| 6 | 20.09.2023 | Shoot Headbutt Lover | 8.0 | One of those prime tag wrestlers who almost broke out as a singles wrestler (WCW really tried with that wheneverthey had him but they made him wrestle cruddy wrestlers like Dutch Mantell), but his team with LaFon is so legendary that it eclipsed his whole career. The Can-Am Express are one of the best tag teams of all time, and while I think LaFon is a better wrestler than Furnas, Doug Furnas was no slouch. Doug used agility and power while LaFon was more technical and strike heavy, this made their dynamic incredibly interesting and so fun to watch. Doug Furnas's dropkick is probably a top 5 dropkick of all time, I know Chris Hero said it was his absolute favorite. It's a shame his and LaFon's WWF run never panned out, I went back and watched it and they barely even tried to make these guys look credible. But I will say their ECW stuff is super fun to watch as well. Doug Furnas sadly passed away young at age 52, it's a shame him and LaFon never reunited as friends, but at least their legendary match against Kobashi & Kikuchi will be a lasting legacy among wrestling fans. |
