618.10.2023celticinvader5.0In his prime, a solid midcarder. Had a slow, methodical style and used his size to break people down. Unfortunately wrestled way past his prime and his matches went from methodical battles to tiresome slogs. Hard to watch in the ring at times, but always solid on the mic.

925.08.2023Conquistador376.0My goodness, I have rewritten a Don Muraco summary probably 7 times now. Let's put it this way and (maybe) finally put a nail in the coffin: Enhancement talent/squash matches: Very good, entertaining, at times was a trend setter and innovator in that scenario (first to bring the Russian leg sweep to New York as well as probably the inventor of the "tilt a whirl" backbreaker). Matches against competition: varied from not awful to skippable, no mat classics (though he did have chemistry with many). His mic skills were always exceptional and here is where he always excelled. An inspired Don Muraco is shockingly enjoyable but an uninspired Don is NOT recommended at all. He is inconsistent. 5.5 rounded up and notable for creating the "borrring" chant in wrestling, which is some form of an unpardonable sin (see also: Steve Austin and the "what? " chants).

1318.06.2023crs2858.0Don Muraco was a good wrestler. Had a good bump and his wrestling was good for the time. He could be good on the mic and get reactions from a crowd.
1426.05.2023Giantfan19806.0Muraco was one of the better guys of the early 80's WWF in that his move set wasn't so old fashion and limited as many guys left over from the 70's. He lost a little bit of it when he started roiding out in late 87-into 1988. Was also quite good for his comical bumping and character which led to some funny segments with Mr Fuji.

1612.03.2023CMFunk0075.0Don Muraco never completely gelled for me as a complete worker. I saw him most of the time withe the WWF managed by Mr. Fuji and then later teaming with Bob Orton after the Roddy PIper face turn. He was a big guy who had a few good matches, but overall wasn't someone I looked forward to seeing in a match. His style was slow and plodding and I best remember him for helping assault Hulk Hogan with King Kong Bundy on Saturday Night's Main Event. His most memorable feud was with Ricky Steamboat. He was completely average in the ring, but had a certain understated charisma that carried him through the '80s.

3303.02.2020HCWSecurity10.0The Rock, The Hawaiian Beach Bum... was never on roids. He is one of the few that were not on them. He was never cut but as a longshoreman he was strong AF. Even when I tried out for HCW he still had his super strength. His knees showed alot of wear but that is it. I will say it was an honor to have him as my boss for a few years.

3510.08.2019JEK 199110.0Even though he was on steroids he was still a great fighter. He was better than Hulk Hogan. Thank god they gave him the intercontinental title. He was a great heel for the 80's. As a babyface he sucked. WWE made him look bad with the tie-dyed shirt he had and making babyface. He was not successful as a babyface. Even having Bob Orton as a tag team partner looked bad on him too.
3628.07.2019KyleEnjoysWrestling6.0In an era of colorful & memorable stars, Don Muraco was quite bland. If you put him in a line up next to Hogan, Macho & Piper; it's clear why he's not better remembered by many wrestling fans.
3723.10.2018RatingsMachine7.0Don Muraco was a really good worker and a good talker, so that, combined with his look, made him a great heel for early 80s WWF. And he was no slouch earlier on in his career, either.
3816.10.2018Cameron6211296.0
3921.04.2018Gauntlet847.0A solid midcarder. He had the physical attributes but I found him a little boring most of the time. He didn't quite have star quality.

4115.03.2017Argylex5.0
4228.02.2017Owen8.0His current rating of less than 6 is a travesty. He was a great heel who had a distinct swagger and always seemed on the brink of losing control and really hurting someone. I didn't care for his "Beach Bum" phase but besides that he was an awesome competitor for decades.

4410.06.2016The Chosen One7.0The first WWE King Of The Ring winner held the Intercontinental Title on two occasions, for an impressive total of 541 days. He was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2004 in recognition of his role as a top heel in the '80s. Back then, he was a huge draw who battled Bob Backlund and Hulk Hogan over the WWF Championship. With his impressive physique, he was a spectacular powerhouse who also had very decent technical skills for a man his size.

4625.09.2015mdkarl9.0People who only remember muraco after his steroid use missed how good this guy really was. I think he lost his passion for the business and kind of sleep walked his way through those last 5-6 years, but he was real good in his early wwf time when he held intercontinental strap and feuded with snuka.
