He worked well as the younger workhorse of the Triple Threat alongside Shane Douglas and Bam Bam Bigelow, and despite a lack of mic skill he was able to portray his "no gimmick needed" persona effectively. In the WWF he was likely held back by the aforementioned lack of charisma as well as his shorter height, though this was less an issue in ECW, WCW and TNA, and his tumultuous relationship with Tammy Lynn Sytch likely caused more harm than good to Candido's solo career. His sudden passing in 2005, when he seemed to be just on the cusp of a career resurgence in TNA, was tragic. |

Because he was a guy who knew how to work, he knew how to sell, he knew how to put together great matches against anyone they put across the ring from him, and elevate that said opponent in the process regardless of whether he won or lost. The short of it is, in ring wrestling was his strong suit. They had Tammy (sunny) with him to make up for the charisma, personality, and promo that he didn't have , but they were overly gimmicked in WWF/E with the body donnas thing, and she had her own issues going on so that package wasn't going far. I think that's why he ultimately had more success in WCW/ECW/TNA because they were able to let him to stick to the wrestling and mask what he wasn't good at which was promos, personality, and playing a character. Hence his nickname "No Gimmicks Needed". |

Sicherlich ein talentierter und guter Worker und mit Hilfe von Steroiden kam er, wie er auch selber sagte, auf einen guten Look trotz seiner Körpergröße, aber er wäre zu jeder Zeit an jedem Ort nur ein "Nebendarsteller" gewesen und als solcher sah er sich wohl auch und war damit zufrieden. Und da spricht auch gar nichts dagegen. Zu früh verstorben, klar, aber trotz aller Tragik: Die Chancen sind leider hoch, dass sein Lebensstil, d. h. das war er "einnahm", letzten Endes zu den Komplikationen führte, an denen er gestorben ist. Ich will nicht direkt sagen, dass er sein eigenens Opfer wurde, aber ihn hier als Opfer der Mediziner darzustellen, ist genauso falsch. |

Not the most imposing presence but he was consistently booked, outside of WWF, as a formidable presence due to his craftiness and hot girlfriend. Truly made a name for himself with his awesome Triple Threat run in ECW, despite the fact he was very clearly on steroids like a mother fucker. In his later career, Candido was beginning to establish himself as a valuable veteran in TNA and on the independent scene, with a more comedic approach to his performances. Candido seemed to be finding his footing in pro wrestling after a couple years of inactivity and career uncertainty when he died in the most tragic wrestling death besides Owen Hart. One of those guys no one seems to have a bad thing to say about. It's a shame Tammy Sytch was such a polarizing presence throughout his life and career, as he didn't need her to be a name. In WWE the most he wouldve gotten on his own would be the IC, which he wouldve been perfect for him, but he is highly over rated for what he was in Dark Side. I have no disrespect towards Candido, he was a fine worker like i said, same with Daniels, they earned their 8s, just i dont see them any higher. RIP Chris, you still deserved better. |
