where the money is, and when it is gone so too will go the money, possibly (likely) forever. But was it fun to watch? Yeah, then no, then hell yes, then not as much, then only sorta, and now, not really.

18104.09.2023staabi2hotty8.0WWE has been the top guys for a long time now, and there has been times where they have made horrible foul mistakes, had segments age very poorly, some of the worst things in wrestling history have happened in the WWE (Brawl for All, Owen Hart's death, all the bad scandals) But even with all that they still remain to be the top company. The characters were cartoony at times with horrible gimmicky characters in the early and mid 90s, mid 00s, and even now with how some NXT talents have looked recently. Vince McMahon has always had his hand over this company and while he was cooking in the late 90s many including I would say he started really losing his touch in the late 00s or so. WWE has some of the most iconic moments in wrestling history and that's why I cant rate them any lower but I can't say they are perfect either.. If you like more cinematic storylines (Not Lucha Underground level but solid) and aren't as much of a mark for the wrestling, WWE is for you.

18302.09.2023bigfanbigfan5.05 just seems like a perfect score for WWE. They're the industry leader for going on 40 years, but it feels like for every great moment and match you have months, sometimes even years, of them under delivering. It just makes it not worth watching consistently at any point in the company's history. They have done a great job curating their extensive catalog. They don't have any hidden gems left to mine. Any best of list is going to have plenty worth watching. That said there are a lot of widely loved matches that I don't think stand up without being already invested in the characters. As mentioned, it's just not worth your time to keep up week to week, so I never really developed connections to their top stars, which I think makes a lot of their stuff age worse. A Hogan squash match is good turn off your brain fun, but an allegedly better wrestler Shawn Michaels has incredibly dull body of work compared to his peers outside of the WWE.

18522.08.2023ajfromcastlebar10.0Whether or not the WWE/WWF is the best wrestling company is deeply debatable but it certainly can't be understated what the WWE did for the pro wrestling industry. To the point where nowadays it seems like every western wrestling company is trying to harken back to things they either messed up badly and promptly try to fix WWE's mistakes or see what they did successfully and try and replicate it. I think a company that influential no matter what it does deserves a 10/10 score.

19017.08.2023jay12ka48.0The weeklies still have a lot of room for improvement but they still aren't a chore to sit through. I get the vision now, the weeklies are used to build towards the PPV with a lot of strong storytelling, solid segments and character development. The PPV's have been nothing but extraordinary and very consistent. Earlier I made it sound like the weeklies don't have watchable matches but that is what has changed a lot of the episodes have strong wrestling and storyline progression but there are some others where they lack in both. But still they have been going strong for a while now. I have never enjoyed it as much as I have been doing for the past few months.
19112.08.2023SC3168.0I said in my AEW rating that the actual wrestling is more important to me and that is still true, but a match can always be elevated by the story outside of the ring which is where WWE excels. The storytelling and "character creations" of the WWE is next to none. WWE is less concerned with what happens inside the ring, which for a lot of people including me really hurts their product, but you cant ignore the amount of iconic stories and characters WWE has created. Macho Man, Roman, Cena, Rock, Austin, Hogan (eugh), Undertaker and the list could go forever. Although they are no longer in their prime, WWE is still able to produce many stars and compelling stories. They have some of the most charismatic and talented athletes in the world, so even if you're not the biggest fan WWE will always be prevalent in the world of wrestling for a long time to come. All the upside does come with some down. The inring work on their weekly programming is VERY rough currently. They have such great talent but refuse to let them wrestle more than 5 minutes unless youve been around forever. Stories too often start and stop within a week and then the talent involved wont appear for a few weeks. They are also quite narrowly sighted currently. Most talent has to get their feuds over mainly on social media since theyre given no time on TV to speak. WWE is very much its own brand of wrestling based on stories and characters.

Hence why they coined the "sports entertainment" term. The exclusion to this is NXT, showcasing what their talent is capable of, delivering some of the best matches the promotion has delivered.
