[4.0] "While he's not so rough in the very early 80's, around the time of the national expansion he just wasn't that great. Pedro Morales almost always bored me to tears. At the very butt end of his career he was holding Tito Santana back and Tito was my man! Often when he's wrestling I wander off and do something else while his match plays on. Once he was out of the scene; the WWF began to really gain momentum, because he kind of felt like the last in ring hold out from a bygone era. 3.75 rounded up."

[5.0] "I've never seen any of Pedro Morales's early days. Only his late career WWF stuff, which judging by the comments, he was washed up at this point. But that's all I can base this on, as I felt like he was a decent enough wrestler to throw into a tag match with someone more established or a guy to job out to a more established star. Not my favorite guy to watch, but enjoyable enough to not make me change the channel."

Had a nice finisher and worked well with repeat contendors to the belt, Blassie, Jonathan, Stasiak, Hennig, Von Heller, and most of all Steele. Could never fill Bruno's shoes though and appeared to be force fed into the title. In hindsight, a Strongbow title run would have been better, as the Chief was strong enough to step out of Bruno's shadow, where Pedro's entire title run stayed."

[9.0] "the majority of Pedro's career was spent before most of the raters here were ever born. Pedro already had a 20 year career by the time WWE went national so most of our memories are based on watching a guy in his 40's being pushed as a nostalga act. Morales was given a mutli year run as the top draw in WWE when the world title actually meant something. He was probably not as successful as Bruno or Backlund as a babyface draw for the company and certainly not the money draw that Andre or Hogan were but Morales would be top of the pile on the next tier to these guys in the 1970's. His in ring work relied on his passion. He drew on his ethnic support. His appeal wasn't universal but his fan base was very rabid. Morales had a big enough name and fan following that his name alone would have been enough to draw a crowd with any North Eastern Territory in his prime."

His run as WWWF champion was moderately successful but nothing compared to Sammartino, Hogan, etc. His matches weren't great but he was super over as a babyface particularly to Latino fans, and was a useful hand in his later career."
