Bill DeMott

[1.0] "He was never an accomplished wrestler and lacked charisma when speaking on a microphone. It's unclear how he landed a job as a trainer on Tough Enough, as he didn't seem to have the qualifications to train anyone. He was never a big name in either WCW or WWE, so I feel like he was an odd choice. After learning about his unpleasant behavior behind the scenes, I'm relieved they fired him."

[4.0] "As a trainer, a total 0 for me, even Harley Race of all people thought he sucked (and if Harley thinks you're a bad trainer, you might as well give up). But I'm rating him as a wrestler, very basic all around who's only memorable for being Goldberg's first opponent.... And that time he "revealed" his real name was something about erections in WCW."

[4.0] "An okay look, and was decent enough in the ring with a kick ass moonsault, but he got saddled with horrible gimmicks which on the bright side, meant he at least was still getting a paycheck. Turned into a bitter trainer who liked hazing guys with more talent than him. He should be a face book buddy with Bob Holly."

[1.0] "Jobber who could make a star look good.....thousands of others that could and should have been in his position. A leach that latched on to any major wrestling promotion he could for as long as he could. Ended up getting a position as possibly one of the worst trainers not in WWE but in the history of wrestling. Poor excuse of a wrestler and even worse human being."

[5.0] "DeMott had his most prominent run in WCW as Hugh Morrus (and later General Rection). He was a decent midcard brawler type, had a pretty impressive moonsault finisher and while not the most charismatic, could hold his own on the mic. Was notable as Goldberg's first televised win, and later was able to reasonably-convincingly move up to US Title level during his run leading the Misfits in Action. He later came to the WWE as part of the WCW Invasion, but remained basically a background player in that storyline and never moved above the preliminary level afterward. He did become notable as a trainer for WWE, though later allegations about his training methods and practices would eventually lead to his departure."

[4.0] "A meh wrestler. But that's the best I can give him. As a trainer however, he was abysmal. And he NEVER should've been a trainer in NXT. Knowing what we all know now, WWE should've never let him be a trainer."

[2.0] "Never really contributes much to any show and was in general just not worth having around. I liked his match vs Goldberg though, but that's on Goldberg and not him because Goldberg was always cool."

[3.0] "Crash the Terminator was a HOT PROSPECT on the independents. The Man Of Question was a stupid name but it was nice to see he got hired by WCW. They quickly changed his name to "Hugh Morrus"... as if that was much better. He looked good for a few months or so, but his in ring work started sliding downhill for the whole world to see. He stuck around because honestly, who else would hire him? *ahem* I mean, he stuck around long enough to get a push just because he had been there for so damn long. That didn't stop his skills from regressing though! Then he was *SOMEHOW* brought in with the whole WCW invasion angle, where he was so blatantly terrible that he was barely used for the storyline. Somehow, even post Invasion bit he still maintained employment. Eventually he was fired for being a crap human being. Good grief what took so long... I find his tag matches in WCW to be mildly watchable and if I know he's putting someone over that I'm a fan of, I *might not* fast forward. 2.75 rounded up."

[3.0] "Pretty solid wrestler but all my compliments end there. Horrid trainer, which will be what he's remembered for most."

[4.0] "Demott had some interesting moments as Hugh Morrus but it's very telling that his career milestone was being the first to be squashed by Goldberg. His moonsault was cool but plenty of people his size have done it much better since. Not a needle mover of any kind, no feuds I can remember and was DOA as soon as he got to WWF."

[3.0] "He could climb to the top rope and do the moonsault, thats pretty much it. Why they ever put US title on this guy is beyond me, but then again, thats russo s booking for you. He was probably just happy that this guy went with his silly and childish hugh g rection name so he gave him a strap for it. A real shame, since there still were so many quality and more deserving wrestlers around and morrus wasnt exactly an up and comer at that time, just a fat guy who could climb up and flop on his belly from the top turnbuckle."

[3.0] "Bill DeMott is known for two things: Being the first to lose to Goldberg, which is actually a good indication of his in-ring proficiency. And being a trashbag human being who bullied wrestlers who ended up being 10 times the wrestler that he ever was. Otherwise, he's just a guy."

[4.0] "Alright: the only thing that really wowed me about him was that he could do a pretty solid moonsault. Let's just face it, it's the ONLY reason you've probably heard of him, probably also his rather infamous reputation as a trainer where he'd bully guys around and pretend like he has some sort of rep when, let's just face it, he had about as much respect as someone like Disco Inferno. He's had the odd okish match in his better days (a few at best) but 90% of his career is just really bad, plodding nonsense with not much substance at all. Perfectly fine as a low card enhancement talent but never more."

[3.0] "This is wrestling, there's a whole lot of big guys that can do crazy moves off the top rope, so it always irked me when commentators went so hard on the point that he could pull off a moonsault. I never liked him on the mic and I never liked his gimmicks or stupid names. He wasn't the worst in-ring performer I've seen, but he was faaar from the best, and not even middle of the flock."

[0.0] "Big Dick Dudley could also do a moonsault, doesn't mean he was any good either. Bill Demott is a terrible wrestler who always a match skipper whenever I watched him, I don't know how or why they let him be a trainer but he was even worse as that."

[2.0] "I don't think Bill DeMott was good in the ring nor on the mic and the man had some stupid gimmick names"

[7.0] "Got very exciting moves in the ring. He was a great high flyer. Wish they could have done more with him. I don't look at the negative stuff about him and would he did to his clients. He is a great trainer."

[4.0] "I can't believe he was able to weasel his way into that head coach position for so long. Even when he was doing it during Tough Enough he was clearly a problem case. As a wrestler, the only notable thing I remember him for is being the first guy Goldberg beat. He was not terrible in the ring & a guy that big doing a moonsault was impressive, especially for the time. But I see more cons than pros when I'm thinking about Hugh Morris."

[4.0] "Forgettable as a wrestler with several awful gimmick names. Terrible as a developmental trainer for WWE."

[4.0] "As a worker, DeMott was fine; in his younger days, he was a decent brawler. As a trainer, DeMott was less then stellar."

[2.0] "I'm mostly familiar with Morris as part of the first family. A terrible job group that worked bad programs with Meng in 99 WCW. Morris could do a few moves a laugh, that was pretty much it but I liked that gimmick a lot more than MIA which was just garbage. General Rection pretty much says it all. Somehow he got worse in the ring, so they decided to give him a mic more often."

[5.0] "Maybe he's not a great person but he was still a decent mid-card guy back in the late 90s. Not a typical brawler despite his size, could really move and keep a fast pace match going with guys like Goldberg and Alex Wright. His Hugh Morrus gimmick was funny and quirky, in my opinion. Had a very cool finishing maneuver in No Laughing Matter, as well."

[3.0] "I think he knows the basics of what to do in the ring, but he's definitely not the type of wrestler who can train others to be good. Several guys in NXT who are talented were not completely trained by him."

[6.0] "Should've been a lot more in his WCW run – he was a big guy with a unique look and a picture-perfect moonsault. Unfortunately by the time WCW decided to give him a real push, the company was well on its way down the toilet. Later on, as a trainer, he turned out to be an awful person."

[6.0] "The most wildest brawler and strong powerhouse wrestler ever step foot in this industry and his work both W*ING and ECW was a memorable matches of all time"

[2.0] "War in WCW nicht mehr als ein wandelnder Witz dank seiner Gimmick-Namen. Dazu schwach im Ring und noch schwächer als Person."

[0.0] "Not a good worker, not a good talker, horrible out of shape physique and not to mention (with what dirt sheets report) Bill DeMott is a misogynist and just a complete tool. Don't see how Bill DeMott thought so highly of himself. A zero will suffice for me."

[0.0] "Dreadful, evil, garbage person. Forgettable, nothing performer. Hard to believe that he could ever have been booked on the winning side of a title feud over Lance Storm - purely for being born in the United States of America. I believe his legacy will now be his appalling behaviour of a trainer of NXT stars, many of whom were 100x times better than him before they even walked through the door."

[5.0] "Heard he's a jerk now but i enjoyed his work as Crash the Terminator in W*ING and some of his WCW tenure as Hugh Morris."

[10.0] "Bill DeMott is a fantastic talent. He is a larger sized wrestler, with the agility of a man smaller than him. He could wrestle as a brawler, or a powerhouse, or at times even a powerhouse. DeMott was heavily underrated, and really should have been used better. At least he is using what he learned to teach the next generation of Superstars."

[5.0] "Als Wrestler spricht er wohl eher die wenigsten an aber er ist ein Tough Bastard und bringt seine Rookies auf vordermann. Verdammt guter Trainer."

[6.0] "Hugh G. Rection - mehr braucht man nicht zu sagen. :D War mit den Misfits In Action mehr als over. Auch als Mensch sympathisch, der Moonsault immer wieder beeindruckend."

[5.0] "Ein beweglicher Brawler, dass muss man in der Wrestling-Landschaft erstmal finden. Bill kam immer sehr echt rüber und verdiente sich so auch den Respekt der Fans und unter seinen Kollegen. Gerade für die damalige WCW waren solche Arbeitstiere Gold wert. Er konnte sich vielen Stilen anpassen, konnte Wrestler over bringen, solche Wasserträger hatte man einfach viel zu wenig seinerzeit. Mich freute es deshalb ganz besonders, dass er bei Smackdown nochmal einen kurzen Power-Run vor dem Ende seiner Karriere hinlegen durfte."

[8.0] "Hab ihn im Ring eigentlich immer gern gesehen, obwohl er objektiv betrachtet nur Durchschnitt war. Aber der Mann hat mit 44 schon in jede wichtige Position ausserhalb des Rings reinschnuppern dürfen, die wirklich relevant im Wrestling ist und wird es daher IMO noch weit bringen."

[6.0] "War in der WCW wirklich eine echte Säule. Wer bei seiner Statur einen Moonsault springen kann und darüberhinaus auch sonst zu schönen Moves imstande ist, hat 6 Punkte allemal verdient."

[6.0] "EIgentlich im Ring immer ganz unterhaltsam gewesen und sein Moonsault sah schon immer sehr spektakulär aus. Leider auch einige mehr als beschränkte Gimmicks gehhabt der gute DeMott. Ich meine Man of Question und General Rection ist schon großer Crap gewesen. Was macht der Mann eigentlich heute so?"

[5.0] "Als Hugh Morrus und Bill DeMott in meinen Augen ganz furchtbar langweilig, aber als General Rection sehr amüsant."

[6.0] "Immer für ein gutes Match zu haben. Sein U. S Titelgewinn war ein verdienter Lohn für viele Jahre harte Arbeit. Ich fand es schön, dass nach seinem Gewinn ein Großteil des Rosters rauskam und ihm gratuliert hat. Hat mich eig. immer gut unterhalten."

[6.0] "Er war nicht gut, er war nicht schlecht, er war halt da."

[8.0] "Topmann, hab ihn gern gesehn und hatte für mich Wiedererkennungswert, trotz keines besonders kreativen Gimmicks, was zu der Zeit ja in Mode war."

[7.0] "Mich wundert, dass er als Brawler gehandelt wird: für mich ist er ein guter Allrounder, der sich aber leider nie durchsetzen konnte..."

[7.0] "Gefiel mir in der WCW eigentlich ganz gut. Nur sein dämliches Gelache gefiel mir überhaupt nicht."

[6.0] "Ein grundsolider "Big Man", der durchaus mal einen IC-Titel verdient hätte. Leider verschwendete die WCW sein Talent. Charismateschnich auch ok."

[8.0] "Als Laughing Man Hugh Morrus hab ich ihn sehr gerne in Der WCW gesehen und fand es schade das er über die Rolle eines Midcarters nicht hinaus kommen konnte bzw. durfte."

[6.0] "Habe ihn immer gerne gesehen. Guter Worker. Technisch erstaunlich gut. Hat leider nie zum ganz grossen Gold gereicht."

[6.0] "Hab ihn immer relativ gerne gesehen. War im Ring nicht schlecht und hatte doch ein wenig Ausstrahlung."

[2.0] "Seine aktive Wrestlingkarriere ging zu einem Großteil an mir vorbei und das, was ich gesehen habe (hauptsächlich Ende WCW und WWE), hat mich nicht beeindruckt. Als Kommentator hatte er Potenzial, konnte dies aber auch niemals verwirklichen. Insgesamt zuwenig."

[10.0] "War ein Top Athlet, leider völlig unterbewertet. Sehr beweglich und agil. Trotz Masse. Leider zulange bei der WCW versau(er)t."

[8.0] "Hatte schon dutzende Gimmicks, wovon wohl keins länger als ein Jahr hielt. Ist aber immer für einen Lacher gut und wrestlerisch auch nicht so schlecht."

[6.0] "War zu WCW-Zeiten bei den "Misfits in Action" richtig gut. Ging dann aber bei der WWE eher unter und überzeugte in seinen letzten Aktiven Jahren dort auch nicht mehr sonderlich... Außerdem hies er einst Hugh Morris - was für mich immer wie eine Zigarettenmarke klang *lach* ... knapp 7 Punkte"

[8.0] "Als Laughing Man Hugh Morrus ein unterhaltsamer, solider Midcarder, aus dem man noch viel rausholen konnte und der damals seine besten Matches hatte. Als General Rection etwas überpusht und trotzdem ohne die Möglichkeit, sein Können zu zeigen. Zuletzt leider ein wenig weinerlich nach seiner Kündigung..."

[4.0] "Klar kann er mehr zeigen, einen Moonsault Wow das macht ihn dann natürlich direkt mal zu einem völlig unterschätzten Worker. War schlichtweg nie intressant und spielte deshalb völlig zu recht nie eine grosse Role."

[6.0] "Beeindruckt durch seine Beweglichkeit ... trotz seiner Körpermasse!"

[6.0] "für seinen körper sehr beweglich und zeigte einen schönen moonsault"

[8.0] "Ich weis, ich steht mit der Meinung irgendwie alleine da, aber ich mochte den Typ schon immer und fand ihm auch im Ring nicht so schlecht. Für ein Mann seiner Größe war er ganz gut im Ring."
