Funaki hat eines seiner Karriere-Highlights bei einer House-Show in meiner Heimatstadt Nürnberg erlebt. Er hatte ein Match ziemlich in der Mitte der Card, keine Ahnung wer sein Gegner war. Man rechnete nicht mit viel, doch die Fans in der Frankenhalle waren einfach genial drauf und wollten Stimmung machen. Im Rhythmus von "Volare" wurde "Funaki" gesungen. Erst von ein paar Fans, dann stimmte schnell die ganze Halle ein. Das Match konnte nicht fortgesetzt werden, beide Wrestler und der Ref schauten sich ungläubig um und konnten nicht glauben, was da gerade passiert. Funaki stieg in allen vier Ecken auf die Seile und ließ sich feiern, als hätte er gerade den Titel gewonnen. Ein herrlicher Moment. Unnötig zu erwähnen, dass ich da natürlich mitgesungen habe. Indeed! |
