202.03.2024Ma Stump Puller2.0I feel really bad for Jorge because he was a giant without much atheticism; since the very start it feels like every part of his life was him being picked out for his size then getting injured shortly after before being dropped. He was simply too tall and lanky to really be effective at anything without something coming off the hinges. Oh, and he ALSO had terrible diabetes to boot alongside all of that which made him even more inconsistent. He was more or less purely there as a attraction more than anything else, but once the allure of that wore off his wrestling just wasn't anything good at all. The guy clearly at least was trying but his body never seemed to follow whatever he was trying to do from the very limited moveset that he had. Watching him at the very end of his career where he couldn't even do anything bar lean off the ropes and have someone hit him is probably top 5 in the saddest things I've seen in a wrestling ring. Apparently he was a pretty nice guy (to his detriment in places) and the fact that he was committed enough to go to Japan to improve his wrestling skills is proof enough that he was definitely passionate about the business. He just sucked at it.

401.02.2024Giantfan19801.0Another big immobile Giant that promoters tried to get over as the next coming of Andre The Giant. He was tall, but didn't have the mass of Andre and couldn't sell to save his life and even Ric Flair couldn't carry him to a good match!

725.01.2024CommisarRobe1.0Giants in Wrestling are certainly a common sight and are often pushed due to their look more than technical ability, this is very true of Giant Gonzalez, this man simply could not work, sell or wrestle, the fact he got onto a Wrestlemania card at all is an insult to the stature of the show. A prime case of booking a spectacle over competent in ring work.
827.12.2023JokerDeSilva2.0A notoriously bad giant in wrestling history, though I honestly don't think he's quite as bad as his reputation. He's definitely not good, mind you, but I think the profile of his matches has amplified his reputation. In general, he was just an incredibly tall dude and that was about it. Towering but fragile, due to his frame, he had an alright look as a monster but was undercut by how lanky he is, and that awful monkey muscle suit the WWF put him in, and his sheer size gave him a decent crowd reaction despite not really projecting a ton of charisma or menace. His real weakness, though, was his in-ring work - a weak, clumsy, and uninspiring athlete much like the later Great Khali, but with less of the overt menace. It's understandable why both WWF and WCW tried to make him work, he was such a freak attraction, but he just didn't have anything other than the attraction-level size.

1111.12.2023greaterdale0.0Poor Giant Gonzalez he never really stood a chance getting over he was just so slow and lumbering due to his body breaking down on him. Hot take but I actually think he had a good look and it must have been quite a site to see a person that tall come to the ring I also found his body suit he wore in the Fed kinda funny. I think his greatest accomplishment was chasing around Todd Pettengill on a segment of WWF Mania which makes me laugh every time. Sadly even with all of that so bad it's good stuff can't let me give him even a single point I originally gave him a 2/10 but if I can't give Mr Gonzalez a 0 can I really give anyone a 0? He also had the worst Undertaker streak match in an era of really bad Undertaker matches. I feel really bad for the guy as I've heard he was quite a nice guy but being a nice guy doesn't make me give you a good rating no more than being a piece of shit means you're going to get a bad rating. Ultimately I'm going to rate you on your career.

1422.11.2023JediSaiyanMaster12030.0Look, rest in peace and all, I hope he's in a better place now. But let's be real here, this guy might just be the worst professional wrestler to ever step foot in the ring, definitely the worst giant. From his in ring "skills, " to his gear under the Giant Gonzalez gimmick, to his abysmal match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania IX, no redeeming qualities.

1804.10.2023andytuga864.0The tallest pro-wrestler ever, he was legit 7ft7 (2, 31 m). One of the most unusual physiques to ever step foot in a wrestling ring. Yes he was a poor worker and couldn't barely move, but his bizarre look and presence was enough to give amazing crowds reactions in many arenas. It was always fascinating for me to watch him face-to-face with the Undertaker in the ring. He also was a decent guy outside the ring and had a lot of health issues, he doesn't deserve all the hate he gets.

2216.08.2023alexxxxblookat1.0the guy's a huge spectacle, but that's really about it. he's the drizzling shits in the ring, has a horrible presentation/ring gear, and he couldn't take a bump or sell a move even if it were to save his life (hell, basic MOVEMENT was a rarity for him) i don't think even prime ric flair or bret hart could carry him to at least a serviceable match.

3213.04.2023crs2851.0Super big but not a great wrestler. He was not mobile, lacked the ability to do some of the basics and got that weird bodysuit. He never developed either.
3307.04.2023benny5bellys2.0I will credit him with the fact that I once saw a show with him on and my tiny mind was blown at how tall he was which is exactly why he got so many chances. Poor lad got lumbered with trying to get a decent match out of Emo Mean Mark.

4103.02.2023CurlyHairMetalPunk0.0Giant Gonzales had an awful look, was dreadful on the microphone, and was absolutely terrible in the ring. Giant Gonzales might be the worst wrestler that has ever worked for the WWE and is definitely in the running for worst there is, worst there was, and the worst that there ever will be.
4211.01.2023benh21.0Ah man poor Gigante. He was a hell of an attraction for about two weeks but he just didn't have anything going for him to make it as a wrestler. He might have done alright for a while in the territory days bouncing around different cities for one-off matches.

4411.12.2022face painted legend4.0Being a type 1 diabetic at his size, I kinda felt like he was handicapped from the start, and that he was going to be working on borrowed time right from jump street due to the mobility issues that would come with having it, and I was kinda right about that because big Jorge only lasted what? 5 years in the business? Then couple the diabetes with the fact that he had no proper wrestling training, he didn't work how to work, he didn't know when to register what was happening to him in the ring, or how to sell whatever moves he took properly for a guy his size. All he really had going for him positively was that he was legitimately THE largest athlete in the world at the time, an attraction that people would flock to see, and even though he was stiff...you could still get the giant casting out of him in feuds because he was really was one. He was also one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet in your life too from what i've heard about him/saw of him.

5413.08.2022xGAICHx4.0Gonzalez was not that bad. He was such a tall man and we couldn't expect too much of him. Despite his height, he was doing well enough in the ring.
5524.07.2022Leth992.0I give him a 1 because he could do an okay big boot and okay chokeslam. I know, it looks stupid, but Khali can't walk and he has a way higher rating. El Gigante could walk without looking like he was gonna fall forward

5718.07.2022sbg20220.0Clunky, immobile, uncharismatic and just absolutely terrible in the ring. Makes Great Khali look like Ricky Steamboat in terms of in ring ability.

6524.01.2022WhatIsLooveee3.0El Gigante's face showed no emotion other than uncertainty and, perhaps, sometimes indifference to what was happening. He was supposed to be an intimidating giant, but he became one only after a few years in WWF. After becoming Giant Gonzalez, Jorge transformed a little and became more impressive and frightening, especially against the background of his manager, who was 50 centimeters shorter. He still didn't sell well and didn't look good in his matches, but he wasn't so faceless anymore. 3 points for his WWF & USWA run.
6617.01.2022MilkDDTea0.0
6707.01.2022TigerDiver1.0I'll give him one for the visually impressive size and the spectacle of seeing him in action (especially in person no less). Aside from that though, he's every bit as horrendous in the ring as people have said about him. Tremendously limited in the ring, no mic skill, no charisma, no nothing. One of the worst to ever been pushed to a certain degree by a major promotion.
6802.01.2022Conquistador370.0I rank a few people at a zero, but to their credit i think just about all of them could take any sort of bump at some point. this physical anomaly....not so much.
6915.10.2021Den0031.0
7009.10.2021MMS2000552.0The giant Gonzalez was very tight, he didn't have good sales, his moves were not good, he wasn't good in the ring. Even so, I consider it a legend for its incredible height.

7210.09.2021Bad Jobber5.0hes not as bad as you all think. look at him in njpw, a spectacle is stil a big spectacle. cut the man some slack
7301.08.2021Firebird220.0
7404.06.2021Marx Kane1.0I mean, I'm sure he is a nice dude and was quite protected. Terrible selling, gear in WWE and mic skills but that is just beating a dead horse.
7528.05.2021mjs22121.0Jorge Gonzalez had a very unfortunate life. From what I understand, he wasn't doing good health wise or financially and Harvey Wippleman actually sent him money, which is respectable. It's clear that WCW was trying to create their own Andre with this guy, but they failed miserably. Jorge was very hard to watch perform. His size (although fascinating) severely limited his abilities and his selling looked stupidly goofy. He may have looked intimidating, but he probably would've been better off as another Giant Silva from the Oddities. I give him a point because of his size and the fact that he actually provided one or two funny moments when he was with WWF, but they would have been better off not signing him in the first place. Horrendous on all sides.

8229.01.2021NighthawkN4.0If it wasn't for his time in New Japan I wouldn't have given him more than a 2, as his work in both WCW and the WWF (as it was then) was shockingly poor.

8421.12.2020Old ride long line2.0First of all I love a good spectacle. However after countless years of scouring the internet to find one impressive thing that happened in any of his matches, I can say that there is nothing to find. If you also love a good spectacle watch great khali, big show, Andre, mark henry, Yokozuna or mable before you watch this trash can. I won? t put anybody less than a 2 because there needs to be a buffer zone between the murderers and the truly terrible wrestlers so consider this the lowest possible rating from me.

Gegen One Man Gang. Der Great Khali? Gimmick natürlich in der WWF fragwürdig.

9230.04.2020qbort2.0I can't really rate him because he wasn't really a wrestler. As a gimmick, however, he was pretty good. Maybe it would have worked if another guy who could wrestle played his character.
9414.03.2020Aquarama2.0
9507.03.2020AAA30001.0Eines muss man The Giant Gonzales lassen. Er hat es geschafft noch schlechter zu sein als The Great Khali. Chapeu!

9828.11.2019Wrestlefan200.0Due to his size, he was bad in the ring. His mic skills are also bad. He could have worked as an enforcer but was never given the chance.

10003.10.2019krukster0.0Horrible skill set and even worse on the mic. Probably one of the worst wrestlers of all-time, but could have made a nice body guard in WCW or the WWF
