They ultimately impressed, probably more than anyone would have ever though; eventually leading to the #DIY team. The team had some spectacular matches against The Revival & Undisputed Era. The team eventually died, but in the ashes grew the amazing Ciampa vs Gargano feud."
[7.0] "Short-lived tag team. Both very good to great wrestlers who had fantastic TakeOver matches in the 'Old NXT' era where there was about 5 weeks between final TV taping and Takeover. Had a great long-term storyline that was derailed by a legit injury, so cannot knock anyone for that. A lot of their appeal may come from being a legit tag team, at a time in NXT when there were other legit tag teams, in an umbrella promotion that has handled tag team wrestling woefully for an extended period of time. A more ordinary team outside of the WWE bubble."

Both guys didn't accomplish anything on the indy scene, but when they were brought to NXT they got put on a pedestal. Not my cup of tea. Granted, they had good chemistry but their run was too short to be hailed as all time great."

Both individually started off in the indies, like Evolve, PWG, ROH, and DGUSA, finding success all over before signing with WWE. Both have worked excellently as the top babyface tag team in NXT. After having two back to back what I consider instant classics with the Revival in Takeover Brooklyn and Toronto, followed by a good match with AOP in San Antonio and then a fantastic triple threat with Revival and AOP in Orlando. Best believe they earned their spot."

Their emotional journey towards the NXT Tag Team Championship was extremely engrossing and generated a string of great matches that stole the show everytime. Even if they might not be destined to pursue this avenue formany year, the teamof #DIY managed to make an indelibile mark on wrestling fans and will go down as one of the most formidable feel-good act of the modern era."

[10.0] "Ich kam mit den beiden das erste Mal bei der CWC in Berührung und war sofort angenehm überrascht, wie viel Charisma und Talent in den beiden steckt. Im Gegensatz zu Revival sind die beiden nicht nur als Team effektiv, sondern zeigen schon klare individuelle Konturen. Das ist klever! Normalerweise sind Tag Team-Mitglieder (vor allem zum Karrierebeginn) mehr oder weniger eine Kopie des anderen mit leichten Änderungen. Interessanterweise waren jedoch diejenigen Teams am einprägsamsten, die "gegensätzlicher nicht sein konnten" (Bryan/Kane, Jericho/BigShow, Austin/Trips), oder wo sich die Individuen zumindest in einigen Aspekten eindeutig voneinander unterschieden (Edge/Christian, Kane/Taker, Jericho/Benoit, Smackdown six). Bei der Darstellung von DIY wählte man direkt den zweiten Weg und macht momentan alles richtig."
[9.0] "Das begann alles als beide zum ersten Mal als Tag Team bei NXT auftauchten. Johnny gefiel das Tag Team mit Tommaso so gut das er entschied mit ihm ein festes Tag Team zu bilden so konnten auch die Indies beide als Tag Team booken und es klappt einfach. Beide hamonieren gut, sind im Ring stark und haben starke Moves drauf. Starkes Tag Team das mir richtig gut gefällt. Jetzt fehlt nur noch ein wenig Tag Team Gold egal in welcher Liga. Edit 14. 10. 2016 haben nun einen Tag Team Namen und heißen DIY. Edit 18. 12. 2016 von 8 auf 9 Punkte rauf. Für mich eins der Tag Teams 2016. 2017 soll es dann so weitergehen."

They're a very unique team that shows something that hasn't been presented much in NXT lately in my view: the combination of two individual styles. With The Revival, The Ascension and American Alpha, we saw teams who work together and fight like a unity. But what makes Gargano and Ciampa strong is that they don't get lost if they're not together. Gargano is a quick technician, Ciampa is a stiff striker and when alone they deliver pretty well. So together they form an alliance of two badass wrestlers with good chemistry and great attributes to be taken seriously when alone. Very exciting team to watch."
