[6.0] "Bonkers roster drags up an otherwise mediocre game for me. Seriously, whoever thought you'd find Lizmark Jr. in a video game. Or Bobby Blaze? For that alone, it's a novelty worth playing at least once or twice, even if it's not great, mechanically."
[4.0] "Commentary was good for it's time and the roster was good. That's about it. This game stunk. Bad controls, really bad character design and really bad gameplay."
[8.0] "The game has decent graphics for those times and perhaps excellent comments by Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan, the game really looks like a TV show in some sense and absolutely all the arenas of that time, but I was confused by ONE drawback ... I mean that a very weak set for creation of wrestlers in the sense that it is boring and small + there are absolutely no female wrestlers in the game, or at least to be able to create girls, this fact probably only confuses me... you need to get used to the control system! and so I can say that you might like the game if you are still a fan of WCW"
[5.0] "I had this on PS1 & GBC. I'll start with the PS1 version first since I remember that one better. I remember the graphics looking rater chunky and bad, worse than the N64 WCW games I felt. I remember the moves being akward to execute (unless I was just bad? which could also be highly likely! ) and slow. The momentum bar confused me. Nice to have a full WCW roster for once, instead of random characters. I found the championship mode difficult, only reaching the TV Title - which was the first time I remember seeing that particular title in a game. GBC version I don't remember so well. I just remember giant heads and jumping out of the ring and heading backstage - which you could also do in the PS1 version aswell course. Good for a GameBoy Wrestling game, didn't have many different match types. But I remembered having fun with it and completing it. I feel 5 is fine for both. Average games, but fun could be have with them."
[7.0] "Gutes WCW Spiel.
[6.0] "This game was quite ok. Still better than WCW Backstage Assualt. I remember how I pre order this game back in day. The commercial's were very exciting. But I never liked the graphics that much, or the confusing controls. Even though this game had some cool features in it, I still don't like how every wrestler looked like he stand's like a dog on two feets... The THQ WCW games for PlayStation 1 were trillion times better than this. The cheats very funnier, the graphics were better, these game had runs, which Mayhem lacks, no Faction changes, but good sounds. With not doubt this game had the best voice action of all wrestling games of all time. Heenan, Schiavone, Zyszko and Teenay have done a epic work fo this game."
[6.0] "Not bad, not great, its a okay game. It had great commentary. (best in any wrestling game ever! ) Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan are great in this game! The graphics were okay, the wrestler models looked good, but there movement are weird. Everybody is standing like a T-Rex. xD Also is this the time when WCW was starting to going downhill. The worst thing is are the arenas, the all looked to small and simliar. Also is there no differents if you picked Road Wild or Nitro. Every Event was in the same arena, just sets and mat logs are changed. In contrast to WCW nWo Thunder, where all events were authentically presented in their real arenas and Road Wild in the real Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, which unfortunately is NOT the case in WCW Mayhem. The roster was good, nearly every star and jobber was in. Even Chris Jericho who left WCW for WWF months before this game came out is even still in this game. For a WCW-Diehard and ps1 retro fan this game is this game is worth a look. There are much worse wrestling games like WCW Backstage Assault or WWE 2K20. But also much better ones. In the case of good wrestling games for PlayStation: WCW Nitro, WCW/nWo Thunder, WWF SmackDown 1 + 2, WWE SD: Shut Your Mouth, HCTP, WWE 2K14. Are one thing also don't like is that all wrestlers only have one attire. (despite Rey Mysterio Jr. and Billy Kidman) Especially Hollywood Hogan is wearing sunglasses, his nWo shirt and bandana during a match which is weird and just wrong. For me the best WCW game of all time still is WCW Nitro, but Mayhem has also his moments. But WCW Nitro is when WCW was at his best, and alone for this reason i prefer WCW Nitro to WCW Mayhem."
[10.0] "First wrestling game I ever played! Played the hell out of this growing up! I know the game gets a lot of flack for the way the wrestlers stand and stuff, but it was just such a cool game and holds a special place in my heart. I loved the creation suite for this game and how you could fight in the bathroom and use the sink as a weapon along with the over-sized taser! Story Mode was pretty great as well. If it weren't for this game, I wouldn't be a wrestling fan."
[6.0] "An okay game. This is when WCW started to go downhill in the ratings and its popularity. The graphics were getting better for this game and its time. The action is exciting. The interference part sucks how the fuck do you not have this option. The Best for Quest is great. The music is so-so."
[9.0] "A really fun to me notable for many to me the extremely random roster, one of the wrestling games to commentary, the the match types, backstage arena, arenas, and maybe the most strange the ability to create wrestlers that can be invisible."
