Now, if were talking about the current WWE IC Championship that looks like the classic Ultimate Warrior and Mr. Perfect championship, I feel very indifferent about it. I really hate the white strap and the colors aren't exactly popping on me. But the title reigns are amazing. The Miz being the one I always think of when thinking of the title. Along with Seth Rollins, and Finn Balor even though he unfortunately didn't hold it that long. |

The Miz is a great talker but average wrestler, and he's had it for so long that all of his runs with the title tend to be a blur, as well as most IC title defenses where the finishes with him are usually the same. And some of those who have won it from Miz didn't do much for the title or act as though it mattered to them whether they won or lost it. |

Die glorreichen Zeiten liegen jedoch lange zurück und so schwankt die Bedeutung zur Zeit sehr nach Träger und der dazugehörigen Fehde. Nicht selten wird er dabei ignoriert und ist nicht mal Mittelpunkt der Fehde. Zwar erfährt er derzeit durch die Abwesenheit des Univeral-Champs eine kleine Renaissance, aber die wird wohl auch beendet sein, wenn da wieder normale Verhältnisse einkehren und so ist der IC-Title immer ein Spielball der äußeren Bedingungen und hat derzeit kein Standing, diesen Schwankungen Stand zu halten. Als Titel generell sinnvoll, die Überarbeitung zum retro-weiß ist gelungen, wenn das Booking nur wertschätzender wäre. So verkommt er zu häufig zum Beiwerk einer Fehde, daher muss man hier von einem guten Midcard-Titel doch mehr Punkte als eigentlich nötig abziehen. |

Inzwischen macht die WWE aber nicht mehr viel daraus. Hatte ja gehofft, dass er nach der Fusion des Heavyweight Titles mit dem WWE Title die entstandene Lücke ausfüllen kann und wieder im alten Glanz erstrahlt, aber das war bisher absolut gar nichts. Eine Regentschaft sollte auch mal wieder mindestens 100 Tage dauern, sonst verkommt das ganze zum Wanderpokal. Die WWE sollte sich mal trauen, eine richtig lange Regentschaft zuzulassen. Meine Kandidaten wären Cesaro, Kevin Owens natürlich Dolph Ziggler und in naher Zukunft vielleicht Sami Zayn, Hideo Itami und Finn Balor. Update: ich habe mir gerade mal die Liste der Titelträger angeschaut und wann die letzte wirklich gute Regentschaft war. Dabei bin ich bei Cody Rhodes in den Jahren 2011 und 2012 gelandet. Seitdem gab es wirklich keine Story um den Titel, die mich unterhalten hätte. Dafür einen Punkt Abzug. |

Besonders in Erinnerung blieben mir die Regentschaften des Honky Tonk Mans, Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, The Rock, natürlich Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Shelton Benjamin, John Morrison, Jeff Hardy, Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhodes und Dolph Ziggler. Mittlerweile hat der Titel leider nicht mehr den Status, den er früher hatte, aber mit den aktuellen Titelträgern wie Ambrose oder Owens wird dem Titel wieder ein Aufwärtsschwung gegeben. Ingesamt ein bisher immer schön designter Titel mit ordentlich Prestige. |
