This division as a whole was a collection of a great showcase of modern professional wrestling, lucha libre, etc. For me, this felt like the groundwork of the wrestling we see today, and this championship was as it's forefront, especially when you have guys like Malenko, Guerrero, Mysterio, Benoit, Jericho, and a lot more challenging for this and putting out the best wrestling, sometimes of an entire episode of Nitro."

The belt may have been small but it beautiful design made it worth it, hell WWE would keep a similar look when they got it. Even when Russo had control this belt was still the top dog."

Often racking up 4-5 star classics, and had numerous credible champions - who were skilled in technical wrestling as well as high flying stuff. It definitely got weakened around '99-'00s but wasn't quite as damaged as the World Heavyweight and World Television titles were around this time. This division was such a cornerstone of WCW, that WWE gave it space and time during the invasion, and even created their own version of the title, and I think that says a lot."

[9.0] "At one time WCW's Cruiserweight Title represented one of the best things in wrestling, allowing a showcase of what for me in the mid-90s was an entirely new, exciting, high-flying style of wrestling the likes of which I'd not seen before, with fantastic domestic and international talent vying for it on a weekly basis. Aside from whatever the NWO was doing, it was by far the most must-see part of Monday Nitro. Towards the end of the company's history, it unfortunately suffered some degree of disrespect under the Russo regime (though not quite as bad as the TV Title), but its legacy lives on, with WCW's Cruiser belt effectively replacing the WWF's own Light Heavyweight Title after the purchase of WCW, and modern-day WWE carrying on with a new Cruiserweight Title even now."
