After the American Males broke up, they didn't know what to do with him and he just became a sort of dry low card heel. Thought about going 5 stars, but he never went anywhere in WCW after Bagwell dumped him."
[4.0] "Part of me used to think The American Males team is what derailed his career. However, when Raven tried to resurrect it by transforming him into Pirate Riggs and things still didn't work out I knew the truth almost immediately; Scotty Riggs: just another body. Pin him, pay him, keep pushing the guy who beat him."
[6.0] "One of the best dropkicks in wrestling, if not the best. Had an interesting look as a member of Raven s flock, must have been very hard to wrestle with an eye patch. Good physique, athletic guy."
[4.0] "Had the looks, but not much else to brag about. Average in-ring ability, but at least he didn't look sloppy. I can't remember any mic performances from him."
[3.0] "I'm not so excited about Scotty Riggs. Visually speaking, he has a fine look and all, but there's not much excitement aside from that. His angle with Raven was interesting when he started wearing the eye patch and stuff, but I was never a fan of his outside of that. I was expecting more with his match against RVD at Heat Wave 2000, but I found it hard to get behind him because his in-ring work was mediocre. Granted, his former tag team partner, Buff Bagwell, wasn't a great wrestler either, but he could do well on the mic and seemed excited to be in the building. I don't get that feeling with Riggs."
[3.0] "When you think of the "Where the Big Boys Play" era of WCW, an act like the American Males instantly pops into your mind. Needless to say, they stood no chance. But after the breakup, perhaps something interesting could come of it? Well, Bagwell found something. Riggs never did."
[1.0] "Whenever I hear people talk about how bad Buff Bagwell was in the ring. I honestly wonder if they are confusing him with his far lesser counterpart Scotty Riggs. Riggs had the physique but literally nothing else. He was void of charisma and had bare minimum in-ring skill. His most notable career moment by far was costing RVD his TV Title vs Jerry Lynn which led to a mostly boring match with RVD at Heat Wave. When you get RVD to be boring, you're probably just bad."
[2.0] "Scotty Riggs was the lesser half of the American Males. Kind of says it all, doesn't it? The LESSER HALF of the AMERICAN MALES. I saw a clip from a shoot interview with him on Youtube recently. Turns out he looks like a hobo now."
[4.0] "Riggs was most notable for his run with WCW, where he found most of his success as half of the American Males with Marcus Bagwell, and later as a member of Raven's Flock. He had enough in-ring skill to work as a teammate or backup character, but not quite the personality to make it beyond preliminary status on his own."
