[7.0] "Good belt with a good lineage. It felt like the perfect "in-between" midcard championship, with a mix of cruiserweights and people who would usually challenge for the US title (but not as frequent)."
[9.0] "The workhorse title. This belt was defended almost ever week on TV and though the matches that weren't ppv but this was a test belt, it tested if you were ready for more of a push into the midcard, maybe towards US or maybe even world."
[9.0] "One of my favourite belts, if I ever bought myself a replica belt, it would be this one. Stunning Steve Austin (my most favourite wrestler when I was a kid), Lord Steven Regal, Fit Finlay, Rick & Scott Steiner, Saturn, Booker T, Benoit, Jericho, Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton, Sting in the previous incarnation of the belt, Johnny B Badd, Luger had the belt after being the US and the World champion, and other names, wow, what a list! Yes, Russo totally messed it up in the end, but I just loved the belt in the 90s. I think the time limit was a fantastic idea, a heel could just hang onto the belt, even after being beat up the whole match, just because he could not be pinned/submitted in time - than the time was increased to 15 minutes I think for PPV matches. I liked this concept, the design and the matches, that were generally much better, than world title matches. I wish they gave Scott Norton a title reign and Buff also looked good with the belt, when he was carrying it for Scott Steiner.."
[7.0] "This belt had some great champions! I'm mostly only familiar with it's WCW tenure however. While it occasionally got exchanged often on house shows, it never really felt an unimportant championship... until the Russo Era, when it was literally trashed. Maybe I could understand a little if they wanted to focus onto a Hardcore division and belt instead of this one? but even at the end it arguably had better champions then said championship. Always thought the championship itself was beautiful looking. An underated championship."
[8.0] "The WCW TV Title was a very strong third-tier belt, with an early history that saw it alternate between giving established stars who weren't currently in the World Title picture something to fight over, and giving up-and-coming names (including Steve Austin) something to help establish themselves with. It went on to a very hotly-contested period in 1997 and '98 with the likes of Booker T, Chris Benoit, Saturn, Fit Finlay, Disco Inferno, Rick Martel and Chris Jericho vying for it, providing an exciting part of the card and, once again, helping some of those names (notably Booker, Benoit and Jericho) up the ladder. The biggest black mark against the belt is how badly it was disrespected at the end of its existence."
[8.0] "Like all things WCW, it doesn't pay to rank it on its last impression. Anderson, Austin, Orndorff, Regal, Steamboat and numerous others defended this title with prestige, while future and former World Champions battled over it. It didn't necessarily propel many people to the World Championship, at least not directly (it can't really be credited for Austin's post-WCW success but it was WCW more than ECW that made Jericho a star in the USA) but it helped to keep people visible and active on the mid-card. I wonder where WWE guys like Zack Ryder, Heath Slater, Chad Gable and Jack Gallagher could be right now if there was a non-brand specific tertiary title like this for them to compete over. That said, it's unforgivable that the dying days of WCW was Duggan vs Trashcan for the TV title rather than Lance Storm vs Curt Hennig or Bam Bam Bigelow vs Mike Awesome or Rey Mysterio vs Chavo, etc."
[4.0] "I know a lot of people who were huge fans of this belt, but to me it almost always felt like the definition of a filler title that really didn't propel many guys to bigger things. The belt became a literal joke in the Russo era after Duggan pulled it out the trash."
[6.0] "Hatte zwar stark begonnen, aber dieser Title kommt an seinen NWA-Vorgänger gleichen Namens nicht heran. Dafür waren die letzten Jahre einfach zu schlecht. Ganz zu schweigen von dem Unsinn mit Jim Duggan."
[7.0] "Ein stolzer Titel, leider wurde er von der WCW nicht wirklich würdig eingesetzt. In der Pre-NWO-Era hatte der Titel viel mehr Prestige. Eine Schande, dass er dem lächerlichen Hardcore Titel weichen musste."
[5.0] "Ricky Steamboat, Lord Steven Regal, Johnny B. Badd, und was kam dann? Prince Iaukea, Saturn, Rick Steiner, Jim Duggan und eine maximale Regentschaft von nicht mal 100 Tagen, schade."
[8.0] "Auf jeden Fall ein ordentliches Titel-Konzept, einen Titel, der eben in TV-Shows verteidigt werden muss. Sowas wünsche ich mir auch für WWE / TNA. Der Titel wechselte in der WCW recht oft, da es einfach langweilig ist, wenn ein Wrestler den Titel Woche für Woche verteidigen kann. Dennoch haben viele Größen wie Austin, Booker T, Benoit oder Steiner den Titel zum Anfang ihrer Karrieren gehalten. Ein guter Midcard-Titel einfach."
[8.0] "Ich mochte diesewn titel immer- wohl auch, weil er per definitionem so oft im TV zu sehen war. Das hieß viele Matches mit zumeist talentierten Wrestlern. Steamboat, Eaton, Orndorff, Regal und natürlich Anderson... Wenn es um den Television Title ging, dann habe ich mich immer auf einen spannenden Kampf gefreut und wurde fast nie enttäuscht. Das Design des Gürtels zu Regals Zeiten war zudem auch Klasse."
[7.0] "Allein schon die Idee eines TV-Titels, der bei jeder Sendung verteidigt werden muss, ist einige Punkte wert. So wird der Titel wenigstens regelmäßig verteidigt (nicht wie einige andere Midcard-Titel, die anscheinend nur aus Versehen mal verteidigt werden) und die TV-Shows werden aufgewertet. Leider nahm dieser Titel ein unrühmliches Ende."
[5.0] "Ein Titel mit einer großen Historie, vielen namenhaften und auch zu der Zeit, als sie den Titel hielten, aufstrebenden Champions. Das Ende des Titels war allerdings wenig ruhmreich und schmälert den Wert, den der Gürtel hatte."
[8.0] "Einer der Titel, die von jedem gehalten werden konnten - vorzugsweise Midcarder, was auch eine gute Idee war. Und die Tatsache, dass der Titel bei j e d e r Sendung verteidigt werden musste (zumindest die meiste Zeit lang) ermöglichte auch dem normalsterblichen Nicht-PPV-Zuschauer, ab und zu einen Titelwechsel mehr zu sehen."
[6.0] "Jahrelang immer wieder ein Garant für ansehliche Midcard-Matches. Der Mülleimer-Zwischenfall zum Ende der Titelgeschichte schmällert seinen Wert jedoch ein wenig."
[8.0] "Es gab wirklich einige ausgezeichnete Titelkämpfe, aber auch leider einiges, was nicht ganz so gut war. Trotzdem hatte man hier einen guten Titel."
