[7.0] "I don't understand the criticism of this group, outside of comparisons to the ECW version of it. It was a very effective midcard stable in the late heyday of WCW, an era full of mediocre and pointless stables. It recycled a lot of different guys and made them look interesting and stronger than before- Scotty Riggs, Sick Boy, Reese, Hammer. All guys who had a look and something to contribute. Better than them in dark matches or jobbing on Saturday Night. The whole group looked intimidating and intriguing when put together, and sitting them at ringside was a great idea. It also was a great showcase for the breakout guys of the group, who probably would have gotten buried or lost in the mix otherwise if DDP or whoever didn't have to wrestle them before getting to the final boss. I also feel like WCW was a better place for stables in general compared to WWF at the time, and that this group wouldn't have worked well there at all- they certainly wouldn't be on camera for more than one segment. Too bad, because a feud wth Rock or Austin or whoever probably would have been great. The group didn't last too long and was put to bed at the right time, but in 98 they were a large part of WCW's healthy midcard. As a group, they are fondly associated with the best days of WCW's final years. Good matches are any with Page, [redacted], any time Raven took on one of the guys in the group (Kanyon, Saturn), any time they fought each other (Saturn v Kanyon) matches with other strong WCW midcarders like Booker T and Goldberg, and most all of Kidman's matches. They're neutered and less dangerous than ECW, but they fit right in on WCW television otherwise. WCW had a lot of TV time to fill in 98 and you could do a whole lot worse than these guys."

The only thing wrong was the timing of the factions in WCW. WCW was ran by the nWo in 1997 which helped keep the flock at the mid-card level. The faction had amazing wrestlers (Raven, Saturn, Kidman, Kanyon) and also help birth amazing matches and feuds. Like Raven vs. Benoit, Saturn vs. Disco Inferno. If WCW used this group properly it could've been money."

[6.0] "Raven's Flock mainly suffered from a timing problem. The idea of loners joining together is a great idea... but in WCW at the time there was a huge amount of stables. Just about everyone was in a clique. It was like high school. The dancing wrestlers were in a clique. The LGBT wrestlers were cliqued up. The Asian wrestlers were cliqued up. The cool kids were all in the NWO. There was the military faction, the new kids had a bunch of stables to choose from in Natural Born Thrillers and New Blood, and the slackers were the Filthy Animalz. So, basically, in WCW the loners pairing up as the Raven's Flock came off as rather conformist and not at all unique. Additionally, the group was formed by wrestlers being used as openers and led by mid-carders in what was a rehash of a group that had already existed elsewhere (ECW's Raven's Nest) where it was composed of openers and mid-carders being led by main-eventers. The group had talented wrestlers in it, but this stable was done no favors simultaneously existing in the shadow of its former self and the NWO."

As such, I might remember it a little more fondly than someone who was watching his time in ECW. The Flock members being a group of misfits & following Raven was a cool dynamic. I also liked how they sat in the crowd during the shows. Saturn being Raven's right hand man was a good role for him. I only wish Raven could have elevated to more of a min eventer during his WCW run. But even so, he was a good higher tier midcarder."

[8.0] "The WCW iteration of Raven's band of followers was a mixed bag of talent, but the dynamic worked well. It provided several memorable storylines, including support in Raven's feuds with Diamond Dallas Page and Chris Benoit, and provided a launching point for Saturn, Kanyon and Kidman. Other members like Reese, Sick Boy and Hammer were just there as extra bodies, but it was overall one of the most memorable non-NWO factions in late-'90s WCW."

Hatte ja was."
