Innovative offense combined with technical prowess and incredible intensity. All the tools you could ask for from a wrestler. Even after he... uh... bulked up and was more limited in the ring, he was still consistently entertaining with his Big Bad Booty Daddy gimmick and legendary unhinged promos. A one of a kind character and presence that isn't appreciated enough."

Part of one of, if not the, greatest tag teams of all time. Innovative offense that was far ahead of its time. And I'll die on the hill that he was charismatic and great on the mic. He was absolutely very entertaining on the mic and that's the point at the end of the day. Did he entertain when on the mic? Yes. Ok. Well, then he was good on the mic."

Some of the funniest promos of all time and awesome matches. Just a one-of-a-kind career and talent the Big Bad Booty Daddy was!"

Great look. Phenomenal athletic ability in his early career at least. Invented or innovated several moves that have gone on to dominate modern wrestling, many people are not even aware that he is responsible for some of them."

[9.0] "One of the most memorable personas in pro wrestling history, Scott Steiner had essentially two Hall of Fame caliber careers. First he was part of the greatest tag team of all time, The Steiner Brothers. Scott was athletic, powerful, surprisingly agile for his size, and a phenomenal catch wrestler, and it showed in his work with his brother. Scott struggled on the mic though. Then around 1997, Scott reinvented himself with a modern (for the time) take on the Superstar Billy Graham gimmick: Big Poppa Pump. Scott had grown huge and he looked like a million bucks. His new attitude made people pay attention to him and he carried himself like a superstar. And his mic work was phenomenal. Unfortunately, perhaps due to his bigger size, or due to age, or a combination of both factors, Scott was less agile and sometimes even looked stiff in the ring. But he still understood how to work the crowd and use his size and character work to entertain during his matches. Scott had a poor run in WWE after his WCW run, but that was mostly due to backstage clashes with Triple H and because he wasn't fully healthy. His TNA run following WWE was a lot better and highly entertaining. Overall, Scott Steiner is a legend in the wrestling business and one of its most memorable stars, both as a tag team wrestler and as a singles superstar."

[4.0] "Scott Steiner is one of wrestling's most polarizing figures--physically impressive, occasionally entertaining, but often a chaotic mess both in and out of the ring. Early in his career as part of the Steiner Brothers, he was legitimately great. His athleticism, suplex arsenal, and tag team chemistry with Rick made them one of the best teams of the early '90s. But once he morphed into "Big Poppa Pump, " things took a hard turn. While the character had a certain trainwreck charm, Steiner's promos became unhinged word salads more remembered for memes than meaning. His in-ring work, meanwhile, deteriorated as he packed on muscle and lost mobility, often coming across as reckless or sluggish. He was pushed as a top guy in WCW during its dying days and later in WWE, but never delivered matches or moments that justified it. His shoot interviews and backstage reputation only added to the chaos. Steiner is memorable, yes--but not always for the right reasons."

The mulleted early WCW / WWF tag team version was a supreme athlete with his very obvious amateur background. The latter gratuitously roided up mess, especially WWE run, was a waste of organs incapable of having an even watchable match with anyone. His latter WCW run with the permanently dreadful Bagwell mini me probably even worse. Split personality of a guy, and rating."

Then you add Kurt Angle to the mix, your chances of winning drastic go down. See the 3 way at Sacrifice, you got a 33 1/3 chance of winning, but I, I got a 66 and 2/3 chance of winning, because Kurt Angle KNOWS he can't beat me and he's not even gonna try! He managed to be funny, charismatic and willing to push the limits whenever he felt like it. When he was torn apart with his brother, he got a new look, new style and new character. He had main eventer written all over him. The Genetic's Freak rise from 1999-2001 was a bright spot in a dwindling WCW's time. When WCW was bought out, he sat out his contract and joined WWE in late 2002. He was given a push but it was obvious he was limited due to injuries. He was supposed to win the World Title but plans changed and he'd became a lower midcard act before leaving in early 2004. He was treated better in TNA where we saw peak Scott Steiner promos and funny moments."

I think if he was feuding with mainly smaller guys in WWE in the early 2000's he could have had a much better run. For example if you watch him against Jericho around that time he looked pretty good in the ring. Some of his early matches in Japan are tremendous especially the one with Rick and Scott against Power Warrior and Jushin Liger. Any time you hear a story about Scott Steiner from other guys in the business its just pure entertainment which is what Scott Steiner brought to wrestling in general. Steiner is the kind of wrestler you can show clips of to a non wrestling fan and they will have a great time."

Tag team Scotty was incredible in NJPW and WCW, but his career has dragged on to the point that he has had to wrestle far later/longer than his body allows. His early belly to belly suplex was executed to perfection. I could watch 90s highlights of this guy on repeat all day"

You could make a case that in the early to mid 1990s Scott was in the top 10 best wrestlers in the world...he was THAT good. Frankensteiners, Steiner Drivers, a ton of suplex variation, he was just an absolute beast in the ring. His late '90s run to the end of WCW as Big Poppa Pump was actually really good from a character standpoint, it's a shame we couldn't get early '90s Scott's ability combined with Big Poppa Pump Steiner character development. Once part of the best tag team from the early 90WWF, Scott transformed into a different specimen once his injuries and problems began to catch up to him. He wasnt the most atlethic, but as his career demonstrates, he countered that with natural charisma, great promo abilities, awesome techniques, a great powerhouse style, and some of the best techniques in the business. Where do we even begin with Big Poppa Pump, his tag-team with brother Rick is arguably the greatest tag-team of all time. Rick had the personality and Scott was the serious one that would slam guys into Saturn. Eventually Scott would mutate into freakzilla, becoming a testosterone fueled juggernaut that transcended reality. In addition to being an over-the-top personality that had no fear, he pulled off moves like the Frankensteiner which was simply incredible. True his main event title run was cut short in WCW due to their dumpster fire status come the late 1990s, but the Big Bad Booty Daddy never failed to disappoint on the microphone. His work in WWE was a bit-off, Triple H most likely feared Scott and knew he couldn't be tamed. Thus he went off to TNA and we saw the rebirth of a legend. One doesn't watch later-day Steiner matches for the ring-work no no no. Scott was all about the show, and his insane ramblings are entertaining beyond belief, reaching Iron Sheik levels of intensity. So there you have it, a dynamo in the ring during his younger days, had one of the best tag-teams, and cut the greatest promos in TNA history. Why yes, Scott Steiner had a perfect wrestling career. He never sucked up to anyone and did it all with brute strength and swagger, 10/10 for White Thunder."

While this might not be too far from the truth, the mind behind this character definitely knew what to do. His work in tag teams with his brother is his best, and he got lazier/sloppier as he got older, but he always put on an impressive show. He truly was innovative; one the first American powerhouse wrestlers to move with a serious swiftness, executing stuff that we only expected smaller wrestlers to pull off. Assuredly influential on guys like Brock, Keith Lee, Brian Cage, etc. and the overall expectation of modern power wrestlers to demonstrate agility. He really got the "stuff between the moves" down, and it's very clear who is character is at all times. His promos might sound like the ramblings of a stupid meathead, which is by design, but if you review what is actually being said, you can see clear craftsmanship and a sense of humor. He's definitely not everyone's thing, and he can get grating after a while, but he elicits emotional responses and you know what you're going to get with him. In TNA, his career was stable, and the matches were sometimes great) His later career in independent places , I liked the strength of Scott's spirit that, despite his age, he still finds time to hold matches, as it was recently with Jerry Lawrer, I personally admired it)) In general, I am glad to see the "The Steiner Brothers" team and Scott himself in the Hall of Fame 2022 P.S.
