Dies würde ich mir an seiner Stelle zu seinem eigenen Wohlbefinden jedoch dreifach überlegen. Ich denke auch, dass er leider mit dem Kapitel Wrestling abgeschlossen hat. Dabei muss ich sagen, dass ich zu seiner aktiven Zeit kein großer Fan von ihm war. Mich hat zwar sein Gimmick in keinster Weise gestört, jedoch konnte ich, damals wie heute, mit dem unsäglichen Intergender-Wrestling absolut nichts anfangen. Dort gehörte er ja im Indy-Bereich zu den Pionieren dieser heute leider überall verbreiteten Form des Wrestlings. Ich werde aus diesem Grund auch keine Bewertung vornehmen, da ich ihn eigentlich fast ausschließlich als Gimmick-Wrestler kennengelernt habe und von seinem Karrierebeginn kaum etwas gesehen habe. Als, wahrscheinlich einzige, Gegenstimme sehe ich mich zum Abschluss jedoch noch gezwungen zu erwähnen, dass ich ein entschiedener Gegner dieser modernen branchenweiten Blacklisting-Welle bin und mir vollkommen egal ist was er backstage für ein Mensch war oder wie und bei wem er seine Sexualität dort ausgelebt hat. He knew how to effectively market himself through the internet and social media's meme culture, turning what may have been intended as a one-off comedy spot into promotional gold. And while that comedy spot - which I admittedly found amusing initially - may have become far overplayed, if it was still getting good-paying bookings it's hard to fault his continued reliance on it. However, his career was largely derailed by the multitude of allegations made against him in the #SpeakingOut movement and the way in which he responded to them, and it seems unlikely that any reputable promotion will take the PR risk of utilizing him again anytime soon."

Auch sein Cancelculture-Gimmick bei Impact rettet da nichts. Dafür ist seine In-Ring- und Promo-Arbeit auch einfach nicht gut genug. [6.0] "Joey Ryan is the kind of guy you'd love to have in your company just based on looks alone. When he had his longer hair and he'd bust out the Hawaiian shirts, he just oozed cocky and sleazy. I loved it. But whenever he spoke, it was so, so bad. As long as you keep Joey away from a mic, he's a solid hand in the ring. You could almost say his work is boring at times. When he tags with Candice LeRae, he usually steps his game up. His early work in PWG was good and as he started to develop his sleazy character, he had a lot of great moments. However, it seems like he's just kind of been content with his current character and not changing it up. But if it keeps getting him booked, I can't fault him for it."
[6.0] "Joey Ryan is... okay. He's not a fantastic wrestler, but he's decent. What makes up for his lack of Wow factor technically is his absolutely over-the-top personality. I wasn't a big fan when I first saw him. He was with Candice and I thought she was the star of their team. He was annoying at best. However, he's grown on me as I've seen him more. Although his character is ridiculous, somehow, it works. He's a great comedy character and that earns him a few points he would otherwise not have. I thought his new gimmick focusing on his anatomy was a bit much, but seeing it in person, and watching a bunch of tough and talented guys like Mario Bokara sell it, I almost believed it. If he works with the right people, Joey is extremely fun to watch, and that is why I am giving him as high a rating as I am."
[6.0] "Meiner Meinung nach ist Joey Ryan insgesamt nur besser als "Durchschnitt". Er ist charismatisch und solide im Ring, aber das wars. Als "Comedy" Wrestler ist er super aber ernst nehmen als Champ könnte ich ihn nicht.... Was momentan natürlich auch an seinem "Dick-Move" liegt. Das beste an Joey ist das Tag Team Mit Candice welches ich sogar mit 10/10 bewertet habe... Joey allein bekommt hingegen nur die Note 3."
[3.0] "Joey Ryan just isn't a very good professional wrestler, although he's been better over the past couple of years, but still isn't crisp as a 15 year veteran should be. His gimmick is fitting, but his offense, timing, and selling leave something left to be desired."
[7.0] "Teaming with Candice breathed some new life into the gimmick but Joey Ryan's sleazy shtick is beginning to wear thin - the PWG crowd even chanted "please retire" earlier in the year. He's still a proficient wrestler and it's cool that he received some mainstream attention for his work in Japan recently (the obligatory shirt he put out is awful though). I like him in commentary more than I like him in the ring so it will be great to see him continue to feature on PWG commentary as his career continues to wind down."
[8.0] "A good, solid worker with a great gimmick, which he plays up to well and can work 'either way'. He is entertaining and always good at putting over his opponent, and the things he can do with a lollipop..."

Sie scheinen ihm allerdings gezeigt zu haben, was wichtig ist im Wrestling, er ist entschlossener geworden und bleibt nicht einfach nur der Clown, wozu er früher zu sehr geneigt hat! Wenn er noch mehr härte an den Tag legen würde, dann wäre er schier unaufhaltbar!"
[9.0] "The uncrowned King of the Indies. His time in TNA was one of the greatest disappointments in a company that's full of them. He should have been a lot bigger than he was. The guy is one of the best heels in the business today. Whatever it takes to do or say something to piss the audience off, he can do it. And he's a solid athlete as well. WWE famously passed on him (for reasons so stupid, I'm too embarrassed to type them here), so maybe Global Force Wrestling could use his talents properly-for the world to see."

Wenn man verschiedene Wrestling Aspekte verbinden muss, dürfen Gefühl und Talent anwesend sein. Seine Arbeit erweckt immer Interesse."
[7.0] "Sehr solide im Ring (gerade bei PWG), wirklich gutes Gimmick und ordentliches Micwork - der perfekte Undercarder/Midcarder um Faces over zu bringen. Braucht man in jeder Liga."
[7.0] "Lustiger Charakter auf jeden Fall. Leider eher ein Nebendarsteller. Mich würde mal interessieren wie Ryan sich in einem größeren Programm macht. Ich muss immer lachen, wenn ich ihn sehe und hoffe deshalb, dass er mehr Air-Time für eine gute Comedy-Storyline bekommt."
[8.0] "Joey Ryan is a very talented wrestler, with a great gimmick that can absolutely get major heat. He has a boatload of charisma, and can cut a promo like almost no other. His ability hasn't really been fully shown, considering that he has barely won a single match, however given the right opportunity, Ryan can outwrestle, much of the TNA locker room."

[8.0] "Ryan ist nach wie vor ein guter Mann. Aber er wird langsam ein bisschen langweilig. Jetzt in der wiedergeboren "Dynasty" mit Scropio Sky ganz unterhaltsam."
[8.0] "Ryan hat sich wirklich gemacht. Im Ring war er ja immer schon nicht schlecht aber gerade in letzter Zeit gefällt er mir bei PWG und NWA from Hollywood wirklich gut. Dazu am Mic auch recht begabt so dass es mit ihm eigentlich nie langweilig wird."
[6.0] "Zwar ungemein charismatisch und ein grandioser Heel, aber durch seinen recht unspektakulären und monotonen In Ring-Stil fühlt man sich bei Ryan sehr schnell "übersättigt"."
[8.0] "Im Ring ist Joey Ryan sicher nur im Mittelfeld der Indy Landschaft anzusiedeln. Hat aber durch sein Gimmick und seine .... spezielle Art dieses"gewisse Etwas" das ihn aus der Masse von Indy Talenten herauszustechen lässt. Es sorgt jedenfalls dafür, dass ich mich von Ryan, auch wenn er dabei keinen Klassiker im Ring abliefert, immer sehr gut unterhalten fühle."
[8.0] "Joey Ryan ist absolut goldwert als Heel. Mit einer der Gründe, warum PWG so genial ist. Seine Matches beinhalten viel Old-School Elemente, die er total gut rüber bringt. Er kann aber auch genauso geile Comedy zeigen, wie zum Beispiel gegen Ares bei der PWG European Vacation II damals in Essen, einfach genial der Mann, 8 Punkte."
[8.0] "Joey gehört zu meinen Lieblingswrestlern. Er hat unglaublich viel Charisma und Ausstrahlung. Seine In-Ring Fähigkeiten sind allemal gut genug um in der Indy Szene mitzuhalten auch wenn er kein Danielson ist."
[8.0] "Joey ist ein guter Junge! Am Mic klasse, im Ring klasse und er hat sich inzwischen zu einem wirklich akzeptablen Heel gemausert. Bei der PWG einer der absoluten Topleute, bei WWE dient er ab und zu als Edeljobber."
[4.0] "Ich kann ihm einfach nichts abgewinnen. Sein Gimmick find ich furchtbar, sein PWG Titlerun hat mich bereits nach 3 Shows genervt, und im Ring würd ich ihn auch nicht mehr als solide nennen. Sorry, aber da hat PWG wirklich weit bessere Leute zu bieten!"
[8.0] "Kann ganz gut wrestlen, hat sich gimmick- und entertainmentmässig in den letzten Jahren klasse entwickelt. Unterhält mich sowohl am Mic als auch im Ring sehr gut. Würde mich echt freuen, wenn er häufiger außerhalb der SoCal-Szene gebookt würde."
[8.0] "Joey Ryan ist schon ein kleines Phänomen. Von seiner Ausstrahlung her hat er sich sehr entwickelt wenn man an frühe PWG Tage denkt. Starke Phasen mit seiner Fehde gegen Super Dragon oder der PWG Title Regentschaft haben ihn gut nach vorne gebracht. Beim Lokalpublikum in Kalifornien absolut over, woanders meistens nicht so. Mittlerweile steht sein entwickelter Charakter zwar sehr im Vordergrund, trotzdem ist er mittlerweile ein sehr netter und unterhaltsamer Old School Heel."
