His penis suplex move is one of the most stupid and ridiculous things ever, and the fact that he's a sexually abusive predator with absolutely no integrity doesn't help. I can give him a few points for being a decent wrestler when he tries to be but he's just such a joke in general."

While I could be more fair and give him a slightly higher rating for being a good wrestler who's had some great matches before, but I can't do it because I hate this man's character and it overshadows it. While I remain that this rating is only based on his character work, and I try not to insult the wrestlers I rate and try my best to separate the art from the person, I can't because he literally lived the gimmick. A chauvinistic piece of garbage who makes Andrew Tate look like a feminist. Good riddance, don't miss you at all, clown."

He does not belong in wrestling, near women and girls at Disneyland or any profession that has women in the workspace. This all started before the infamous moment in DDT wrestling. His character as Hollywoods Own allows him to act as a terrible sleazebag that mistreats women to a demeaning level. That lollipop in his pants and makes his opponents to suck on the pop in absolutely disgusting. Glad hes no longer in the business."

[2.0] "Well, he lived the gimmick... so 2.0/10 for keeping professional wrestling real... Oh boy... Comedy and hardcore wrestling is just a slippery slope that typically ends horribly. Joey Ryan's career has been destroyed due to him being a literal sex-pest. Would any promotion really be okay signing someone who forces people to grab his wingus and ping pong boys? Maybe during the Attitude-Era where anything goes, but this day and age with everyone being hyper sensitive it seems off-putting. As a comedy character it just falls flat, his in ring work is mediocre at best, and as a human he's a total scumbag without many redeemable qualities. The old argument about separating the art from the artist doesn't apply here, as we aren't talking about a Dynamite Kid level of talent. Thus a flat 2.0/10 seems like a befitting rating."

His PWG stuff was fine but once he started doing that dick gimmick his ability to wrestle completely disappeared. He literally wrestled the exact same spots in the exact same order over and over again for years and would probably still be doing that crap if not for Speaking Out."

Joey's never been that good as a wrestler, every single notable match he's ever had he either did almost nothing or he got carried by somebody that can actually go. The shtick was funny like 5 times, and 4 of those were times where he did something different with it than the base "suplex with my dick" spot. Joey being outed for sexual misconduct should've probably happened earlier than it did, but it's a net positive for wrestling as a whole. The only shame is that this dude managed to get booked in some great companies because of the buzz around him that was mostly built by more talented wrestlers (Candice LeRae and Danshoku Dino for the most part). He also seemed to have a good mind for the business end of the wrestling world, being one of the six founders of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and later founding his own boutique promotion, Bar Wrestling. He knew how to effectively market himself through the internet and social media's meme culture, turning what may have been intended as a one-off comedy spot into promotional gold. And while that comedy spot - which I admittedly found amusing initially - may have become far overplayed, if it was still getting good-paying bookings it's hard to fault his continued reliance on it. However, his career was largely derailed by the multitude of allegations made against him in the #SpeakingOut movement and the way in which he responded to them, and it seems unlikely that any reputable promotion will take the PR risk of utilizing him again anytime soon."

He was going inside the ring to entertain people and that's what he did for the last 20 years. He created his own crazy and ridiculous gimmick, but that's what made him very unique. I laughed a lot at his matches and I recall his work from PWG, Lucha Underground and independent circuit with all the positive feelings. I hope my final score will at least help his rating a little. As a matter of fact if its this kind of unsubtle stupid bullcrap I effing hate it. Granted I'm no Jim Cornette, I can look past this garbage if the man behind it makes an effort to change himself for the better (see Kenny Omega, to which I HATE his DDT comedy stuff but have to respect him for what hes done as of late), but Ryan looks perfectly content with 'suplexing' people with his cock. Joke wrestler that belongs in promotions like Chikara and DDT. Maybe I hate fun, but I do know funny when I see it and Ryans shtick isn't funny to me."

I loved it. But whenever he spoke, it was so, so bad. As long as you keep Joey away from a mic, he's a solid hand in the ring. You could almost say his work is boring at times. When he tags with Candice LeRae, he usually steps his game up. His early work in PWG was good and as he started to develop his sleazy character, he had a lot of great moments. However, it seems like he's just kind of been content with his current character and not changing it up. But if it keeps getting him booked, I can't fault him for it."

I wasn't a big fan when I first saw him. He was with Candice and I thought she was the star of their team. He was annoying at best. However, he's grown on me as I've seen him more. Although his character is ridiculous, somehow, it works. He's a great comedy character and that earns him a few points he would otherwise not have. I thought his new gimmick focusing on his anatomy was a bit much, but seeing it in person, and watching a bunch of tough and talented guys like Mario Bokara sell it, I almost believed it. If he works with the right people, Joey is extremely fun to watch, and that is why I am giving him as high a rating as I am."

Was momentan natürlich auch an seinem "Dick-Move" liegt.

He's still a proficient wrestler and it's cool that he received some mainstream attention for his work in Japan recently (the obligatory shirt he put out is awful though). I like him in commentary more than I like him in the ring so it will be great to see him continue to feature on PWG commentary as his career continues to wind down."

The guy is one of the best heels in the business today. Whatever it takes to do or say something to piss the audience off, he can do it. And he's a solid athlete as well. WWE famously passed on him (for reasons so stupid, I'm too embarrassed to type them here), so maybe Global Force Wrestling could use his talents properly-for the world to see."

Beim Lokalpublikum in Kalifornien absolut over, woanders meistens nicht so.
