[7.0] "Fine main event. Seemingly focused around Mari and Act feuding. Great ending sequences with a great splash even though Narus knees connected more with Yamanakas body rather than Narus torso whether intended or not."

[6.0] "I liked this. It was full of action and while the Mei/Lady C stuff took too much of the time, it was still a quality match overall. I wish the end was better, but oh well. 6.5/10"

[10.0] "Incredible episode of Dynamite and a perfect reboot of the show. Swerve came out and immediately felt like the man. He is the top babyface in the company and he feels ready for the world championship. Him and Joe felt like it built some heat and they moved away from Hangman pretty well. The Kingdom felt like geeks here but it was about the stars and Wardlow. Swerve's hot tag sequence felt like mega star stuff. Brian Cage and Hook was a blast. Killswitch vs. Menard was alright but Adam Copeland's return was cool. The debut of Okada was a HOT moment and him joining the Elite was a brilliant swerve. What an exciting set of possibilities. Riho vs. Kris Statlander was the best AEW women's match this year and a nice refreshing departure from Toni Storm madness. The main event was just amazing though and AEW has something special in Will Ospreay and it feels like they can take it all the way. I jumped out of my seat when Bryan came out. Give me all of that. The whole change in presentation and everything just made this feel like exciting television. I am ready for this AEW."

[10.0] "Perfect fight between both. It was a very good twenty minutes, where they both had great chemistry to put up a great battle. Great synchrony in the movements between both with correct sequences and coherence, something that is important in a fight. The ending was poetic and a story was told above the ring between the two, so it was a very good fight. The end? From another planet with Ospreay and Danielson. Everything perfect. It has been one of the best fights on a weekly AEW show in a long time."

[4.0] "Kind of meandering hardcore match with not many big moments that came off well. Hook still isn't there yet despite all the uproar over the Joe match from months ago. This was pretty basic in its ambitions and still managed to under deliver I thought. Given the plunder and gimmick stip it should be an easy layup for Hook and Cage has all the indieriffic abilities to help with that but at the end of the day he's still just too green at this moment. I did appreciate Cage cosplaying as King though, that was cool."

[2.0] "A lot of issues with this match. First off, the repeated losing of ROH Champions on AEW TV. Three champions lost on this show. The ROH champions barely appear on their own show now they are losing when they appear on the more watched show. Easily avoidable booking that makes those titles look so secondary. Neither are the first instances as seen with Yuta losing in January to Kingston as well as Kingston taking losses. Taven and Bennett are a good team and it makes them look worse by losing to a team that has never teamed together In a short match where most of it took place during the commercial. Nobody else was available if wanting Swerve and Joe to get a win? Why would they even team at all? A largely middling match made worse by unnecessary booking. The Undisputed kingdom continues to look like a middling group despite holding three titles and booking like this does them no favors. 2023 was already the worst year that those tag titles have ever had and this only did more damage."

[3.0] "Incredibly uncreative reasoning for this match but it was a total squash for Swerve and Joe as it should have been. Swerve got the big hot tag and looked great then Joe choked him out after to keep that feud fresh and then set up the Wardlow match which thank God is taking place next week instead of being dragged out any longer and getting in the way of Swerve's crowning. Taven and Bennett looked bland here and the ROH titles don't need protecting but wow how could anyone take the brand seriously after that."

[2.0] "This should've been a banger but they did not seem to be on the same page early on and when it came back from commercial they did a bit better but still seemed way too slow and unsure of themselves for some of these moves. Statlander kept hitting Riho with suplexes and it barely had any effect on her at all. Maybe they were rushed for time but it really under serves the power moves in a match that's all about the power moves on a smaller opponent. Just didn't feel this one at all and was surprised they didn't click."

[9.0] "I loved the women's fight, it has been a long time since I liked a fight between two women so much and the incredible thing was that the public reacted throughout the fight and in a very loud way. I found that there was great synchronicity between both, good chemistry and the movements made during the fight were correct, executed correctly and that made sense of the chronology of each one. One of the best women's fights in AEW so far, it could take any other fight that Queen Aminata has been involved in, but this one is not far behind. 9/10."

[8.0] "Good match that felt like it was trying really hard to be great but the circumstances just weren't there for it and you can't force those kinds of things. A great showing for both men though as they get their feet planted firmly into AEW. You could argue Will Ospreay shouldn't be taking 19 minutes to beat Kyle Fletcher but the audience for AEW is what it is at this point and they might as well lean into it I guess. We'll see if it pays off in the long term but it's hard to complain with good matches like this."

[10.0] "Great show today. It starts from low to high, but the last hour of the show was fantastic. I felt a little slow at the beginning, but I still liked it and they tried a new technique of setting up a fight in an improvised way. Honestly, I had never seen it in AEW and I feel that it worked well with the public, I hope they continue to do it like this, I feel that it is a breath of fresh air in programming. The initial fight was short and precise, it was not a big deal, but not horrible as some describe it. The fight between Hook vs Brian Cage was good, very fun with great spots during the fight. The Killswitch squash doesn't need to be commented on, but I loved the later segment too much with Adam Copeland and Christian. I loved the women's fight, it has been a long time since I liked a fight between two women so much and the incredible thing was that the public reacted throughout the fight and in a very loud way. Okada's presentation was very well executed, I never expected him to make a heel turn, it was very unexpected. The main event was perfect! Incredible fight between Fletcher and Ospreay, perfect execution of the movements, great chemistry and good synchronicity in every way. The end? From another planet with Ospreay and Danielson. Everything perfect. 10/10."

[10.0] "AEW has had a majority of good to great Dynamite shows thus far this year in 2024 (aside from maybe 2 shows). And already this one may have overtaken other best dynamites of the year (and in some cases ever according to some) already. No bad in ring matches, only match even close to being bad arguably was the Killswitch squash match but its a squash match so there isnt much expected anyways. The opener was fine enough, the FTW match I enjoyed and the last two matches I thought were good. Aside from that great debuts in Okada and all elite Ospreays Dynamite debut. The segment with Copeland returning and chasing Christian was great. The ending after match spot with Danielson and Ospreay was a great ending to hype people up. Coming out of this show we have multiple feuds or paths coming up including great potential matches in Okada/Kingston and Dragon/Will. Makes me excited for future shows which has been something that has been somewhat lacking for a while."

[9.0] "One of the best womens matches in recent Dynamite history. Statlander almost never misses, and Riho rekindled some of her early AEW work. The entire match was a good pace, with rhe closing stages really frantic and exciting, Stat is on a poor run at the moment and itll be interesting to see how the dynamic with Stokely will change in the coming weeks. Hopefully Rihos appearances are more of a regular thing in the coming weeks and months. These two are a perfect example of the depth in the division now, made the most of their 10 minutes for sure"

[10.0] "Will Ospreay vs Kyle Fletcher carries the weight of many stories that have been told in multiple companies for years. For starters I believe Kyle Fletcher is proving and has proven yet again he can hang with the big boys. Hes now had Omega, Danielson and Ospreay with each time looking like he belongs. The future is bright. Will Ospreay on weekly TV is going to be a treat. He truly is one of a kind and this match had me I. The edge of my seat constantly. There were moments where we almost forget the friendship these guys share as they are beating the holy hell out of one another."

[2.0] "That's why I don't like pre-shows. Just a bunch of highlights for the main show matches (if it was only this, I would probably give it a 6 or 7) and two of the most confusing and poorly constructed matches matches anyone could ever think of. The 12 men was a little enjoyable, I will give it a little bit of credit, but with a awful ending. But the trag match was just bad, I mean Willow and Statlander are two of the best women in AEW, but today they just didn't click. Blue and Hart just can't do it. I still don't understand why Hart is still the TBS champ. The only reason I didn't give it a 0 it's because I like the duo of Paquette/City and I felt wonderfully nostalgic watching the Schiavone/Crockett duo once again."

[4.0] "To say I was worried for the fate of this show following this match and entire segment would be an understatement. On a fundamental standpoint this entire segment did many things that I actually despise in wrestling. These impromptu matches never really work in AEW and in reality they just never make any sense. The match itself does no justice to the roh tag champions. Another day where the champions are booked weak. Can swerve and Samoa Joe co-exist? ! ? ! Felt like a weak house show match. Swerve hitting the griddy gave this score a +1. Swerve being a face now is a look in the right direction. Samoa Joe has been a good champion but this was just a dreadful start to this new era of dynamite."

[] "I would argue Undertaker is a 5 because from 2014-2020 all of his matches were below average and at worst bad. Besides some of the Mania classics, Undertaker doesn't have many classics in his belt and is mostly carried by better wrestlers. We have to consider the bulk of his matches instead of cherry-picking a few matches, from the unbearable raw main events in the 90s, the mostly horrible feuds he had on Smackdown in the mid-2000s, to when looking at his famous Mania matches most of which are not good."

[3.0] "About as slow and awkward as you'd expect considering the age of most of the men involved. Gilbert, Christopher, and the Express were passable here but Funk and Lawler were another story. Their punches looked great as always but they both botched their signature piledrivers on a few occasions. Lawler's promo before the match was decent at least."

[6.0] "This match had about as poor of an opening technical sequence as one could have, as Statlander moved glacially slow, leaving Riho to awkwardly wait on her opponent during her mat work. It was obvious throughout that Kris wasn't doing well aside from her power spots. Thankfully, they structured the rest of the match around Statlander throwing Riho around, so this did pick up as it continued. For her part, Riho looked great, moving at as fast and precise a pace as ever. Obviously the main purpose of this match was to further Statlander's storyline, which they did in a fine but fairly routine manner. At least ***, maybe ***1/4"

[4.0] "The saddest part about this match is that I feel Truth's heel gimmick had promise here. But this match didn't do him any favors, and didn't make him feel like he belonged in the main event scene. It's just an insanely basic match that moves at a snail's pace. No one is doing anything impressive, and it feels like these guys are just putting themselves through their paces. If you watch this match, I don't think you'll remember a single thing that stuck with you an hour after it finishes. It is that unremarkable. This wasn't great for Cena, and cemented Truth's place on the card. It was a pretty poor main event to a PPV, too. I don't quite know that I'd say it was a Raw/Smackdown match, but it wasn't the quality you'd expect from a WWE title PPV match."

[8.0] "While I think 10 is rather steep this was a really good episode of Dynamite. The last hour was incredible. The arrow is definitely pointing up. Okadas debut was amazing. I did not expect him to join the elite. That was an amazing swerve. What more can be said about Osprey and that main event, holy crap. That was a pay per view level match on free tv. Even Hook and Cage was good and lets not forget Standlander and Riho. This was a great way to get the post Revolution era of AEW going. Im now more and more excited for next week"
1253407.03.2024

[6.0] "A satisfactory match with a decent, if a bit disappointing, result. I like Riho, I really do. But I'm not sure why Statlander keeps losing matches lately. She's one of the best they've got and I feel like she'd be best served in the hunt for the AEW Women's Championship held by Toni Storm after a very good TBS title reign. Riho goes 2-0 against Stat in a match multiple years in the making, and Statlander seems to be feuding with... Stokely Hathaway. Alright I suppose. Hopefully that is the spark that recovers her momentum and puts her in the mix with Storm, Purrazzo, and probably Mercedes Mone."

[10.0] "It's Will Ospreay, it's Kyle Fletcher, it's a 19+ minute main event - of course it's fantastic. Including this one, 9 of the last 10 Ospreay matches have ranged from awesome to outright legendary. It's almost scary how far ahead of the field he has gotten. But this was no one man show - both he and Fletcher were insanely quick, crisp, and explosive in this one. Fletcher has made the most out of every chance he has been given in AEW, and it should only be a matter of a couple years before he becomes one of the top guys in wrestling. ****3/4"

Only a month later these same teams would have a match that you very much can call a 5 star classic, so just watch this one and then watch that one."

[10.0] "This match might not start out at a million miles an hour, and at no point are they doing a million spots and dives, but the intensity toward the end of the match is nigh unbeatable. The heat that the Midnight Express get on Bobby Fulton is nuclear, the beatdown they administer to this guy is crazy gripping. Seriously give this match a try, it'll suck you right in. Revision: 10/10 (previous score 9/10) This match is seriously an all time classic. It's not paced at breakneck speed like a lot of modern matches, but even when the action is "slower" or less visually stimulating, the tension and excitement is constantly building. All four wrestlers (and Jim Cornette) are not only great in-ring workers, with convincing offense and impressive selling, but they also expertly utilize the fundamental building blocks of a wrestling match to create an engaging and compelling bout that stands as a landmark of tag-team wrestling."

[5.0] "I find the Undisputed Kingdom to be a very cold faction in AEW right now. This was a functional match that, if nothing else, served to give Swerve a lot of momentum heading into a rematch with Samoa Joe, which should lead to a Swerve victory. Strickland is very over with the fans as a babyface, and ready for the main-event picture. Joe got his trademark spots in. The ROH Tag Team Champions being more or less fed to Swerve makes me wonder what is happening with ROH. Wardlow gets his title match next week, and I guess he's losing, but I imagine he's a vehicle for Adam Cole to kick him out of the group after. Alright then."

[7.0] "Good match, but the Miz brings this down for me. He doesn't bring anything to the match, other than being the champion and being apart of the ending which I am really mixed on. Other than the Miz, everything else about this match is great as Owens, Zayn and Cesaro have incredible chemistry together."

[7.0] "A match that, while very good, had the unfortunate circumstance of having to go this long on a show that was already running on overtime. Will, respectfully, I don't think you need to wrestle every single match like it's a PPV main event. Sometimes if you save it for the biggest stages, the spots will mean more. Regardless, a very well-worked match between two very great workers. I'd say it's worthy of being ran back on a bigger stage, where time isn't as big of a factor as it was here on this show. While the result wasn't in doubt, I bit on a few of Fletcher's nearfalls, especially considering the overtime. Overall, I'd say this is a solid ***3/4."

[10.0] "While that was not a perfect dynamite, especially the first hour, that was the aew I fell in love with. Having 3 good-great matches on free tv while having great angles that deftly can dove tail into several storylines throughout the next months while also getting me excited about next week by just dropping an image of the two greatest wrestlers working today staring each other down to close the show on a hell of a cliffhanger. Hook cage was dumb fun, kris riho shows why both of these women need to be on tv every week wrestling and ospreay kyle was the start of ospreay trying to kill his body every tv taping because he never goes below a 120% because he wants the fans who came to see him get their money worth."

[] "Incredible episode of Dynamite. I started loving the Elite in New Japan, then when they left my love for NJPW was continued in many ways thanks to Okada, White, and Ospreay. Having them all on a normal episode of dynamite and not as special guests felt so good. Seeing Okada in the Elite is great. Swerve is so over, he is incredible. Jay White and Darby with an incredible segment. So much good action and stories. Excellent. The new set looks great and the new music makes it feel fresh. They kept saying this would be the beginning of a new season and era and they were right. This felt like a transition into something great."

[8.0] "This is the best AEWs womens match in Im not sure how long. Likely months, although, there have been some solid to good matches on television in 2024; shoutout Queen Aminata and Mariah May. There is no surprise that this great match involved Riho and Kris Statlander. It was a familiar format in David vs. Goliath with Riho demonstrating how perfect of a babyface she is. It is amazing to see the reactions Riho gets despite her infrequent appearances. Stat dominated and set up Riho nicely for her comeback and a high speed, strong final stretch."

[10.0] "This is exactly what I want to watch on television. Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher gave a PPV match on Dynamite. This harkens back to the old days where Kenny Omega would put on PPV matches regularly on Dynamite. The roster is so good now, it's no longer acceptable to be good. You need to be great, and Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher were great. The near falls, the moves, it was all the kind of amazing Wrestle Kingdom style match that I most enjoy watching. Perhaps others don't care for this style as much, but it is my JAM"

[10.0] "Fantastic show, top 5 Dynamite to me. Started off strong with Swerve promo, Samoa Joe, moving from a promo directly into a match as a tag against the Undisputed Error. Hook and Brian Cage led an insane hardcore FTW match, Young Bucks cutting parody style promos, then heading out to the ring which led the debut of corporate Kazuchika Okada, officially joining The Elite after the Bucks ousted Kenny Omega and Hangman Page. Riho and Kris Statlander followed this with a hard hitting fast paced match which kept the crowd locked in with chants and excitement. Finally, Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher put on a PPV main event match as the main event of Dynamite - the crowd broke out into chants countless times, and the electrifying energy of the match, paired with Bryan Danielson coming out to tease a future match with Ospreay had the show leaving on a feeling of "can't miss" for next week. Tonight's AEW felt like old AEW. The feeling is back!"

A wonderful main event, a brilliant debut and subsequent heel turn, an absolute abundance of story progression, a cracking Statlander v Riho match, and a thoroguhly enjoyable no DQ match between Hook and Brian Cage were the highlights. The Bucks brilliant heel work was on show again, Swerve is the hottest thing in the company for a couple of years, Darby and Jay White made their match next week feel huge. Im sure Im missing something, but the show was so good Ill be watching again tomorrow for a recap"

There has never been a good "boxing" match in wrestling, they flail at each other like children and the crowd voraciously boos the whole ordeal."

Swagger has nice technique and slams, Borne has relentless offense when he's in control, and there are a lot of good counters all around. If this match had any drama or build, it would have been rock solid! The problem is that there is none of that. I wouldn't call it an ice cold match because there was a small feud there, but it's certainly not a hot match people cared about. They did the best they could here, but they didn't have the foundation to make a truly good match."

The main event was 10/10 outstanding, wont give away any spoilers but what they setup with Okada and then Ospreay for their futures is going to be must see TV/PPV. It already is at this point, but what a way to kick off the new stage setup, graphics, and tunnels coming back. This is going to be a really great year if they keep this up."

It didn't have many spots, it was more than anything a brawl until its end, but the public was quite involved, and the charisma of Eli Drake (currently LA Knight) helped a lot to carry this match forward."

Pretty lukewarm start to the new season of Dynamite though but at least it got over Swerve as the new central character right off the bat. The match wasn't even really necessary for that and he could've just cleared the ring and had a staredown with Joe and Wardlow and that probably would've been more than enough for the same effect than what we got here which was just a bunch of bad wrestling tropes."

PPV quality match here for certain."

[5.0] "This wasn't as good as I thought it would be but it was still alright. There's a weird conundrum where Statlander relies on the big power moves for her moveset and obviously Riho is really small so it's not as impressive. They tried to find some ways to make it more dynamic but it didn't really flow. I didn't expect Riho to win though since she just lost a title match and Stat gets more TV time than anyone currently so that was a surprise at least. The chain stuff was weird. I get the story they're telling and Riho is a former champ but Stokley even suggesting Statlander needing a chain is kinda weird. You can justify it to make sense but it still feels wrong."

[9.0] "Let's get the bad out first: 1) The opening segment was fine with Joe and Swerve alone but then went off a cliff once the Undisputed Kingdom arived. They didn't do anything to get me hyped for Wardlow vs Joe and Cole should just rest at home. This is harsh, but he looks pathetic out there. The "can they co-exist? " tag match didn't help. 2) Jericho badly needs a 6 month break or something. He has looked the same since the inception of the company, he looks washed in his matches and he drags down the people he's feuding/having a story. I enjoyed everything else. Very promo-heavy show but it makes sense being a Post-PPV show and having to set up multiple feud and matches. Good FTW title match, good Christian/Copeland angle, very good Riho/Stat match, excellent Okada/Bucks/Eddie segment and Ospreay vs Fletcher was great. Danielson coming out to confront him... oh my goodness. 8.5/10"

[9.0] "Good "officially signed this time" TV debut for Will Ospreay and a good return for Fletcher who'd been out a bit I think. They big news is the stare down at the end but the match was action packed and intense. They're friends and two young hungry guys so they were going as hard as they can at each other. Ospreay is on such a tear right now that I wouldn't be surprised if he gets injured with his standards. Maybe he'll ease up now that he's in a program with Bryan and save it for that match because it's kinda ridiculous how hard he went here and Sunday."

It wasn't loved by me, not at all really, but I'll acknowledge there is at the very least a lot of extremely athletic stuff going on here. Sadly, I just couldn't feel any kind of attachment to this match. I'm not the guy to say every match needs a deep story, but to go to these extreme lengths with nothing on the line, not even an ounce of animosity between them, just pure soulless exhibition without any grit except for Ospreay getting his back messed up on that turnbuckle spot, which of course he didn't sell and had no bearing at all on the match. Actually nothing had any bearing on the match, they ran through tons of bombs and popped the crowd and the job was done."

That one. That's sarcasm, incase it was hard to tell through text. That's Jackson's 'big spot.' And his finish is a torture rack. Is anyone surprised this guy didn't get over? This match was the same dull quality as the one last month. The sad part is, Jackson's offense is so bad, I almost prefer the DQ finish to what he can showcase. A embarrassing moment in IC title history, and not a match worth your time to any extent."

Spears vs. Connors was a regular squash match. I don't like this cryptic gimmick that Spears has right now, It's silly. Warriors vs. ValTatum was good and had a heel turn from Roxxane Perez. [8.0] "Good episode of Dynamite this week, good to see the return of Adam Copeland, the AEW debut of Kazuchika Okada even if he is siding with The Young Bucks, and the final moments of the show with Bryan Danielson and Will Ospreay coming face to face which makes for interesting thinking of what could come next down the road. Samoa Joe & Swerve Strickland vs Matt Taven & Mike Bennett: In an impromptu match made from the opening segment, Samoa Joe and Swerve Strickland were able to put their differences aside for the match, The Kingdom were meh and it showed when they took control for the limited time they did [**3/4]. Hook vs Brian Cage: Hook had a hard fought title defense against Brian Cage, some cool moments like the ending when Hook locked in the Red Rum submission and Brian Cage tried to get out of it even by launching Hook into thumbtacks and Hook managed to retain the title [***]. Killswitch vs Matt Menard: Obviously was always going to be a short match and dominated by Killswitch who was always getting the win [DUD]. Riho vs Kris Statlander: A good match for the women's division while it lasted, until Stokely Hathaway distracted the referee and threw the chain in the ring to try and get Statlander to use it against Riho which let the match down unfortunately [**3/4]. Will Ospreay vs Kyle Fletcher: A great match with Fletcher showing resilience against Ospreay, the exchanges between the two were enjoyable to watch, good to see Ospreay continuing his momentum in AEW with another win even a few days after his hellacious match against Konosuke Takeshita at Revolution [****1/2]"

[8.0] "For being the rebranded Dynamite and an all new era of Dynamite...Nothing much has changed other than the presentation. The only match worth watching was Riho vs. Kris Statlander & the absolute banger of a main event between Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher. I had been semi-watching AEW for a while now due to a lot of bad booking and underwhelming shows starting at Full Gear 2023 but this show has made me a fan again. We started off with a Swerve promo before Joe & Kingdom came out and match was made. Kingdom vs. SwerveJoe was underwhelming and made the Kingdom look weak. Hook vs. Brian Cage was an okay hardcore match but suffered from sloppy moments. Killswitch vs. Daddy Magic was boring as hell and the whole match was underwhelming. ADAM COPELAND RETURNS AND CHALLANGES CHRISTIAN TO AN I QUIT MATCH. The Young Bucks come out and dadada random bullshit before Kingston comes out and OKADA DEBUTS FOR AEW AND JOINS THE ELITE AND TURNS HEEL! WHAT A SHOCKING TWIST. Riho vs. Statlander was good. Darby Allin had an emotional promo and it might be the last time we see Darby and White came out and dadadada and the main event was absolutely great. A good show but the first hour held this show down a tid bit. [****]"

If that's the pace they want to set for everything then alright. You could tell they both wanted to leave an impression and they weren't pulling their punches literally or figuratively. I still haven't gotten a chance to see the PPV with the Takeshita match but I think most people might be seeing Ospreay here for the first time so it makes sense to go all out for that at least."

[9.0] "I expected a retread of Ospreay/Takeshita that was slightly weaker but I actually like this a little more (granted I'm in the minority who thought Ospreay/Takeshita was "just" great and not MOTY) because of the story it told about Fletcher trying to follow in the footsteps of Ospreay's insane career and stepping to him in a show of strength only to fall flat and take his loss like a man (literally) on the chin. The actual moves weren't AS spectacular as at Revolution but the reversals were much more complex and smooth, you can tell these two know each other well. Loved the handshake chop sequence, Kyle's reaction to Will landing on his feet, and the finish. ****1/4+"

Statlander seemed almost afraid to go hard on Riho and Riho had a few missteps like on the turnbuckle but they hit their flash moves before getting into the story part with the chain which was just lame. Statlander spends a good minute or two just staring at it and then blames Stokley. We've seen it before, it never makes anyone look good or have an interesting angle but whatever. Roll up win and probably a rematch on the way where Statlander does use the chain."

I was on the edge of my seat throughout this one and the storytelling with this match was so damn good and some of the moments in this match were flat out impressive. Brian Cage has some fun offense too and Hook is light enough to take it. Hook is still learning on the job so there was some awkward stuff and it's still kinda weird to see the rookie get decisive wins over more guys who can do a bit more but Cage has never been pushed hard anyway so no big deal I guess. The Jericho stuff was lame as fuck and it'll be interesting to see how Hook fares."

Undisputed Kingdom aren't over like at all and Swerve very much is so all the points here are for his hot tag sequence. No point in trying to protect Bennett and Taven so I don't care a makeshift tag team won against ROH tag champs but they really just aren't suited for this kind of spot on TV. Wardlow came out after to set up the Joe match for next week which is pretty fast."

[8.0] "What a sprint. I knew this would rule from the moment I saw the graphic, and it did. Stat is the best power wrestler in the division and Riho is one of its best underdogs, both with great basing for the other. The momentum moves back and forth with just the right balance of smooth and believable (this is thing Riho is great at), and it always surprises you. Both women have incredible suplexes here; Stat with the super long delays and huge rotation on the Germans and Riho just muscling Stat up. That one handlock setup for the powerbomb that Riho turns into a rana is awesome too. Nice angle with Stoke trying to get Stat to cheat too, from her dumping that chain for a pop to the finish was a great sequence too. This is why I have faith in the division even with Toni's defenses being below-average and Julia going a while between hers. ****"

I thought it was a bit better than Hook vs. Brian Cage so best match of the night so far right here. They had some decent showings but this match could have been better. Overall, their were some cool spots here and there and some sloppy moments that were very noticeable that didn't help the match. My favorite spots were obviously the barricade spots and the thumbtacks spot. The ending was sick as Hook kept the REDRUM in while being drove into thumbtacks and still making Brian Cage tap out. [7.0] "A quite decent plunder match. Nothing you've not seen before, but in a more ECW style with the weapons everywhere all over the place. Cage's heat segment from the bodyslam on the ramp was pretty damn good, just a lot of him tossing HOOK around; this was boosted by his awesome charge through the barricade and his King from Tekken-inspired gear. The tacks were pretty brilliant booking though, Cage despite his size winces and sells for the tacks but when Cage dumps HOOK into them under his bodyweight, HOOK just sucks it up and cinches the Redrum in harder. [10.0] "In my personal style of rating events, I don't give 10s easily. To me, many of even the best shows rank as a 9, and a 10 show has to have just that certain intangible "something" that makes it transcend the 9 rating. Indeed, out of the nearly 900 shows I've rated, spanning from 1976 to the present day, as of this writing I've only previously given fourteen "10" ratings. It's one of those things where I may not exactly be able to define a "10" show, but I know one when I see it. And this time - for the first time in my ratings - AEW pulled it off. It was overall a very strong card with many different styles of wrestling represented in many good-to-great matches. Ospreay vs Takeshita, Kingston vs Danielson and the Joe-Page-Swerve three-way were at the very top of the list for match quality, while Strong vs OC, BCC vs FTR and Christian vs Garcia held up their end of the bargain. The Storm vs Purrazzo match was OK if a little flat, with a somewhat lame ending and an unenviable spot on the card, while the scramble match - pretty much a cluster - was the only real weak point. But the part that makes this event transcendent is, of course, the main event, which was set up perfectly to showcase Sting in his final moments as an active in-ring competitor, allowing him to long strong and the crowd to send him off in a positive manner. The respectful tone towards Sting throughout the event - and the overall excellent way he's been utilized during this final run - serves as a great capstone to Sting's time in AEW and his career overall. (Even the PPV time running out on Sting's farewell speech seemed oddly appropriate - how many times did that happen to Sting segments, and main event segments in general, in WCW, after all? ) A generally great show in general (a major step up from the weaker Full Gear and World's End events last year for sure), but the Sting sendoff just captured "that feeling" that pushes this up to that top level of rating, in my book."

Them being the highlight of a deflating tag devision now strikes me as a low point in the buisness."
